The programme is aimed to help women founders address challenges that are unique to their experience, including fundraising, hiring and many others. The inaugural batch of Google for <keyword id="8826137" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups-Accelerator" source="Orion">Startups Accelerator</keyword> - India Women Founders programme will accept up to 20 women-founded/ co-founded startups in India, including startups at the minimum viable product stage, and support them through a three-month programme. The programme will place special focus on areas like access to networks, access to capital, hiring challenges, mentorship and many others which, for a variety of social reasons and low representation, prove challenging for female founders. In addition to these, the curriculum will include workshops and support around AI/ML, Cloud, UX, android, web, product strategy and growth, as well as provide access to a global community of women founders. India is the world's third largest startup capital, trailing only the US and China. It boasts over a 100 unicorns with 22 getting added to the list just in 2022, spanning verticals such as e-commerce, healthtech, fintech and many others. However, only 15 per cent of these <keyword id="3357129" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-unicorns" source="Orion">Indian unicorns</keyword> have one or more women founders. "The new programme is part of a larger effort by Google towards improving the representation of women across different sections of India's digitally-trained workforce, be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to upskill or young graduates seeking a head start on their career, with the ultimate objective of making technology universally relevant and helpful," the tech giant wrote in a blogpost. The applications for the programme are open till July 10, it added. Google to launch accelerator programme for women entrepreneurs in India

<keyword id="6355629" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="google">Google</keyword> on Wednesday expanded its programme for startups to support startups working on the solutions to solve real-life challenges towards the new normal post COVID-19 landscape in India. <keyword id="9416148" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="google-for-startups">Google for Startups</keyword> has opened applications for the new batch of <keyword id="9416150" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="google-for-startups-accelerator">Google for Startups Accelerator</keyword>, with a special focus on health-tech, fin-tech, edu-tech, agri-tech, retail and SaaS startups, the company said in a statement. The next batch will commence in August 2020 and the last date of applications is June 30. This will be the fourth class of startups mentored by Google, which has so far closely mentored over 60 startups in India to date. "We have been working very closely with over 250 Startups founders over the last two months, holding consults with our network of experts, mentors and VCs to help solve for the immediate challenges faced by the founder community," informed Paul Ravindranath G, Programme Manager, Google for <keyword id="9416146" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="startups-accelerator-india">Startups Accelerator India</keyword>. In addition to the fresh call for applications, Google for Startups also announced the launch of 'Emerging stronger: Playbook' for startups to face the Covid-19 Challenge. "We have captured the work of these last two months into a handy playbook which we hope will benefit the larger ecosystem," Ravindranath added. Beyond the Accelerator, Google for Startups will continue to offer support to startups via its partner programme and mentor network.

A cohort of ten innovative <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> from across India are participating in a 2-week <keyword id="2443956" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Accelerator-Program">accelerator program</keyword> in Moscow. 
 The focus will be on science and technology based <keyword id="107737" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Entrepreneurship">entrepreneurship</keyword>, and teams will get educational, practical, networking and cultural insights that will make for a structured introduction into the Russian market. 
 
The 10 startups selected for the programme are in areas of medical devices and applications, energy, IoT, Edtech and Retail Tech. They have been identified by partners of this programme - IIT-B’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Mumbai and Global Venture Alliance in Moscow - on the basis of scalability and potential of immediate partnership with businesses in Russia. 
 
By the end of the program, the entrepreneurs are expected to acquire knowledge from experts in Russia in order to find partners, clients and test their products in local market through a collaborative ecosystem.

They start delivery at 6 am in the morning, and it goes on until midnight. Lokal Lokal is a news app which delivers news and classifieds in vernacular content. The app currently delivers news in Telugu for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Wingman The startup helps sales representatives with on-screen and real-time analysis. The startup’s AI assistant helps the employees, and assists them with cue cards for their presentations, helping them improve performance. DigiPrex DigPrex works as an online pharmacy where patients can share prescription online and get medicines delivered at home, via through Whatsapp. Khabri The podcast platform offers vernacular content to Indians. Their content ranges from news to inspirational content and even jobs, where users can tune in to listen to information on-the-go. Mela Mela is an e-commerce platform that enables group buying through WhatsApp and Facebook. The platform helps collective buying at much cheaper costs and works much like the popular Chinese platform Pinduoduo. The accelerator is being run with the NewSchools non-profit venture fund, which has had many big-name backers including The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation and the Walton Foundation.
Zynga.org and NewSchools have already selected a handful of emerging ed tech companies to join the accelerator's first class, which kicks off this summer.
The companies accepted so far are Kidaptive, LocoMotiveLabs and Motion Math. They have all launched learning games and apps already.
Edmodo, a social learning platform for education with 19 million users, has signed on as a charter partner, too.

With the 13 new startups launched this week, Microsoft has graduated 26 Israeli startups and is claiming success on par with TechStars and Y Combinator. Graduates have "raised an average $900,000" in seed money from U.S. and Israeli venture capitalists, he said.
There is one big difference between Microsoft's program and the others: Microsoft doesn't personally invest and it doesn't take a stake, Microsoft's Rob Craft, senior director of Cloud Strategy, told us. 
Startups are not required to use Microsoft technologies or to develop products for Microsoft platforms. But, since the point is to launch startups on Microsoft's cloud, Azure, the company gives them $60,000 worth of free Windows Azure service for two years plus three years worth of Microsoft software (Office, Windows Server, development tools).
We talked to one of the new graduates, Pixtr's Aviv Gadot, cofounder and CEO, who confirmed that Microsoft isn't pushing its own wares beyond Azure. Pixtr is a mobile video editing app that runs on the iPhone but not on Windows Phone. The founders use don't even use Windows PCs. They use Macs.
Microsoft also has plenty of competition. There are more than two dozen accelerators/incubators in the "startup nation" of Israel, including the <a href="http://www.campustelaviv.com/">Campus Tel Aviv</a> "hub" program run by Google.
