<br /> The movie is set in two time periods, and features the actress as a friendly ghost Shashi, who resides in a tree, As luck would have it, <keyword id="293492" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Suraj-Sharma">Suraj Sharma</keyword> (of Life of Pi fame) mistakenly marries her when his family forces him to marry a tree because he's manglik.<br />

From then onwards, Shashi continues to haunt him as she didn't ask for this marriage. But, turns out, it's also because she has some unfinished business left in her love life.<br />

When she first got the sides for the character, the part instantly clicked with her. </p><p>"I read it and I went, 'Oh my gosh, I have to play her. I'm very, very fortunate to be in the position that I'm in."</p><p>Showrunners, writers, and executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger told Insider that they wrote the script for "HIMYF" a couple of years ago but put it on the backburner when they joined NBC's "This Is Us" as executive producers. </p><p>Upon the announcement that "This Is Us" would return for a sixth and final season in 2022, Aptaker and Berger revisited "HIMYF."
