The same day he took Wix public, selling almost 500,000 of his shares and pocketing about $8 million, he also sold a startup that he had invested in (and was on the board of), <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/both-eric-schmidt-and-steve-ballmer-love-this-guys-startup-that-makes-windows-less-frustrating-2013-5">Soluto</a>, he told Business Insider.
Shortly after the NASDAQ bell rang, he was running around New York signing papers for the sale.
"I was probably the first guy in history to have sold a company and IPO at the same time," he laughs.
<keyword id="1305005" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Soluto">Soluto</keyword> was reportedly bought for about $130 million by a U.S. company called Asurion, <a href="http://www.haaretz.com/business/.premium-1.555312">according to the Israeli news site Haaretz</a>. Abrahami didn't spill the exact sum but did confirmed it was over $100 million. He was an angel investor in the company founded in 2008. It had raised $18 million from a number of investors including Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors fund.
As for Wix's IPO, it was being heavily watched by investors in the U.S. and Israel and the results were inconclusive. Wix sold 7.7 million shares, priced at $16.50. Shares didn't pop or sink.
That can mean that shares were priced fairly. If shares pop too much after the opening bell, it means that the company could have priced them higher and made more money.
Abrahami was happy with the IPO. "If we opened at $16.50 and closed the day at $30, we would have just given away for free a lot of money," he said.
The Wix IPO raised $127 million total and the company will use the money to hire more engineers and build new features.
As for his personal windfall on Wednesday, he's going to continue to be an angel investor in Israeli startups, he told us.
Meanwhile, a number of other up-and-coming Israeli companies are contemplating going public soon. While Wix's IPO wasn't spectacular, it didn't flop. So we'll see how many more give it a go in 2014.

Israeli startup <keyword id="1305005" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Soluto">Soluto</keyword> offers a software service just for them.
It was the constant calls from his mom that prompted cofounder and CEO Tomer Dvir to create Soluto five years ago.
"For the majority of people, technology doesn't come naturally. The effect is that they don't enjoy it. They don't share as many things with their friends and family. They don't enjoy music and videos as much as they could. It's just too complicated," Dvir told Business Insider.

Soluto is <a href="https://www.soluto.com/business/pricing">free for up to three PCs</a> with various monthly plans for small businesses, enterprises and, with a new service launched last week, for resellers.
Soluto first gained attention in the U.S. in 2010 when it won the $50,000 best-of-show TechCrunch Disrupt best of show prize.

Schmidt opened his wallet for Soluto. He invested through his Innovation Endeavors fund, which has a Tel Aviv office. Soluto raised $18 million to date from a variety of investors within Israel, the US and Europe.
Ballmer was interested for a different reason. Because Soluto specializes in <keyword id="6354717" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Windows">Windows</keyword> and supports about about 3 million PCs, it collects a lot of data on Windows crashes and problems.
Microsoft made Soluto into a "BizSpark Elite" partner, giving Soluto free and discounted access to lots of Microsoft software. Soluto runs on Microsoft's cloud, Azure, and Ballmer personally met with Dvir on one of his trips to Israel.

Naftali Bennett: The tech millionaire son of Berkeley 'left-wingers' who is poised to take over from Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu

Vurb's mission <a href="http://techcrunch.com/2013/02/20/contextual-content-engine-vurb-wants-to-make-the-internet-seamless/" target="_blank">is to make mobile web browsing a whole lot easier</a> by connecting and compiling relevant information for you.
The runner-up was IMI Technologies.
Past TechCrunch Disrupt NY winners include Soluto, Getaround, UberConference, and Enigma. All four of those startups have fared pretty well, but none is a runaway success, at least not yet.
Soluto, the winner of Disrupt's inaugural event in New York in 2010, has raised $18 million in funding to continue offering support tools to small businesses for managing and fixing their PCs. Just last month, it introduced a new service to support small businesses with up to 10 PCs.
Getaround, a peer-to-peer car rental startup, has raised $19 million to date from investors including Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Collaborative Fund, Menlo Ventures, and CrunchFund. It's still a relatively young company but is definitely a rising star in the "sharing economy." Just last month, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/getaround-partnership-with-san-francisco-2014-4#!KyJNz" target="_blank">Getaround partnered with the city of San Francisco to get access to 450 on-street parking spots</a>.
UberConference, the winner of TechCrunch Disrupt 2012, has done pretty well. Earlier this year, it partnered with billion-dollar startup Evernote to share notes in conference calls.
Enigma, the winner of TechCrunch Disrupt 2013, aims to make sorting through public data a breeze. Earlier this year, <a href="http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/enigma-technologies" target="_blank">Enigma raised a $4.5 million Series A round</a>.

It is second only to Silicon Valley as a hub of tech innovation.
As Israel's tech industry matures, it has, so far, <a href="http://www.nasdaq.com/screening/companies-by-region.aspx?region=Middle+East&amp;country=Israel">produced 68 public companies traded on Nasdaq. </a>
It has also increasingly <a href="http://www.haaretz.com/business/.premium-1.575541">attracted investment</a> by venture capitalists worldwide. And it's hottest companies have been a big target of acquisitions, particularly by big U.S. tech companies.
For instance, among the 20 hottest startups <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-20-hottest-startups-in-israel-2013-5">we named on our 2013 list</a>, Waze <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-buys-1-billion-navigation-app-waze-final-amount-not-yet-disclosed-2013-6">was bought by Google</a> for $1.1 billion, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/primesense-investor-apple-leaker-2013-11">PrimeSense was bought by Apple</a> for $345 million, Soluto was <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/on-the-same-day-he-took-his-company-public-wix-ceo-also-sold-a-startup-for-130-million-2013-11">sold to a company called Asurion</a> for an estimated $130 million, and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/wix-plans-a-119-million-ipo-wednesday-2013-11">Wix had a successful $119 million IPO</a>,
Once again we compiled this list by asking people in the Israeli tech scene to name the buzzy, hot companies they are watching. Plus we threw in a few of our own. We used CrunchBase as our source for venture funding information.

The 20 Hottest Startups From Israel In 2014

Soluto, a cloud-based PC management company, <a href="https://www.soluto.com/reports">has issued a report</a> naming <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword>'s 13-inch MacBook Pro as the best Windows laptop.
"But Macs can't run Windows!" some of you might be shouting.
But they can. Using additional software such as Boot Camp or Parallels makes the Apple hardware and Microsoft software work in harmony. And it does this well enough to outrank the "native" Windows machines in the study.
(The next highest-rated computers were by Acer and Dell.)

Enigma aims to make sorting through public data a breeze. It pulls info from over 100,000 data sources and finds connections between them. Think SEC filings, state and federal records, lists of frozen assets, and even CrunchBase. 
If you search "Google," for example, Enigma brings up a list of databases including granted patents, H-1B Visa applications, and SEC filings. If you click H-1B visa applications, you can see every application Google filed and drill it down to see only software engineers. From there, you can quickly see that the U.S. Department of Labor certified 471 of Google's applications for software engineers. 
Sure, the data is already out there, but it's not easily accessible. The founders also maintain that it's hard to see the connections between those sources of public data. 
Enigma seems a lot like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/now-you-can-predict-the-future-just-like-nate-silver-2013-3">Recorded Future</a>, the data startup with $20 million of funding from investors like Google Ventures and the venture arm of the CIA, In-Q-Tel. Both companies are aiming to make it easier to sift through and find correlations between publicly available data. 
"At a very macro level, Enigma is working the same business problem: gaining insight for business decisions from public, open source information," RecordedFuture VP of Product Matt Kodama tells Business Insider. "Enigma and Recorded Future are working to harness different kinds of public information to that end, and that's a really critical distinction that will flow all the way through our respective products."
Already, Enigma has raised $1.45 million in seed funding, and has partnered with Harvard Business School, research firm Gerson Lehrman Group, S&amp;P Capital IQ, and the New York Times.
Past TechCrunch Disrupt NY winners include Soluto, Getaround, and UberConference. All three of those <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> have fared pretty well, but none are runaway successes, at least not yet.

<li>Soluto, the winner of Disrupt's inaugural event in New York in 2010, has raised $18 million in funding to continue offering support tools to small businesses for managing and fixing their PCs. <a href="http://pandodaily.com/2013/04/24/dont-give-up-on-pcs-yet-soluto-the-pc-management-startup-hasnt/">Just last month</a>, it introduced a new service to support small businesses with up to 10 PCs.</li>
<li>Getaround, a peer-to-peer car rental startup, has raised $19 million to date from investors including <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/yahoo">Yahoo</a> CEO Marissa Mayer, Collaborative Fund, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/menlo-ventures">Menlo Ventures</a>, and CrunchFund. It's still a relatively young company but is definitely a <a href="http://www.cnbc.com/id/100668331">rising star</a> in the "sharing economy."</li>
<li>UberConference, the winner of TechCrunch Disrupt 2012, has done pretty well. <a href="http://mashable.com/2013/01/22/uberconference-evernote/">Earlier this year</a>, it partnered with billion-dollar startup <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/evernote">Evernote</a> to share notes in conference calls.</li>
</ul>
Still, TechCrunch Disrupt, formerly known as TechCrunch 40 and TechCrunch 50, has produced some successful startups over the years:

<li>Redbeacon won the top prize at TechCrunch 50 in 2009, went on to raise $7.4 million, and then sold to Home Depot for an undisclosed amount.</li>
<li>GroupMe, a group messaging app that came to fruition during a hackathon at Disrupt NY 2010, got <a href="http://techcrunch.com/2011/08/23/what-skype-really-paid-for-groupme/">snapped up by Skype</a> for north of $43 million. </li>
