Today two of the living legends of Indian cinema, <keyword id="1687" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dilip-Kumar">Dilip Kumar</keyword> and Amitabh Bachchan, were felicitated with Padma Vibhushan awards, the second highest civilian honour of India. 
 
Dilip Kumar, who is unwell these days, could not attend the award ceremony but Amitabh Bachchan was there and looked dapper in a black bandgala. Even his son Abhishek Bachchan and maternal grandson Agastya Nanda were wearing black bandgala, and came across as the close-knit family that they are. 
 
Also present from the Bachchan family were his wife Jaya Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and daughter Shweta Nanda with husband Nikhil Nanda. 
 
The megastar had tweeted about the ceremony a day before, after he attended the rehearsals.

One thing to be noted is that Amitabh Bachchan now holds all three Padma Awards, <keyword id="25105" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Padma-Shri">Padma Shri</keyword> (1984), <keyword id="100507" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Padma-Bhushan">Padma Bhushan</keyword> (2001), and now Padma Vibhushan. He is only the third Indian actor to have been conferred with all three Padma Awards, the first two being Akkineni Nageswara Rao and <keyword id="16975" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Zohra-Sehgal">Zohra Sehgal</keyword>.

Amitabh Bachchan now holds all three Padma Awards

<keyword id="6363133" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manohar-Parrikar">Manohar Parrikar</keyword> resigned to head to Goa as the next Chief Minister and <keyword id="6355261" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Finance-minister">Finance Minister</keyword> <keyword id="42575" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arun-Jaitley">Arun Jaitley</keyword> was told to take additional charge as the country's Defence Minister. 
 President <keyword id="6359124" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pranab-Mukherjee">Pranab Mukherjee</keyword> had accepted Mr Parrikar's resignation with immediate effect. "Further as advised by the Prime Minister, the President has directed that Shri Arun Jaitley, Cabinet Minister, shall be assigned the charge of the <keyword id="6369097" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Defence">Ministry of Defence</keyword>, in addition to his existing portfolios," a statement from Mr Mukherjee's office said. 
 Mr Jaitley had started out his innings in the Modi Government with charge for the two ministries on either side of Raisina Hill; the <keyword id="25455" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="finance">finance</keyword> ministry in North Block and the defence ministry across the road, in South Block. He relinquished the defence ministry in November 2014 when Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> brought in Manohar Parrikar from Goa to continue attempts to get the procurement process - halted during the previous UPA's tenure - back on track. 
 
But Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar - who had replaced Mr Parrikar in 2014 - was not a patch on his predecessor. The BJP not only ended up with just 13 seats in the 40-seat assembly in the just-concluded elections but Mr Parsekar could not win a seat for himself. And he had contested from two. 
 
 
Even as Defence Minister, Mr Parrikar has often been called Goa's super chief minister, a reflection of the IIT-Bombay graduate's abiding interest in state politics even after taking charge of the Defence Ministry. 
 
That the defence minister was headed home became crystal clear over the weekend when the BJP's former former ally, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party or MGP, offered support to the BJP on condition that Mr Parrikar heads the government. 
 
It is an option that Mr Parrikar had never really turned his back on. When he was asked about the possibility of his return to state politics after he voted in last month's election, Mr Parrikar's gave a cryptic response: "I have lost 4 kg in Delhi because of the food. I like Goan food. You can interpret this the way you want."

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Gets Defence Ministry After Manohar Parrikar Heads To Goa

<keyword id="3071705" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-CEO-Sundar-Pichai">Google CEO Sundar Pichai</keyword> is visiting India today and will delivering a keynote address at an event of Google India, outlining plans of the company in country. 
 
Pichai is not expected to make any big ticket announcements or launches in his maiden visit to India after assuming the top post at Google. 
 
He will be meeting Google executives, media, developers, entrepreneurs and marketers, and is likely to share vision on how technology can change people's lives for the better. 
 
The Google CEO will also meet resident Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. 
 
Pichai will meet students of Shri Ram College of Commerce for a chat session. 
 
Indian-origin Pichai was born in Chennai in 1972 and pursued his PhD at Stanford University after attending IIT-Kharagpur . 
 
His last visit to India was in September 2014 when Pichai launched Android One.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is visiting India!

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has some amazing news for <keyword id="2023759" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="startups-in-India">startups in India</keyword>. Pichai, while delivering a keynote address at the <keyword id="3173384" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="GoogleForIndia">#GoogleForIndia</keyword> event, said Google wanted to give India much more back to the country. 
 
“India is a key driver to Google’s growth. Google Capital to invest $20 million for Indian startups to support crowd computing,” said Pichai. 
 
Pichai wants to tap talent in India and plans to scale engineering and business, thereby revamp campuses in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Google also has plans to step up hiring in Bengaluru. 
 
“Google will ramp up engineering presence in Hyderabad to make products in India,” said the Google CEO. 
 
Speaking about the Android systems, Pichai said that by 2016, there will be more Android users in India as compared to the US. 
 
Pichai also spoke about enhancing wi-fi systems in India. 
 
“We will be rolling out 400 Google-powered public wi-fis by the end of 2016. Testing in Mumbai Railway station is underway currently. There are no plans to monetise now,” he added. 
 
Pichai will be meeting Google executives, media, developers, entrepreneurs and marketers during his stay in India.

CEO Sundar Pichai says Google will step up hiring, invest $20 million in Indian startups

<keyword id="3071705" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-CEO-Sundar-Pichai">Google CEO Sundar Pichai</keyword> wants to take internet to every nook and corner of India and announced that the rural internet program will move from pilot to full scale programme. 
 While delivering a keynote address during <keyword id="3173384" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="GoogleForIndia">#GoogleForIndia</keyword> event in New Delhi, Pichai said, “We want to get Indians connected to internet and for this, we will take three-pronged approach.” 
 
“We really want to invest more in India. This country gave us so much, we hope to give much more to India in the coming months. Google will help women from 3,00,000 villages across India get online in three years,” said Pichai. 
 
The Google CEO said they will start from giving access to people and provide them with information that they need. “Thirdly, we will give them the power to add their voice,” said Pichai. 
 
Pichai plans the development over three years. 
 
Meanwhile, Pichai pointed out that the India keyboard helps type in 11 languages.
