To be the nation’s heartthrob and one of the most successful actors of <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>, you either need to have a father or a Godfather; and <keyword id="383666" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Varun-Dhawan">Varun Dhawan</keyword> seems to have both. 
 
Other than that, he can also count good looks, a great physique, and some amazing dancing skills as his blessings, which is why he is the talk of the town today. 
 
Taking the nation by storm ever since his first movie Student Of The Year that released in the year 2010, Varun has established himself as one of the most promising actors in Bollywood, especially after his last release Badlapur in which he shed his chocolate-boy image and portrayed a 40-something man who wants nothing but revenge for his family. 
 
Even though Varun is the son of famous director David Dhawan who has given several hits to the Indian masses, Varun chose not to debut under his father, which is something unconventional. 
 Similarly, filmmaker <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword>, who until SOTY, had never directed newcomers in his successful career spanning more than a decade, chose to do something unconventional and launch not one but a whole bunch of new talent in the industry with this movie. 
 
Out of this bunch, one was Varun Dhawan, who nailed the role of the unhappily rich Rohan Nanda, fighting with his own family to achieve his dream of being a musician. 
 
Ever since SOTY, the relationship between Karan and Varun has been that of a mentor-protégé one, and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, their second collaboration in two years proved the same. 
 
Three days back, Karan had declared that Varun would also be the lead in the much-awaited <keyword id="1581560" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shuddhi">Shuddhi</keyword>. Even though Varun tweeted a thank you to actor Salman Khan who congratulated him for bagging the role, he was yet to publicly thank Karan for this role. 
 
Well, looks like he was waiting for the perfect time to thank Karan for being his mentor, and what day could have been better than Karan’s birthday? 
 
Karan Johar, who turns 43 today, got a song dedicated to him straight from the music album of Varun’s upcoming movie ABCD2, and the song is aptly titled Happy Birthday.

Protégé Varun Raps It Up For Guru Karan

We all know that Salman Khan has been through a rough patch in the recent past, with his trial and conviction in a hit-and-run case. Salman, who flew off to Kashmir to shoot for Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan soon after he got bail from the Bombay High Court, is back to Mumbai and to announce it to the world, he chose Shatrughan Sinha’s style. 
 
Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi, who made her debut opposite Salman in Dabangg, recently paid him back by making him debut opposite her. 
 
Where, you must be thinking. 
 The platform that Salman made his debut at is Dubsmash, the same app that made <keyword id="6354526" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Alia-Bhatt">Alia Bhatt</keyword> the talk of the town a few days back.

Role reversal! This time, Salman debuts opposite Sonakshi

New Delhi, May 22 () Gurgaon-based Arista Vault on Friday said it has developed a device that can disinfect items like mobile phones, currency notes and masks, and would make it available at less than half the price of imported devices. The product, named 'Shuddhi Box', uses ultraviolet-C rays, ozone and a mix of other technologies to disinfect surfaces and kill viruses like the novel coronavirus. Arista Vault co-founder and CEO Purvi Roy said the company has started producing around 1 lakh units per month and is in talks with other players and contract manufacturers to scale up the production to 5 lakh units a month from July. "UV-C in specific wavelength with the specific environment condition and unique dosage of time and intensity will sanitize any surface it touches. We have applied that unique dosage to Shuddhi Box and also used 360 degree method and electro optical with the help of medical experts and scientists," Roy said. The company, which has been incubated with support of the Software Technology Parks of India under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), has started offering the devices for about Rs 5,000 a unit. The price will drop to around Rs 2,000 once the production is scaled up. Currently, imported disinfectant devices sell for Rs 5,000-6,000. "We are coming up with several products on this technology. We have received demands for devices to disinfect laptops and tablets. All products will be in the form of an enclosure and any material that can fit into the enclosure will get disinfected," Roy said. The government holds 10 per cent stake in Arista Vault after the company received funding under a scheme to promote entrepreneurship in the electronics sector. "We worked under the guidelines of STPI, MeitY's Electropreneur Park to develop the Shuddhi Box with the help of Dr. Ashok Chowdhry, Associate Professor, Hepatologist, and Liver Transplant, ILBS Delhi. The technique was so far used in hospitals to sterilise surgical equipment. It can also sterilise banknotes," Roy said. According to researchers at CDC USA and Journal of Virological Methods, the strength of the sun is strong enough to kill viruses like the novel coronavirus. The research team found that continuous low doses of far ultraviolet-C light can kill airborne flu viruses without harming human tissues. "Shuddhi Box is based on the dose principal. Researchers say UV-C technology in the range of 253.7 nanometer wavelength is highly effective at killing bacteria and viruses by destroying the molecular bonds that hold their DNA together," Roy said. Arista Vault has started delivering the device to hospitals and government organisations and is also selling it through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). "We are also working with our distribution partners and channel partners to define their zones for all India distributorships and to spread it across the country so that it can reach masses at a better price," Roy said.
