The commercial vehicles business and its related investments would be housed in one entity while the passenger vehicles businesses including PV (Passenger Vehicle), EV (Electric Vehicle), <keyword id="19916884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jlr" source="keywords">JLR</keyword> ( Jaguar Land Rover), and its related investments would be part of the other entity, the auto major said in a regulatory filing. The demerger will be implemented through an <keyword id="19901085" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nclt" source="keywords">NCLT</keyword> scheme of arrangement and all shareholders of <keyword id="20320550" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tml" source="keywords">TML</keyword> (<keyword id="20176909" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-motors-ltd" source="keywords">Tata Motors Ltd</keyword>) shall continue to have identical shareholding in both the listed entities, it added. Analysts have lauded the automaker’s improvement in sales highlighting better chip supply and a better-than-expected booking run rate for JLR. “All three businesses of Tata Motors are in a recovery mode. While the India CV (commercial vehicles) business will see a cyclical recovery, the India PV (passenger vehicles) business is seeing a structural recovery. JLR is also witnessing a cyclical recovery, supported by a favourable product mix,” said analysts at Motilal Oswal. “However, supply-side issues will delay the recovery process. While there will be no near-term catalysts from the JLR business, the recovery in the India business (~50% of the sum of the parts (SoTP) will continue,” added the report. Adding to the investor cheer, in March, the automaker sold 46,847 cars, overtaking rival Hyundai in the domestic passenger vehicle sales segment. In comparison, Hyundai sold 45,703 cars during the same month. Tata Motors registered a 27% on-year increase in passenger vehicles sales for March, far ahead of Hyundai, which registered a growth of 4.4%. While the company makes maximum effort to reduce cost and partially offset the increase, it has become imperative to pass on some of the impact through a price increase. The company has planned this price increase in April 2023, which shall vary across models,” said Maruti Suzuki in an exchange filing. On March 21, Tata Motors also announced a price increase of up to 5% on its commercial vehicles starting from April 1, 2023. “The decision to increase prices is a result of the company's efforts to comply with the more stringent BSVI phase II emission norms,” said Tata Motors in an exchange filing. “As Tata Motors transitions its entire vehicle portfolio to meet these standards, customers and fleet owners can expect a range of cleaner, greener, and technologically superior offerings that deliver higher benefits and lower total cost of ownership,” added Tata Motors. At the same time, <keyword id="1381889" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="honda-cars-india" source="Orion">Honda Cars India</keyword> also increased the price of its entry level compact sedan, the Amaze, by up to ₹12,000 effective April 1. Joining the trend, two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp also made an upward revision in the ex-showroom prices of its select motorcycles and scooters by up to 2%. “The price revision has been necessitated mainly due to cost increases on account of OBD 2 transition,” said the automaker. The scooter maker also highlighted that the rural markets have been witnessing an upswing in demand, “thanks to the government schemes in the social sector and healthy agricultural outputs.'' Tata Motors to increase price of its commercial vehicle segment from July 1

Automobile maker Tata Motors' subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility on Monday signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with <keyword id="106216" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ford-india" source="Orion">Ford India</keyword> and the government of Gujarat for takeover of Ford's passenger vehicle manufacturing facility at Sanand. The MoU included land and buildings; vehicle manufacturing plant; machinery and equipment; and besides transfer of all eligible employees of Ford India's Sanand's vehicle manufacturing operations, subject to the signing of definitive agreements and receipt of relevant approvals, the automaker said in a regulatory filing. The Ford India vehicle manufacturing site at Sanand is a state-of-the-art site. Tata Motors' arm would invest into new machinery and equipment which is necessary to commission and make the unit ready to produce its vehicles. With the proposed investments, it would establish an installed capacity of 300,000 units per annum, which would be scalable to more than 400,000 units, the filing said, adding it would take a few months time. Notably, the unit is adjacent to the existing manufacturing facility of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles at Sanand, which it believes will help in a smooth transition. "Tata Motors has had a strong presence in Gujarat for more than a decade with its own manufacturing facility at Sanand. This MoU further reinforces our commitment to the state by creating more employment and business opportunities. Rising customer preference for passenger and electric vehicles made by Tata Motors has led to a multi-fold growth for the company over the past few years," said Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. This potential transaction will support expansion of capacity, thus securing future growth and opportunity to further strengthen the company's position in the passenger and electric vehicles space, Chandra said. The MoU will be followed by signing of the definitive transaction agreements between Tata Motors' arm and Ford India over the next few weeks, the filing added.
