A month back, <keyword id="3010687" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sudarshan-Gangrade">Sudarshan Gangrade</keyword> was heading marketing operations at Ola as Vice President. Gangrade wanted to take a break and quit his job. 
 
One month after, Gangrade and his team built an app-Road MApp- for the betterment of the society, and their mission is to bring about a positive impact and affect lives of people. 
 
“I was on a break and one day I was talking to my friends and then it struck me if could have an app that assess the quality of the roads,” said Gangrade. 
 
What is the app, how does it work? 
 
Road MApp assesses the quality of roads using the sensors in your smartphones. The app is developed by Ph.D holders and uses sophisticated algorithms and accelerometers to measure the quality of roads. A team at Bengaluru-based startup- Lightmetrics, which is into imaging technology- helped Gangrade in developing this app. 
 
“You can download app on Android smartphones and once launched, it automatically knows you are on the road. The sensors assess the vibrations as you drive on good or bad stretches, records the location and a Google Maps-type image is generated that shows the quality of the road,” said Gangrade. 
 
Road MApp grades at 7 levels how good or bad are the roads -Green means the roads are better and red means you have landed in a pothole. 
 
How accurate is the app? 
 
The beta testing of this Bengaluru-based Road MApp is over and the app has been tested on Bengaluru roads. 
 
“It may not be 100 per cent accurate and we will fine tune it over a period of time but after field testing, we can say that the app is fairly accurate and is reliable,” said Gangrade. 
 
For the government 
 
The main aim of Road MApp is to collect data and hand it over to the government so that they have the real time data of roads to repair it. 
 
“Road MApp is not for academic purposes. There have been lot of consumer campaigns about bad roads and I wanted to help the society at large. We are yet to speak with the government but once we have huge data, we will share it with them and we are confident, they will look at it in an electronic way and use it for repairs,” said Gangrade. 
 
Future plans 
 
Gangrade said the app was developed purely for social cause. In future, Gangrade plans to improve public delivery of services. 
 
“The smartphone is a powerful tool and in future the app can be future developed and used in identifying accident-prone areas, blind spots in real time,” said Gangrade. 
 
Saddest roads in Bengaluru 
 
Since this app has been tested only in Bengaluru, Gangrade said Sarjapura and Bellandur really have bad roads. 
 
His association with <keyword id="44604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nandan-Nilekani">Nandan Nilekani</keyword> 
 
Gangrade has worked on the Aadhar project with Nilekani, who is also an inspiration to him. 
 
“I am inspired by Nilekani’s idea of using technology to improve public delivery of services. My belief is that the government is open to using tools to help improve its efficiency,” said Gangrade. 
 
“Technology will create an impact on the society,” Nilekani told Gangrade, who took his words seriously.

Bajo Foods, which began with selling Keto products, claims to provide low-carb food products in the form of packaged and fresh foods. A keto diet is known to be high in fat and low in <a href="https://www.cancer.gov/publications/dictionaries/cancer-terms/def/ketogenic-diet">carbohydrates</a>. Founded in 2019, the company also has cloud kitchens supplying fresh foods in four cities- Gurugram, Delhi, Bangalore, and <keyword id="6354552" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="Orion">Hyderabad</keyword>. The FMCG brand plans to use the funds for brand building of its new product ranges and expanding their channels to offline retail, B2B and hospitals. Bajo Foods says it aims to reduce the incidence of obesity, cardiac, and diabetes-related diseases by 5 million by 2023. Bajo Foods’ mission is to reduce the amount of carbohydrates that India consumes to 50% (from 75-85%). Indian FMCG firm Bajo Foods raises $2 million to build its diabetes and protein-based brands

It is not just fitness lovers who are gaining from this diet, but startups too are keen on providing keto-friendly snacks to the increasing number of health-conscious Indians. “People can’t replace keto friendly food with their everyday meal so we brought modified version of Indian snacks to the market,” Sudarshan Gangrade, the founder of Lo! Foods told Business Insider India. This Bengaluru-based startup believes that even those who diet continue to snack and hence healthy snacks replacements will find takers. Lo! Foods has a low-carb and keto-friendly range of packaged foods. It uses atta which is whole wheat flour to make healthy snacks like South Indian mixture, low-carb namakpare, coated peanuts and desserts including coconut ladoo. It recently introduced keto-friendly chocolates as well. The low-carb and high-fat diet has gained traction in the last 3-4 years.Yet, love for snacks is what makes people binge on unhealthy foods, and Lo! believes that its a sweet spot for them. While the health food market in itself is at ₹2,000 crore per annum, the keto market size is around ₹25-₹30 crore. Health snacks market is also growing fast at rate of 50%. Moreover, there are very few competitors in the market. Lo! Foods, which is a low carb and keto friendly range of packaged foods brand, is bringing healthy snacking for people. </li><li>These include atta, biscuits, snacks, namkeens and chocolates. </li><li>The startup, which started in 2019 has received $5 lakh funding from top founders and executives of the FMCG and financial investment community. </li><li>The company also announced its partnership with Hyatt Place, Hyderabad.</li></ul>Indian startup Lo! Foods which brings in keto-friendly packed snacks raised $5 lakhs as seed fund. Apart from financers, the startup also attracted top executives of FMCG companies as well as it bets on Indians to buy low-carb snacks. Its angel investors include Anuj Golecha, the co-founder - Venture Catalyst; Raveen Sastry, the co-founder of Myntra, Rashmi Daga, Founder of Freshmenu, Sunil Chhabra, Advisor &amp; Founding Team member, Jumbotail; and Mitesh Shah, the CFO of BookMyShow among others. “Top FMCG and Financial executives coming on board to invest and mentor the company is another strong validation of the prospects we have as an organization. The startup producers a range of products includes atta or flour, biscuits, snacks or namkeens and even chocolates which can be eaten by those on a keto diet. Desi taste buds The brand created a wide online market on platforms like Freshmenu, Eat Fit along with Amazon, Flipkart and Big Basket. “The Indian taste buds want something desi to munch on, but finding a healthy option is difficult. People do not like to have a granola bar or ragi biscuits with their tea. A startup that bets on packaged keto snacks and chocolates raises seed funding

Mobile handset maker <keyword id="2210217" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="oneplus">OnePlus</keyword> has partnered with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Infosys-Rajiv-Bansal-is-Olas-new-Chief-Financial-Officer/articleshow/49932634.cms">Ola</a> to allow users to purchase its <keyword id="3081927" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="OnePlus-X">OnePlus X</keyword> handset via taxi aggregator's platform. 
 This is the first ever instance in India where consumers can purchase a <keyword id="28168" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Smartphone">smartphone</keyword> without an invite for a day and have it delivered at their doorsteps within 15 minutes of placing the order, <keyword id="6354720" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ola">Ola</keyword> said in a statement. 
 
The offer will go live on the Ola mobile app only on December 8, 2015, across seven cities - Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, between 1000 hours and 1900 hours. 
 
By clicking on the 'ONEPLUSX' category icon, an Ola cab will arrive at the customer's location along with a representative from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=OnePlus+">OnePlus</a> with the smartphone. 
 
Customers will get a choice of paying for their OnePlus X handsets through cash (Cash On Delivery) or credit/debit cards.
