Boeing and <keyword id="2836827" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Advanced-Systems-Limited">Tata Advanced Systems Limited</keyword> (TASL) on Wednesday signed a framework agreement to take part in aerospace and defence manufacturing and potential integrated systems development opportunities, including unmanned aerial vehicles, taking <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>’s ‘<keyword id="6354869" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="make-in-India">Make in India</keyword>’ campaign one step ahead. 

	The agreement was signed by Shelley Lavender, president of Boeing Military Aircraft and Sukaran Singh, managing director and chief executive officer of TASL. TASL already has a contract to manufacture aerostructures for Boeing's CH-47 Chinook and AH-6i helicopters.
 

	"This agreement with TASL is significant because it demonstrates Boeing's commitment to expanding its aerospace manufacturing footprint in India," Lavender said.
 "As we step into our 100th year in business, a new aerospace partnership with India is the perfect milestone to accelerate the momentum we have generated for making in India," said Pratyush Kumar, president for <keyword id="189173" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Boeing-India">Boeing India</keyword>. "It is noteworthy that TASL will produce Chinook helicopter parts in India even before the procurement contract is signed with the Indian government." 

	The companies intend to access markets jointly for products and platforms developed together by Boeing and TASL, a company press release said.
 

	"This framework agreement is the result of the world-class competencies of TASL as well as the vendor eco-system it has helped establish in India. It gives us an opportunity to explore the massive potential in India for aerospace manufacturing and make the investments required to grow the industry," said S. Ramadorai, Chairman of TASL. "Boeing's platforms require complex manufacturing processes within a competitive cost structure and we are confident that the partnership will be able to deliver high quality aerostructures out of India."
 Other Tata group companies - <keyword id="2951672" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Advanced-Materials-Limited">Tata Advanced Materials Limited</keyword> (TAML) and TAL Manufacturing Solutions (TAL) - are also supplying important components to Boeing. TAML has delivered power and mission equipment cabinets and auxiliary power unit door fairings for the P-8I long range maritime surveillance and anti submarine warfare aircraft.

Boeing-TASL deal gives a huge boost to Modi’s Make in India

The <keyword id="6355725" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Group">Tata Group</keyword> today (June 23) said it aims to bring out a fully built aircraft for Ruag Aviation, an international group for aerospace and defence.
 <keyword id="1706423" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Advanced-Systems-Ltd">Tata Advanced Systems Ltd</keyword> (<keyword id="469678" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="TASL">TASL</keyword>) has tied up with Europe's <keyword id="2362617" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="RUAG-Aviation">RUAG Aviation</keyword> to manufacture crucial systems for the latter's <keyword id="1092069" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dornier-228">Dornier 228</keyword> new generation aircraft. 

	The Tata-Ruag partnership is a glowing example of cooperation between India and Europe, S Ramadorai, TASL chairman, said. 
 

	"It is our belief that this project is a significant step forward in India's growth as a high technology, precision, manufacturing destination. Ruag has entrusted the Tatas to deliver its showcase product, the Dornier 228, at world-class standards of precision and quality," he said. 
 

	"Our vision is to work with Ruag in having a full aircraft, equipped with systems flying out from a Tata final assembly. This will be of significant importance to the Indian Armed forces in their desire to produce products locally," he added
 TASL, in a span of five years, has become a significant player in the Global Aerospace market by delivering successfully over 70 Sikorsky S-92 cabins, and delivered Empennage and Center Wing Box for the C-130 J aircraft through its separate JV with <keyword id="112859" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lockheed-Martin">Lockheed Martin</keyword>, Ramadorai said. 

	It has also made Hyderabad a premier manufacturing destination for Global OEMs, he added.

Tata Group Keen To Work With Ruag Aviation To Build Aircraft

New Delhi, <keyword id="20643931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tvs-mobility" source="keywords">TVS Mobility</keyword> on Monday said it has formed a joint venture with the Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Corporation to establish a comprehensive vehicle mobility ecosystem in <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword>. As part of the collaboration, Mitsubishi Corporation will initially invest Rs 300 crore with both parties committed to support the growth of the joint venture. This investment is intended to propel both the parties' vision in relation to vehicle ownership in passenger cars, commercial vehicles and material handling equipment (MHE), <keyword id="20036540" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tvs" source="keywords">TVS</keyword> Mobility said in a statement. The business model will have the potential to achieve USD 2 billion revenue in the next 3-5 years' time, it added. With this, the dealership business of TVS Mobility will transform into TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution (TVS VMS) offering a complete portfolio of services to its customers. "TVS Mobility, had pioneered the sales, service and distribution of vehicles market through its dealership business in India. This collaboration with MC will enable TVS to provide a range of solutions to the entire vehicle mobility ecosystem," TVS Mobility Director R Dinesh said. After providing integrated and digital platforms for the independent aftermarket, the vehicle mobility business will provide digitally-enabled solutions to customers, be it enterprises, corporates or fleet owners, he added. The partners would also expand partnership with vehicle manufacturers to provide integrated solutions across vehicle sales, operating of vehicles and Vehicle-as-a-Service solutions, Dinesh said. TVS Mobility forms JV with Mitsubishi Corp for comprehensive vehicle mobility ecosystem in India

The Defence Ministry on Friday inked a nearly Rs 20,000 crore contract with <keyword id="6356166" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airbus" source="Orion">Airbus</keyword> Defence and Space of Spain to procure 56 C-295 medium transport aircraft which will replace Avro-748 planes of the <keyword id="15141" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Air-Force" source="Orion">Indian Air Force</keyword>. The long-pending procurement was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security two weeks back. "Contract signed between #MinistryOfDefence and @AirbusDefence &amp;Space, Spain for procurement of 56 C-295 transport aircraft for the #IAF," Defence Ministry Spokesperson A Bharat Bhushan Babu tweeted. Under the deal, 16 aircraft will be delivered in a flyaway condition by the Airbus Defence and Space within 48 months of signing the contract. The remaining 40 planes will be manufactured in India by a consortium of the Airbus Defence and Space and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) within 10 years of signing the contract, officials said. The C-295 MW aircraft is a transport plane of 5-10 tonne capacity. This is the first project of its kind in which a military aircraft will be manufactured in India by a private company. "All 56 aircraft will be installed with indigenous electronic warfare suite," the ministry had said on September 8 after the procurement was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security. The in-principle approval for the Avro replacement programme was accorded around nine years back. A large number of detail parts, sub-assemblies and major component assemblies of aerostructure are scheduled to be manufactured in India. The ministry had said that before completion of the deliveries, a servicing facility for C-295 MW aircraft is scheduled to be set up in India. The contract for 100 utility helicopters will be awarded under 'Make in India'. 
 
The Indian companies will take it from the front to procure the helicopters with a foreign company as a partner. 
 
TASL will be the lead company in partnership with Bell Helicopter, based in Fort Worth, Texas. 
 "The TASL tie-up with Bell Helicopter is likely to be announced formally soon. It will make the competition more or less a direct fight between <keyword id="45224" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra">Mahindra</keyword> and Tata," people involved in the developments told ET.

Tata just partnered with Bell Helicopter in a bid to bag $2 bn chopper deal

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Boeing">Boeing</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Advanced+Systems">Tata Advanced Systems</a> on Monday announced a joint venture that will manufacture aerostructures for aircraft and collaborate on integrated systems development opportunities in India. 
 
According to the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Boeing">Boeing</a> press release, "The JV will initially create a manufacturing center of excellence to produce aerostructures for the AH-64 Apache helicopter and to compete for additional manufacturing work packages across Boeing platforms, both commercial and defense." 
Boeing and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Advanced+Systems">Tata Advanced Systems</a> want to grow this partnership in the future. They want to collaborate, develop and sell integrated systems. 
 
"This partnership will capitalize on India's industrial capability, innovation and talent to contribute to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Boeing">Boeing</a>'s long-term competitiveness and position us for future growth in the global marketplace," said Chris Chadwick, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space &amp; Security. "It is a demonstration of our commitment to further accelerate our partnership with one of the world's fastest growing economies." 
 
"This agreement to establish a JV will propel the growth of the Indian aerospace sector by leveraging the world-class competencies of TASL and its supplier eco-system, as well as provide access to India's world-class manufacturing capability, skilled talent and competitive cost structures," said S.
