The BCCI has banned the display of <keyword id="54214" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="fireworks" source="Orion">fireworks</keyword> during the remaining World Cup games in Delhi and Mumbai due to worsening air quality in the two mega cities. Delhi has only one match left to host, the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka game on November 6, while Mumbai are scheduled to host two more league games, on November 2 and November 7, and the semifinal on November 15. "BCCI is sensitive to environmental concerns. I took up the matter formally with the ICC and there won't be any fireworks display in Mumbai, which can add to the pollution level," said BCCI secretary Jay Shah in a statement on Wednesday. "The Board is committed to combating environmental issues and will always place the interest of our fans and stakeholders at the forefront. The BCCI acknowledges the urgent concern surrounding air quality in both Mumbai and New Delhi. "While we strive to host the <keyword id="6362155" type="General" weightage="70" keywordseo="icc-world-cup" source="Orion">ICC World Cup</keyword> in a manner befitting the celebration of cricket, we remain steadfast in our commitment to prioritising the health and safety of all our stakeholders." Delhi's air quality remained in the "very poor" category for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday with an air quality index (AQI) of 372. The pollution situation has been alarming in Mumbai also. The Bombay High Court on Tuesday expressed concern over the "deteriorating" air quality index in Mumbai while taking suo motu (on its own) cognisance of the issue.

Coldplay announces new show in Mumbai on January 21: How to book tickets, timings, and all you need to know

Soman started his run from July 26 onwards and managed to complete a massive distance of 67 kms on the first day to reach Anand. 
 
On the second day he completed another 62 kms. In a video posted on his Facebook page, Soman is seen running as if he’s on his daily morning jog- the fact that he’s barefoot doesn’t seem to bother him at all. 
 
 
 
He also points out how the weather is humid- all while <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=barefoot+running&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">running between two cities BAREFOOT</a>. Soman is expected to reach Mumbai by August 7.

These two Swedes came to Mumbai to make careers in Bollywood and Johan (26) and Hamous (25) have managed to make an impression. 
 
In their posts, Johan and Hampus have a humorous side of the difficulties of living in Mumbai. 
 
Johan told one of the news portals that Hampus and he were overwhelmed with the response to their videos. "It's been amazing, there are so many people writing to us, emailing us, you feel that people have really appreciated your work," he had said. 
 
They have acted in a string of projects such as Rustom, Banjo and will be seen in an upcoming Bollywood movie Rangoon.

Mumbai, Apr 25 () AAI-GVK group-run Mumbai airport on Saturday announced a slew of safety measures for resumption of commercial air passenger services in the post-lockdown period.The airport has formulated SOPs for post-lockdown safety of the passengers like social distancing, stringent thermal screening, positioning temporary quarantine centres, sanitising and disinfecting the airport to ensure safety and well-being of the passengers, once operations resume, Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said in a release.MIAL is the joint venture company, managing and operating the city airport.To enable safety precautions at the airport, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) plans to maintain social distancing through distinctive markings at both the terminals -- T1 and T2, maintaining 1.5 meters distance between each passenger as per the social distancing norms issued by the aviation regulator DGCA, MIAL said.The special markings will be spread across the entry gate, check-in counters, self-check-in kiosks, security checkpoints, food courts, lounge area and the boarding area amongst others. Furthermore, the seating arrangements at the food court as well as in the terminal building are reshuffled in a manner that promotes social distancing, it said.Additionally, the airport authorities have also created quarantine centres at both T1 and T2 in case of any passenger showing symptoms of the coronavirus during the screening, which will be conducted before entering the terminal building.The airport will be assigning their personnel to assist travellers at the self check-in kiosks to help with the boarding copy and other details along with stationing hand sanitisers at all the touchpoints, it added.In a bid to enhance passenger safety and lower the chances of spread of the virus, MIAL puts special emphasis on the need for passengers to wear masks and gloves during the entire course of their travel, the airport operator said, adding that it also encourages passengers to check-in online from their home or office, the use of card payment transaction and contactless payment at the airport restaurants and retail stores.The operator also said that in the initial phase of resuming operations, the airport will be functioning with 50 per cent staff strength as per the government directives.The airport maintenance staff have been provided with renewed and effective cleaning procedures to efficiently sanitise and disinfect the terminal building, including the vital areas where human hands come to play such as elevator buttons, escalators, immigration counters, to name a few.Regular stakeholder meetings are being held to ensure compliance across the board, and specialized training sessions are conducted for all airport personnel, it said. The sector, which was one of the worst hit sectors during the pandemic, witnessed a de-growth in the number of jobs, the report said. Jobs in the retail sector saw a decline by 5.5% in the past three years from August 2019 - August 2022. “Although jobs in retail saw an uptick of 27.7% in 2020-21 it again de-grew last year,” the report said. According to the report, this was largely due to the Covid lockdown last year and work from home culture also led people to choose offline shopping instead of physical shopping during festive seasons. “The festive months in India are usually a time where we see an increase in seasonal jobs to meet the increasing demand.  The crisis-ridden bank's annual report for 2018-19 nowhere mentions exposure to any real estate firm and it only talks of MSME lending and NPAs at 3.76%. Two directors — Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan — of HDIL that set off the massive crisis at the PMC Bank by defaulting on loans worth nearly ₹6,500 crore have been arrested. They were arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police. According to the complaint, HDIL and its group companies were the beneficiaries of 44 loans or 73% of PMC's total loan book size of ₹8,880 crore - a mammoth violation of regulations which forbid banks from handing out such a large proportion of cash to one sector, let alone a single firm. "Kapil Wadhawan, being chairman and managing director of Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL), had visited London along with a city-based real estate broker to meet Iqbal Mirchi in 2010. The world’s cheapest city to live and work in is in India and it’s our very own financial capital of the country, <keyword id="6358070" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mumbai">Mumbai</keyword>. London, Hong Kong and New York are the world's most expensive cities for companies to accommodate employees, with costs in London going through the roof, says <keyword id="674707" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Savills">Savills</keyword> World Research. 

	The cheapest city in the index among 12 top metropolitan cities of the world is Mumbai, where it costs just $29,088 to accommodate an employee, up only 2.4% since 2008, while Shanghai comes in at $38,089, up 15.6%. 
 

	On comparison, the index which measures the combined cost of residential and office rental per person per year found that London's costs averaged $118,425 in the first half of 2015, an increase of 20.7% since the index was launched in 2008. This is marginally more expensive than Hong Kong where costs have risen just 0.4 per cent since 2008, and New York which has seen 28.4% growth. 
 

	San Francisco has been the biggest riser, with growth of 59.8% since 2008. 
 Yolande Barnes, director of Savills World Research told TNN "Our Live/Work report says that while London, Hong Kong and New York are the world's most expensive cities for accommodating employees, relatively speaking Mumbai's <keyword id="6354553" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="real-estate">real estate</keyword> costs are more expensive as they are five times the average <keyword id="35050" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="gdp">GDP</keyword>, compared to London and New York where real estate is only twice and 1.5 times the GDP respectively." 

	"Mumbai is the only city we looked at as it is the only 'world city' in India which shares in the same fame, prominence, international reach and 'investability' as other global cities such as New York, Hong Kong and Sydney. The average cost of living and working in the city has risen over the past seven years, from US$ 28,394 per year in December 2008 to U$29,088 per year by June 2015, but in comparison to other global cities it has seen the smallest increase - only 2.4%". 
 

	"With India now likely to outperform China economically in the near future, we anticipate that there will be even more interest in Mumbai's real estate, leading to the average live/work cost continuing to increase and making Mumbai even less affordable if the GDP doesn't also increase at a rate that exceeds accommodation costs." 
 

	So what makes London so expensive and Mumbai so cheap? 
 

	Barnes said "Mumbai's live/work costs are low but it is actually the most expensive city to live and work in relative to productivity, with live/works costs a very high - five times per head GDP. This reflects the fact that most workers in the city do not live and work in the international-standard accommodation that Savills measures. London, meanwhile, has the highest live/work costs, but when this is compared to its GDP they are only twice the GDP, meaning that it is relatively cheaper to live and work in than Mumbai." 
 

	Sydney and Los Angeles offer the best value live/work rent combination at 70% and 80% of per head GDP respectively, followed by San Francisco. 
 

	The average cost per head across the 12 leading world cities in the Savills study is $74,945 per year, which is 1.4 times the average city GDP per head of population. 
 

	Three cities - Tokyo, Dubai and Singapore have all seen live/work costs fall between minus 8% and minus 16.6% over the period since 2008.

World's cheapest city is Mumbai: Report
