At the price of Rs 1,620 per share on Monday, Ekagrah Murty received a whopping Rs 243 crore. Sudha Murty's gift to kids during lockdown: New book in digital, audio format

In our daily life we can see how computer technology is reshaping the world. And with an aim to make quality computer science education widely available, India’s second largest IT consulting company <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> will expand its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in the US. These activities will be carried out by <keyword id="86463" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="INfosys-Foundation">Infosys Foundation</keyword> located in the US, which is the philanthropic arm of Infosys. As per a statement issued by the company, the initial outlay for Infosys Foundation would be $5 million (over Rs 31.6 crore) per annum. The Bengaluru-headquartered company has appointed <keyword id="6355854" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sudha-Murty">Sudha Murty</keyword>, <keyword id="2664286" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Vandana-Sikka">Vandana Sikka</keyword> and Sandeep Dadlani as the trustees of this arm. 

	Talking about the CSR activities, Murty, who is also the chairperson of Infosys Foundation, said, "Infosys Foundation has always supported the cause of promoting quality education and empowering individuals. I am confident that we will leverage Infosys Foundation's experience in India of imparting technical education to enhance employability." 
 

	In India, Infosys Foundation supports several programmes aimed at alleviating hunger, promoting education, improving health, assisting rural development, supporting arts and helping the destitute. For the fiscal year 2015, Infosys Foundation plans to deploy about $40 million towards these initiatives in the country, the company said in a press release.
 

	Vandana Sikka, who is the chairperson of Infosys Foundation, the USA, said, "We want to ensure that lack of resources, prior skills and STEM proficiency are no longer barriers for individuals, in the Americas, seeking to advance their computing skills."

Infosys Expands Its CSR Activities In The US

New Delhi, Apr 1 () Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, on Wednesday said it has partnered Narayana Health to open a 100-room quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients in the vicinity of Narayana Health City in Bengaluru. The facility, aimed at serving patients belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society, will accommodate patients, offer regular monitoring by doctors, nurses, and provide essential medication, free of cost, a statement said. The patients in the isolation facility will be treated and monitored by the doctors and nurses of Narayana Health City, it added. Earlier this week, Infosys Foundation had announced its commitment of Rs 100 crore to help the government with COVID-19 relief efforts. "Diseases often hit the underprivileged the hardest, because they cannot afford proper treatment, and at the same time, they lose their livelihood while dealing with the illness. "This is a small effort by the Foundation to ensure that the underserved people of our society get access to clean, hygienic accommodation as well as appropriate medical treatment," Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty said. Devi Shetty, chairman and executive director of Narayana Health, said providing safe-spaces, with proper medical care to enable patients to isolate themselves, will play a big role in India's fight against COVID-19. Infosys Foundation partners Narayana Health City to open quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients

New Delhi, Mar 30 () Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, on Monday committed Rs 100 crore to support efforts towards fighting COVID-19 in India. The Foundation has contributed half of this commitment (Rs 50 crore) to the PM CARES Fund, a statement said. This sum will primarily be utilised across three broad areas of support that the Foundation has prioritised, including expansion of hospital capacity for treatment and enable hospital stays for COVID-19 patients across India, especially ones belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society, it added. The funds will also be utilised to provide ventilators, testing kits, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks, and other protective gear for frontline healthcare workers, and towards ensuring better access to food and nutrition for the underprivileged section of the society that is bearing the adverse economic impact of the current situation, the statement noted. Infosys Foundation, over the last two weeks, has announced support for creation of an exclusive hospital in Bengaluru for COVID-19 patients. It has also enabled the acquisition of medical and PPE equipment for multiple military and government hospitals across the country. The Foundation is also supporting various NGOs that provide food and hygiene kits to thousands of people in need. Corporate India has been rushing in to help the government and citizens fight the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Tata Trusts &amp; Tata Group together have pledged Rs 1,500 crore, by far the highest by any corporate. Reliance Industries' chief Mukesh Ambani has also committed a further Rs 500 crore to the Prime Minister's COVID-19 fund, topping up over the multi-crore initiative of India's first coronavirus hospital, meals to the needy, and fuel to emergency vehicles. "These are unprecedented times that require every section of the society to rise up to the challenge. Infosys Foundation has always supported the needs of the country in difficult situations and we will continue to work with governments, non-profits, and healthcare institutions in their fight against this global pandemic," Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty said. She added that all efforts will be targeted towards ensuring that the relief material reaches the people who need it the most, whether it is a patient who cannot afford treatment, healthcare personnel, or daily-wage workers whose livelihood has been severely impacted. "The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the toughest challenges that the world has been faced with. At such a time, it is imperative for businesses to join hands with the governments, civil society, as well as healthcare institutions to support the communities we live and serve in," Infosys CEO and MD Salil Parekh said. The final match between PV Sindhu and Carolina Marin was watched by 42 million viewers across the country.
