Smartphone maker <keyword id="2034172" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Oppo-India">OPPO India</keyword> on Wednesday announced that it has conducted a <keyword id="764355" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="5G">5G</keyword> standalone (SA) network trial for Reno6 Series under the 5G SA network environment provided by <keyword id="2003276" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio">Jio</keyword> at its 5G Lab. The trial for the <keyword id="1731609" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Oppo">OPPO</keyword> Reno6 Series yielded highly positive results, the company said in a statement. "Our 5G standalone network trial for Reno6 Series with Jio is part of our in-depth research in the 5G era towards ensuring a better experience for the users," said <keyword id="6923082" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tasleem-Arif">Tasleem Arif</keyword>, <keyword id="45171" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="VP">VP</keyword> and R&amp;D Head, OPPO India. "The successful validation of Reno6 Series devices on the 5G SA network of Jio is testimony to our commitment as a company to bring cutting-edge technology to our customers," Arif added. Reno6 Pro supports 11 5G bands wherein Reno6 is equipped with 13 5G bands. This will trigger the development of the 5G device ecosystem in India for users to experience 5G as and when it's available in India and even in other parts of the world, the company said. SA architecture is one of the mainstream architectures of future 5G networks. The company has been actively laying the foundation for 5G SA network trials through its 5G Innovation lab in India. While most 5G tests in India involved non-standalone models, OPPO developed the solutions on stand-alone platforms -- which meant testing devices with an authentic 5G set-up. The company said that Jio, which is committed to developing the 5G ecosystem in India, offered the 5G standalone network environment for testing these devices. With these initiatives, OPPO aims to ensure that once commercialised every adopter can have a true 5G device experience. According to the report issued by a leading German research institute IPlytics, OPPO is among the top ten companies regarding the number of declared 5G patent families in 2021. It has deployed its 5G standard patents in over 20 countries and regions around the world and filed over 3,900 families of global patent applications, declared over 1,600 families of 5G standard patents to the ETSI, and submitted more than 3,000 5G standard-related proposals to 3GPP, the company said. Reliance Jio, Oppo conduct 5G trials with the Reno 6 series smartphones

This means all the future smartphones phones from Oppo will have three cameras in the back and one front facing camera. This strategy will cover entry-level devices as well as premium products. But since the devices fall into different price segments, there is a cost consideration. The quality and size of the sensors will vary. Oppo’s artificial intelligence (AI) technology According to Arif, Oppo's software and artificial intelligence camera optimisation will try and bridge the gap between the hardware. For instance, 20x zoom on the Oppo Reno 2 — a premium device with a 48 megapixel primary camera sensor — might not necessarily be introduced on an entry level device. But it will use its AI software to ensure that the quality of the photos is not compromised. The company first introduced AI beauty recognition technology on the Oppo F5. By the time they released the F7, AI Beauty 2.0 was launched with 296 facial recognition points. Global software, Indian optimisation "Our software is global but we want to optimise it for the needs of Indian consumers by understanding the local ecosystem," said Arif at Huddle Kerala 2019. Having developed a 100 per cent home-grown and comprehensive broadband solution, which is cloud-native and digitally managed, Jio is at the forefront of the 5G rollout. The Indian government is set to open 5G spectrum auction this year, eying the mass-level 5G roll-out in 2023. Oppo Reno 7 5G price in India has been set at Rs 28,999 for the lone 8GB RAM+256GB storage variant. The device is now available for pre-order. It comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. Under the hood, the device draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There is a 4500mAh battery packed inside the device.

"In 2021, we will carry on this growth legacy with much more innovative products and concepts to make the life of our users even better. Oppo to set up its first 5G innovation lab in Hyderabad

New Delhi, Nov 26 () Chinese smartphone maker OPPO on Tuesday said it has integrated 'Digilocker' service into the latest version of its ColorOS operating system as part of its efforts to ensure safety and security of user data.
 The new operating system, which will start rolling out across OPPO's portfolio of devices later this month, also includes a personal information protection option that lets users protect their personal information from third-party apps.
 "The launch of ColorOS 7 with a revamped interface and enhanced features is a testament to OPPO's continued focus on elevating consumer experience. We are constantly listening to our customers and wanted to empower them to experience the ease and convenience of paperless governance," OPPO India Vice President R&amp;D Tasleem Arif said.
 In line with this endeavour, OPPO has become the first smartphone brand to integrate Digilocker service into ColorOS 7 and has come up with a localised feature called 'DocVault', he added.
 A part of the Indian government's Digital India initiative, Digital Locker allows users to store documents like driving licence and Aadhaar card digitally, instead of having to carry these in physical format.
 "We place utmost importance on privacy protection and securing user data. To this end, we have ensured that the user information will be stored and fetched directly from the government server," he noted.
 ColorOS 7 also has a feature where users can say no to an app that seeks access to contacts. In such a scenario, blank contact information is sent to the third-party app and this does not affect the normal operation of the app.
 Arif said another feature that is aimed at enhancing security is the 'private safe' feature in ColorOS 7 that allows users to transfer photos, videos, audio, and other documents to a "secure zone" on the device that is not accessible by any other app.
 OPPO ColorOS Senior Principal Engineer Manoj Kumar said that the team at OPPO headquarters and the India R&amp;D team worked closely for one year to conceptualise and globally implement ColorOS 7.
 The ColorOS 7 update will be rolled out to over 20 phone models in a phased manner from later this month, covering Reno, Find, F, K, and A series.
