The city-based <keyword id="20208728" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="non-banking-financial-company" source="keywords">non-banking financial company</keyword> had registered a standalone net profit of Rs 111.13 crore, during the corresponding quarter last year. For the financial year ending March 31, 2024, the net profit of the company surged to Rs 571.83 crore, from Rs 388.68 crore a year ago. The standalone total revenue from operations grew to Rs 1,517.50 crore, from Rs 1,234.60 crore in the same period last year. For the financial year ending March 31, 2024, the standalone total income rose to Rs 5,789.57 crore, as against Rs 4,147 crore last financial year. In a statement, the company said it continued to maintain a strong growth momentum in disbursements during FY24, primarily driven by an increase in credit demand, augmented by growth in consumption and increased distribution reach. The company's total Assets under Management (AUM) stood at Rs 25,900 crore in FY24. During the year ending March 31, 2024, the company added over 43 lakh new customers, taking the overall customer base to over 1.40 crore, the statement added. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Yes, you've heard this before: What if <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple">Apple</a> built its own TV set?</li><li>It's an idea that never goes away completely but has never actually happened.</li></ul>Is <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-iphone-mac-products-great-classic-boring-2023-11">Apple</a> going to build a TV?First: Probably not. Second: It would be a terrible idea if Apple did.But for the record, Apple is "evaluating" the idea of an Apple-branded set, reports Mark Gurman, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2024-11-17/how-will-president-donald-trump-s-new-tariffs-affect-apple-products-and-prices-m3lnfx64">Bloomberg's</a> very well-sourced Apple expert.Gurman himself doesn't seem to think there's a meaningful chance that this happens. He made a short, throwaway reference to the idea in his latest column, which focuses primarily on <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tim-cook">Apple CEO Tim Cook's</a> relationship with Donald Trump. (TLDR: Cook became an expert Trump-manager during Trump 1.0 by letting the president-elect do what he wanted in public — <a target="_blank" href="https://www.theverge.com/2019/11/20/20974999/trump-is-lying-about-the-new-apple-factory">like take credit for things he didn't do</a> — while prevailing on him privately to do things Cook wanted Trump to do — namely, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/23/technology/apple-watch-tariffs.html">exempting Apple products from tariffs</a>.)What Gurman thinks Apple is going to do is roll out an "<a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-11-12/apple-home-hub-detailed-apple-intelligence-homeos-square-ipad-like-design?srnd=undefined">AI wall tablet</a>" that people would use in their homes to control smart devices and talk to people in other rooms, etc. — basically, a souped-up intercom/doorbell system using a series of iPad-like devices. But in theory, if that goes well, then maybe Apple will be more interested in chasing an Actual TV Set. (I've asked Apple PR for comment.)The thing is, we've been hearing about Apple and its ambitions to build an actual TV set for a long, long time. And they didn't really make sense at the time, and they definitely don't now. <a target="_blank" href="https://9to5mac.com/2024/11/18/an-apple-television-seems-even-less-likely-now-than-it-did-in-2011/">Ben Lovejoy spells it out here</a>, but the short version is that TV sets are cheap, low-margin commodities.That's why the companies who actually make and sell TVs today are trying to find other ways to make money — namely, by selling ads and apps via the devices, like <a target="_blank" href="https://affiliate.insider.com?h=7f929ec3750e23288aee7ea13888b595ac0f3b547ace99bb832a312c76f501c1&amp;postID=673b8135c711dce4fc82cafa&amp;postSlug=apple-tv-set-report-services-2024-11&amp;site=bi&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.roku.com%2Fproducts%2Froku-tv%3Fsrsltid%3DAfmBOooQlvDlvOmZy9M6IM9jMbVe6GLTIko1EWepcW_fK1_S2pWDCCT7">Roku</a> does. <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/pluto-tv-telly-giveaway-500000-free-tvs-how-to-enter-2023-5">There's even a startup giving away TVs for free</a> in exchange for access to your eyeballs.As Steve Jobs himself reportedly said, per biographer Yukari Iwatani Kane: <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/steve-jobs-no-television-2014-3">TV sets are "a terrible business. They don't turn over, and the margins suck."</a>But, then again, there are many reports that Apple, under Jobs, was indeed interested in building a set. One of them comes from my old colleague <a target="_blank" href="https://www.vox.com/2016/8/31/12732174/apple-tv-steve-jobs-walt-mossberg">Walt Mossberg, who said that in August 2011, after announcing he was stepping down from Apple's CEO, Jobs called him and told him he was going to work on "big strategic things."</a> And a big one was going to be a TV set.Jobs died weeks later. And since then, Apple's TV efforts have been almost entirely focused on programming, not hardware. At one point, the company was trying to build its own version of a pay TV service — similar to what <a target="_blank" href="https://tv.youtube.com/">YouTube TV</a> and others sell today — but <a target="_blank" href="https://www.vox.com/2015/12/9/11621326/why-apple-walked-away-from-tv-for-now">by 2015, it had walked away from that</a>.Apple still sells a dedicated <a target="_blank" href="https://affiliate.insider.com?h=f9750481797a0909547d43fc45704ee02782b2693be93a92232361102c92209a&amp;postID=673b8135c711dce4fc82cafa&amp;postSlug=apple-tv-set-report-services-2024-11&amp;site=bi&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fapple-tv-4k%2F">Apple TV box</a> today, which you can plug into any TV and transform it into an "Apple TV" (you can do the same thing with hardware from many rivals, including Roku, Google, and Amazon). But its real TV push for the past several years is its <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-tv-plus-shows">Apple TV+</a> subscription service, which works on any screen, regardless of who makes it.You can debate whether Apple TV+ is actually successful — <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-tv-plus-streaming-cutbacks-eddy-cue-2024-7">its movie strategy seems … challenged</a> — but it at least makes sense strategically: Apple TV+ is supposed to generate recurring monthly revenue, and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-earnings-service-growth-iphone-drop-antitrust-google-app-store-2024-5">Apple is all about recurring monthly revenue as part of its "services" push</a>.A TV set — even the most awesome TV set — would be a one-and-done proposition for Apple. I'm always happy to be wrong, but I just don't see this one happening.

The Apple TV Set is an idea whose time will never come

New Delhi: <keyword id="19902194" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anil-Ambani" source="keywords">Anil Ambani</keyword> is reviewing a <keyword id="20738747" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sebi-order" source="keywords">Sebi order</keyword> imposing a fine and banning him from capital markets for five years in an alleged fund diversion case and will take appropriate next steps as legally advised, his spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday. <keyword id="19898589" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ambani" source="keywords">Ambani</keyword>, the spokesperson in a statement said, had resigned from the board of <keyword id="21260537" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Infrastructure-Ltd" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reliance Infrastructure Ltd" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Reliance Infrastructure Ltd">Reliance Infrastructure Ltd</keyword> and Reliance Power Ltd, pursuant to Sebi's interim order dated February 11, 2022 in the matter pertaining to Reliance Home Finance Ltd. He "is in compliance with the said interim order (of February 11, 2022) for the last two and half years," the statement said. On the August 22 order that banned him and 24 others from the securities market for five years on charges of diversion of funds, the spokesperson said, "Mr Ambani is reviewing the final order dated August 22, 2024 passed by Sebi in the said matter, and will take appropriate next steps as legally advised." The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had also imposed a fine of Rs 25 crore on Ambani, saying he orchestrated a scheme to "siphon off" funds from Reliance Home Finance, a listed subsidiary of conglomerate <keyword id="20479923" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Group" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reliance Group" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Reliance Group">Reliance Group</keyword> of which he is chairman. The ban means that he and the other 24 will not be able to access the securities market and are prohibited from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in securities, directly or indirectly. In a separate statement, Mumbai-listed Reliance Infrastructure Ltd said it "was not a noticee or party to the proceedings before Sebi in which the order is passed. No directions are given in the order against Reliance Infrastructure Ltd". "Mr Ambani had resigned from the board of directors of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd pursuant to the interim order dated February 11, 2022 passed by Sebi in the same proceedings. Therefore, the order dated August 22, 2024 passed by Sebi has no bearing whatsoever on the business and affairs of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd," it said. Reliance Power, the other listed company of Anil Ambani's group, also issued a similar statement saying Ambani had resigned in 2022 and that the latest Sebi order has no bearing on it. Sebi in the August 22 order had stated that a "fraudulent" scheme "siphoned off" funds from Reliance Home Finance, which provides loans for housing and construction, by structuring them as loans to credit-unworthy borrowers. Most of these borrowers were linked to "promoters", the regulator had said. Anil Ambani and his elder brother Mukesh had in July 2006 split their father Dhirubhai Ambani-created Reliance Industries Ltd. Anil Ambani's Reliance Group spanned financial services, infrastructure and telecommunications while the elder brother got the traditional oil refining and petrochemicals business. Over the last few years, Anil Ambani has seen three of the largest firms within the group, including Reliance Communications, Reliance Capital, and Reliance Infrastructure, undergoing bankruptcy over unpaid debt. Sebi has charged that more than Rs 9,000 crore worth of loans from Reliance Home Finance were made to "nondescript borrowers who had no demonstrable financial ability to repay any of it". The other 24 banned include executives of Anil Ambani's Reliance Group and other unlisted companies connected to him.

Anil Ambani reviewing SEBI order, to take appropriate steps: Statement

<keyword id="20341279" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sbi-cards-and-payment-services-ltd" source="keywords">SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd</keyword> has reported an 8 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 549 crore for the third quarter ended December 2023. The pure-play credit card company, promoted by <keyword id="19898108" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sbi" source="keywords">SBI</keyword>, had posted a net profit of Rs 509 crore during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Total income grew to Rs 4,742 crore during the October-December period from Rs 3,656 crore in the year-ago period, <keyword id="20190417" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sbi-card" source="keywords">SBI Card</keyword> said in a regulatory filing. Total operating cost increased by 23 per cent at Rs 2,426 crore for the third quarter of FY24 from Rs 1,974 crore in the previous fiscal, it said. Gross non-performing assets (NPA) rose to 2.64 per cent during the quarter under review as against 2.22 per cent a year ago. Net NPA too increased to 0.96 per cent from 0.80 per cent at the end of the December quarter of the previous financial year. As a result, impairment losses and bad debt expenses grew to Rs 883 crore from Rs 533 crore in FY23. As of December 31, 2023, the card company's capital adequacy ratio was 18.4 per cent compared to 23.1 per cent as of March 31, 2023. As per the capital adequacy norms issued by the <keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="keywords">RBI</keyword>, the company's capital-to-risk ratio consisting of Tier I and Tier II capital should not be less than 15 per cent of its aggregate risk-weighted assets on the balance sheet and of the risk-adjusted value of off-balance sheet items. Paid streaming's 17.2% share, meanwhile, remained flat.Every industry is dealing with cost-cutting consumers. But FAST's rise isn't just about saving a couple bucks. A new sports streamer's setback could pose problems for the wider media industry and change how we watch TV

<ul><li>While QSRs have been growing aggressively in the last two years, few have been concentrating on dine-in experiences.</li><li>Only McDonald’s run by <keyword id="15483921" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Westlife-Foodworld" source="Orion">Westlife Foodworld</keyword> in India has gained from the trend as it focussed on omnichannel strategy.</li><li>The pizza category – where the product is designed for delivery – suffered the most as dine-ins gained popularity.</li></ul>Indians are wanting to step out for their meals, and that’s hurting quick-service restaurants (QSRs) as well as delivery apps equally. So much so that Swiggy has recently announced that it’s integrating its dine-out offerings onto its platform across 24 cities, allowing users to access discounts as they book via the app. While QSRs have been growing aggressively in the last two years – with a large number of new store openings – few of them have been concentrating on dine-in experiences. And only one chain – McDonald’s run by Westlife Foodworld in India – has gained from the trend as it focussed on the post-pandemic retail trend of an omnichannel strategy. “McDonald’s (Westlife) reported a 20% y-o-y same-store sales growth (SSSG), largely driven by higher guest count and average order value, due to its meals and omnichannel strategy,” said a report by BNP Paribas on the company’s third quarter results. A Credit Suisse report had said last month that McDonald’s offers more meals – across breakfast, coffee and chicken apart from burgers and sides. A larger menu is best suited to bring in footfalls through the day. “Westlife/McDonald’s reiterated their preference for the larger-size, longer-lease store model, which they have successfully figured out; the rest of the listed universe has pivoted to a smaller -store format,” said Credit Suisse. Pizzas: Undelivered growth The pizza category – where the product is designed for delivery – suffered the most. The franchises that run Pizza Hut – Sapphire and <keyword id="142256" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Devyani-International" source="Orion">Devyani International</keyword> – saw a sequential fall in SSSG by 4% and 6%, respectively. Jubilant that runs Domino’s showed almost flat SSSG growth sequentially. “Softer demand continued in the pizza category owing to larger delivery salience, relatively higher penetration and elevated competitive intensity. Pizza Hut posted a q-o-q (quarter-on-quarter) decline in sales, while Domino’s reported flat like-for-like growth of 0.3% y-o-y,” said BNP Paribas. Like-for-like or LFL growth is a metric that indicates revenues of stores with similar characteristics, omitting outliers. KFC witnessed a decline in its ADS (average daily sales per store) both sequentially and year-on-year (y-o-y) due to weak consumer spending and incremental store additions in non-metro cities that typically have lower ADS. While 35% of sales for Domino’s comes from on-premises, for McDonald’s that percentage stands at 52%, for Pizza Hut it’s 41% and for KFC it’s 54%. Moreover, almost all QSRs have been expanding their store numbers but reducing store sizes to make them delivery friendly. So much so, even Pizza Hut, which had started off as a dine-in brand, had changed its strategy to focus on delivery in the last few years to catch up with its closest competitor Domino’s. <div type="image" title="QSR report" msid="98201473" hostid="261" sizebytes="29596"></div> Then there is the slowdown… Apart from changing preferences, Indians also seem to be re-thinking their discretionary spends – which is also eating into <keyword id="6517640" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="QSR" source="Orion">QSR</keyword> business. “The slowdown in discretionary consumption, especially post Diwali, has dampened the strong demand sentiment that QSR players witnessed in the past few quarters. This is attributed to rising inflationary pressures, a cut in household expenses and consumers’ down-trading behaviour,” said a report by BNP Paribas. Moreover, the growth that a majority of consumer companies have foreseen might turn out to be a mirage. “The growth rate for food delivery has slowed down versus our projections (along with many peer companies globally). This meant that we needed to revisit our overall indirect costs to hit our profitability goals,” said Swiggy co-founder and CEO Sriharsha Majety on <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/swiggy-co-founder-says-over-hiring-a-mistake-as-he-fires-380-employees/articleshow/97171514.cms">firing 380 employees </a>in January. To control its falling revenues, Zomato too has exited 225 small cities,<a href="https://in.mashable.com/tech/47163/zomato-exits-225-cities-after-massive-loss-of-rs-346-crores#:~:text=Zomato%20has%20exited%20225%20cities,comes%20from%20its%20loyal%20users."> where performance was not very</a> encouraging according to its CFO, Akshant Goyal. According to a report by IIFL, as many as 820-920 such restaurants will be added every year as most franchises that run the aforementioned brands are looking to double their store count in the next four to five years. “We believe store expansion targets might need to be toned down if the growth remains weak. Owing to the demand and margin softness, street earnings estimates have come off in the last few weeks,” said BNP Paribas. Moreover, there are other challenges dogging them too – rising wheat and cheese prices have been biting into their margins. Muted sales also give them little room for price hikes, which could further pressure sales and margins. When investing in an NCD, buyers have the choice to purchase or sell the instrument and receive interest payments determined by the issuer's fixed interest rate. “But they are more liquid than corporate FD as NCDs are traded in the secondary market on stock exchanges,” says Abhishek Kumar, founder and chief<a href="https://business.outlookindia.com/invest/investment"> </a>investment advisor at SahajMoney, a financial planning firm. Interest rate: Typically, a non-convertible debenture carries a fixed interest rate that has an inverse relationship to how credit worthy the borrower is. An NCD from a highly rated issuer tends to offer a lower interest rate. Credit rating: Each NCD undergoes assessment by multiple credit rating agencies, portraying the issuer's capacity to honour payment commitments. Strong financials and a healthy cash flow of the issuing company result in higher ratings for the issued NCD. Should you invest? One should be very clear about the quality of the NCD, what is the cash flow of the company and what is the risk one is going to take. One should consider the credit rating of these NCDs before investing. However, that may not be foolproof. Do not invest in NCDs just for higher <keyword id="6374680" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="returns" source="Orion">returns</keyword> Investing in NCDs may not be a good idea, even if you are going with a AAA rating, say experts. Certain NCDs have left a bad taste in the mouth off late. One example is that of the default of the Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL) NCD which was AAA rated but was offering a higher interest rate than some AAA rated NCDs. Same was the case with Infrastructure Leasing &amp; Financial Services Limited (IL&amp;FS), whose NCS was also AAA rated. “Even HDFC has a AAA rating , why should someone have to pay you more than the other? So, there is a perceived risk in the NCD which is offering higher returns” says Srinivasan, director and founder, Shree Sidvin Investment Advisors. Numerous NCDs are now being offered at attractive yields as a result of the increase in <keyword id="6371181" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="interest-rates" source="Orion">interest rates</keyword>. “However, one should be well informed about the company in which they want to invest, and they shouldn't base their investment decision solely on the basis of the high yields,” says Raghvendra Nath, MD, Ladderup Wealth Management. So higher interest rates of 9% or so should not be a reason to invest in NCDs. “We do tell our clients that for a difference of 2-3% in interest rate you should not take a principal risk,” says Srinivasan. Thus, when investing in NCDs, it pays to be careful.

That's a pretty good summary of things, and one I've written many times.But also, on the other hand: They're not dead yet.And here to make that argument is <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nielsen.com/news-center/2024/nielsen-launches-the-media-distributor-gauge-first-convergent-tv-comparison-of-its-kind/">Nielsen</a>, which has a new way of tracking attention among media companies — including digital upstarts. And in this version, the TV guys are still sticking around. Many of them, in fact, are doing better than Netflix.For now.The idea is simple: Look at all of the TV time a big media company commands — via its streaming channels, but also its traditional broadcast and cable TV stations — and produce a single metric that measures viewership share.That means, for instance, that Disney doesn't just get credit for ABC and ESPN and its other channels, but Disney+ and Hulu and ESPN+. Paramount gets credit for its streaming channels and its cable networks and CBS. It's merely the 6th biggest media company, behind Disney, NBC Universal, and even Paramount.This also happens, not coincidentally, to mirror the pitch big TV companies are making this week in New York during glitzy presentations for advertisers: We have lots of ways to get your messages to audiences, no matter what screen or service they're using!So that's nice for the TV guys. But it shouldn't make them too comfortable. For starters, as you will have noticed, the No. 2 player in this revised chart isn't a traditional media company but Google's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/youtube-valuation-mrbeast-how-much-worth-2024-3">YouTube — which somehow still doesn't receive enough attention from media chatterers</a>. Even though <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/youtube-not-netflix-is-big-threat-to-hollywood-analysis-2024-2">it's clearly a viewing and advertising juggernaut</a>.Just as important: While it's fair for Nielsen (and the TV guys) to argue that combining traditional TV plus streaming gives them lots of reach, advertisers — the people they're trying to convince with that argument — don't seem to care that much. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsj.com/business/media/streaming-was-supposed-to-rescue-the-ailing-tv-ad-business-it-hasnt-9fa2d855">The overall pool of TV ad dollars continues to shrink, year after year</a>, because that money is chasing eyeballs that aren't watching TV, period. And that won't change no matter how you present the data.

Why the Big TV companies aren't 100% completely screwed. Yet.

<ul><li>Tokenisation is nothing but giving your sensitive information a secret identity. </li><li>When you <keyword id="14220192" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tokenise" source="Orion">tokenise</keyword> something, like a debit or <keyword id="6368202" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="credit-card" source="Orion">credit card</keyword>, you replace the actual details with a unique digital token. </li><li>To make it more convenient to the customers, <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword> has recently announced card-on-file tokenisation or CoF.</li></ul>Many of us would have seen Amitabh Bacchan on television telling us that by tokenising our cards we can make our online transactions more secure and alo get freed from the hassle of entering our card details every time we make a purchase. In fact, many websites will ask you to save your card details which you may not be comfortable with. Tokenisaiton is the answer. “Tokenisation simply refers to the replacement of actual card details with an alternate code called the 'token'. It is used for recurring payments or in cases where merchants have stored the card details for providing faster checkout experience,” says Rahul Jain, CFO, NTT DATA Payment Services India. RBI’s initiative on tokenisation is targeted towards the disablement of card storage at the payment service providers' and merchants' end to ensure better security. “Simply put, tokenisation is nothing but giving your sensitive information a secret identity. When you tokenise something, like a debit or credit card, you replace the actual details with a unique digital token, which is further used while making online transactions, making it secure,” says Gaurav Chopra, founder and CEO of IndiaLends, a digital lending marketplace. Steps to tokenise your card We will look at the steps to tokenise your card. <ol><li>To purchase any products or services and to initiate a transaction, a customer visits e-commerce or a merchant's website. Then select the preferred card options as the payment method and enter all the card details</li><li>In case the website wants the customer to store the card details for a faster checkout experience, there will be an option 'secure your card as per RBI guidelines'. A customer must opt for this option to securely generate a token and have it stored as per RBI guidelines</li><li>To complete the transaction, a customer will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the mobile device or email from the card issuer company.</li><li>Once the OTP is entered on the bank page, the card details are sent for token generation as well as transaction authorization</li><li>Generated token is sent back to the merchant, who then stores the token against the customer identification data eg; mobile number or email address</li><li>When a customer visits the same e-commerce or merchant website, the last four digits of the saved card are shown which helps them to recognize during the transaction. This means that a customer’s card has been tokenised.</li><li>A new token is generated for every merchant website where the card details are required to be stored.The token is now ready for use in subsequent recurring or express checkout payment transactions by consumers on the merchant platform. </li></ol>Source: NTT DATA Payment Services India When you tokemise your card, your card information is not stored by the merchant website. “The genuine payment details of the customer are securely stored by their bank in a protected token vault. Upon receiving the token from the credit card issuer and confirming its match with the account number, the bank verifies the transaction,” says Akash Sinha, CEO and co-founder, Cashfree Payments, a payments and banking platform. Card on file tokenisation “Meanwhile, to make it more convenient to the customers, RBI has recently announced that card-on-file tokenisation (CoF) can now be generated directly at the issuer bank level,” says Jain. This will allow users to generate tokens through their bank’s app or website. Currently, it is not mandatory to tokenise the cards. A customer can choose whether to or not to tokenise his/her card. A customer can continue to transact as before by entering card details manually at the time of initiating the transaction if he/she does not wish to create a token.

According to the global credit rating agency, <keyword id="99389" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="vedanta-resources" source="Orion">Vedanta Resources</keyword>' credit profile will not be weighed down by the group's $20 billion semiconductor manufacturing venture as the investment will be made outside of the company. "The business (semiconductor) will be undertaken in a separate entity under Vedanta Resources' holding company <keyword id="5026635" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="volcan-investments-ltd" source="Orion">Volcan Investments Ltd</keyword>," it said. Any potential credit impact of the planned investments in the semiconductor business will depend on the details of the funding plan, which have yet to emerge, the credit rating agency added. "For example, we could watch out for any change in Vedanta Resources' dividend policy, to support servicing of any debt at <keyword id="4055768" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="volcan" source="Orion">Volcan</keyword> for the semiconductor business. We believe Vedanta Resources will prudently manage its investments so that it does not put debt servicing at risk," S&amp;P Global Ratings said. According to the credit rating agency, the <keyword id="147780" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vedanta-group" source="Orion">Vedanta Group</keyword>'s investments will also likely happen over a long period of time. "Our rating on Vedanta Resources does not assume any material exposure by the company or its key subsidiary, Vedanta Ltd., to the semiconductor business over the next 12-24 months," it said. Vedanta partnering with Taiwanese group Foxconn recently inked an agreement with Gujarat government to set up a semiconductor venture in the state.
