Speaking at the Make in Odisha Conclave here on Thursday, Sinha said the four power discoms of Odisha, where Tata Power has a majority stake, are committed to Rs 6,000 crore capex investment in the next five years. Sinha said the company will also set up 1,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points, 1,00,000 solar pumps, microgrids, rooftop and floating <keyword id="6453229" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="solar-plants" source="Orion">solar plants</keyword> in the next five years. He welcomed the Odisha government's Renewable Energy Policy 2022 unveiled at the Make In Odisha Conclave here. The Tata Power CEO said the company has been engaged in power distribution across Odisha and is committed to ensure ease-of-doing business through quality power supply. "Tata Power is committed to ensure 'Udyog Ru Pragati' (progress through entrepreneurship) by offering high-quality and affordable power supply to enable a conducive environment for industrial development. Our clean and green energy products and solutions in e-mobility, decentralised generation, agriculture, and demand side management will further ensure an all-round sustainable development of the state," Sinha said. He said Tata Power is also working with Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) in deploying charging infrastructure at multi-level car parking lots and public utilities like hospitals, universities, malls, and at important city hubs. The company is also in early stages to explore the development of green hydrogen hubs in the Paradeep region to meet industrial demands, he said, adding that Tata Power is also working towards the solarization of the agriculture sector in association with the state government. The company has already installed over 700 solar pumps in addition to 1,200 dual pump for community drinking application across the state. It has planned to install 30,000 solar pumps over the next five years, he said. Welcoming the state's new Renewable Energy Policy 2022, Sinha said the incentives provisions like electricity duty waiver, wheeling charge waiver, cross subsidy surcharge waiver, state transmission utility charge waiver are very encouraging. He said Tata Power is working towards the electrification of remote villages by setting up microgrids. A technical feasibility study has been carried out in several villages in the Mayurbhanj District to set up microgrids for transformation of the rural/ tribal economy.

ADB's Hoe Yun Jeong said the project demonstrates an innovative financing arrangement, the first of its kind for ADB, by combining sovereign and non-sovereign loans for a state government-owned enterprise. This is intended to significantly reduce the sovereign exposure and help BESCOM move towards a market-based approach for raising funds for capital expenditure. In parallel to underground distribution cables, more than 2,800 km of fibre optical cables would be installed to strengthen the communication network. Moving about 7,200 km of distribution lines underground would help reduce technical and commercial losses by nearly 30 per cent. The fibre optical cables would be used for smart metering systems, distribution automation system (DAS) in the distribution grid, and other communication networks. The project would install 1,700 automated ring main units adapted with a DAS to monitor and control the distribution line switchgears from the control centre. ADB signs $100 million loan with government to boost power distribution system in Bengaluru

Anil Ambani's Reliance Infra, the company behind Mumbai Metro, to raise ₹550 crore for future growth

New Delhi, Dec 23 () Tata Power on Monday said it has emerged as the successful bidder to own the licence for distribution and retail supply of electricity in Odisha's five circles together constituting Central Electricity Supply Utility of Odisha (CESU).
 In a regulatory filing the company said the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) has awarded the Letter of Intent (LOI) to Tata Power Company Ltd for the acquisition of CESU Power Distribution in Odisha.
 The five electrical cirlces constituting CESU are the areas of Bhubaneswar (Electrical Circle - I and II), Cuttack, Paradip and Dhenkanal.
 The license is being offered for 25 years initially.
 "The proposed sale of CESU to Tata Power will be through the formation of a special purpose vehicle entity. Tata Power has been informed that Government of Odisha will own 49 per cent equity stake in the proposed SPV and Tata Power will hold 51 per cent equity with their management," the filing added.
 Presently, Tata Power has total consumer base of 2.5 million across Mumbai, Delhi and Ajmer and with the acquisition of CESU, its consumer base would double and touch five million consumers.
 CESU is spread over 30,000 Sq km with population of over 1.4 crore and consumer base of 2.5 million. The average demand of CESU is around 1,300 MW with the annual input energy of 8,400 MUs (FY2018).
 "Recently, our focus has been on increasing the company's existing footprint in distribution of electricity through Public-Private-Partnerships (PPP) with discoms. This tie up with CESU is the latest such partnership in the distribution business," Tata Power CEO &amp; MD Praveer Sinha said.
 "We hope to transform Orissa distribution system with 24x7 reliable power and unmatched customer services with extensive social engagement using our existing experience in distribution of electricity in Delhi, Mumbai and Ajmer," Tata Power President-T&amp;D Sanjay Banga said.
 Tata Power is a leading integrated power company and, together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has an installed capacity of 10,763 MW.

Tata Power to own licence for distribution, retail supply of electricity in five circles in Odisha

Tatas to bring Starbucks, tea and salt under one roof - to create a mega FMCG company

State-owned non-banking finance firm <keyword id="77463" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Power-Finance-Corporation">Power Finance Corporation</keyword> (PFC) has recorded the highest-ever net profit of ₹8,444 crore for financial year 2020-21, a 49 percent jump over the previous year. In FY20, the PFC had reported a net profit of ₹5,655 crore on a standalone basis. The company's consolidated net profit also increased by 66 per cent in FY21 to ₹15,716 crore against ₹9,477 crore reported in FY20. During 2020-21, the power sector lender increased its net interest income to ₹12,951 crore in compassion to ₹10,097 crore reported in FY 20. The company declared dividend of ₹2 per share which takes up its total dividend distribution in FY 21 of ₹10 per share i.e. 100 per cent. Aided by profit growth, PFC's net worth for FY21 also increased by 16 per cent to ₹52,393 crore. Unlike commercial banks, PFC's Gross <keyword id="79363" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="NPA">NPA</keyword> ratio saw a sharp reduction of 238 bps from FY20. The current GNPA ratio is at 5.70 per cent against 8.08 per cent in FY20 <keyword id="920338" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Net-NPA">Net NPA</keyword> ratio also saw a sharp reduction of 171 bps from FY20. The current Net NPA ratio is at 2.09 per cent against 3.80 per cent in FY20. The lender said that 25 percent of its 'stressed book' got resolved in FY 21. The capital adequacy ratio of the company has also improved sequentially to 18.83 per cent as on March 31, 2021. The capital adequacy is at a comfortable level with sufficient cushion over &amp; above the prescribed regulatory limits. Under the Aatma Nirbhar Discoms liquidity support announced by the government, PFC &amp; its subsidiary <keyword id="46436" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="REC">REC</keyword>, combined together have so far sanctioned ₹1,34,782 crore and disbursed ₹78,855 crore. "I am extremely pleased with our FY 21 results despite the many headwinds faced during the year. The impressive performance in FY 21 as is evident from the highest ever profit, underlines the inherent strengths of PFC in handling adverse economic events. At 7:55 am, the SGX Nifty was up 0.35% at 8.71 points pointing towards a higher start for Nifty50. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session today: Indiabulls Housing Finance Indiabulls Housing Finance reported a 65.5% drop in its net profit to ₹272.5 crore for the quarter ended June. The company said it expects its loan book to start growing from here on, as it believes the phase of reduction in loan book and AUM (assets under management) is over. The shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance ended nearly a percent lower on Friday. Mindspace Business Parks REIT Public unit holder of the Mindspace Business Parks, BREP Asian SG Pear Holding created an encumbrance of 5.43 crore units amounting to a 9.16% stake in favour of certain overseas financial institutions availed for a credit facility availed by the trust. “The volume-weighted average price of the Units over which the Encumbrance was created was ₹300.63 as on August 18, 2020,” the company said in a release to the stock-exchanges. The shares of Mindspace Business Parks REIT ended 2% higher on Friday. Tata Power Tata Power announced that the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the withdrawal of the scheme of arrangement between the Company, Tata Power Renewable Energy, Supa Windfarm, Nivade Windfarm, Tata Power Green Energy and their respective shareholders and creditors. The shares of Tata Power ended nearly a percent higher on Friday. Dixon Technologies The Board of Dixon Technologies at a meeting held on August 22, has approved raising of funds up to an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹200 crores by way of issuance of any instrument or security, including equity shares, fully / partly convertible debentures, non-convertible debentures, foreign currency convertible bonds, warrants, or any combination thereof, in one or more tranches. The shares of Dixon Tech ended nearly a percent higher on Friday. Reliance Industries RIL concludes amalgamation and merger amongst its wholly-owned subsidiaries Reliance Holdings USA into Reliance Energy Generation and Distribution. Merger entity Reliance Energy and Distribution has further merged into RIL. The shares of RIL ended nearly a percent lower on Friday. IIFL Finance Limited The board of Finance Committee of IIFL Finance Limited will meet on August 26, to consider and approve the offer document and other terms and conditions of the issue and allotment of Non-Convertible Debentures on private placement basis. The shares of IIFL Finance Limited ended 2% lower on Friday. Future Enterprises The board was expected to discuss the merger of three group companies- Future Lifestyle, Future Supply Chain, and Future Retail- in a meeting on Saturday. However, the company announced that it had postponed its board meeting to be held on August 22, by a week to August 28. The shares of Future Enterprises ended 5% higher on Friday. Future Retail Also watch out for Future Retail in trade today. It faces a debt repayment deadline after missing an interest payment of $14 million in July. The 30-day grace period also ended on August 22. The shares of Future Retail ended nearly 4% lower on Friday Rossari Biotech Rossari recorded 14.3% fall in revenue to ₹109.4 crore, but its net profit grew 7.4% to ₹15.2 crore as the cost of goods consumed in the making of its products fell by nearly a third. The input cost was the biggest saving in the latest earnings report. The shares of Rossari Biotech ended 4% higher on Friday.
