New Delhi, <keyword id="7636498" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Consumer-Products" source="Orion">Tata Consumer Products</keyword> Ltd (TCPL) on Wednesday reported a 29.67 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 358.57 crore in the first quarter ended June 30 on the back of a strong growth in its domestic business. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 276.51 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, TCPL, earlier known as Tata Global Beverages Ltd, said in a BSE filing. Its revenue from operations was up 12.45 per cent to Rs 3,741.21 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 3,326.83 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. "Revenue from operations increased by 12 per cent as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, mainly driven by strong growth of 16 per cent in India business, 3 per cent in international business and 5 per cent in non-branded business," TCPL said in an earnings statement. The "profit before exceptional items and tax at Rs 495 crore is higher by 23 per cent reflecting strong growth in the India branded business and improved performance in international and non-branded business," it said. Total expenses of the Tata Group FMCG arm stood at Rs 3,304.36 crore, up 11.68 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal compared to the year-ago period. TCPL's total income in the June quarter was at Rs 3,798.96 crore, up 12.99 per cent. In the June quarter, TCPL's overall branded business was up 13.11 per cent to Rs 3,372.75 crore. It was at Rs 2,981.82 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. TCPL's branded businesses include tea, coffee, water and other various value-added business. Its revenue from the Indian market in the branded business was at Rs 2,477.93 crore, up 15.51 per cent. In the coffee segment, it continued the strong performance with a revenue growth of 21 per cent in the domestic market. "For the quarter, the India foods business delivered 24 per cent revenue growth and 6 per cent volume growth," the company said. Revenue from its non-branded business, which includes plantation and extraction business for tea and coffee, was at Rs 377.05 crore, up 7.2 per cent in the June quarter. Tata Starbucks -- a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Consumer Products Ltd and Starbucks Corporation -- also recorded "strong revenue growth" of 21 per cent in the June quarter. TCPL Managing Director &amp; CEO Sunil D'Souza said that during the June quarter, it saw positive results from the interventions put in place for the branded tea business, which grew volumes for the second consecutive quarter. "We continue to maintain volume growth momentum in Salt, despite the pricing actions taken earlier to manage inflation," he added. The company continued to accelerate innovation across categories with a number of new launches to expand our total addressable market. "Our growth businesses (Tata Sampann, Tata Soulfull and NourishCo ) continued their strong growth trajectory, they grew by 58 per cent this quarter and accounted for 20 per cent of the India branded business. Tata Starbucks continued to deliver a strong performance along with store expansion," he said. Shares of Tata Consumer Products Ltd on Wednesday settled at Rs 874.10 on BSE, up 0.67 per cent from the previous close.

Tata Consumer Products Q1 2023-24 net profit rises 30% to Rs 358.57 crore

New Delhi, May 14 () Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) on Thursday reported a net loss of Rs 122.48 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2020. The company, earlier known as Tata Global Beverages Ltd, had posted a net profit of Rs 35.99 crore in the January-March period a year ago, it said in a BSE filing. Net sales rose 35.45 per cent to Rs 2,405.03 crore during the quarter under review, as against Rs 1,775.46 crore in the year-ago period. TCPL Managing Director and CEO Sunil D'Souza said, "Nearly all our businesses have recorded good growth during the quarter. It has in many ways, been an unprecedented time for the organization in recent months and we geared up successfully to make sure our essential products reach consumers during this period." The company was able to adapt quickly to changes in consumer trends and buying behaviour through our delivery channels, he added. Total expenses stood at Rs 2,179.41 crore, compared to Rs 1,649.65 crore earlier, up 32.11 per cent. After merging the consumer products business of Tata Chemicals with Tata Global Beverages, the company was renamed TCPL. It owns brands like Tata Salt, Tata Tea, Tetley, Eight O'Clock Coffee and Himalayan water. "This is the maiden result of the combined entity," the company said. During the January-March quarter of this fiscal, TCPL's revenue from its India beverages segment was at Rs 754.83 crore, while the domestic food business stood at Rs 524.44 crore. "For the full year, on a like to like basis, the India foods business clocked a 12 per cent revenue growth. For the quarter, the business registered a 9 per cent revenue growth," it said. Its international beverages segment reported a revenue of Rs 874.41 crore as against Rs 821 crore in Q4 FY2018-19. "During the financial year, International Beverages business grew by 0.4 per cent on constant currency basis (excluding Czech which we exited this year). For the quarter, the business registered a 7 per cent revenue growth," it said. There was growth in Q4 across Tetley, Eight O'Clock brands and private labels in the international markets of US, UK and Canada, driven by consumers bulk buying to stock pantries, it added. For the full fiscal 2019-20, TCPL's net profit was Rs 460.11 crore, up 0.68 per cent from Rs 456.98 crore in the previous year. Net sales in the fiscal stood at Rs 9,637.42 crore, up 32.90 per cent, compared to Rs 7,251.50 crore in 2018-19. "Going forward, we will leverage the learnings from this period to accelerate growth and deliver value to our consumers," D'Souza said. In a separate filing, Tata Consumers said its board on Thursday recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.70 per equity share for the financial year 2019-20. "The Dividend, if approved by the members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM), will be paid after the AGM," it said. Staying connected to the changes in the Indian consumer landscape and their buying patterns is a top priority for us during as well as post the national lockdown. In addition to this, there are a few more things which are critical- The Relevance of Advertising: Post COVID-19, the question that every marketer was having – whether to advertise or not; if yes, what should be the communication.Our stance is to advertise only if we are able to add relevant value to the consumers’ lives. Being in the middle of a global health and economic crisis, empathy with consumers is more important than ever. The brands which have forged meaningful relationships with consumers would seldom hard sell and instead look at offering genuine solutions that add value to their life. We have shifted our focus towards more content-driven communication and acts vis-à-vis the regular advertising during this time. Innovations to meetemerging Consumer Asks:This global health crisis haspushed every business to rethink their offering to the customers. There is a definitive change in the way consumers buy and the way companies sell. We too are focused on creating offerings that address this new shift and new consumer needs. Q) What kind of communications have you been putting out? How have you been ensuring that whatever you put out is relevant to the times we're living in right now? Our communication strategy during this time has been to partner the consumers during these hard times. For Tata Sampann, Indian nutrition backed by science is at the core of the brand. We always aim to provide ‘Sarvagunn Sampann’ i.e. wholesome nutrition to our consumers. The conversations around physical, mental, and emotional well-being during the on-going lockdown are critical to helping consumers remain unscathed. With digital becoming a primary medium to connect with consumers, we launched two digital-first communications for our consumers during the lockdown. The first, ‘Beat the Lockdown’ was aimed at helping consumers stay fit and nourished throughout the lockdown help of a nutritionist, yoga coach, and psychologist. This was a three-week digital forward campaign for us, with expert lives almost everyday around issues people are facing during lockdown related to nutrition, mental and physical health,and giving out simple remedies to it. Our second campaign was ‘Har Din Haldi, HarGhar Healthy’ that focused on helping consumers building Immunity through the everyday Indian spice- Turmeric.We created cool, new ways of using turmeric every day. This was followed by around 375+ recipes curated from user- generated content. We also sampled Tata Sampann Turmeric with Pride of Cows mil in Mumbai. Idea was to stress the importance of haldi-doodh for immunity. The response has been terrific- with over 6.7 crore engagements on various social media platforms for Tata Sampann. In these changing times, we understand that parents are constantly looking for interesting ways to keep their children engaged and productive at home. Hence being ‘DeshkaNamak’, we launched Tata Salt IQL (India Quizzing League) - a daily format quiz to keep kids mentally active and helping them learn more about ‘Bharat’ positively. This initiative met with success as we on-boarded 350,000 participants in a span of just seven days. While these campaigns were our mainstay communications during the lockdown, we will also be launching further communications for Tata Salt and Tata Sampann alike in the coming months. Also with sanitation being one of the key focus across, we have amplified conversations on products like Tata I-Shakti Cooking Soda that helps in cleaning fruits and vegetables thus aiding hygiene. Our focus is to create educative and engaging content than on advertising and hard sell. Q) Have you witnessed any interesting consumer trends during this period? With the growing concerns over food safety and quality, there is a revival in the traditional Indian food wisdom. Be it haldi doodh, home- cooked meals, etc.There is a higher awareness about food safety and hygiene. We are also witnessing a consumer shift towards products that are not just convenient and easy to store but also healthy and nutritious. Q) Did you tweak your media mix during the lockdown? Have your digital investments gone substantially up during this time? The proportion of investments on digital has significantly gone up during this time. Digital plays a key role in Tata Sampann specifically, as it is an important growth medium for us. Post COVID-19, our focus will continue to be able to connect with our consumers across digital platforms but in newer and more experimental ways. Tata Nutikorner is our nutrition platform that talks about Indian ingredients and their nutritional value through expert voices in the food and health arena. Television again is a platform that is making a strong comeback during this time and is a definite watch out when it comes to the consumption of brand communications. Q) How are you preparing yourself as a brand to function efficiently in the new world? Adapt and Adopt: With the situation changing almost every day, the ability to be agile and adapt will be crucial for a brand. Hygiene and safety above everything: As for the consumer’s safety, nutrition, health, hygiene, and value for money will be a deciding factor when making any purchase. Rethink the Go-to-market strategy:Though E-commerce has become the preferred choice for buying even your essential items, your neighbourhood retail stores will still play an important role. Hence, collaborating with the Government to train the neighbourhoodkirana stores to improve the level of sanitization is going to be equally important. Q)Will the way you market your offerings change in the future? Definitely, the trends and learning during the times of pandemic cannot be ignored and will continue to impact for the next couple of years. We think, given the current market scenario and the fear of this pandemic, the products that focus on nutrition and immunity will be in high demand over regular offerings. Demand for products built on traditional Indian wisdom will increase and as said earlier consumers will take to more of home-cooked meals. In the last two months, e-commerce has grown to the level it would have otherwise taken at least five years, in many markets. India will be no exception. E-commerce and direct to home distribution models will get more prominence over the traditional retail stories due to deep-rooted safety concerns. New-age options, such as selling through AI bots/teleselling, will get more prominence. Human intervention would be encouraged only where it is indispensable. Many of these things were unthinkable in the past, but will become the new normal for many brands. Q) What have your key learnings from this experience been so far? Declutter and focus on what matters:One of the starkest but obvious revelations for us has been how consumers have begun de-cluttering their lives and focusing on only what matters. I think even when it comes to information, consumption of information might be high but I believe they are retaining only those information that matters to them. Safety and Hygiene ruling the roost:In terms of the way they consume products in the post-lockdown era, we expect safety, hygiene &amp; immunity to rule the roost as social distancing has made these factors almost a part of everyone’s daily lives. Acing the digital life: We also are seeing stronger &amp; faster adoption of digital in our lives be it for work or personal needs. Digital will continue to play a critical role for us in the coming days and months. Q) What kind of impact did you see in sales during this time? Any interesting stats to share? Sales have been influenced by how consumer consumption patterns have shifted in the past eight weeks or so. Consumers want to move to the brands that they can trust. We have also seen a significant spike in demand for both Tata Sampann and Tata Salt. Tata Sampann Products like Turmeric and pulses which are high on nutrition and essential in nature have seen a very significant spike during this phase. There is also a stronger demand for nutritious ready -to -cook products too and we have seen sales for those from our portfolio increase in accordance as well.

Marketing in the times of Covid-19: Tata Consumer Products

<ul><li>JLR said that its sales in <keyword id="1334" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="China">China</keyword> fell by 46% in September owing to uncertainty and weak consumer demand in the light of trade tensions and import duty changes. </li><li><keyword id="42747" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> derives nearly 80% of its revenues from JLR. Hence, its results are highly dependent on that of the UK luxury vehicle brand. </li><li>As concerns over a <keyword id="106030" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-China">US-China</keyword> <keyword id="182860" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="trade-war">trade war</keyword> mount, JLR is shutting down production at its facility in Solihull, UK for two weeks. </li></ul>The last few years have been a mixed bag for Tata Motors in terms of commercial performance as its fortunes have been directly tied to its UK luxury car business, <keyword id="6354362" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaguar-Land-Rover">Jaguar Land Rover</keyword> (JLR), which provides a bulk of its revenues and profits. For example, in the year ended March 2018, the unit comprised 77% of Tata Motors’ revenue from automotive operations. When JLR does well, Tata Motors does well and vice versa. As demand has slumped in the UK and Europe amid Brexit uncertainty, JLR had pinned its hopes on the luxury vehicle market in China. Last year, it set up a manufacturing facility in the city of Changshu through a joint venture with Chery Automobile Ltd. The unit posted record sales in China in 2017, with sales up 23% to 146,399 units. However, the US-China trade war has significantly hurt JLR’s sales this year, and by extension, has dragged down Tata Motors’ performance. On 8 October, JLR <a href="https://www.tatamotors.com/force-download/?att_id=zcM4mA1L9Nyxl-jdZaZX7Q==&amp;file=iIX5SvrxPyPB5cb7u10VMw==">announced</a> that its global sales fell by 12% in September, driven by a 46% plunge in sales in China owing to the uncertainty and weak consumer demand in the light of trade tensions and import duty changes. The results caused Tata Motors’ share price on the Bombay Stock Exchange to fall by nearly 14% to ₹186 - the lowest level since mid- 2012. Earlier this year, Tata Motors posted its worst quarterly result since 2009 as JLR’s sales in China plummeted. For the quarter ended June 2018, JLR reported a loss of £210m, causing Tata Motors’ net loss for the period to widen to <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/e11b2867-9ecf-453e-9afd-7188bb09be3e.pdf">₹18.6 billion</a>. As concerns over a US-China trade war mount, Tata Motors is responding to the decline in Chinese demand by lowering production and cutting costs where it can. The Indian carmaker has decided to shut down production at its manufacturing facility in Solihull, UK for two weeks this month. The drop came despite a 2.18% growth in its revenue from operations to ₹13,147.81 crore during the period under review. Its FMCG segment delivered a decent sales growth of 15.4% (YoY), but wasn’t enough to offset the volume decline of 12% in its cigarette segment. The shares of ITC ended 0.54% lower on Friday. Divi’s Labs Drug firm, Divi’ ’s Laboratories, reported a 45.63% rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹519.59 crore for the quarter ended September 30, mainly on account of robust sales. Consolidated total income stood at ₹1,762.94 crore compared to ₹1,492.60 crore for the same period a year ago. The shares of Divi’s Labs ended 0.40% higher on Friday. Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw-led Biocon’s subsidiary, Biocon Biologics, had received a ₹1,125 crore investment from Goldman Sachs. This capital injection will enable Biocon Biologics to make prudent investments in R&amp;D, high-quality manufacturing, as well as, establish a global commercial footprint, the company said. The shares of Biocon ended 0.17% higher on Friday. Lakshmi Vilas Bank Private sector Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) reported a net loss of ₹397 crore in the second quarter ended September 30 due to a rise in bad loans and provisions. Sequentially, the loss widened against ₹112.28 crore in the June quarter of this fiscal. The<a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/industry/banking-finance/made-significant-progress-with-clix-group-says-lakshmi-vilas-bank/2123468/"> bank also said</a> that despite logistical challenges arising due to the COVID-19 situation, the bank has made significant progress with Clix group for the proposed amalgamation of Clix Capital Service and Clix Finance India into the bank. The shares of Lakshmi Vilas Bank ended 0.64% higher on Friday. Voltas Electronics major Voltas reported 25.74% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹79.66 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The company also decided to restructure its business; it would transfer 100% of the B2B businesses to its wholly-owned subsidiary — Rohini Industrial Electricals Ltd (RIEL). The shares of Voltas ended 1% higher on Friday. Vedanta Vedanta reported a 61.8% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹824 crore for the quarter ended September 30, on the back of one-time tax expense. The decline came despite the stellar 33% growth in its revenue to ₹20,804 crore during the quarter under review. The shares of Vedanta ended 0.21% higher on Friday. Tata Consumer Products Tata Consumer Products reported an 18% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹234.33 crore for the quarter ended September 30, helped by an increase in domestic sales and volumes. Its revenue from operations was up 18.50% to ₹2,781.34 crore during the quarter under review. The shares of Tata Consumer Products ended 0.64% higher on Friday. The losses for the quarter have doubled as compared to ₹18.6 billion in the same quarter of last year. Its revenues too have gone down by 8% to ₹608 billion. “Over the past few years we had struck a good balance between managing market dynamics and financial health. However, this time, despite our continuous turnaround effort we could not prevent some impact on our Q1 performance,” said Guenter Butschek, CEO and MD, Tata Motors, in a statement. Tata Motors, like all other auto companies is facing the heat of sales slowdown. Adding to that are from its UK-owned subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover. This subsidiary’s net revenue stood at ₹50.74 billion, 2.8% lower than it was, last year. "The continued slow down across the auto industry due to weak consumer sentiments, liquidity stress and the impact of axle load effect particularly in medium/heavy duty, impacted overall demand,” said Butschek. ‘Adapting to the environment’ Global rating agencies Fitch Ratings and Moody’s both had downgraded Tata Motors with a negative outlook. Jaguar Land Rover’s global sales continued to decline in May with the company reporting a 12% dip in <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/jaguar-land-rover-global-sales-dip-12-in-may-4086381.html">May 2019.</a> In June 2019, its sales dropped by 9.6% year-on-year. Falling Jaguar Land Rover sales widen Tata Motors' losses

The Indian <keyword id="31907" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aviation">aviation</keyword> sector has been buzzing with activity over the last few months. First, the AirAsia debut (in partnership with Tata Group) and announcements stirred the low-cost airlines. Next, the Tata and the Singapore Airlines (SIA) tied up to launch a full-service airline called Vistaar. Jet, which runs the full-service airline Jet Airways as well as the low-cost carrier Jet Konnect, has announced to shut down its low carrier and focus only on full-service airline. But the question is: Is full service the way to go in the Indian airline industry? Are Indian consumers ready to pay that extra premium? 
 
Rough skies 
India’s aviation sector has been going through rough skies. The last few years had the biggest names bleeding in the airline space in India. According to the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) India Aviation Outlook report, the last seven years have been quite challenging for the Indian airline sector with its cumulative total loss (in these seven years) about $10.6 billion. In the FY 2013-2014, the combined loss of the industry stood at approximately $1.7 billion and the situation seems to stay the same with expected combined loss of the industry to be at Rs $1.3-1.4 billion, in FY 2014-2015. 
 
Rougher for <keyword id="2484870" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Full-service-airlines">full-service airlines</keyword> It seems that the turbulent times in the aviation sector have affected the full-service carriers more. <keyword id="6360137" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="kingfisher">Kingfisher</keyword> Airlines’ fall is the first that comes to one’s mind. Jet Airways, too, has been in big trouble with its biggest ever loss net loss in the last few years climbing up to be at Rs 3667.65 crore (FY 2013-2014). The company accrued net loss of Rs 485.5 crore in FY 2012-2013 and Rs 1236.1 crore in FY 2011-2012. Another full-service airline, Air India, posted an annual net loss of Rs 5000 crore in the FY 2013-2014. 
 
And the year was challenging for the low cost airlines SpiceJet too, as it accrued its highest ever annual net loss of Rs 1003 crore this fiscal (FY 2013-2014). This is five times more than its annual net loss of Rs 191 crore in FY 2012-2013. 
 
The only two airlines that have posted profits over the last couple of years are low cost carrier GoAir and Indigo. GoAir has posted approximately Rs 100 crore profit in both financial years. Indigo Airlines posted whopping profits of Rs 787 crore in FY 2012-2013, its current fiscal profits are not available yet experts claim that it had stayed profitable this year too. Clearly, so far, the low cost carriers look to be in a better position over the full service ones. 
 
Not many takers for full-service carriers 
The numbers of various airlines over the last few years indicate that there are not too many takers for full-service carriers, certainly not enough to be profitable. According to the CAPA report, in 2014, so far about 6.1 crore flew domestically. Out of this, only one-third, i.e., 2.2 crore took the full-service carriers Air India and Jet Airways (Kingfisher is grounded for two years). The low-cost carriers flew about 3.9 crore (two-third of the total flyers). 
 
The economic downturn has made not only individual travellers cut costs, but the so-called suave corporate travellers too are cautious about spending. In most cases, companies prefer to book low cost carriers for their executive, barring only the senior most. This has impacted the occupancies of the full service airlines. Unfortunately, the trend is expected to go on meaning challenging times for the full service airlines. 
 
Value for money is what Indian consumers want 
Well, looking at the overall behaviour of Indian consumers across sector, one can easily say that value for money is a key focus for them, especially in the service sector. This means that while a segment of consumers often prefer the cheapest option available, there is a huge segment of consumers which weighs what is it that they are getting out of their money. So they may want a specialized service, better seats, meals, lounge access, etc. and they might be inclined to pay premium for it. But the question is how much premium? And do they really see value out of that premium. 
 
If the Tata-SIA’s Vistaar and the other two full service carrier Jet Airways and Air India can work that equation well along with the right cost structure, they can make space for themselves in this cost driven airline industry.

Is Full Service The Way To Go In Indian Airline Industry?

The board of the company has also approved buyback of 13.12 crore equity shares at a price of ₹105 per share for cash consideration not exceeding ₹1378.05 crore. The shares of NMDC ended 0.96% higher on Tuesday. Wipro Azim Premji-led IT major Wipro announced that it had won a five-year contract for software engineering services fromThoughtSpot. California headquartered ThoughtSpot is a search and Artificial Intelligence-driven analytics platform that helps explore, analyse and share real-time business analytics data easily, the company said in a statement. The shares of Wipro ended 3% lower on Tuesday. Mayur Uniquoters The Board of PVC cloth manufacturer Mayur Uniquoters at its meeting held on November 10 has approved the buyback of 7.50 lakh equity shares for an aggregate amount of ₹30 crore at a price of ₹400 per share. The shares of Mayur Uniquoters ended 5% higher on Tuesday. Tata Power Tata Power posted a 10% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹371 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The company’s total gross debt fell 14% to ₹17,300 crore in the quarter, on a sequential basis. The shares of Tata Power ended 4% higher on Tuesday. GPT Infraprojects GPT Infraprojects bagged an order valued <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/6d0e5316-4749-4d26-b735-80e03d35d8aa.pdf">₹30.2 crore</a> from the government for building a bridge over Yamuna river. The shares of GPT Infraprojects ended 3% lower on Tuesday. Future Consumer Future Consumer on Tuesday reported a consolidated loss of ₹146.83 crore for the quarter ended September 30, led by a steep fall in total income. The company had posted a loss of ₹16.75 crore in July-September period last year. The company’s total income during the period under review fell sharply to ₹244.89 crore as against ₹1,127.17 crore in the year-ago period. The shares of Future Consumer ended flat on Tuesday. Aurobindo Pharma, SpiceJet, Coal India, and LIC Housing Finance Aurobindo Pharma, SpiceJet, Coal India, and LIC Housing Finance are the among others that are slated to report their quarterly earnings today. <keyword id="176328" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tata-coffee" source="Orion">Tata Coffee</keyword> on Tuesday reported a 44.71 per cent decline in consolidated net profit during the December quarter at ₹38.40 crore. The consolidated net profit of Tata Coffee Ltd (<keyword id="150734" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tcl" source="Orion">TCL</keyword>) stood at ₹69.46 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated total income for the quarter witnessed a 19.13 per cent growth during the October-December period at ₹754.76 crore as compared to ₹633.52 crore in the corresponding period the previous year, driven by higher realisations in Eight O'Clock Coffee (EOC) and instant coffee businesses of the company. The company, a subsidiary of Tata Consumer Products formerly known as <keyword id="148911" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tata-global-beverages" source="Orion">Tata Global Beverages</keyword>, stated that the improved price realisations driven by superior product mix in the instant coffee business both in India and Vietnam have aided the company's quarter performance. The operating performance of EOC business was impacted during the quarter under review by higher input and other costs, which are expected to ease over coming quarters, it said. Tata Coffee's Vietnam operations continue to deliver robust sales with improved profitability driven by higher sales of premium products, it said. "The performance of our instant coffee business continues to be robust. Tata Coffee's Vietnam operations continue to be strong with a healthy order pipeline. There is, however, continuing inflationary pressure on costs and impact on instant coffee sales in some geographies. Tata Coffee consolidated Q3 net profit falls 45% to ₹38 crore

New Delhi, Nov 25 () Moody's Investors Service on Monday said that the cost rationalisation of Tata Steel's European operations is credit positive as it will support a turnaround in the private steel major's wholly-owned arm TSUKH's less profitable operations.
 On November 18, Tata Steel outlined a programme to reduce costs and improve product mix at its European operations, which are held by wholly-owned subsidiary Tata Steel UK Holdings (TSUKH), Moody's Investors Service said in a statement.
 "The planned cost rationalisation program is credit positive for both companies because it will support a turnaround in TSUKH's less profitable operations that have dragged on Tata Steel's consolidated credit quality," the statement said.
 The European operations accounted for 35 per cent of Tata Steel's total shipments in the first half of FY20, but they generated only around 2.4 per cent of its reported consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA).
 Although the programme is credit positive and a continuation of the company's efforts to turnaround the European operations, a timely and meaningful improvement in performance is key, the credit rating agency said.
 Sustained weakness in demand from Europe's steel-consuming sectors, global economic slowdown and increasing trade barriers cast downside risks to the pace of credit profile improvement.
 Tata Steel's Indian operations are the cornerstone of the company's strong profitability because these operations are integrated into the production of key raw materials in steel making, which combats the country's slowing steel demand and declining end-product prices.
 Sluggish economic growth with weak demand from automobile, manufacturing, property and construction industries have diminished steel demand in India and caused a decline in end-product prices in the first half. SID ANS

And that it is our endeavour with our social Initiative “Iss Baar #Badon ke liye Jaago Re” which aims to spread awareness and sensitize youth to support the senior citizens during this time. The initiative involves spreading awareness about the need to support the elderly, providing relevant tips, tying up with NGOs and providing a common platform for people to connect with them, and share stories of volunteers to inspire others to act. The initiative is also being supported by influencers, NGOs and experts in senior care management. Q. If the lockdown is further extended, will you be tweaking your marketing strategy further? Right now, our efforts are to ensure that we spread the message and drive genuine change with our social initiative. Since it is aimed at supporting the elderly, who are most vulnerable due to their decreased immunity, this initiative will remain relevant irrespective of the lockdown conditions. In fact, if the lockdown is further extended, then it is even more important to understand and address the medical, psychological and social needs of the elderly whose routine life will be far more disrupted leading them to be most prone to confusion and helplessness. Q. What are a few key learnings for you as a brand in the last few weeks? The most important learning for brands during this crisis is to do something that can genuinely make a positive impact to their consumers/society. During times like these, it becomes important to consumers on ‘how you make them feel’ and whether you can genuinely make a difference in their lives in a meaningful manner. The other learning is to be agile and adapt to changes in consumer patterns which has drastically changed due to ‘restricted lockdown’ conditions but may also continue to evolve and become the ‘new normal’ (even when the lockdown restrictions are eased).
