Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of <keyword id="6358821" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="shiv-sena" source="Orion">Shiv Sena</keyword> on Monday mentioned before the Supreme Court its plea seeking an urgent hearing on the petition challenging against Election Commission's move to allot the party name "Shiv Sena" and the symbol "Bow and <keyword id="6392652" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="arrow" source="Orion">Arrow</keyword>" to the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister <keyword id="193503" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="eknath-shinde" source="Orion">Eknath Shinde</keyword>. The Supreme Court on Monday asked the lawyer of Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of Shiv Sena to mention it tomorrow. A bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud observed that the plea seeking an urgent hearing on the petition was not mentioned in the list. The court said that the plea seeking an urgent hearing should have been on the mentioned list. The court asked the lawyer to come tomorrow and mention it. Senior Advocate Abhishek M Singhvi has mentioned the plea against EC's decision. The plea was mentioned by the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of Shiv Sena challenging against Election Commission's move to allot the party name "Shiv Sena" and the symbol "Bow and Arrow" to the rival faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Meanwhile, a Caveat application has been already filed by the Shinde group in Supreme Court over the matter. A Caveat application is filed by a litigant to ensure that no adverse order is passed against him or her without being heard. Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday allotted the party name "Shiv Sena" and the symbol "Bow and Arrow" to the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Notably, both factions of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde and <keyword id="53973" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="uddhav-thackeray" source="Orion">Uddhav Thackeray</keyword>) have been fighting for the bow and arrow symbol of the party since Shinde (present Maharashtra Chief Minister) revolted against <keyword id="41515" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="thackeray" source="Orion">Thackeray</keyword> last year. While the Shinde faction welcomed the decision of being recognized as the real Shiv Sena, the Uddhav Thackeray faction said they would move the Supreme Court. The Uddhav Thackeray faction accused the Election Commission of haste and said the decision shows "it works as BJP agent". The Commission observed in its order that the current constitution of the Shiv Sena party is undemocratic and has been "mutilated to undemocratically appoint people from a coterie as office bearers without any election at all". It said such party structures fail to inspire confidence. Calling the poll panel's decision a "murder of democracy", Uddhav Thackeray said he will approach the Supreme Court against the decision. Last month, both the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and former CM Uddhav Thackeray-led factions of the Shiv Sena submitted their written statements in support of their claims of control over the party name and symbol to the Election Commission. The ECI had frozen the bow and arrow symbol of the Shiv Sena and had allotted the 'Two Swords and Shield symbol' to the Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena and the 'flaming torch' (mashaal) election symbol was allotted to the Uddhav Thackeray faction for the by-poll in Andheri East assembly constituency in November last year. However, exuding confidence in winning the election with the 'torch' symbol, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday challenged Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde to contest the election with the "stolen bow and arrow", stating that the 'battle has begun'. He further said that the thieves were given the holy "bow and arrow" and that this is their test. "Thieves were given the holy 'bow and arrow', similarly the 'torch' (mashaal) can be taken away. I challenge them - if they are men, come in front of us even with the stolen 'bow and arrow', we will contest the election with the 'torch'. This is our test, the battle has begun," Thackeray said. Sena vs Sena: Plea in SC against EC's decision on "Bow and Arrow" dispute

The list of six Vidhan Sabha seats contained in the Lok Sabha constituency of Aurangabad includes Kannad, Aurangabad Central, Aurangabad West, Aurangabad East, Gangapur, and Vaijapur. Among them, Aurangabad West is earmarked for SC candidates. The others are general seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Chandrakant Bhaurao Khaire of the SHS had secured a winning margin of 162,000 votes than the runner-up candidate of INC Patil Nitin Suresh. During the upcoming assembly elections 2019, Sanjay Shirsat of the Shiv Sena party will take on Ramesh Gaikwad of the INC from the Aurangabad West seat. BJP is fielding Atul Sawe from the Aurangabad East constituency. From the Gangapur seat, the BJP is now fielding Prashant Bam. Shiv Sena is fielding Ramesh Bornavay from the Vaijapur assembly seat. As per the election commission’s announcement, all the constituencies of Maharashtra will face the polling in single phase on October 21, 2019. The votes will be counted and the results will be out on October 24, 2019. In 2014 general elections for the assembly, Kannad seat saw Jadhav Harshvardhan Raibhan winning over the NCP candidate Uday Singh Sardar Singh Rajput with a margin of 1561 votes. From the Gangapur constituency, Bamb Prashant Bansilal of the BJP party had won the runner up Ambadas Eknath Danve of SHS by securing 17278 votes more. In the Vaijapur constituency, NCP’s Bhausaheb Patil Chikatgaonkar had secured a margin of 4709 votes more than the SHS candidate R. M. Wani. The winning candidate from the Aurangabad Central seat was Sayed Imtiaz Jalil of the AIMIM who secured 19982 votes more than Pradeep Jaiswal of SHS. Sanjay Shirsat of the SHS party had won from the Aurangabad West (SC) constituency securing 6927 votes more than Madhukar Damodhar Sawant of the BJP. The winner from the Aurangabad East seat was Atul Moreshwar Save of the BJP who had bagged 4260 votes more than Dr. Abdul Gaffar Quadri of the AIMIM.

In the Dindori Lok Sabha constituency of Maharashtra, there are six assembly seats including Niphad, Dindori, Nandgaon, Kalvan, Chandvad, and Yewla. For the 2019 assembly elections, Shiv Sena is fielding Sangram Kupekar against the INC candidate Shirishkumar Vasantrao Kotwal. The Shiv Sena contestant for the Nandgaon constituency is Suhas Khande. From the Yewla seat, Sambhaji Pawar will represent the Shiv Sena – BJP alliance. Sambhaji Pawar faced the 2014 elections on behalf of the SHS and lost the chance last time. He recently joined the Shiv Sena party and has been given a seat now. As per the election commission’s notification, the general elections for all the constituencies of Maharashtra will happen in a single phase on October 21, 2019. The votes will be counted on October 24, 2019. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Dindori constituency voters elected the BJP candidate Chavan Harishchandra Deoram who got 247,619 more votes than Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar of NCP. In the 2014 assembly elections, Anil Sahebrao Kadam of the SHS won over the NCP candidate Bankar Diliprao Shankarrao with a margin of 3921 votes from the Niphad seat. From the Dindori (ST) constituency, NCP’s Zirwal Narhari Sitaram got 12633 seats more than SHS candidate Dhanraj Haribhau Mahale. The winner from the Kalwan (ST) seat was Gavit Jiva Pandu of CPM who got 4786 votes more than Arjun Tulshiram Pawar of NCP. From the Chandwad seat, BJP’s Dr. Aher Rahul Daultrao secured 11161 more votes than INC’s Kotwal Shirishkumar Vasantrao. The winner from the Yevla seat was Chhagan Bhujbal of the NCP who secured 46442 seats more than SHS candidate Pawar Sambhaji Sahebrao. The Nandgaon constituency winner was Pankaj Chhagan Bhujbal of the NCP who won over Suhas Dwarkanath Kande of SHS with a margin of 18436.

Mahesh (Dada) Kisan Landge will face the elections for the BJP from Bosari. Baburao Kashinath Pacharne is the BJP candidate for Shirur seat. The elections for the Maharashtra assembly constituencies will happen on October 21, 2019. The votes will be counted on October 24, 2019 and the results will be declared by evening on the same day. The Shirur constituency sitting MP is SHS candidate Adhalrao Shivaji Dattatrey. He got 301,814 votes more than the NCP candidate Nikam Devdatta Jaywant in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The last assembly elections for Maharashtra were held in 2014. During these elections, IND candidate Mahesh (Dada) Kisan Landge got 15316 votes more than the next candidate Ubale Sulabha Rambhau of SHS and won the elections from the Bhosari seat. The winner from the Shirur constituency was Pacharne Baburao Kashinath of BJP who got 10941 votes more than the runner up of NCP Ashok Ravsaheb Pawar. The Junnar seat winner was MNS contestant Sharaddada Bhimaji Sonavane who secured a winning margin of 16923 votes more than the next candidate of SHS Ashatai Dattatray Buchke. The Ambegaon electors chose Dilip Dattatray Walse Patil of NCP as their MLA by giving him 58154 votes more than the SHS candidate Arun Govindrao Gire. In the Khed Alandi seat, the winning margin of Gore Suresh of SHS against NCP candidate Dilip Dattatray Mohite was 58154 votes in the Khed Alandi seat. The winner from the Hadapsar constituency was BJP’s Tilekar Yogesh Kundalik who secured 30248 votes more than the SHS candidate Baber Mahadev Ramchandra.

He soon rose to become a leader and has contested his first-ever election this time around, fighting from the Worli constituency. The party has strong roots in the Maharashtrian community which lives around Dadar and Worli areas. In fact, the headquarters of the party is located in the same area. His father Uddhav Thackeray who heads the Sena party, recently said that he sees a Sena member becoming the chief minister of the state, one day. Currently, Sena is in alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party which fields the chief ministerial position. Many political pundits and public alike believed that the statement was made to coincide with Aditya’s political debut. But Aditya did not have a smooth ride. He was ridiculed for sporting a lungi, a South Indian attire, as his detractors cited his grandfather’s attacks on South Indian migrants a few decades back. Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena party, which is known for its parochial politics and majoritarian Hindutva ideology, has reportedly <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/shiv-sena-calls-for-ban-on-burqa-in-public-places-2031149">recommended </a>a similar ban in India, as an “emergency measure to ensure that security forces do not encounter difficulties in identifying anybody.” South Asia, largely, has been on an alert since the terror attacks in Sri Lanka that killed over 350 people. There is also a <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/bjp-pledges-to-legislate-bill-to-prohibit-and-eliminate-triple-talaq-nikah-halala-119040800772_1.html">campaign </a>against “nikah halala” -- the practice that forces some Muslim women to marry another man in order to be married again to their divorced husbands. BJP has also promised to introduce a uniform civil code that will exclude any existing privileges afforded by Indian law based on religion. This was an election promise in 2014 too, but the debate hasn’t progressed since.
