New Delhi, May 31 (IANSlife) Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai feels that the nationwide lockdown in the country was a "major setback" for the Indian film industry. "Like any other industry, Bollywood will also have to face challenges as far as producing films is concerned," he tells IANSlife. Adding, "Like other industries, the film industry will also face challenges with new changes in producing films for big and small screen. The situation is still wait n watch post the lockdown. It was a major setback for us, but we will fight this out together. We are waiting for the cinemas to re-open; we will release the films again." However, the 'Karz' director believes that post this phase of fighting the global pandemic, the world will emerge to be a better version of what was before. "Trust me, it will be a better world with better wisdom, discipline, creative, innovative in socio political and economic platforms latest by post 2024. Changes in between may create chaos conflict and confusions in the world with new debatable decisions. But finally it will settle for better world. It will be 'yuga parivartan' period," says the 'showman of India'. Ghai, who is the Chairman of Media &amp; Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), is hosting a webinar on Vidyavaan, an initiative by MESC, which aims to provide informal vocational education and skill development. "It's all for people and students who are eager to know about our first time initiative of Vidyavaan -- a unique platform for informal education online and physical by connecting masters gurus and experts from various arts and crafts and professionals," he says. During the webinar to be held in the coming week, Ghai will answer students' queries as a Chairman of MESC. Lockdown a major setback for us: Subhash Ghai

Female protagonists are ruling <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> nowadays and we were definitely looking forward to some spectacular showing when Kangana Ranaut-Vir Das-starrer comedy-drama <keyword id="1132893" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Revolver-Rani">Revolver Rani</keyword> and Subhash Ghai-directed <keyword id="2214753" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kaanchi-The-Unbreakable">Kaanchi: The Unbreakable</keyword>, yet another <keyword id="2097207" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Woman-centric-movie">woman-centric movie</keyword>, were released on April 25. <keyword id="1718118" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Samrat-Co-">Samrat &amp; Co.</keyword>, a whodunit movie directed and co-written by <keyword id="1097593" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kaushik-Ghatak">Kaushik Ghatak</keyword>, was the third release of the week. 
 Going by the numbers, it was an extremely poor weekend at the <keyword id="827271" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Domestic-Box-Office">domestic box office</keyword> and the Monday business did not look up either, predicting more gloom and doom. After her stellar performance in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Box-Office-Queen-OutshinesGulaab-Gang-Total-Siyapaa-Tanks/articleshow/31848837.cms">Queen</a> (it has netted around Rs 60 crore at home and grossed nearly Rs 93 crore worldwide), Kangana-led Revolver Rani has turned out to be a surprise slow-starter at the <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword> in spite of an intriguing storyline. Sure, it had the best start among the three but netted around Rs 6 crore at home after the first three days in spite of hype and the positive word of mouth. Debut day occupancy was as low as 15% although the movie has hit around 1,500 screens, nearly double the number of <keyword id="6377522" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="queen">Queen</keyword>. 
 
Interestingly, Queen, too, picked up pace pretty late, but managed to nett around Rs 9 crore after the first three days. For Revolver Rani, the crucial Day 4 (Monday, April 28) business was equally dismal and the movie collected around Rs 1.4 crore at home. It has an estimated budget of Rs 24 crore. 
 
However, <keyword id="1417195" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kaanchi">Kaanchi</keyword>, directed by <keyword id="6354581" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Subhash-Ghai">Subhash Ghai</keyword>, suffered a worse fate. This one looks like a clear <keyword id="2076872" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Box-office-bomb">box office bomb</keyword> and collected a paltry Rs 75 lakh on the opening Friday. Weekend earnings remained extremely disappointing and the romance-cum-revenge drama could only manage Rs 3 crore in the first three days. Monday collections stood at an estimated Rs 1.1 crore. With the budget of the movie projected to be Rs 30 crore-plus, industry experts are already calling it another disastrous outing by Ghai. Kaanchi has opened in 1,150-1,200 theatres at home, but the occupancy was less than 15%, especially at single screens. In fact, Kaanchi is the lowest debut-day grosser among Ghai’s recent flops including Yaadein (Rs 1.6 crore on opening Friday), Kisna (Rs 1.5 crore) and Yuvraaj (Rs 2.9 crore). 
 <keyword id="2218677" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Samrat-and-Co-">Samrat and Co.</keyword>, a <keyword id="25276" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="detective">detective</keyword> thriller starring <keyword id="15130" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajeev-Khandelwal">Rajeev Khandelwal</keyword>, <keyword id="110704" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Madalasa-Sharma">Madalasa Sharma</keyword> and <keyword id="1600791" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gopal-Datt">Gopal Datt</keyword>, hit around 500 screens at home and was immediately declared a flop. First day collections at the domestic box office were an appalling Rs 25 lakh and total earnings in the first three days stood at Rs 1.45 crore, as per trade figures. Interestingly, first Monday (Day 4) collections were better than the opening day, amounting to Rs 60 lakh. But keeping the film’s budget in mind – in the zone of Rs 18 crore or so – this rahasya (mystery) ride won’t be going anywhere in terms of <keyword id="1996031" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Box-office-performance">box office performance</keyword>. 
 
 
 If you are still wondering what has led to the wholesale box office debacle, a close look at all the three flicks may help decode the failures. Directed by <keyword id="2218682" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sai-Kabir-Shrivastav">Sai Kabir Shrivastav</keyword> (he also did the story and the screenplay) Revolver Rani narrates the story of <keyword id="315181" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Alka-Singh">Alka Singh</keyword> (<keyword id="2201" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kangana-Ranaut">Kangana Ranaut</keyword>), a dacoit-turned-politician in the thick of power game and in love with Bollywood aspirant <keyword id="1555785" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rohan-Mehra">Rohan Mehra</keyword> (<keyword id="671" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vir-das">Vir Das</keyword>). Kangana plays the <keyword id="2218683" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chambal-girl">Chambal girl</keyword> to perfection – raw, raunchy, power-loving and trigger-happy. But one must not write it off as another one of the Bandit Queen saga. The ground realities, the ingrained satire and the layers of turbulence unfold well in the movie, but the story fails at times – losing the smooth flow and meandering during the second half. Overall, it has loads of merit, but it’s hardly a feel-good movie and that could be one of the key reasons behind the slow business pick-up. As <keyword id="122490" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="film-critic">film critic</keyword> Anupama Chopra so rightly said, “If you can enjoy bad people doing bad things, then Revolver Rani will be fun.” 
 
Kaanchi, on the other hand, simply drags on and loses all the suspense of a revenge drama that it later turns out to be. The movie features two newcomers in lead roles, <keyword id="562167" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kartik-Tiwari">Kartik Tiwari</keyword> (aka <keyword id="2104801" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kartik-Aaryan">Kartik Aaryan</keyword>) and Hindi movie debutante Indrani Chakraborty (aka Mishti), while the ‘big baddies’ are played by <keyword id="6357910" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rishi-Kapoor">Rishi Kapoor</keyword> and <keyword id="14672" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mithun-Chakraborty">Mithun Chakraborty</keyword>. The naïve rural beauty Kaanchi fights against power and corruption as her love Binda, her land and her life are at stake. But as is the Bollywood norm, the twists and turns get too filmy to be convincing, the characters become stereotypes and the dialogues are mere lip service. At the end, we are looking at a mere shell instead of a strong script, powerful performances and the ‘gale’ of change. 
 Samrat and Co. does no better in terms of cinematic art. Rajeev Khandelwal (<keyword id="239627" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="private-investigator">private investigator</keyword> Samrat Tilakdhari) lacks the earlier sparkle of Table No. 21. And if you are expecting Rajeev and Gopal (Samrat’s <keyword id="6419345" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="assistant">assistant</keyword> and friend, <keyword id="2218675" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chakradhar-Pandey">Chakradhar Pandey</keyword>) do a Holmes-Watson act, you could be mightily disappointed. But currently you have a mystery to solve. Try and predict if these three would do well at the domestic box office over the first week. Your guess is as good as ours.

Box Office: Kangana Fails To Lift Revolver Rani; Kaanchi Lacks Ghai’s Golden Touch

Actor <keyword id="1623055" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sooraj-pancholi" source="Orion">Sooraj Pancholi</keyword> shook off the controversy clouding his life and career on Friday with a special <keyword id="6354572" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbi" source="Orion">CBI</keyword> court acquitting him in the 2013 <keyword id="6356238" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="suicide" source="Orion">suicide</keyword> case of his girlfriend <keyword id="19566" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jiah-khan" source="Orion">Jiah Khan</keyword>. Pancholi, 32, the son of actors <keyword id="966" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aditya-pancholi" source="Orion">Aditya Pancholi</keyword> and Zarina Wahab, hasn't really been able to make a dent after his promising debut as the lead in the remake of "Hero" opposite Athiya Shetty in 2015. The film, which won him a Filmfare Award for best debut, was backed by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai. It didn't do well and Pancholi's career has been moving in fits and starts since then. He has since worked in the little-known "Satellite Shankar" and "Time to Dance". Pancholi, who has also worked as assistant director on films such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Guzaarish" and Salman Khan-starrer "Ek Tha Tiger", hit the headlines when he was accused of abetting Jiah Khan's suicide. He was charged on the basis of a six-page letter purportedly written by Khan, who was found hanging in her Juhu home on June 3, 2013. In an interview to PTI in 2015, Pancholi had said, "My name will always be associated with her and I have no guilt for that. I am happy that something at least stays with me. I am sad that she ended her life. But at least her name is with me and I have no problems with it." On Friday, Pancholi was there with his mother when the judge read out the verdict. Special CBI judge A S Sayyad called him to the witness box and asked his name. When the actor said Sooraj, the judge asked him to state his full name. The actor then replied, "Sooraj Aditya Pancholi." The judge then said, "Due to paucity of evidence, this court holds you (Sooraj) not guilty... acquitted." Sooraj nodded with his head down and stepped out of the witness box. He didn't speak to reporters. Sooraj Pancholi, star son and actor gets an acquittal in Jiah Khan suicide case

"I have just started learning." That's Hariprasad <keyword id="1637534" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="chaurasia" source="Orion">Chaurasia</keyword>, flute maestro, one of India's most well-known classical musicians and the man who could well have been a wrestler instead. With a humble shake of his head as if trying to get rid of the idea of success, the 84-year-old rushes in with words when asked about seven decades of playing the flute. His journey, he says, has just started and all hopes of perfecting the craft can only be fulfilled in the next birth. "Now I can only hope that something happens in the next birth. But I am happy so many people across the world give me so much love," Chaurasia told PTI in an interview. Chaurasia, who has comfortably straddled the twin worlds of classical and popular music and has composed melodies for films such as "<keyword id="310845" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="silsila" source="Orion">Silsila</keyword>" with santoor maestro <keyword id="6432164" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shivkumar-sharma" source="Orion">Shivkumar Sharma</keyword>, is grateful for the adulation he receives from the audience. "Today they come to see me, no matter how well or how badly I play the flute. It is their love for me that brings them here," he said, referring to his advanced age and his battle with Parkinson's disease. "I am very fortunate that I receive so much love, I don't know if anyone else has been loved so much or not. I know of Krishna, but he was only loved by the girls," the Mumbai-based artiste said playfully. Had he continued on the path set by his wrestler father, it wouldn't have been possible to reach where he is today, Chaurasia said. "My father used to tell me that I would beg for food if I continue on this line. But look where I am today and how much love I receive from people. Could this have been possible if I had continued in the field of wrestling?" he asked. Chaurasia was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, in 1938. His father had decided his son would follow his footsteps into the wrestling mat. However, Chaurasia, uninterested and perennially tired after the training his father was putting him through, had other things on his mind. According to the veteran musician's biography, "Breath of Gold", by journalist Sathya Saran, he secretly started learning at the age of 15 from a classical vocalist called Raja Ram in the neighbourhood. He soon drifted towards the more instrumental dimension of it through the bamboo flute that has become synonymous with the maestro. It was only when he was to leave for a job with the All India Radio as a performer in Cuttack, Odisha, in 1957 that his father came to know about his son's passion for the flute. "Wrestlers tend to fight every day, whether it is with other wrestlers or with vegetable vendors in a market. But flute requires devotion, service of people, service of the guru, you need to keep the master happy because he is akin to god, it is a line that only very fortunate ones get to carry forward," Chaurasia said. The music composer and director received national and international recognition through several awards and accolades such as the Sangeet Natak Akademi award, the Padma Vibhushan, the Padma Bhushan and the title of 'Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau' from the Government of the Netherlands. Chaurasia was also appointed Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters by France. In his long years associated with the flute, Chaurasia has worked with leading names in the world of music, including singer-songwriter George Harrison of The Beatles, English guitarist John McLaughlin, legendary sitarist Ravi Shankar and tabla player <keyword id="8925" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="zakir-hussain" source="Orion">Zakir Hussain</keyword>. After moving to Mumbai, then Bombay, in 1962, Chaurasia gradually went up the popularity ladder by working in films, including "Jahan Ara" (1964), "<keyword id="30732" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="umrao-jaan" source="Orion">Umrao Jaan</keyword>" (1981), and "Hero" (1983), playing an interlude here and there. The iconic tune played by actor Bharat Bhushan and then Jackie Shroff playing his son in Subhash Ghai's "Hero" overnight became Chaurasia's calling card and is still remembered. Even though Chaurasia and Sharma worked in several films together, it was only with Yash Chopra's romance drama "Silsila" (1981) that both artistes came to be known as Shiv-Hari, a music director duo that delivered blockbuster music film after film. Talking about the films of the era, Chaurasia said after reaching Bombay, he saw many talented people and thought of trying his luck in the film industry. "We worked a lot in films and the driving force was always this that if these talented people can make music, then why not us. And by god's grace, it all went well." The Shiv-Hari duo was behind the still remembered music of "Chandni" (1989), "Lamhe" (1991), and "Darr" (1993) among several other films. "Forgive me for saying this but today's films and music do not touch people. Can they make 'Mughal-e-Azam' today, or 'Anarkali', or 'Baiju Bawra'? Nobody has it in them to make such cinema. Today, they discuss it for two hours and make a film in a day," Chaurasia said disapprovingly. The octogenarian artiste still has hope for the younger generation, who he said are more interested in learning than his own generation was back in the day. New Delhi, Mar 8 () Mumbai-based film production company Mukta Arts, which runs multiplex chain under the brand name 'Mukta A2 Cinemas', plans to add around 25 screens by 2021 taking its total count to around 100 screens, according to a top company official. Mukta Arts, founded by Bollywood producer and director Subhash Ghai, is planning to invest around Rs 50 crore in the next two years for expansion of the multiplex chain, primarily targeting the budget segment viewers from tier-II and III cities in the domestic market. Besides, the company, which also has overseas presence and operates six screen in Bahrain, has plans to expand its operation abroad. "We currently have 74 screens across India and abroad. We are looking at cities like Chennai and Bengaluru to expand to 100 screens by the calendar year 2021," said Mukta Arts Managing Director Rahul Puri. Mukta Arts would be investing "over Rs 50 crore to reach our targets within the next two or two and a half years," he said adding that "the company is evaluating various ways to raise the funds required for the expansion". On being asked about the projection for the coming 3-4 years for Mukta A2 Cinemas, Puri said, "We intend to double the number of screens." According to its business strategy, the company would continue to focus on the Bahrain market in the gulf region and expand there. "We have a six-screen multiplex at Manama in Bahrain. We will be making an announcement shortly about expansions in Bahrain. At the moment, Bahrain is an area of focus for us as Dubai is fairly saturated," he added. In the domestic market, Mukta Arts is currently reviewing properties in Bihar and Assam. Mukta A2 Cinemas' turnover at the end of the third quarter of the financial year 2019-20 stood at Rs 65 crore. Currently, Mukta A2 Cinemas gets around 60 per cent revenue from ticket sales, 30 per cent from food and beverages and the remaining 10 per cent from advertisement. <ul><li>As more and more cases of sexual harassments in India have come to light through the <keyword id="5901457" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="MeToo">#MeToo</keyword> movement, the Indian government is setting up a <keyword id="6955125" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="4-judge-bench">4-judge bench</keyword> to address them.</li><li><keyword id="42851" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maneka-Gandhi">Maneka Gandhi</keyword> has also asked for extending the statute of limitations for reporting harassment to be increased to 10-15 years rather than just 3 months. </li><li>The ministry has also set up alternative methods of registering a complaint, in case victims don’t want to reach out to their respective Internal Complaints Committees.</li></ul>The #MeToo movement in India seems to finally be tipping towards action with the Maneka Gandhi, the minister of Women &amp; Child Development, stating that public hearings will be conducted to hear these cases of <keyword id="46530" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-assault">sexual assault</keyword> and harassment.

 A bench of four retired judges will be put in place by the ministry to hear out the cases that have surfaced during the #MeToo movement. The ministry’s also set up a dedicated portal for women to make their complaints, in case they don’t want to go to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), called ‘She-Box’. According to the notice by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, complainants can also reach out via email or tweet directly using the hashtag #HelpMeWCD.

 Gandhi’s also written to the law ministry to increase the time for reporting sexual assault to 10-15 years later. Currently, India’s laws against <keyword id="16048" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-harassment">sexual harassment</keyword> entailed in the POSH Act only allow victims to report harassment within 3 months of it happening. She added that “You will always remember the person who did it...Anger at sexual molestation never goes away.”

 The movement in India was started by a female stand up comedian, who accused Utsav Chakraborty of sending across unsolicited photos of his genitals. A frequent collaborator with All India Bakchod (AIB), India’s prominent comic collective, Chakraborty was fired. Even Tanmay Bhat, the CEO of AIB, stepped down in lieu of inaction despite knowing about the events that had transgressed. A number of women have spoken up there after calling out many eminent Bollywood personalities, including Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai, Nana Patekar and Alok Nath, the supposed Babuji (elder) in the industry. Allegations have also been levelled against the junior minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the political editor at Hindustan Times and a senior Tata Motors executive.

India is setting up a judicial bench to hold public hearings on #MeToo cases

The dust around <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword>'s callous 'raped woman remark' is failing to settle down, partly because he hasn’t yet come out with an apology, and partly because other actors are coming out with their opinions about the same. 
 <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, Salman’s good friend and co-star from the 1994 sleeper hit Andaaz Apna Apna, , is the latest to join the bandwagon, by speaking out about the issue. 
 
At a recent event, Aamir was asked about his views on Salman's comments, to which he said, "What Salman said was rather unfortunate and insensitive." 
 
It was only last week that Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his views on the ‘rape’ remarks, to which he had said, "In the last few years, I have come to realize that I have made so many inappropriate comments myself. I don't think I am someone to sit in judgment for somebody else's comment." 
 
Salman’s comments have faced flak from several Bollywood celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Sona Mohapatra, while some other celebrities, like his father, screenwriter Salim Khan and brother, actor Arbaaz Khan, actors Sonu Sood and fillmaker Subhash Ghai have also defended his remarks.

Aamir Khan labels Salman's rape remark as ‘unfortunate & insensitive’

Superstar <keyword id="16227" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajnikanth">Rajnikanth</keyword>’s next Enthiran 2 (Robot 2) has been tipped as India's most expensive film ever. Set for release next year, it's already set a record in insurance cover for an Indian movie— Rs 330 crore, surpassing Rs 300 crore for <keyword id="6396827" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="PK">PK</keyword> (2014), starring <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, said two people involved in writing the policy. 
 
State-run New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance and United India Insurance will underwrite the production, they said. When the film goes into the cinema halls, total insurance amount will double— distribution cover will equal that on production, they said. 
 
Remuneration for the top four stars of film, which is being made in Tamil and possibly other languages, is also among the highest at Rs 150 crore. Apart from the Tamil star, they include Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, who takes over from Aishwarya Rai, who was the heroine of Enthiran. S Shankar will direct again. 
 
"This is the highest ever insured movie after Aamir Khan starrer PK and Salman Khan's Kick," said Sumant Salian, business head, media and entertainment, Alliance Insurance Brokers. "Insurance cover for Robot 2 would double when the movie is ready and it goes for distribution." 
 
State-run general insurance companies have a penchant for movies with star casts as the risk of them flopping are low. Producers are increasingly opting for insurance to protect themselves against projects getting delayed because of star tantrums and other unforeseen reasons. 
 
Insurance covers risk from preproduction till the first copy of the movie. Various contingencies such as shoot cancellation, property risk, personal accident and thirdparty liabilities are also covered. Production insurance covers loss of life or property on film sets. The media liability policy is a kind of errors and omissions liability insurance, mainly insuring against legal issues arising out of a movie's content. The policy also covers post-release issues as a result of riots or strike. 
 <keyword id="113036" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="film-insurance">Film insurance</keyword> has become a part of the movie-production process in the mainstream Indian film industry as costs have increased. 
 
Baahubali, a two-part film in Telugu and other languages written and directed by SS Rajamouli, had production insurance cover of Rs 200 crore. Director and producer Subhash Ghai was the first to buy insurance cover for his film Taal, which was released in 1999.

From training Sooraj in building his physique to being with him at movie’s press conferences, Salman is using his experience in the industry as well as his star-status to create buzz for the movie. 
 
A few days back, images of Salman in a recording studio went around the internet, forcing us to think if the ‘<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Salman-Khan-scolds-Twitter-followers-like-a-Bhai/articleshow/47612143.cms">bhai</a>’ of <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> has lent his voice to the film. This has indeed happened, as confirmed by a teaser of Salman singing a love song, which would make the title track of the movie. 
 The song is ‘Main Hoon <keyword id="7029" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hero">Hero</keyword> Tera’ and would feature the lead actors of the movie. The teaser was shared by Khan himself, on the social networking site Twitter.

The last time we heard Salman singing was for the song Hangover, from the movie Kick. However, it’s for the first time that Salman has sung for someone else, and in fact, he is the only Bollywood actor of his times to have done so. In the past, we have seen Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan singing portions of their songs for themselves.

Salman Khan lends his voice to protégé Sooraj Pancholi for Hero

Mumbai Film Festival is an annual international film festival organised by MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image), a not-for-profit trust founded in 1997. The <keyword id="2558540" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="16th-Mumbai-Film-Festival">16th Mumbai Film Festival</keyword> was inaugurated yesterday, but the esteemed film festival didn’t see many stars at its opening ceremony. While it can’t be said that there was no major celebrity present at the opening, seeing the presence of <keyword id="6357861" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="ranbir-kapoor">Ranbir Kapoor</keyword> and Akhsay Kumar, the opening was still not as star-studded as one would have expected it to be. This is all the way more ironical as a bunch of <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> celebrities was seen in the promotional video for the festival, only a few of whom actually came down to attend the opening. Hosted by actress and playwright Kalki Koechlin, the event saw the presence of celebrities like <keyword id="6366471" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aishwarya-Rai">Aishwarya Rai</keyword> Bachchan, Kiran Rao, Ayan Mukherji, Shyam Benegal, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, <keyword id="2064" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Helen">Helen</keyword>, Subhash Ghai, Satish Kaushik, Ramesh and Kiran Sippy, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Huma Qureshi, Rahul Bose, Anurag Kashyap and Deepika Padukone. After the event was declared open by Mrs Bachchan, she gave the Lifetime Achievement Award to French actress <keyword id="151333" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Catherine-Deneuve">Catherine Deneuve</keyword>, followed by one to Helen, which was presented by <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword>, who graciously held Helen's black and golden clutch as she gave her ‘Thank You’ speech. 
	 

	The week-long festival would see more than 175 movies, from 65 countries,. There also would be chat shows with celebrities from Bollywood and world cinema, like Deepika Padukone, Catherine Deneuve, Anurag Kashyap, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Arjun Kapoor, and Arturo Guilem.

NEW DELHI: In the last nine months, he made millions in India run through an entire gamut of emotions: anger, aversion, pluck, mirth, amazement and much more. In all these speeches, <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> looked like a man in control of his emotions. But on Tuesday, after being elected leader of the <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> parliamentary party — in other words, the PM elect — he choked with emotions. Modi wept.

Before him, his senior L K Advani had wept. In fact, he triggered the emotions in Modi. Years from now those present at Parliament's historic Central Hall on Tuesday, may or may not remember what Modi said. But few, if any, will ever forget the moment when tears welled up in the BJP leader's voice and eyes revealing a carefully concealed softer side. 
 
Responding to Advani's speech where he had said that Modi had done the party a kripa (favour), he said, "Advaniji ne ek shabd kahaa. Main Advanji se prarthna karoonga ki woh iss shabd ka istmaal na kare. Unhone kaha ki Narendra bhai ne kirpa ki (Advaniji said that I have done a favour to BJP. I will request him not to use this term)." 
 
 
 
At this juncture, the BJP leader broke down. He paused to sip water and took a moment to gather himself before continuing. 
 
"Kya ma ki seva kabhi kirpa ho sakti hai? Katai nahin ho sakti hai. Jaise Bharat meri ma hai waise hi BJP bhi meri ma hai. Aur isliyee beta kabhi ma par kirpa nahin karta, sirf samarpit bhav se ma ki sewa karta hai (Can a son do any favour by serving the mother? Not at all. Like India, BJP is also my mother. A son never does any favour. He only serves his mother in a dedicated manner)," he said. 
 
 
 
Like a gifted artist who makes the audience sway with the emotion, Modi appeared to be making others emotional. Some like Ravi Shankar Prasad were tearful. 
 
It was evident right from the very beginning that it was day of emotional drama. While entering the Parliament building, Modi knelt and placed his forehead on the green carpeted steps like a devotee before a temple. "This is the temple of democracy," he said later. 
 At the start his speech, Modi was overcome up with feelings while talking about former BJP <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">Prime Minister</keyword> <keyword id="47100" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Atal-Bihari-Vajpayee">Atal Bihari Vajpayee</keyword>, who is unwell. "Had Vajpayeeji been well, his presence would have been 'sone par suhaga' (icing on the cake)." 
 
Throughout the speech, Modi underlined the power of the pause during speech. Emotions aside, he not only displayed his command over the Hindi language but also spoke like a man in total control and command of everything he surveys.
