Nearly 55 per cent students in Classes 4 to 12 have reported health issues, mainly due to prolonged online learning during the <keyword id="43587" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="pandemic">pandemic</keyword>.<br /><br />The health issues mainly include <keyword id="23666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="stress">stress</keyword>, severe <keyword id="3623469" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="eyesight-problems">eyesight problems</keyword> and <keyword id="27538" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="insomnia">insomnia</keyword>.<br /><br />These are the findings of a study -- 'The Impact of Online Teaching during the <keyword id="11715924" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pandemic-on-learning">Pandemic on Learning</keyword> and Well-being' -- conducted by students of Lucknow-based <keyword id="3021924" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Spring-Dale-College">Spring Dale College</keyword> (SDC) chain of schools.<br /><br />The report is based on a survey, including group discussion, of 4,454 respondents -- 3,300 students, 1,000 parents and 154 teachers -- of various schools.<br /><br />The respondents were queried about the problems and benefits of <keyword id="977497" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-classes">online classes</keyword>.<br /><br />In the study, 54-58 per cent students said that they experienced severe physical strain, eyesight troubles, backache and headache due to postural problems, apart from lethargy, fatigue, irritability and obesity.<br /><br />Nearly 50 per cent complained of stress and 22.7 per cent of insomnia while about 65 per cent of students cited technical glitches, network problem, difficulty concentrating while studying through mobile phones.<br /><br />About 45-47 per cent of students had problems in interacting with teachers and classmates and said not all people are seen on screen at a time.<br /><br />Students also complained of loss in confidence and low motivation.<br /><br />The positive result of online education, however, is that both students and teachers have become tech savvy.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Over 60 per cent of the students said they got additional leisure time which they used in gardening, art and craft while 65 per cent said they spent free time at home which strengthened family bonding.<br /><br />However, both students and teachers yearned to get back to classrooms and felt that physical interaction helped in improving educational standards.--IANS<br /><br />amita/dpb

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Red Lobster has announced which restaurants it wants to close after filing for bankruptcy.</li><li>It's already closed dozens of restaurants throughout the US.</li></ul><p>Red Lobster has released a list of all the restaurants it wants to close after it filed for bankruptcy.</p><p>The beleaguered seafood chain voluntarily <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/red-lobster-files-bankruptcy-continue-trading-not-disappearing-2024-5">filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy</a> on May 19. The 56-year-old chain had been struggling for years with high levels of leadership turnover, expensive leases, and the effects of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/red-lobster-endless-shrimp-bankruptcy-private-equity-debt-real-estate-2024-5">private equity involvement</a>.</p><p>In filings, Red Lobster said it operated about 570 restaurants and attached lists of 120 it wanted to reject the leases of.</p><p>It said that these leases were "likely to continue to drive losses" for the company.</p><p>"The Debtors' meticulous, well-considered lease rejection plan is centered on value maximization," it said. "In order to manage their business and assets responsibly and economically, the Debtors seek to reject unexpired leases of nonresidential property, which are a burden on the Debtors and their estates."</p><p>Of the restaurants included in the list, 24 are in Florida, where Red Lobster is based, 15 are in Texas, and nine are in California. Its flagship Times Square location in Manhattan is also on the list.</p><p>This is in addition to the dozens of locations that closed in May.
