He offered them the same deal that they asked for Rs 10 lakh for one per cent equity. <keyword id="20062056" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vineeta-singh" source="keywords">Vineeta Singh</keyword>, the co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics offered them Rs 50 lakh for 5 per cent equity. <keyword id="20292047" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="namita-thapar" source="keywords">Namita Thapar</keyword>, the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd, gave another offer of Rs 20 lakh for one per cent equity. Vineeta then revised her offer and said: "Rs 20 lakh for one per cent equity." Anupam Mittal, the founder and CEO of Shaadi.com said: "Look, you still have about Rs 40 to 45 lakh in the bank. You're almost down to the wire. You have a burn of Rs 4 lakh. You'll run out of money by March. And before you run out of money, you should always have at least a six-month runway to raise money." Namita continued saying, "We'll connect you to investors." Finally the Hyperlab sealed the deal with Aman Gupta of Rs 25 lakh in exchange of one per cent equity.  “We’re not a traditional media company; we provide digital software solutions to governing bodies from all around the world. This includes statistics, points tables, leaderboards, registrations, live scoring, CRM, communications, niche social networking, high performance reporting and talent identification (scouting). The same services are offered in India as well as internationally,” said <keyword id="522726" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Neil-Martin">Neil Martin</keyword>, COO of CricHQ, in a conversation with Business Insider. 
 So is it like the movie ‘<keyword id="248886" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Moneyball">Moneyball</keyword>’? –“Yeah, somewhat. It’s one of my favourite movies though. We don’t provide ball by ball statistics but we do provide data based on performance. For instance, how does Virat plays against left hand spinners or what players are suited for which match (helps them decide the squad with numbers). 
 
Monetization &amp; Traction 
 
Neil stated that they’re currently working with <keyword id="66464" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyderabad-Cricket-Association">Hyderabad Cricket Association</keyword>, <keyword id="1624651" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chhattisgarh-Cricket-Association">Chhattisgarh Cricket Association</keyword>, <keyword id="104138" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kerala-Cricket-Association">Kerala Cricket Association</keyword> and then a number of district, academies, tournaments, and clubs in India. He further claimed that they’re adding 30-40 clients every month.&#xa0; 
 
“We now have 4 registered offices in India (New Delhi, Bangalore and two in Kochi) and 75 staff members, which will rise to over 100 this year. 4 State Associations are signed as our customers, and there are more in the pipeline. We have over 400 other clients- including Districts, Academies, Corporate Events and over 1 million active users,” he added. 
 
The company works on a scaling model (changes with the size of client). When further asked Neil explained, “There are 2 main revenue streams. Software license fees &amp; advertising/sponsorship. There are many other future revenue streams but they are all offshoots of these core principals.” 
 
Funding 
 
CricHQ last raised $10M from a Singapore based firm Tembusu Partners. Neil further stated that they’re planning to raise another round very soon. They’ve raised a total of ~$21M in five rounds. They acquired TCS27 (cricket software for recording scores for cricket matches) in November last year and Turning Square sports analysis and prediction platform in March 2013. 
 
Sport has adapted technology quickly over the last ten years, collecting data to enhance athletic performance. Now professional clubs have understood that this data is valuable in different courses as well, to make the match-day encounter all the more energizing and to reach those at home. This is the present revolution in sport. 
 
I don't think individuals are asking themselves enough, how you utilize this impressive tech innovation to help the trainer, the athlete, the video guy, the analytics guy, the coach between games, the coach amid the game. The deadline for applications is May 15, with the first class of startups beginning the three-month program in Atlanta in August 2020. "We're at this really interesting intersection between technology and sport, and entrepreneurial innovation," Jenna Kurath, vice president of accelerator operations and partnerships at Comcast, told Business Insider. "We become this natural catalyst to be the right ones to bridge together startup founders and entrepreneurs who are looking to gain access into this space."Despite its credentials - Comcast had $94.5 billion in revenue in 2018 - it is entering a crowded market. In 2019, for example, the nationwide incubator program TechStars <a href="https://www.sporttechie.com/techstars-indianapolis-sports-technology-capital-accelerator/">launched a sports-focused accelerator</a> in Indianapolis and is providing the 10 startups that are accepted every year $120,000 in investment. London-based HYPE Sports Innovation <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/hype-capital-to-launch-a-75-million-sports-tech-fund-300856563.html">also announced</a> last year a new, $75 million fund tailored to sports tech. Several athletic organizations, like Arsenal Football Club, have their own innovation hubs as well. But the company is hoping its slate of partners will differentiate it from the other initiatives. Comcast brands NBC Sports, Sky Sports, and Golf Channel are all partners in SportsTech, along with NASCAR, US Ski &amp; Snowboard, and USA Swimming. Helping to run the initiative is Boomtown Accelerators, a startup bootcamp based in Boulder, Colorado. The consortium of partners gives the startups not only access to a wide spectrum of industry leaders who can provide valuable advice, but also help in solving potential challenges that may arise across different sports - especially critical insights, since many participants will be aiming to scale in the different verticals. "Our biggest differentiator is the active participation level of all these large... multi-billion-dollar organizations," said Will Connors, president of Comcast Cable's central division, which encompasses 17 states. <h2>'More eyeballs watch sports on our platform' </h2>It's not Comcast's first attempt to build relationships with promising startups.It launched LIFT Labs in Philadelphia in 2017, an accelerator tailored specifically for media and entertainment companies, as well as The Farm in Atlanta that is more broadly focused outside of Comcast's core businesses. Through those two ventures, the firm has equity in 60 startups. The sheer number of sports tech companies that tried to get into those two programs led Comcast to launch one specific to the industry. "It started to force conversations within our organization," said Connors. It also made it easier that Comcast already has such a presence in sports. The company <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/05/sports/olympics/nbc-comcast-rio-games-future-of-television.html">paid $12 billion</a> for exclusive rights to air the Olympics through 2032. It is also the title sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide Series through 2024, among other commitments. "We write more checks I think than anybody. On a consumption basis, more eyeballs watch sports on our platform around the world versus anybody else," Connors said. Comcast will pour $50,000 into each startup for a minimum of 6% equity. Participants will have access to other perks - including discounted cloud storage from providers like Amazon Web Services, totaling as much as $20 million in annual investment - more than its other two accelerators. In return, the partners involved will have the first opportunity for licensing agreements or potential acquisitions. The accelerator will focus on seven areas, including sports betting and fan engagement.
