<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/jlr-unveils-range-rover-velar-thanks-ratan-tata-for-showing-faith/articleshow/57430509.cms">Tata Motors</a>, India’s largest automobile manufacturer headquartered in Mumbai, has launched its much awaited compact sedan Tigor at an introductory price ranging from Rs 4.7 lakh to Rs 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). 
 
Powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.05 litre diesel engines, the new car is priced Rs 65000 to Rs 83,000 lower than Swift Dzire, one of the most popular models from market leader <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/topic/Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</a>. 
 
The prices are even Rs 20,000 lower than the hatchback <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/marutisuzuki-swift-2017-has-been-creatively-copied-from-at-least-5-different-cars-heres-the-proof/articleshow/56315268.cms">Swift</a> and Rs 58,000 lower than Maruti Baleno.

Tigor comes with features like LED Tail Lamp, projector headlamp, dual tone interiors, touchscreen Infotainment system, multi-drive mode, fully automated climate control. All these features, along with airbags and ABS packed on the higher variants, usually come in cars falling one segment above.

Tata Motors’ compact sedan Tigor launched for Rs 4.7 lakh

<keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, India's largest automobile manufacturer, said its domestic operations might not post profit for the fiscal year that ended in March. 
 
The company’s performance was hurt by slowing economic activity, weak consumer sentiment, increasing competition and high interest rates, Tata Motors said in a notification to the stock exchange on May 27. 
 
The company's Indian operations posted a profit of Rs 300 crore ($51 million) in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013, a 75% fall from the previous year. 
 The automaker, part of the diversified Tata conglomerate, has tried to make up for the weak performance at home and grown more reliant on its luxury <keyword id="6354362" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Jaguar-Land-Rover">Jaguar Land Rover</keyword> unit over the past two years. 
 
In a bid to improve its performance, Tata Motors has also planned to launch new passenger vehicles in July this year. 
 
However, the company has not revealed much information about its plan. 
 The vehicle-maker also announced in February that it would roll out its <keyword id="2217783" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bolt-hatchback">Bolt hatchback</keyword> and <keyword id="2217784" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Zest-compact-sedan">Zest compact sedan</keyword> in the second half of the year.

​Tata Motors’ India Operations May Not Post Profit

Tata Motors today announced a partnership with <keyword id="6355500" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ceat">CEAT</keyword> and <keyword id="6357120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="PayTM">Paytm</keyword>. The later would partners in Tata’s Loyalty Programs- Tata Delight and Tata Emperor. 
 
The Loyalty programs are designed to offer loyalty benefits for members from across several product segments. The alliance will enable customers to collect and redeem reward points as they buy CEAT tyres, or conduct transactions on Paytm or with other Tata loyalty program partners. 
 
Tata Motors Senior Vice President (Commercial-CVBU), R. Ramakrishnan said, "At Tata Motors; we constantly endeavor to delight our customers. Tata Motors joins hands with Paytm and CEAT

The Tata Group has geared up to meet challenges like slowdown in some areas and exponential growth and opportunities in other sectors. 
 
To meet its requirements, the group has roped in headhunters to appoint people at key posts like MD and CFO. 
 
People in knowhow of the matter told Economic Times that a reputed search firm was appointed to hunt for an MD of Tata Motors. 
 
Tata Motors, India's largest truck and bus maker, has been leaderless since the death of Karl Slym in January last year. 
 
DHR International, which is supposed to possess expertise in identifying key talent for automobile companies, is leading the search. 
 
The financial daily reported that Indian partner of a global search firm has also been asked to shortlist candidates for the post of Tata Motors chief financial officer as the incumbent C Ramakrishnan will be retiring in June this year. 
 
"We will announce the details for the new managing director and for the chief financial officer once we have made these appointments," a Tata Motors spokesperson told ET in an emailed response, adding "We do not have any additional comments on these at present." 
 DHR International is also looking at internal candidates for the post of chief financial officer of <keyword id="46894" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Sons">Tata Sons</keyword>, the group holding company. 
 
ET reported that for nearly two decades, Ishaat Hussain was among the few financial whiz kids in the Tata Group having led the finance functions in both Tata Steel and Tata Sons. 
 
But in 2012, he became the non-executive director at Tata Sons and the group has been examining various alternatives since then. 
 
A top official close to the situation told the financial daily that two internal candidates have been shortlisted and a decision could be made soon. 
 
These candidates are Praveen Kadle, the 54-year-old managing director of Tata Capital who was earlier the chief financial officer of Tata Motors, and Koushik Chatterjee, group executive director (finance and corporate) of Tata Steel. 
 
"These matters are internal to the company. As and when we have an announcement to make, we will inform you," a Tata Sons spokesperson told ET in an emailed response. 
 
Meanwhile, Tata Motors needs a strong leader capable of overhauling the organisation to develop new products and compete with multinationals.

Tata Group on a lookout for people at key posts, ropes in search firms

Continuing with the expansion plans in <keyword id="6354759" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bangladesh">Bangladesh</keyword>, auto major <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> has launched its PRIMA range of heavy commercial vehicles in association with <keyword id="133145" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nitol-Motors">Nitol Motors</keyword> in the South-Asian country. 
 The launch of the PRIMA range is an important milestone for Tata Motors' expansion in the SAARC region, said <keyword id="4616693" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ravi-Pisharody">Ravi Pisharody</keyword>, Tata Motors Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit. 
 
As a market leader in Bangladesh, the company is committed to the growth of commercial vehicle industry with the latest global technologies, "giving Bangladeshi customers competitive business advantages", he added. 
 
The company’s partnership with Bangladesh-based Nitol Motors has grown over the years to make Tata Motors the largest commercial vehicles brand in Bangladesh, said R T Wasan, head, International Business, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit. 
 
"The launch of the new generation range of Tata Prima trucks will be another step to enhance the range of product offerings and further strengthen the Tata Motors' brand position in Bangladesh," he added. 
 
Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company with consolidated revenues of Rs 2,32,834 crore in 2013-14, has already launched the Prima range in various countries, including Kenya, Oman, the UAE and Qatar.

Tata Motors says Namaste to Bangladesh with the Prima

Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer on Friday announced that Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has signed a definitive agreement with its fully owned subsidiary, <keyword id="15809114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="TML-Smart-City-Mobility-Solutions" source="Orion">TML Smart City Mobility Solutions</keyword> Ltd. for operation of 921 electric buses in the capital city of Karnataka. As part of the agreement, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd. will supply, operate and maintain 921 units of 12-metre low-floor electric buses for a period 12 years. Tata Starbus Electric is an indigenously developed vehicle with superior design and best-in-class features for sustainable and comfortable commute. Commenting on the announcement, G. Sathyavathi, IAS, Managing Director, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation said: "We are confident that the induction of the zero-emission, eco-friendly buses will benefit all stakeholders and help in curbing air pollution. Tata Motors shares tank 4.8% on Q2 miss, JLR’s recovery delays

While announcing its earnings, the company said that demand remains strong for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and India passenger vehicle business while commercial vehicle demand improves gradually. However, semiconductor issues and commodity inflation continue to impact Tata Motors near term performance. “The performance is expected to improve gradually starting in H2 [second half of FY22] as both the supply chain and the pandemic situation improves,” said Tata Motors. Tata Motors posted its highest-ever quarterly retails in Q3 FY23 and crossed the 50,000 units of monthly retail for the first time,” said Shailesh Chandra, managing director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. In terms of cars sold, Tata Motors reported a 17.7% YoY increase in its domestic sales to 2.23 lakh units in Q3, even though exports nearly halved to 5,168 units from 10,103 units a year ago. Steady commercial vehicle demand helped the company register a rebound in its Indian business. “In Q3 FY23, the commercial vehicle industry witnessed a steady, overall demand.  Tata said it will be ready to close down its Pune plant by Tuesday. In addition, most employees will still get their wages. Tata Son Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced that all temporary and daily wage workers would be covered from March and April, even if they are unable to come into work due to self-isolation or quarantine.

 HUL - India largest packaged consumer goods company HUL has its fingers in a lot of pies, but none is more important than soaps and disinfectants right now. In a bid to help fight the covid-19 infection, the company announced that its slashing the prices on all personal cares and home hygiene brands by 15%. This includes Lifebouy hand-sanitizers and hand wash, as well as Domex floor cleaners.

 It’s also ramping up production of these items so that there is enough supply in the market as customers rush to stores to stock up on supplies.  Tata Motors' wholly owned subsidiary -- <keyword id="42034" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jaguar">Jaguar</keyword> <keyword id="44719" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Land-Rover">Land Rover</keyword> -- gets a substantial chunk of its revenues from sales in China, where both the economy and the <keyword id="35199" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="stock-markets">stock markets</keyword> are undergoing a period of strong volatility. Authorities shut down parts of Chinese stock markets after the main index slumped an additional 5 percent in early deals today. The Chinese economy is slowing down, which in turn is affecting overall demand in the world's second biggest GDP. 
 
Tata Motors, meanwhile, hit its lowest level since April 2014. Its Futures were the second most active counter on the F&amp;O market, with a loss of 6.8 percent, or 29.25 rupees, at 403.95.

As a consequence, PFC rose 2.8 percent to 233 rupees and REC added 3.4 percent at 261.85 rupees. 
 BANK STOCKS: Private sector lender Axis Bank and PSU powerhouse Bank of Baroda led the sector higher after the <keyword id="6356435" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="US-Federal-reserve">US Federal Reserve</keyword> delayed its much feared interest rate rise as it felt the timing was not right as of now. Axis Bank gained 4.5 percent to 516.35 rupees and Bank of Baroda added 7.45 rupees at 190 rupees. 
 
TATA MOTORS: India's largest vehicle maker fell 2.5 percent to 329.50 rupees after group company Tata Steel sold 3.85 crore Tata Motors' shares to institutions at a price of 324.67 rupees each, raising more than 1,260 crore rupees. The sale price was at a slight discount to the current market price. 
 
ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK INDIA Ltd.: The nation's top FM radio company rose 5.6 percent to 691.70 rupees after it won licenses to launch operations in 7 cities, which are Chandigarh, Kochi, Kozhikode, Jammu, Srinagar, Guwahati and Shillong. The auction was the phase III of auctions for radio waves. 
 <keyword id="3061651" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ARSS-INFRASTRUCTURE-Ltd-">ARSS INFRASTRUCTURE Ltd.</keyword>: Roads construction company ARSS Infra gained 0.5 percent to 32.30 rupees after it announced it had bagged a 148 crore rupee order to execute a roads project in Odisha. 
 
GMR INFRASTRUCTURE Ltd.: Rose 3.7 percent to 12.70 rupees after its group company GMR Energy won gas allocations for 2 of its units in Andhra Pradesh.
