Sony confirms PS5 Pro is not coming to India, here is why

A total of 81,329 drug samples were tested in 2019-20 out of which 2497 samples were declared as not being of standard quality and 199 were declared of spurious nature. Similarly, in 2020-21, out of the total 84874 samples lifted for testing, 2652 samples were declared not of standard quality while 263 were found to be spurious. A total of 220 and 164 people were arrested in 2019-20 and 2020-21 respectively. Officials said that the government has taken a series of measures including strengthening of legal provisions, workshops and training programmes for manufacturers and regulatory officials and steps such as risk based inspection. As per a recent Parliament reply, the government has taken various regulatory measures since 2019 to ensure the quality of medicines in the country. The Drugs Rules, 1945 were amended providing that every Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (bulk drug) manufactured or imported in India shall bear Quick Response Code on its label. The stored data or information shall include the minimum particulars including unique product identification code, Batch No, manufacturing date, expiry date. The Drugs Rules, 1945 were amended providing that any person who sells or distributes any drug shall be responsible for the quality of that drug as well as other regulatory compliances along with the manufacturer under these rules. The rules were amended providing that "in case the applicant intends to market the drug under a brand name or trade name, the applicant shall furnish an undertaking in Form 51 to the Licensing Authority to the effect that to the best of his knowledge based on search in trademarks registry, central database for brand name or trade name of drugs maintained by <keyword id="170943" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="central-drugs-standard-control-organisation" source="Orion">Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation</keyword>, literature and reference books on details of drug formulations in India, and internet, such or similar brand name or trade name is not already in existence with respect to any drug in the country and the proposed brand name or trade name shall not lead to any confusion or deception in the market," said the reply by the <keyword id="210071" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ministry-of-health" source="Orion">Ministry of Health</keyword>. UPI refund to digital arrest scam, here are some online scams you need to be aware of

Alarmed at the unabated EV fire incidents, the Centre has now sent show cause notices to EV manufacturers like <keyword id="4393078" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="ola-electric" source="Orion">Ola Electric</keyword>, <keyword id="6077703" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="okinawa-autotech" source="Orion">Okinawa Autotech</keyword> and <keyword id="7583348" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="pure-ev" source="Orion">Pure EV</keyword>, among others, warning them why a penal action should not be taken against them for delivering faulty electric two-wheelers to the public. Reliable sources said that the EV makers have been given time till July end to respond in detail to the notices. Once the responses are in, the government will decide which penal action is to be taken, if any, against the EV makers at fault. The preliminary findings from the government-constituted probe committee on EV fires also identified issues with battery cells or design in nearly all of the electric two-wheeler fire incidents in the country. The experts found defects in battery cells as well as battery design in nearly all EV fires. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (<keyword id="6355142" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="drdo" source="Orion">DRDO</keyword>), which was earlier tasked with investigating electric two-wheeler fire incidents by the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, also found serious defects in the EV two-wheeler batteries. These defects occurred because the electric two-wheeler manufacturers like Okinawa Autotech, Pure EV, Jitendra Electric Vehicles, Ola Electric and Boom Motors may have used "lower-grade materials to cut costs", the DRDO probe had revealed. <ul><li><keyword id="169284" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="ASCI">ASCI</keyword> has partnered with <keyword id="154680" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="FSSAI">FSSAI</keyword>. </li><li>With this partnership, the industry bodies aim to safeguard consumers against misleading claims in food and beverage (F&amp;B) advertisements. </li></ul>The <keyword id="120108" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Advertising-Standards-Council-of-India">Advertising Standards Council of India</keyword> (ASCI) has signed an agreement with the <keyword id="564221" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Food-Safety-and-Standards-Authority">Food Safety and Standards Authority</keyword> of India (FSSAI) to safeguard consumers against misleading claims in food and beverage (F&amp;B) advertisements. The agreement was signed in the presence of <keyword id="11579676" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="shri-arun-singhal">Shri Arun Singhal</keyword>, CEO, FSSAI, and Professor Bejon Misra, Adviser, Public Affairs, ASCI, on July 1st. As per the agreement, ASCI will identify advertisements which prima facie violate provisions of Food Safety And Standards (Advertising And Claims) Regulations, 2018, and FSSAI would further investigate these. Under the agreement, ASCI will set up a three-member expert panel to evaluate F&amp;B advertising identified by the ASCI monitoring team. There has been a marked increase in the number of complaints against F&amp;B ads during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the last financial year (FY) ASCI has processed a total number of 285 complaints compared to 175 in FY 2019-20. So, claims by F&amp;B brands, particularly those related to health and nutrition, are under greater scrutiny. Food and health continue to be important focus areas for ASCI. With this association, ASCI further strengthens its 360-degree approach of protecting consumers as well as guiding brands, agencies, and influencers towards greater responsibility. Manisha Kapoor, Secretary-General, ASCI, said: “With this agreement, ASCI will intensify its scrutiny of the F&amp;B sector. We will tap our National Advertising Monitoring Service, which monitors over 900 TV channels and publications, and over 3,000 websites. Besides national brands, we will examine regional and local ones. Our experts, with decades of experience in the F&amp;B sector, will shortlist those advertisements that require further scrutiny by FSSAI.” Subhash Kamath, Chairman, ASCI, added: “This is a significant collaboration. The common goal of consumer protection drives us all to share skills, expertise and resources in the most effective way to curb the menace of misleading advertising.”

Alarmed at the rising pesky mobile calls and text messages by telemarketers, the <keyword id="30356" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="telecom-regulatory-authority-of-india" source="Orion">Telecom Regulatory Authority of India</keyword> (TRAI) on Thursday directed all telecom service providers to reverify registered headers and message templates on distributed ledger technologies (<keyword id="4388846" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dlt" source="Orion">DLT</keyword>) platform and block all unverified headers and message templates within 30 and 60 days, respectively. In a new directive, the telecom regulator said that the mobile operators need to ensure that temporary headers are deactivated immediately after the time duration for which such headers were created. TRAI issued new directions to providers to stop the misuse of headers and message templates and curb unauthorised promotions using telecom resources. The telecom regulator told the mobile operators to remove confusion among recipients of messages and prevent their misuse and no look-alike headers (headers which are similar by virtue of a combination of small case or large case letters) are to be registered by <keyword id="16550150" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="access-providers" source="Orion">access providers</keyword> in names of different principal entities. "Access providers have been directed to bar all telemarketers, who are not registered on the DLT platform from handling the message template scrubbing and delivery of messages to recipients through Access Providers' network," read the TRAI note. It directed mobile operators to take action against erring telemarketers as per the provisions of the regulations and also initiate actions as per relevant legal laws. All the telecom service providers have been directed to comply with the above directions within 30 days. Earlier this week, a survey revealed that two in three Indians get three or more pesky calls every day and 50 per cent of them said such calls originate from the personal number of people. According to <keyword id="6379818" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="localcircles" source="Orion">LocalCircles</keyword> which conducted the survey, 45 per cent of people get on average 3-5 pesky calls each day while 16 per cent claimed to get 6-10 such calls per day. Around 60 per cent received most calls related to "selling financial services", 18 per cent got most calls related to "selling real estate" while 10 per cent received most calls "offering a job/earnings opportunity." TRAI has called a meeting with mobile phone operators on February 17 to discuss the quality of wireline and wireless services. The meeting will discuss potential "measures and action plan to improve the quality of service (QoS), review the current QoS standards, QoS for 5G services, and unsolicited commercial communications". TRAI in 2022 had released a consultation paper on the mandatory implementation of Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) in telecommunication networks which are designed to display the name of the caller (even if the receiver has not saved the same on their device/SIM) on the receiver's screen when the call connects. However, complaints from consumers continued to rise and unsolicited communications is something people have been regularly discussing about, according to LocalCircles.
