<keyword id="42747" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="Orion">Tata Motors</keyword> completed onboarding 500,000 vehicles onto the connected vehicle platform (<keyword id="213713" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="cvp" source="Orion">CVP</keyword>) that caters to its entire range of commercial, passenger and electric vehicles, <keyword id="80005" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tata-elxsi" source="Orion">Tata Elxsi</keyword> said on Wednesday. In early 2019, Tata Motors collaborated with Tata Elxsi to adopt and adapt the <keyword id="2762594" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tether" source="Orion">Tether</keyword> connected vehicle platform (CVP) towards a common standard technology stack to deliver scalability, differentiated features, high performance and expandable to Industry 4.0 to transform their internal operations, according to a statement from Tata Elxsi shared with exchanges. This would help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) convert data and insights into enhanced customer experience, lower costs, and monetisation, the company said. Tether, Tata Elxsi's connected vehicle platform (CVP), is a cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) data platform that enables automotive customers to offer a range of customer-centric and digitally-enhanced features. With customer-centric features, the CVP aims to improve the user's comfort, convenience, and safety, the company statement said. Automotive customers means companies in the territory that are original equipment manufacturers of passenger cars or light trucks. Tata Motors deployed the Tether CVP under the brands of Fleet Edge for commercial vehicles, iRA for passenger vehicles and Zconnect for electric vehicles, which offer features like track and trace, geo-fencing and alerts, driver behaviour monitoring, fuel-efficiency monitoring, Tata Elxsi said. In addition, they enable secure and selective access to the platform and relevant data with its wider partner ecosystem, including dealers, and suppliers, to enrich customer experience. Tether CVP was built as a modular platform, which can be scaled up to offer a wide range of solutions with third-party applications through application programming interfaces (APIs). Tata Motors brings 500,000 vehicles onboard its data platform Tether

New Delhi, Feb 17 () Design and technology services firm Tata Elxsi on Monday announced partnership with group firm Tata Motors for developing a unified connected vehicle platform. The partnership will aid Tata Motors, which is in the process of offering connected vehicle feature as a key differentiator to most of its BS-VI range of passenger and commercial vehicles, the company said in a statement. Through a collaboration, Tata Motors and Tata Elxsi developed a cloud-based internet of things (IoT) platform that provides the automobile major with a common standard technology stack that delivers the scalability and high performance required to support the entire range of electric, commercial and passenger vehicles, it added. This unified cloud native approach will enable data and analytics synergies for Tata Motors, across product development, customer use cases, dealerships, allied businesses and service networks, enabling innovations in customer experience, offerings, services and business models, the statement said. Tata Motors' Nexon EV is the first application-enabled vehicle, with a number of connected vehicle features, it added. Commenting on the partnership, Tata Elxsi Managing Director and CEO Manoj Raghavan said the connected vehicle programme will help unify and synergise data through a common digital services platform enabling completely new services, innovative business models and enhanced customer experience. Top stock movers — Future Retail, INOX, PVR, Tata Elxsi, MTNL, Ashok Leyland and others

New Delhi, Jan 13 () Tata Elxsi on Monday said its net profit has increased 14.2 per cent to Rs 75.42 crore for the December 2019 quarter.
 The company had registered a net profit of Rs 65.99 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Elxsi said in a regulatory filing.
 Its revenue from operations rose over 4 per cent to Rs 423.43 crore for the said quarter from Rs 407 crore for the corresponding period a year ago, it added.
 Software development and services contributed Rs 409.8 crore, while system integration and support services accounted for Rs 13.63 crore of the said quarter's revenue.
 In a statement, the company said it had reported all-round quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) growth across key verticals, business divisions and geographies in the reported quarter.
 The transportation vertical grew 10.4 per cent q-o-q, while healthcare grew faster at 40.6 per cent.
 Media and Communications delivered steady growth at 5.3 per cent q-o-q. The design business also showed strong growth at 9.9 per cent q-o-q.
 "This is a great quarter for the company with the highest ever top-line in its history with double-digit growth in transportation and Healthcare verticals," Tata Elxsi CEO and Managing Director Manoj Raghavan said.
 This performance was led by strong execution and ramp-ups in large deals won in the previous quarters along with the addition of leading customers and wins in the electric vehicles, medical devices and the OTT segments, he added. SR SHW

New Delhi, Dec 18 () Shares of various Tata Group companies on Wednesday plunged up to 4 per cent after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) restored Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons Chairman.
Tata Global Beverages tanked 4.14 per cent, Tata Coffee plunged 3.88 per cent and Tata Motors dropped 3.05 per cent on the BSE. Tata Motors was the top loser among the BSE Sensex constituents.
Also, Indian Hotels Company dipped 2.48 per cent, Tata Chemicals fell 1.65 per cent, Tata Investment Corporation 1.22 per cent and Tata Power Company 0.98 per cent.
In contrast, Tata Consultancy Services stock rose marginally by 0.07 per cent, Tata Metaliks gained 2.07 per cent, Tata Communications 1.68 per cent, Tata Elxsi 1.53 per cent, Tata Steel 1.16 per cent and Titan Company 0.09 per cent.
 In a big win for Cyrus Mistry, the NCLAT on Wednesday restored him as executive chairman of Tata Sons and ruled that appointment of N Chandrasekaran as the head of the holding company of salt-to-software conglomerate was illegal.
 The NCLAT however stayed the operation of the order with respect to reinstatement for four weeks to allow Tatas to appeal.
Mistry, a scion of wealthy Shapoorji Pallonji family, was in a coup removed as Chairman of Tata Sons in October 2016. 
Mistry, whose family owns 18.4 per cent stake in Tata Sons, challenged his removal in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

Various Tata Group stocks tank after NCLAT restores Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons head

New Delhi, Dec 19 () Shares of various Tata group companies on Thursday bounced back to close with gains of up to 3 per cent a day after an NCLAT ruling that reinstated Cyrus Mistry as chairman of main group holding company Tata Sons sent the stocks down.
 Various group companies remained under pressure till morning trade, falling by up to 2 per cent.
 However, buying emerged towards the close of trade and most of these companies settled the day with gains. 
Among the gainers, Tata Consultancy Services climbed 2.83 per cent, Tata Motors jumped 2.55 per cent, Tata Coffee rose 0.98 per cent, Tata Global Beverages 0.67 per cent, Tata Steel 0.48 per cent, Tata Metaliks gained marginally 0.17 per cent, Titan Company 0.07 per cent and Tata Communications 0.01 per cent on the BSE. 
 In contrast, Indian Hotels Company fell 2.03 per cent, Tata Elxsi went lower by 1.40 per cent and Tata Investment Corporation declined 0.43 per cent.
Various group scrips had fallen up to 4 per cent in the previous trade after the order.

Hasan held the post of Managing Director of Tata in Europe from 1999 to 2013. He played a major role in the growth of Tata's UK investments in the process. This includes the accretion of Tetley Tea, Corus Steel, INCAT International and Jaguar Land Rover. 
 
Hasan’s other contributions include the growth of Tata Consultancy Services, Taj Group, Tata Communications and Tata Elxsi in Britain. This has led to Tata now being one of the country's largest manufacturers. 
 
He has also improved British-Indian trade by pusing some joint ventures to introduce British companies to the Indian market.

"There are 19 independent Tata companies in the UK, with diverse businesses. Each company continuously reviews its strategy and operations in the light of developments, and will continue to do so," read a statement from Tata Sons. 
 
"Access to markets and skilled workforce will remain important considerations," the statement added.

This could be cited to the Indian conglomerate's huge exposure to UK. 
 
Specifically, Tata Motors stocks fell 12.9%, Tata Steel tanked 10.89%, TCS plummeted 4.81%, Tata Elxsi dipped 9.21%, Tata Global Beverages saw a fall of 7.26%, Tata Chemicals drubbed 5.72% and Tata Communications went down by 5.34%.

He was an Irish by nationality as his mother was Irish.</li><li>He was the second son of billionaire and construction magnate <keyword id="6689214" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pallonji-mistry" source="Orion">Pallonji Mistry</keyword> and his elder brother is <keyword id="844645" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shapoor-mistry" source="Orion">Shapoor Mistry</keyword>. He served as director on Tata Elxsi between 1990 and 2009 and was also a director on Tata Power board till 2006.</li><li>In 2013, Mistry was appointed chairman of Tata Sons and was also appointed chairman of several other Tata group companies. </li><li>Cyrus Mistry was married to Rohiqa Chagla, the daughter of lawyer Iqbal Chagla and granddaughter of jurist MC Chagla. It was his father in law that strategized his entire legal battle against Tata Sons. </li><li>Mistry has two sons – Firoz and Zahan Mistry.</li><li>Mistry was known to be a soft spoken and gentleman who believed he had to fight for his honour after he was evicted in an ugly boardroom battle.</li></ol>
