Yes Bank Yes bank has exited CG Power &amp; Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG Power) by selling its entire stake-holding in the company, the bank said on Wednesday. Yes bank has sold 6,34,00,000 equity shares having a nominal value of ₹2 each, constituting 10.12% of the share capital of CG Power in various tranches, last being on August 18, 2020, the private sector lender said in a regulatory filing. The shares of Yes Bank closed 5% higher yesterday. Ruchi Soya Patanjali Group firm Ruchi Soya on Wednesday reported around 13% decline in its net profit to ₹12.25 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. It also announced the resignation of Acharya Balkrishna as managing director of the company. The shares of Ruchi Soya closed 5% higher yesterday. Titan Company The company in a release said that it is fully hedged with gold on lease and gold bought from stock markets. It said that the ineffective hedge loss due to mismatch in sales quantity would be reversed subsequently with a corresponding reversal of stock gain accrued in the first quarter ended June. HSIL Limited The board of directors of HSIL in a meeting held yesterday approved the proposal for buyback of fully paid-up equity shares of the face value of ₹2 each from the open market, amounting to ₹70 crore. The shares of HSIL Limited ended 1% lower yesterday. Bombay Burmah Trading The Wadia group-owned, Bombay Burmah Trading told investors that its board would meet on September 24, to consider the proposal of raising up to ₹75 crore via non-convertible debentures. The company in a stock exchange filing said it aims to use that money for a private placement basis. The shares of Bombay Burmah Trading ended 2% lower yesterday. GMM Pfaudler GMM Pfaudler said the company's promoter would sell 25.71 lakh shares via offer for sale at a floor price set at ₹3,500 per share on September 22 and 23. The shares of GMM Pfaudler ended 3% lower yesterday. Muthoot Finance, Manappuram Finance, IIFL Finance Fitch Ratings took rating action on the long-term issuer default ratings of four non-bank financial companies. For Manappuram Finance rating has been affirmed at ‘BB-’ and ‘Rating Watch Negative’ (RWN) has been removed. Whereas Muthoot Finance’s rating has also been affirmed at ‘BB’, but RWN has been removed. The shares of Muthoot Finance, Manappuram Finance and IIFL Finance ended 6%, 4% and 5% lower yesterday, respectively. Route Mobile The recently debuted Route Mobile received a stellar response from investors. The company dominated the bulk deals on Monday. Goldman Sachs acquired 24.09 lakh shares at the debut for ₹705.95 per share, and Kuwait Investment Authority acquired 5.79 lakh shares at ₹697.25 per share. The shares of Route Mobile ended 8% lower yesterday. IPO watch: CAMS, Angel Broking and Chemcon Speciality Chemicals CAMS and Chemcon Speciality Chemicals were subscribed 0.82 times and 5.20 times respectively yesterday.  Banks in a bind HDFC Bank, the latest among the blue-chips to declare its earnings, lost over 3% in share value on Monday. It was not just because the earnings were poor. Yes, the margin shrank a bit and the amount of bad loans rose but it was the pessimism in the management's commentary that did the stock in. “The tone of management commentary may spook the markets. However, it is still one of the best managed banks out there,” Jefferies said in its report. HDFC Bank has reported a 23% growth in revenue and a 21% rise in net profit compared to a year earlier. The rise in bad loans from farmers was offset by a spike in other income. IndusInd Bank, whose reported profit grew 38%, suffered from the fears of a spike in bad loans because of the company's exposure to the infrastructure lending giant IL&amp;FS that has gone bust.  The slump in demand for cars and two-wheelers, the lack of enthusiasm among home buyers, and spiralling consumer demand overall have dented bank earnings overall. Yes Bank's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/yes-bank-q1-earnings-report-yes-bank-share-price-q1-earnings-repor/articleshow/70261380.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">quarterly profit between April and June 2019 fell 91%</a> compared to the same period a year ago, but it was still way better than estimates-- showing the lack of investor confidence.  The elephant in the room The stock of Reliance Industries (RIL), one of India's biggest conglomerates, got a fillip on the first trading day after its earnings. But truly, the investors were just celebrating the fact that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/mukesh-ambanis-reliance-industries-profit-grows-6-8-even-as-gross-refining-margin-hits-the-lowest-in-18-quarters/articleshow/70294401.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">the company's mainstay petrochemicals business</a>was not doing as badly as they had feared. That alone was enough to prop up RIL's share price by over 2% on Monday. The Mukesh Ambani-owned company has seen very good traction in its relatively new businesses like Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail but, as many analysts have pointed out, the core businesses petrochemicals and refining -- which make for the lion's share of the company's gross revenue-- are under threat. "Reduction in heavy crude oil supply post US sanctions, global refining capacity addition this year exceeding expected incremental demand, and slowdown in petchem demand as a result of the US-China spat will weigh on RIL’s refining and petchem business," a HDFC Securities report said. Tech: Tightrope walk India's top-tier software and IT service companies, TCS and Infosys, have had a bittersweet response from investors so far. The slowdown in TCS' revenue and profit were on expected lines, according to the broking house Motilal Oswal. Six Indian blue-chip companies have declared earnings so far - most of them lack the 'markets mojo'

<ul><li>State Bank of India (SBI), Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and other banking stocks are treading on the side of caution ahead of the <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword>’s hearing on moratoriums loans today. </li><li>ICICI Bank is the worst hit with its share price dipping by more than 2%.</li><li>The Supreme Court is yet to pass a verdict on whether the moratorium should be extended and if interest on interest should be charged. </li></ul>The Supreme Court is set to resume its hearing on waiving interest on loans that availed moratorium during the coronavirus pandemic today. The last time around, the bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan indicated that it was <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/finance/banks/news/supreme-court-inclined-to-excuse-moratorium-interest-on-interest-as-it-gives-the-government-another-two-weeks-to-file-detailed-affidavit/articleshow/78033878.cms">‘inclined’ to excuse the ‘interest on interest.’</a> However, since then, the hearing has been postponed twice to give the government, <keyword id="6354335" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (RBI) and other stakeholders more time to file their response. The RBI’s stance on loan moratorium In its affidavit, the RBI told the Supreme Court that extending the moratorium beyond six months will impact overall credit discipline and have a ‘debilitating impact’ on the credit creation process. On the issue of compound interest, the RBI asserted that waiver of the same would result in ‘significant economic costs’ for banks to absorb. The larger ripple effect may lead to implications for borrowers and undermine broader financial stability. And, according to analysis by Emkay, only two companies, LIC Housing Finance and M&amp;M Financial Services, in that space do not meet the conditions, under current circumstances, for paying dividends set by the central bank. However, M&amp;M Finance has clarified that it would be eligible. Simply put, CRAR is a measure of how much capital the company has compared to the riskiness of its loans. If the borrower fails to repay, the capital would be the cushion to absorb the loss. And LIC Housing Finance fails to meet the RBI threshold on this count. The capital adequacy ratio has been 14.4%% for the company in the last two financial years and 14.5% for the first half of the current one, the report said. The way out of this is that the company can raise money from the market to boost this figure past the 15% mark, and then, shareholders can expect a dividend. M&amp;M Financial, on the other hand, doesn’t make the cut on RBI’s benchmark for paying dividend because the amount of bad loans on its books is a little more than what the regulator likes. The circular has set the threshold at 4% while M&amp;M Financial has a net NPA (non-performing assets) of 4.7%. However, if the firm is able to recover enough loans by March 2021 to bring the metric below 4%, dividend may be back on the table. In the year before COVID-struck, the one ending in March 2019, the company paid a handsome 25.7% dividend to shareholders. On the other hand, in a statement to Business Insider, M&amp;M Financial stated “As per the circular, RBI has proposed a twin matrix of CRAR and NNPA and accordingly specified 4 categories based on a combination of both. CRAR of MMFSL has been above 18% for the last 3 years. Hence, the company will fall in Category B as per the matrix. Secondly, MMFSL’s net NPA at the end of September 30 was 4.7%, based on which our permissible dividend payout ratio is ‘up to 20%’,” the company said. This is not the first time the spotlight has fallen on M&amp;M Finance’s chunk of bad loans. The pandemic has only increased the risk of defaults and therefore the company too has been aggressively setting aside money to cover the losses if they occur. “As we progress, the next six months, which is normally the good six months, we would not see a decline in the gross NPA, and we will maintain our stance on aggressive provisions… if we start seeing things are not improving as we think, then we may take higher provision, whichever is necessary,” Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ramesh Iyer told Business Insider <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/mahindra-and-mahindra-finance-managing-director-gets-candid-about-the-rights-issue/articleshow/77212386.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">in an exclusive chat in July 2020</a>.
