It has fixed a price band of ₹475-500 for the issue. Investors can bid for a minimum of 30 shares and in multiples thereof. This is the first IPO from the House of Tatas in 19 years, after TCS listed on the bourses in 2004. And, it’s also the third biggest IPO to hit the markets this year after Mankind Pharma and Nexus Select Trust. The issue is a complete offer for sale by the promoter Tata Motors, and other investors like Alpha TC Holdings and Tata Capital Growth Fund I. Tata Motors will be offloading 11.4% stake in Tata Technologies, and not the 20% as mentioned in its DRHP earlier. Last month, Tata Motors sold 9.9% stake to TPG Rise-led investors for ₹1,613.7 crore. About the company Tata Technologies is a global engineering research and development (ER&amp;D) company offering outsourced engineering and digital transformation services to manufacturing clients. Its anchor clients include its promoter Tata Motors and its subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover. It also has a clientele in electric vehicles and keen on the growth opportunities in the aviation sector. It also re-sells third-party software applications, and provides value-added services such as consulting, implementation, systems integration and support. It also provides ‘phygital’ education solutions in manufacturing skills in the latest manufacturing technologies. The book running lead managers expressed confidence in the demand from the issue. “Based on the investor meetings, we are confident of good response from retail investors as well as HNIs for the IPO. It’s a high quality business from the Tatas,” Arvind Vashishta, managing director, head of India equity capital markets, Citigroup said at the IPO press conference. Along with Citi, J M Financial and BofA Securities are the book running lead managers of the issue. Link Intime India is the registrar of the issue. Financials &amp; Risk Factors In FY23, the company’s revenue from operations grew 25% and its net profit grew 47% from the year before. Its EBITDA margins also expanded to 18.6% in FY23 from 18.2% in FY22. “We used the growth in topline and margins to build a business with cash flows. We have taken advantage of the growth journey to build efficiencies into the system. Our capital-light business model also helped expand the bottomline,” Savita Balachandran, CFO of Tata Technologies said at the IPO press conference. And any deterioration of their business, it may have a material adverse effect on its business. Apart from entering into related party transactions, it also competes with its group companies like Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Elxsi. It also expects significant revenues to come from new energy vehicle companies, many of them maybe startup companies. “Uncertainties about their funding plans, future product roadmaps, ability to manage growth, creditworthiness and ownership changes may adversely affect our business, financial condition and results of operations,” Tata Technologies said. Its recent expansion of its education business, liability to damages for clients on account of system failures and more; any change in tax holidays to SEZs and licensing agreements with Tata Sons are the other risk factors listed in it. While it has undertaken one criminal proceeding, it has two such proceedings against it along with 17 tax proceedings, and 4 statutory or regulatory proceedings — amounting to ₹141 crore. Its promoter Tata Motors however has undertaken 80 criminal proceedings and 4 material civil litigations amounting to a liability of ₹2,797 crore. It also has 34 criminal cases against it and 817 tax proceedings, one statutory or regulatory proceeding and two disciplinary actions by SEBI or exchanges amounting to ₹4,503 crore.

Tata Technologies IPO to open on November 22, price band fixed at ₹475-500

The company also announced that it would layoff 3500 employees as it sees revenues slowing further in 2023. The Nasdaq-listed company’s March quarter net profit grew 3% on year to $580 million. Meanwhile, its revenue declined 0.3% on year to $4.8 billion during the quarter. The company follows a January to December accounting year. Adding to the woes, Cognizant says full year guidance of 2023 is expected to be $19.2 - $19.6 billion, which would mean a decline of 1.2%. The next quarter revenue is expected to be at $4.83 - $4.88 billion, showing a decline of 0.6% to 1.6%, or a decline of 1.0% to flat in constant currency. Cognizant reported an operating margin of 14.6% for March quarter, which is lower than Indian IT giants TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra. For the full year 2023, the company has guided for adjusted operating margin to be in the range of 14.2%-14.7%. Following the peer IT major’s mixed bag of earnings which expects a decline in 2023 revenues, shares of most Indian IT companies were trading lower. It attributed the move to its NextGen program through which it expects to simplify its operating model and optimise corporate functions. “In the second quarter of 2023, we initiated the NextGen program aimed at simplifying our operating model, optimizing corporate functions and consolidating and realigning office space to reflect the post-pandemic hybrid work environment. Our drive for simplification will include operating with fewer layers in an effort to enhance agility and enable faster decision making,” the company said in a statement. Cognizant has a total headcount of 3.51 lakh in the March quarter, which is a decrease of 3,800 from the previous quarter. Its voluntary attrition rate declined to 23% in Q1 FY23 from 30% in Q1 FY22. "Our accelerated bookings growth in the quarter, which included several large deals and a healthy mix of new and expansion work, reflects the strengths of our services, our brand, and the longstanding relationships we have with our clients. Cognizant braces for slow year ahead, to cut 3,500 jobs and slash office spaces

Credit rating agency <keyword id="125045" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="fitch-ratings" source="Orion">Fitch Ratings</keyword> on Thursday said <keyword id="1417402" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tata-consultancy-services-limited" source="Orion">Tata Consultancy Services Limited</keyword>'s (<keyword id="6357150" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tcs" source="Orion">TCS</keyword>) revenue growth is likely to slow in the financial year ending March 2024 (FY24) amid the global economic slowdown, after strong 3QFY23 results. TCS reported 19 per cent year-on-year (yoy) revenue growth in 3QFY23 and 50bp quarter-on-quarter (qoq) expansion in the EBITDA margin, reflecting continued growth and the company's ability to pass on higher costs to customers, <keyword id="82981" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="fitch" source="Orion">Fitch</keyword> said. Fitch expects TCS's revenue growth to slow to 11 per cent - 12 per cent in FY24 (FY23F: 18 per cent), as Fitch's December 2022 <keyword id="503893" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="global-economic-outlook" source="Orion">Global Economic Outlook</keyword> forecasts US GDP growth to decline to 0.2 per cent in 2023 (2022F: 1.9 per cent) and eurozone GDP growth to decline to 0.2 per cent (2022F: 3.3 per cent), the rating agency said. "We expect a relatively short recession in the US in 2Q23 and 3Q23 but the recovery is unlikely to be rapid with GDP growth still subdued at 1.6 per cent in 2024. We forecast that the Eurozone qoq GDP growth will be negative in 1Q23 before turning positive in the second quarter," Fitch said. TCS received new orders worth $7.6 billion in 3QFY23 (3QFY22: $7.6 billion, 2QFY23: $8.1 billion). The book-to-bill ratio declined to 1.07x in 3QFY23 (3QFY22: 1.17x, historical average since 1QFY19: 1.24x), suggesting some signs of impending slowdown, the credit rating agency said. According to Fitch, its adjusted EBITDA of TCS is expected to remain stable yoy at 25 per cent - 26 per cent in FY24 (FY23F: 25 per cent, 3QFY23: 25.8 per cent) as easing cost pressures are offset by a weakening demand environment. "We expect employee attrition and wage pressures to subside as the global economy slows in 2023 even though TCS's last 12 months' employee attrition remained high at 21 per cent in 3QFY23 (FY19-21 average: 10 per cent), due to the continued shortage of skilled IT labour that led to the increased talent competition," Fitch said. Fitch also expects TCS to generate pre-dividend-free cash flow of Rs 465 billion in FY24 (FY23: Rs 390 billion), which is likely to be almost entirely distributed to shareholders via dividends and share buybacks. "We expect the company to continue to keep a net cash position of more than Rs 400 billion (FY22: Rs 440 billion). We do not expect the company to undertake any major M&amp;A," Fitch added. As regards the Indian information technology sector, Fitch's outlook is stable for 2023. "We expect Indian IT services companies' revenue growth to slightly exceed global competitors' in 2023 and 2024, as customers will most likely prefer lower-cost IT vendors amid an economic downturn," Fitch said. TCS revenue growth to slowdown in FY24: Fitch Ratings

A similar trend was seen in Hyderabad (12%) and Pune (11%) during the same period. His company has called him back to the office - and he has to be present at least twice a week. Since it’s too far for him to make the trip from home, he shifted back to the city and has been living there for the last six months. “I’ve realized that my monthly expenses have increased at least by 20-30% in the last six months. It was comparatively lesser before Covid. I am unable to save anything like earlier,” Sharma told Business Insider India. The expenses of living have grown across the country in the last four months due to food and fuel inflation. Moreso, urban areas are tighter on the pocket, making him look for ways and means to go back home. “If I had the option I would want to move back to my hometown. My expenses over there are quite low,” Sharma further added. Urban migration of white collar workers is very prevalent in India as a significant portion of employees are from tier-2 or tier-3 cities. To cater to this trend, top tech majors like Infosys, Wipro and TCS have opened offices in tier-2 and tier-3 locations like Guwahati, Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur. In the last 18 months, this expansion has intensified. “A large number of our people are working from hometowns. We have looked at it and (want to) ensure that they have opportunities to work closer home. These are not satellite offices. It is at least 1,000 seaters and we will expand them as we go forward. In the next quarter-end, all these offices will be ready,” Krishnamurthy Shankar, group head of human resource development of Infosys told ET. Infosys is <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/information-tech/infosys-sets-up-four-new-offices-in-tier-ii-cities-in-a-bid-to-get-closer-to-talent-pool/articleshow/92186996.cms">setting up new offices</a> in Coimbatore and Vizag, to access the talent pool. Opening offices in tier-2 or tier-3 cities is also beneficial for organizations too. These companies which have been struggling with increased salary hikes, can receive access to a wide talent pool at salaries that are at least 20-30% lower. As of <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/voices/tier-2-and-tier-3-cities-the-sunrise-destination-of-indian-it-industry/">now</a>, about 976 MNCs have set up 1,257 Global In-house Centres (GICs) in India. Of this, only 68 GICs are in tier-2 locations, by Zinnov, a management consultancy. There are more towns which can be tapped, across the length and breadth of this vast country. “Indore, Chandigarh, Warangal, Kochi are some of the tier-2 cities of high potential for the company and it expects to narrow down to two to three cities for launching new offices,” as per Nasscom report. Talking about TCS’ new role as the title partner for the London Marathon, Taylor said, “TCS has been committed to running for years. We've been involved in global running events for over 10 years now, and a partner with London Marathon since 2016. We've had this relationship for a while where we have had the time to understand the event. We always had greater ambitions for the partnership and in running and in what running can do for the community and for TCS. So when this opportunity came about, we couldn't have been more excited to build on a lot of the work that we' had already been doing with the London Marathon and to take on a bigger role and see how we can grow and tell more of TCS’ story through marathoning and through this event.” TCS has developed the official event app and in 2020, the app was updated to support participants in the first virtual London Marathon during the pandemic. This year too, TCS aims at making the overall experience more engaging for participants and spectators. “The app has really being a game changer for the sport. In the past when spectators would come to a marathon event, you've got a 26.2 mile course with 1000’s of runners. Being able to see your person was always left on chance. But this technology helps track the runners which really changed the sport from not just the spectator standpoint, but also for the runners. To be able to hear cheers from their loved ones at the point where they needed it the most on the course to really rallying them across the finish line, it has really been amazing. That's going to continue to be our hero activation across London and we'll certainly continue to do more with it as technology evolves. We really want to enhance the experience.” In 2020, TCS updated the app to support participants in the first virtual London Marathon during the pandemic. The plan is to use digital innovation to further enhance the event experience for all future races which will continue to be a hybrid of physical and virtual events. This year, around 50,000 runners will take part in the main physical event and a further 50,000 will participate in the virtual event. “In 2020, when the pandemic hit and the whole world was trying to figure out how we're going to move forward, technology became the key across all industries on how we would progress and how we could still keep connected. And it was no different in sport and in marathon too. So TCS was able to work with all of our partners, in particular the London Marathon, to really pivot the live event to virtual and be able to deliver this incredible experience to people interested anywhere in the world. And that opened up the doors to making the marathon really more accessible. In the past, if you wanted to participate in the London Marathon, you had to have the means and funds to be able to travel to London, to be able to get an entry, which is also incredibly hard. And through this technology, we took the race to people while also giving them a taste of London where they were able to hear the sights and sounds of the city while they were running in their own neighborhoods. So what is TCS’ connect with sports? “Our chairman at the time was trying to improve his own health and he started his own walking and running routine. And when he saw how it really improved his quality of life, he said, ‘If this is so good for me, imagine how good it will be for all of our employees’. So TCS started Fit4Life, and our employees immediately jumped on that and started getting active themselves. Again TCS looked inside and said, ‘If this is doing such great things for our employees, what about our clients and the communities where we work and live?’ And that's where TCS started to pivot and look at sports sponsorships and look at how these sponsorships are giving communities an opportunity to get healthier and fit. Marathons are huge milestones for people but also, marathons give a huge platform to fundraising and charities across the board. On how these associations have transformed brand TCS into what it is today, Taylor said, “I always say that TCS really has a soul. As a company, we believe in community. Through all these sporting partnerships, we started out with a shared purpose around community and improving people's lives. A lot of our race partners are very focused on improving people's lives through running and TCS believes in that as well. Our expertise is around technology so we just tap into our knowledge of technology to see how we can give back to the community and improve people's lives.”

How sports marketing has helped fortify brand TCS

And the rally in domestic IT stocks is a reflection of that. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is among the top movers in the market today. Of the $14 billion worth of bookings that Accenture had on its books during the fourth quarter, more than half was from outsourcing. As of Q4, 70% of the company’s revenue was coming from businesses like digital, cloud and security — areas where Indian companies have also been doubling down. “The shift to cloud helps build a foundation for digital transformation and deflates costs which can be reinvested by enterprises to fund their digital transformation initiatives,” said Japanese brokerage Nomura. Healthcare — the diamond in the rough The biggest growth driver for Accenture is health and public services. However, that particular vertical is unlikely to benefit Indian IT service companies the same way. Doctors say obesity is potent factor for the development of major risks for chronic kidney disease, like diabetes and hypertension, and it has a direct impact on the development of even the end-stage renal disease. Being overweight can directly affect kidneys, and extra weight forces the kidneys to work harder and filter wastes above the normal levels. Obesity raises blood pressure by increasing renal tubular sodium reabsorption, impairing <keyword id="10902988" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pressure-natriuresis">pressure natriuresis</keyword>, and causing volume expansion because of activation of the sympathetic nervous system and renin-angiotensin system and by physical compression of the kidneys, especially when visceral obesity is present. Glomeruli are the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys where blood is cleaned, and over time, the increased pressure damages these vessels and kidney function begins to decline. Considering all these scenarios, it is best advised people lead a physically active life daily, to ensure their internal organs do not feel the pressure of excessive body weight or BP leading to problems like kidney failures, he added. Vijay Verma, Consultant Nephrologist, SLG Hospitals, fear of Covid-19 pandemic dissuaded many with early-stage as well as end-stage kidney ailments from seeking timely medical help at hospitals. "And this led to some devastating outcomes among the low immunity sections along with the aged population. People struggling with obesity fared poorly with their weight-control plans flying off the rails as they coped with the stress of the pandemic, and this did no good to those with kidney ailments," he said. Doctors say kidney problems generally do not cause symptoms until they enter a more advanced stage. However, a basic metabolic panel and complete urine examination are standard tests that can be done as part of a routine medical exam to check blood for creatinine or urea. These are chemicals that leak into the blood when the kidneys are not working properly, and tests can detect kidney problems early, when they are easier to treat. And one should be tested annually if they have diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Around 30% increase in weight-gain linked kidney ailments since lockdown

<keyword id="897477" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="India-Office-Market">India office market</keyword> remained strong in the second quarter of 2016, with 10.4 million sq ft of <keyword id="1632341" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Office-absorption">office absorption</keyword> adding to about 19.2 million sq ft Year-to-date (YTD). 
 
The percentage for this increase in office absorption was 18% increase QoQ, in which Bangalore turned out on the top place, contributing a 30% share. The start-up capital of the country was followed by NCR (21%), Hyderabad (20%), Chennai (15%), Mumbai (8%), Pune (5%) and Kolkata (1%) in the list. 
 Out of the leading transactions, a major one was <keyword id="3495922" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="TCS-expansion">TCS expansion</keyword>, because of which it leased over 4,00,000 sq ft in Noida and 3,75,000 sq ft in Bengaluru. Similarly, IBM and Value Labs expanded their footprint in Hyderabad, and took about 3,00,000 sq ft and 2,20,000 sq ft of space on lease, respectively, in the Western suburbs, thus contributing to the rise in office absorption. 
 
Talking of Noida, leading mobile manufacturers like Vivo Mobile and Oppo Mobile contributed in its newfound position as an Electronic manufacturing hub. While Vivo took up 2,50,000 sq ft of space there, Oppo took up 1,60,000 sq ft.

Edelweiss. This is further bolstered by the fact that the IT companies themselves are gaining on margins with employees working from home. Most companies will have a larger than usual budget for tech upgrades Companies don’t normally carry over their budget allocation for IT into the next year. But this time around, they’re making an exception. Majority of IT departments are likely to carry forward any of the unused technology budgets from 2020 into 2021, according to Edelweiss. The best phase of the ‘tech upcycle’ The surge in spending on technology upgrades has been dubbed the ‘tech upcycle’. It’s a result of the increase in online activity during the coronavirus pandemic. Back in June, the upcycle was just kicking off and the most expansive phase — when the money actually starts rolling — is yet to begin. But, some will gain more than others depending on where their focus lies within the digital space. For instance, spending on cloud technology is more important than investing in non-cloud digital services. “Cloud has clearly taken precedence in spends as clients now increasingly and strongly-than-ever believe that they need an agile IT infrastructure to manage variable data loads,” notes the report. With companies like HCL Tech, Infosys and TCS being the strongest contenders for cloud technology right now, they have the most to gain. A serious data breach — keeping in mind that the number of cyberattacks on companies during the last six months has been increasing — could have a serious impact on client trust and customer confidence. The depreciation of the dollar versus the rupee could also moderately affect growth and the resulting earnings estimates of IT companies, according to Edelweiss. And, while it is true that technology spends are stepping up, the North American market is an exception to that rule. Since most clients within the US are already digitally savvy, their budgets for IT may be slashed. <keyword id="6357549" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-IT-companies">Indian IT companies</keyword> may bear the brunt since, for most, the majority of their revenue comes from customers in the US. Lastly, while the BFSI sector is racing to catch up, it also means there’s a higher risk of companies within that vertical declaring bankruptcy.
