The leggy actress is not only famous for her acting skills but also for her dedication for fitness and training, which is giving everyone serious fitness goals. 
 
The secret behind her stunning body is yoga-which the actress has always vouched for. During her interviews too, Shetty has always banked on yoga for overall fitness, which is also the magic behind her flawless skin. 
 She has appeared several times with Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev and this year at <keyword id="3221306" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIFA-2016">IIFA 2016</keyword> too, she was advocating yoga to everyone, quite literally.

She is now the face of home decor brand, Stellar Homes USA and represents 13 brands in total. Shilpa was last seen on the silver screen in the 2007 film Apne but she never really left the limelight. She continued judging various TV reality shows, became an entrepreneur by starting her own fitness channel called The Shilpa Shetty app and invested in a start-up called Mamaearth. Shilpa has over 1.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, which covers fashion tips, her fitness regime and a cooking show. While on Instagram, she has gained more than 6 million followers in a short span of time. According to media reports, she has a net worth of $20 million. This year, her long sabbatical of 13 years will also come to an end as she will be seen in two movies -- Nikamma and Hungama 2. Brand Journey Shilpa was 16 and a part of the modelling world when an aerated drinks brand approached her. Today, she regrets falling for money and choosing shortcuts. Shilpa is now wary of the kind of brands she chooses to work with. She has walked out of the meeting rooms if she doesn’t resonate with the brand. “Earlier, I really didn't think about whether I suited the brand. It was only about whether I was getting paid enough to leverage my name. But in the last five years, there has been a change in my thought process. When people take you seriously as a brand or rather someone synonymous with health and fitness, you become more responsible. So if something doesn't resonate with my personality or something that I can't use at home for my family or me, I won't endorse it,” admits Shilpa. Before her big release lined up this year, Shilpa turned down a Rs 10 crore offer from an Ayurvedic Slimming Pill brand because she did not want youngsters, who look up to her, to fall for fad diets. “There's so many brands I have turned down, I can't sit down and list those,” she breaks into a chuckle. She says she would have bagged a lot more brands and made more money had she not been so fastidious. Pan Masala brands and Aerated Drinks are completely off her list and she says she wouldn’t consider endorsing them ‘for all the money in the world.’ Explaining her modus operandi of choosing deals, she says, “I'm very particular and there's a lot of due diligence that goes into the brands that I work with. And I really believe that there is no shortcut in life. If you were to tell people that by popping pills you will lose weight, I think people who actually work out the right way will start losing faith in what they're doing. And I just feel that though we stopped focusing on mental health, and we will be talking about prizes and losing weight, fitting into a certain size, I think mental health is equally important. And I can't endorse something that doesn't fall into line with my philosophy.” The secret behind her relevance in the industry It was during her post-pregnancy period that Shilpa was asked a lot of questions about her fitness regime on the internet. She joined social media to help people out and realised that the audiences’ love for her hasn’t changed. She used that to her advantage and started her own application. It is her penchant for fitness and strong social media following, that brands still find her relevant. “After all these years, I feel like I stayed relevant. Today, I'm doing two films after 13 years but people still know me, not only because of television, but also because I stand for propagating good health. I want to bring about an awareness and want to play the role of a catalyst. As actors, we are always looked up to, and we have the power of social media. I used that to start my own YouTube channel,” shares Shilpa. Now, Shilpa Shetty is in-between meetings, looking for a fundraiser for her application to expand her reach further. Experts Speak Ashutosh Harbola, CEO and Co-founder, Buzzoka thinks that Shilpa had a strong influence on the industry since she made her fortune in Big Brother; her brand image changed after that and IPL, he says, added a cherry on the cake. “Shilpa Shetty is an ever-blooming social media star and her constant touchpoint with her audience makes her relevant even when she doesn't have too much in her kitty. From a brand's perspective, it's the right fit. Since the social and digital-first audience is always on social media, their appetite for relevancy is much filled. Also, Shilpa has been testing a couple of other platforms too which is keeping her both busy and buzzed. We all saw her entry on TikTok and it's a perfect example of being in the news for the right reasons,” says he. “Post her marriage, she is amongst the rich kids of Instagram making the world drool on her cuteness and the lavish lifestyle,” adds Harbola. N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research, highlights how strong her social media currency is, which is one of the reasons why brands still love her. “It is not easy for an actor who has been out of an active acting career for over 10 years to continue to stay relevant. However, Shilpa Shetty has reinvented herself in many new avatars to do what she is good at. She is a fitness icon, TV reality show judge, fashionista, partner in a spa chain, has over 1.6 million subscribers on her Youtube food channel, 6 million followers on her Instagram, among other things. Guess that's more than enough to keep her relevant with new-age millennials and others,” says Chandramouli. Social Media and Brand Expert, Karthik Srinivasan thinks Shilpa’s relatability factor for millennials and Gen Y has worked in her favor. “Shilpa Shetty, I believe, appeals to and can be recognised by a whole lot of middle-aged and older women unlike an Ananya Panday or Alia Bhatt. That relatability is what perhaps works in her favor. Ditto for actors like Vidya Balan. To some extent, it's also a factor of a 40+ woman actor to continue to want attention, work and assignments. Some may choose to shun the limelight and live a more obscure life surrounded by people close to them, as a way to escape the excess attention of earlier times. Shilpa Shetty has been in the limelight long after her exiting the film industry, including her foray into owning teams and so on. So, modeling and films continue to help her position her brand,” explains Srinivasan. An inspiration for other actresses The Khans of Bollywood and actors like Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, still continue to be the Top 10 celebrities. Senior actresses, on the other hand, struggle to find film projects. As they vanish from the limelight after they get married, brands stop approaching them. Shilpa is unhesitant to agree that she found her calling much later in her career arc and feels women are finally stepping up to turn the tables. “I found my calling very late but I guess better late than never. Also, times are changing. You see actresses are far more daring today. It's also a more egalitarian world now. Women are given far more opportunities. I think women today are willing to take risks. And yes, it's a different world. And I think that's the only thing that's constant - change,” says Shilpa. Srinivasan also thinks the situation is changing, thanks to actresses like Shilpa Shetty and Vidya Balan and script writers that are breaking the age stereotypes. “I think as an industry, Bollywood (and the regional film industries, in particular) have moved definitely away from age-limits for women actors. While there's always (and still) a demand for young women actors, there are scripts being written for older ages as well, who do not fit the conventional stereotypes of a leading woman in films,” says Srinivasan. He adds, “From a branding point of view, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Tapsee Pannu featured in a Horlicks ad where she was specifically called out as being 30+. Or a Kangana Ranaut playing a mother of a boy in Panga. This scenario was unheard of a few years ago when only men had the freedom to be called 30+, 40+ and still get away with conventional roles in films. 40+ Shilpa Shetty is a variant of the 30+ Tapsee and Kangana.” Chandramouli, on the other hand, feels the onus also lies on actresses. “Brands take endorsements from 53-year-old male actors endorsing colas, and 77-year-old males endorsing everything. When it comes to women celebrities, there are occasions when you will see someone like Madhuri Dixit, who is above 50 years get endorsements. But many don't get as lucky as her. And this age-related aberration is one of the strangest as many times when choosing actors playing an older role, directors tend to cast younger actors. To correct this is the responsibility of female actors as also it is of brands and advertising agencies. Many times due to the paucity of opportunities, women celebrities above 40 tend to start focusing on other areas of their interests in work and personal life. In a highly competitive world, they must continue to stay relevant in their interest areas, stay connected with audiences, and find new interests which find newer fans. Since all endorsements are a commercial arrangement, the fee of endorsement also matters, for the potential endorsers must be willing to adjust fees in line with market demand. For the brands and agencies, it is important to have greater acceptance, to try the different, reink campaigns with such potential endorsers.” While many actresses have come and vanished with time, Shilpa Shetty Kundra has never left the showbiz, setting an example for other female actors in the industry.

The I-T department has developed a mobile app for paying taxes and tracking refunds and is considering issuing PANs on real time basis using Aadhaar biometric. 
 "Income Tax department is considering issuing of Permanent Account Number (PAN) on a real time basis using Aadhaar's e-KYC facility. The proposal is at an initial stage of consideration," Minister of State for <keyword id="25455" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="finance">Finance</keyword> <keyword id="258592" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Santosh-Kumar-Gangwar">Santosh Kumar Gangwar</keyword> said in a written reply to the <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> today. 
 
Besides, he said a mobile app "for paying taxes online has been developed. The mobile application has the functionality to pay taxes and track refunds".

 He said the PAN allotment system of the I-T department is integrated with the <keyword id="6376435" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-corporate-affairs">Ministry of Corporate Affairs</keyword>' portal for allotment at the time of incorporation of a company. 
 "A turn-around-time of 4 hours is prescribed for allotment of PAN after receipt of PAN application from <keyword id="6355225" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="MCA">MCA</keyword> portal to PAN service provider <keyword id="77072" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="NSDL">NSDL</keyword> eGov portal," he said.

 Besides, the tax department has started online PAN application facility using digital signature certification or Aadhaar based e-signature. "Also, online paperless PAN application facility using Aadhaar based e-KYC and e-signature is available through the websites of PAN services providers NSDL eGov and UTIITSL. In this facility, Aadhaar data is used for allotment of PAN and there is no need to upload scanned copies of any document," <keyword id="388942" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="gangwar">Gangwar</keyword> said. 
 
The aadhaar-based e-KYC facility would allow individuals or entities wanting to apply for PAN to verify details such as date of birth or address by way of biometric identification using thumb impressions.

So far, more than 111 crore Aadhar numbers have been issued. The unique identification number is being used for getting a new SIM card, for opening bank accounts, transfer of subsidies and also for biometric-based digital payments under Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. 
 
As per the government estimate, every year 2.5 crore people across the country apply for PAN cards. 
 
There are more than 25 crore PAN card holders in the country.

Tax dept app to track refunds; plans issuing PAN in real time

Amazon India on Friday announced that its smart assistant Alexa that completed one year of its existence is now available on both Android and iOS smartphones in the country. The customers can now interact with Alexa in Hindi using the Alexa app on their mobile devices. "In an effort to make Alexa in Hindi more useful for customers, we have added over 60 new features in the past year. These include improvements such as asking Alexa to whisper, adjust how fast or slow she speaks, and new experiences such as asking Alexa for health-related information, Hindi definitions of words in English, Audible Suno and so on," Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa, Amazon India, told IANS. Many users are also purchasing Amazon Echo devices for their parents as they are more comfortable to speak to the devices in Hindi. "We will continue to make Alexa interactions in Hindi even more seamless and conversational. It is still Day 1," Kumar added. Amazon has also added six new Alexa original songs and poems, along with 20 new stories in Hindi. Alexa now has a special message for all users in India. Just ask "Alexa, hamari dosti par poem sunao". Alexa can now understand 50 different ways to play a particular song in Hindi. The Alexa Speech Science team has used the latest advances in deep neural networks, multi-dialect training, and semi-supervised learning to reduce Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) errors by more than 40 per cent since the launch of Hindi last year. The company said that Alexa is now equipped with hundreds of new words from the Hindi vocabulary, and is also able to understand different ways in which customers can ask for the same information. "Users of the Alexa in Hindi have a unique taste in music. In addition to asking for Bollywood music, they are most likely to ask for devotional and spiritual songs. We also noticed increased requests for songs related to festive occasions such as Raksha Bandhan songs or Chhath Puja," Kumar told IANS. At the launch last year, Amazon had over 500 Hindi skills. Today, it has over 1,000 Hindi Skills, including Audible Suno, Ramayan Katha, Devotional Stories by Hungama, Shilpa Shetty Yoga, Jungle Safari, Kabir's Dohe, Rekhta, Hindi Jokes and so on. Alexa in Hindi can be experienced on the entire Amazon Echo range of smart speakers, Alexa built-in devices by other brands, the company said. New Delhi, June 21 (IANSlife) Yoga is the new old, and it's here to stay. From traditional yogis to the modern ones, yoga practitioners speak highly of its benefits. From physical to mental and even spiritual, the ancient practice has had a deep impact on many celebrity fitness trainers and enthusiasts, including Bollywood actors Malaika Arora and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. On International Yoga Day 2020, IANSlife spoke to many celebrity yoga enthusiasts on the transformational power of yoga. Here's what we learnt. Malaika Arora, actor and co-founder of Diva Yoga "There are a lot of times when life puts you down in a way that you feel it's difficult to hold your head above the water. I turned to yoga in a similar phase like that where I needed that bit of calm and direction in my life. Some people turn to meditation, others to writing or singing. Everybody has a different outlet, for me I found that in yoga. It really helped me at a very precarious stage in my life and I'm extremely grateful. "It has helped me manage my stress and gives me a certain level of spiritual peace. It helps to take a break from the chaos of our lives and more importantly from the chaos in our minds. Several platforms like Disney+Hotstar and the SARVA App have a number of specific asanas specially to uplift depressed moods, fight fatigue, and bring a state of calmness in an entirety, hence I'm a strong advocate for yoga." Sunaina Rekhi, celebrity yoga teacher and global icon in health and lifestyle "I feel a lot have confused Yoga to be just about the physical asanas, but it's more than that. It's about working with the mind which controls our body, our thoughts, and overall our mental health. Handling a lot of things at once or facing major setbacks in life can bog us down, sometimes we don't even realize the point of trigger for a depressed or anxious mood. Meditation and practicing different forms of yoga can be extremely beneficial to keep those thoughts and feelings in check." Mickey Mehta, health, well-being and fitness guru "Next month, I complete 50 years of exercising, 38 years in the profession and in August I will be completely 58. Yoga brings you at the shoonyam quotient of bliss. Yoga is that eternal kiss. Let yoga get maximized, mankind get optimized, this Universe get Mickeymized!" Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan "Yoga is one of my most preferred forms of exercise - as it has a positive impact on the body as well as the mind. To complement my yoga routine, I also follow a healthy diet and ensure eating a handful of almonds every day. Almonds are considered as Sattvic foods, and are a source of 15 key nutrients like protein, Vitamin E, magnesium etc. Additionally, almonds provide energy and according to Ayurveda, they also help in toning all body tissues." Fitness enthusiast and Supermodel Milind Soman "I am a firm believer in the power of Yoga, and make it a part of my activity. But I also believe it's equally important to practice conscious and healthy eating to reap the best benefits of your exercise. I prefer snacking on healthier foods like almonds, instead of unwholesome or fried snacks. Almonds are light and easy to carry, making them a great snack to consume in between meals." Actress Kirti Kulhari "Yoga has been a major part of my life for the last 15 years and like a lot of us , I was introduced to it through Baba Ramdev ji. I absolutely love the nature of it, owing to the fact that's it's holistic in nature. It brings together spiritual, physical, mental and emotional well-being and balance, and this for me is the true essence of " Being healthy ". And we all know how important this original idea of "health" is in today's times. Yoga's calming and balancing effects are immediate and of course it's regular and consistent practice brings about permanent changes of the highest quality..I couldn't recommend it enough..And I feel that this introduction of "International yoga day" is a brilliant initiative and coming from the land where Yoga comes from, we must not only be very proud but truly make it a very important part of our lives. Rest, one who does Yoga knows, that it's benefits are to be experienced and not so easily described in words. Actress Yuvika Chaudhary "I've just started practicing Yoga and it's a new thing for me. I've been hearing a lot from people that Yoga se hi hoga. Its slow but even if I meditate for five minutes, its relaxing and I really want to go ahead and excel and completely pursue Yoga as I've been wanting to do so for the longest time. I started off with meditation and Surya Namaskar and it has really helped me, especially cope with the lockdown and the circumstances around us. With so much negativity happening around us, I have finally accepted Yoga, although not completely but it's a slow and steady process. My father and grandfather have been practicing Yoga for years but I've never gotten into it. Yoga has been catching on a lot recently but it has been practiced for years in my family. My dad has always told me to practice Yoga and I've always took it for granted but now I really value it." Actress Rasika Dugal "One of my yoga teachers said to me that yoga is as much about how the practice makes you feel when you are on the mat as when you are off the mat. Yoga has taught me how to be gentle with myself and that every small effort counts. It's one of those things that you keep doing calmly and persistently without the pressure of achieving anything and your body surprises you. I also love the detail of it - how one tiny change in the way you execute an aasana can transform the experience and effect of that aasana entirely." Actress Sonnalli Seygall "For me yoga tops the list when it comes to any sort of workout, because it's a complete body and mind workout. I have been practising since my childhood in Kolkata and that time yoga was not even so popular as it is now! Infact I feel sad when I see that yoga has become more popular now in India after the west made it famous with likes of Madonna doing it. We as Indians have such a beautiful, beneficial and old discipline passed down to us, I feel we should definitely incorporate it in our lifestyle. For me personally, yoga is my life! It not only keeps me fit physically and in great shape but also makes me emotionally strong and mentally fit. Especially now with this pandemic , I recommend certain pranayamas and asanas to everyone as it helps you make your lungs stronger and boosts your immunity!" Actress Elli Avram "Yoga is extremely important for your health, it helps you find your inner strength and inner peace. Yoga really calms you down and it helps you to stay balanced. According to me, that is what life is all about. It's about balance. Yoga isn't actually about weight loss, it's basically about teaching you to find your inner strength and heal yourself. Every posture in yoga has a reason, it's for a certain organ in your body, or it's for your blood or your cells, yoga heals you from the inside. Yoga is actually medication, that's how powerful it is and this is something that we all need to understand more. I have never practiced yoga in my life for weight loss, I practiced because I was because I was craving that inner strength." How yoga transformed these celebrity yogis

Anant Ambani’s epic weight loss is astonishing and reads like a story out of a before-and-after weight loss advertisement. 
 
But it was not as simple as it sounds. From weighing 208 kilos to 100 kilos now, a staggering loss of 108 kilos and that too within 18 months, reveals the amount of hardwork and dedication a person has put in to get back into shape. 
 
For Anant, the journey wasn’t easy, as coupled with bad eating habits, medical issues, he had to make some serious sacrifices, but for good, of course. 
 His trainer <keyword id="943140" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinod-Channa">Vinod Channa</keyword> is to be applauded for the astounding weight loss. Channa, who is a celebrity fitness trainer and has trained John Abraham, Shilpa Shetty, among other Bollywood stars, says Anant has everything a person needs to achieve his/her goal. 
 
“Anant Ambani’s body transformation was a team work. This is not only done by me but it was effort of Anant and Dr. Andre Chimone as well. In my 22 years of career, I have never seen a person with so much dedication,” said Channa. 
 
So, what was the Anant’s schedule like, including his fitness training and diet? Anant focused on yoga, cardio, strength or functional training. 
 
“During the first phase, we focused on his nutrition which included protein, low carbs, fibres, etc. We started walking from 30 minutes to two hours, depending on his capacity. For resistance training, we added supporting equipments like leg press, chest press. Initially, the workouts were low on intensity as he was unable to do high sets, high reps due to his medical issue and body balancing problems,” said Channa. 
 
Speaking about the diet, Channa had put Anant on a strict diet, consuming only 1200 calories in a day. 
 
“His diet includes lots of vegetables, sprouts, cottage cheese, lentils, pulses and half teaspoon of ghee. This was the only diet he had stick to. His calorie consumption in a day was 1200 -1400 calories,” the trainer said. 
 
Well, we all have our weak moments and Anant is also a human after all. When asked about his weak moments and if he thought of giving up, Channa said ,“Sometimes he used to expect that he needs to lose certain gram of weight everyday, which is not possible every time. His lifestyle, like late nights and hormonal changes and lot of other issues made him gain 200-300 grams due to which he felt de-motivated at times. He would be very tensed about his workout and diet routine. He wanted a diet plan that would make him lose weight everyday, which is impossible,” said Channa. 
 
But, we all know he did not give in and Anant displayed to the world his slim avatar. 
 
“Anant was aware what he needs to do and where he needs to reach. He was dedicated and strict with his diet which is very difficult for an individual who has a past of over eating and junk food,” said Channa. 
 
Channa advised Anant to be positive and eat right at the right time. 
 
“I also used to give him break diets so that he felt motivated for regular workouts also. Workout sessions, with time, became fun and enjoyable for him,” said Channa.
