The pleas came up for hearing on Wednesday before a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan. The court issued notice to the <keyword id="19895344" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Enforcement-Directorate" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Enforcement Directorate" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Enforcement Directorate">Enforcement Directorate</keyword> (ED) and posted the matter for hearing on Thursday. Their petitions challenge ED notices dated September 27 issued to Shetty and Kundra directing them to evict their residential premises here and a farmhouse in Pune within ten days in connection with a money-laundering case linked to an alleged <keyword id="23486542" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bitcoin-fraud" source="keywords">Bitcoin fraud</keyword>. The couple's advocate Prashant Patil said that Shetty and Kundra received the <keyword id="20675198" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="eviction-notices" source="keywords">eviction notices</keyword> only on October 3. He termed the notices arbitrary and illegal and sought them to be quashed. According to the pleas, there is no grave urgency for the petitioners to vacate their premises and that the issuance of such eviction notices was uncalled for. "The petitioners are also seeking relief on humanitarian grounds as the premise in question is their residential premise in which they have been staying with their family of six members for almost two decades," the petitions said. The pleas also sought HC to stay the effect of the eviction notices. As per the pleas, the ED had in 2018 lodged a complaint against one <keyword id="21346793" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amit-bhardwaj" source="keywords">Amit Bhardwaj</keyword> and others for an alleged Bitcoin fraud and on charges of <keyword id="19899231" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="money-laundering" source="keywords">money laundering</keyword>. Both Shetty and her husband have not been named as accused in the case. The ED, during its probe, had summoned Kundra for questioning on several occasions. Kundra had appeared before the agency after each summons, the pleas said. In April 2024, Shetty and Kundra received a notice based on an order passed by the ED provisionally attaching their assets including their residential premise in Juhu that had been purchased by Kundra's father in 2009. Both Shetty and Kundra submitted their response to the notice. "However, in contravention to the provisions of law, the adjudicating authority confirmed the provisional attachment order on September 18, 2024. This order clearly states that the attachment is confirmed only till the conclusion of trial and is subject to its outcome," the pleas said. "The petitioners (Shetty and Kundra) on October 3 received two notices dated September 27, 2024, directing them to vacate their residential premises and the farmhouse," the petitions said. The petitions said no eviction order/notice can be issued prior to conviction. The pleas added that their residential premise has no connection with the scheduled offence or any proceeds of crime. The petitions further claimed that Kundra had absolutely no connection with the alleged fraud.

Speaking to IANS, Raj opened up on the toll it took on him while shooting the movie, the controversy and his acting debut. He said: "I had to relive it again and somewhere I wanted to relive it, because I wanted a closure on this, and I was not getting a closure. When I came out, I was disturbed, anxious, I wasn't feeling good about anything." "I was going to write a book and wanted the world to hear what I went through, and director Shahnawaz Ali sir thought that better than hearing what you went through, people should see what you went through. Visually it's always better. It's like Instagram versus Twitter. People prefer Instagram because photos and videos sell better I guess," he said. He further shared: "And when we made this film, I thought somewhere this chapter will close. It's not redemption yet until the clean chit comes, but somewhere I feel that with the story coming out, which is not just my story and everyone around me, maybe some good will come out of it, some help will come out of it. I don't know what will happen, but there's a lot that can happen." How did he adapted the controversy on the screen? Raj said: "We don't talk about the controversy. We speak about the time inside Arthur Road jail. From the time I entered the red gate to the time I left -63 days inside, the survival, how we managed in the toughest of circumstances in one of the most crowded jails in the world. That's the story." "We didn't touch upon the case at all, because the matter is subjudice and it is still in court. There is a legal battle going on. So there is nothing controversial around the case, but there are a lot of interesting, engaging, borderline controversial things that happened inside the jail," he said. Talking about his acting debut, Raj said: "I was happy producing behind the camera. I think it is Shahnawaz sir's conviction. He felt the true story should be told by the person who actually went through it. He said, 'you have gone through it Raj, you tell the story your way. Acting I will take out of you. It's you, you don't have to do makeup, or act like someone, it's just going to be about you.'" "I think it is the first time ever a true story is being told by the person with whom it has actually happened. For me I found that interesting. I love challenges, I have been through enough challenges in my life," he said. Raj added: "I tell people, forget the case for a minute, put the case aside, go watch it as a piece of content, you will fall in love with the film, it's so beautiful. The aim is now not only to go deeper into the country but also start conversations around important issues related to pregnancy. We recently spoke to Joy Chatterjee, General Manager, Sales &amp; Marketing, Mankind Pharma who told us their strategy to grow the brand so far, its marketing game plan and how it aims to expand its presence in different markets by going deeper into the country and by starting conversations around sensitive topics around pregnancy to sensitize and educate people. Excerpts: Q) What has helped Prega News capture the maximum market share in the category? Prega News is a <a name="_GoBack"></a>rapid detection kit that gives accurate results in 5 minutes and at the same time is convenient to use. The best part of the product is that a women can test urine samples anytime of the day. These factors are the foundational core of the product. Over the years, we have built the credibility of the product brand regarding its accuracy and convenience. This has benefited us, and whenever expecting mothers buy Prega News, they do it because there is an assurance that it will give truthful results. With this approach, we focused extensively on ATL and BTL activities. In the beginning, our objective was to spread awareness among the target audience, and focus on the distribution and supply chain so people easily get the product. Also, we hold the market share by 80%. The only way left for a brand to grow is by expanding the market itself and, thus, getting more and more women to use the product confidently. Q) The current penetration of the category is 17% which Prega News aims increase in the next five years. What will be your strategy to make this target a reality? We are building awareness in rural areas, focusing on social messaging with the intent of bringing positive change in society. We have launched several campaigns on different issues that need to change. We drive a strong presence in the urban market. It has become a go-to product amongst the target audience. Through our campaigns, we have spoken on issues surrounding soon-to-be mothers – workplace bias towards pregnant women or new moms, physical issues faced by expectant mothers, gender discrimination, and many more. Last year, we completed 10 years in the Indian market and launched a digital campaign, #PregaMoment. The product has been growing in healthy double digits annually. We witnessed a steep spike of over 20% in its demand during the COVID lockdown. It’s the trust factor that gives us the edge over others. Q) How has your marketing strategy helped you stand out? What role did popular faces like Kareena Kapoor and Anushka Sharma play in building brand Prega News? In the preliminary days, we used to release ads in newspapers and magazines to target women because that time pregnancy detection card was not available very easily. We launched this product in the OTC category to make it easily available. Q) How are you going deeper into the country? What are your expansion plans? Our expansion strategy is to reach every market in the country. We have realised that if we need to make women aware of pregnancy detection cards, we will need to associate with local people, NGO’s, Asha workers and others where we can talk to women about different things surrounding a pregnancy. To fulfil the same, we’re focusing on our distribution channels. The markets are further segmented as per the supply channels ranging from drugstores, pharmacies, online retail, supermarkets/hypermarkets, and Fertility and Gynaecology Clinics. In the last year, we have received a great response from the West Bengal market. Our focus is now on strengthening our reach in different states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, amongst others. We will extensively focus on rural areas like Mirzapur, Unnao and Kannauj, to name a few. Q) Are most of your consumers in larger cities or do you see a demand in Tier II &amp; Tier III cities too? Brand awareness is pretty high among urban populations. However, we are witnessing a positive trend in Tier II and Tier III cities too. People are becoming aware of the product and have started considering buying the pregnancy detection card but there is still some hesitancy around using the product among some people. We’re building awareness through many initiatives, so more and more women open up to using the product. Q) Looking ahead, what will your marketing strategy look like? We are quite prominent on TV, Digital, and OOH. We focus on a 360 degree marketing channel. From a reach perspective- there is no active brand on TV and our SOV is almost 95%. Television has helped us in reaching the masses. We are doing branded content, and focusing on digital mediums as well, be it by roping in mom influencers or creating a dialogue among the TG. Regional campaigns have been our strength and have helped us establish a connection with consumers by interacting with them in their language. In 2019, we ventured into the southern market and roped in celebrities like Kareena Kapoor and <keyword id="13060" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="priyamani" source="Orion">Priyamani</keyword> simultaneously to capture both the northern and southern markets. Also, this year we have roped in Kajal Agarwal as the face of the South market. In the future too, we will keep this momentum going. There are new campaigns in the pipeline, which will go live at the right time. Q) Apart from TVCs, how have you been educating/sensitizing people about the complications around pregnancy, or infertility (since this was a topic you touched on in your last campaign)? Yes, we want to sensitize people on the pregnancy-related issues. In India, there is a stereotypical mindset when it comes to adopting a child or opting for IVF or surrogacy. There is a need to create a dialogue on breaking stereotypes around infertility issues, as this is a common issue prevalent among couples nowadays. Around 10-15% of all married couples face a problem in conceiving a child today. With changing times, we need to become more progressive and inclusive, to be able to bring about a positive cultural change. Hence, this is the first step towards the change. Going further, we also have plans to rope in gynaecologists who can impart knowledge on the importance of family-planning, the use of contraceptives and pregnancy detection cards and the importance of health and nutrition during pregnancy. Our objective is to initiate a healthy conversation around important issues in society.

<ul><li><keyword id="99676" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shilpa-Shetty-Kundra">Shilpa Shetty Kundra</keyword>, who has been missing from the big screen for the past 13 years has become the face of yet another brand. </li><li>She has 13 brands in her kitty from varied categories like Food &amp; Beverages, Telecom, Skincare, FMCG, Chocolates, and more. </li><li>As Shilpa signs another brand, we try to decode what still makes the actor relevant and how she has become an example of breaking age-disparity in the industry. </li></ul>Shilpa Shetty Kundra, the 43-year-old Bollywood actress, has bagged yet another brand in her kitty. She is now the face of home decor brand, Stellar Homes USA and represents 13 brands in total. Shilpa was last seen on the silver screen in the 2007 film Apne but she never really left the limelight. She continued judging various TV reality shows, became an entrepreneur by starting her own fitness channel called The Shilpa Shetty app and invested in a start-up called Mamaearth. Shilpa has over 1.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, which covers fashion tips, her fitness regime and a cooking show. While on Instagram, she has gained more than 6 million followers in a short span of time. According to media reports, she has a net worth of $20 million. This year, her long sabbatical of 13 years will also come to an end as she will be seen in two movies -- Nikamma and Hungama 2. Brand Journey Shilpa was 16 and a part of the modelling world when an aerated drinks brand approached her. Today, she regrets falling for money and choosing shortcuts. Shilpa is now wary of the kind of brands she chooses to work with. She has walked out of the meeting rooms if she doesn’t resonate with the brand. “Earlier, I really didn't think about whether I suited the brand. It was only about whether I was getting paid enough to leverage my name. But in the last five years, there has been a change in my thought process. When people take you seriously as a brand or rather someone synonymous with health and fitness, you become more responsible. So if something doesn't resonate with my personality or something that I can't use at home for my family or me, I won't endorse it,” admits Shilpa. Before her big release lined up this year, Shilpa turned down a Rs 10 crore offer from an Ayurvedic Slimming Pill brand because she did not want youngsters, who look up to her, to fall for fad diets. “There's so many brands I have turned down, I can't sit down and list those,” she breaks into a chuckle. She says she would have bagged a lot more brands and made more money had she not been so fastidious. Pan Masala brands and Aerated Drinks are completely off her list and she says she wouldn’t consider endorsing them ‘for all the money in the world.’ Explaining her modus operandi of choosing deals, she says, “I'm very particular and there's a lot of due diligence that goes into the brands that I work with. And I really believe that there is no shortcut in life. If you were to tell people that by popping pills you will lose weight, I think people who actually work out the right way will start losing faith in what they're doing. And I just feel that though we stopped focusing on mental health, and we will be talking about prizes and losing weight, fitting into a certain size, I think mental health is equally important. And I can't endorse something that doesn't fall into line with my philosophy.” The secret behind her relevance in the industry It was during her post-pregnancy period that Shilpa was asked a lot of questions about her fitness regime on the internet. She joined social media to help people out and realised that the audiences’ love for her hasn’t changed. She used that to her advantage and started her own application. It is her penchant for fitness and strong social media following, that brands still find her relevant. “After all these years, I feel like I stayed relevant. Today, I'm doing two films after 13 years but people still know me, not only because of television, but also because I stand for propagating good health. I want to bring about an awareness and want to play the role of a catalyst. As actors, we are always looked up to, and we have the power of social media. I used that to start my own YouTube channel,” shares Shilpa. Now, Shilpa Shetty is in-between meetings, looking for a fundraiser for her application to expand her reach further. Experts Speak Ashutosh Harbola, CEO and Co-founder, Buzzoka thinks that Shilpa had a strong influence on the industry since she made her fortune in Big Brother; her brand image changed after that and IPL, he says, added a cherry on the cake. “Shilpa Shetty is an ever-blooming social media star and her constant touchpoint with her audience makes her relevant even when she doesn't have too much in her kitty. From a brand's perspective, it's the right fit. Since the social and digital-first audience is always on social media, their appetite for relevancy is much filled. Also, Shilpa has been testing a couple of other platforms too which is keeping her both busy and buzzed. We all saw her entry on TikTok and it's a perfect example of being in the news for the right reasons,” says he. “Post her marriage, she is amongst the rich kids of Instagram making the world drool on her cuteness and the lavish lifestyle,” adds Harbola. N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research, highlights how strong her social media currency is, which is one of the reasons why brands still love her. “It is not easy for an actor who has been out of an active acting career for over 10 years to continue to stay relevant. However, Shilpa Shetty has reinvented herself in many new avatars to do what she is good at. She is a fitness icon, TV reality show judge, fashionista, partner in a spa chain, has over 1.6 million subscribers on her Youtube food channel, 6 million followers on her Instagram, among other things. Guess that's more than enough to keep her relevant with new-age millennials and others,” says Chandramouli. Social Media and Brand Expert, Karthik Srinivasan thinks Shilpa’s relatability factor for millennials and Gen Y has worked in her favor. “Shilpa Shetty, I believe, appeals to and can be recognised by a whole lot of middle-aged and older women unlike an Ananya Panday or Alia Bhatt. That relatability is what perhaps works in her favor. Ditto for actors like Vidya Balan. To some extent, it's also a factor of a 40+ woman actor to continue to want attention, work and assignments. Some may choose to shun the limelight and live a more obscure life surrounded by people close to them, as a way to escape the excess attention of earlier times. Shilpa Shetty has been in the limelight long after her exiting the film industry, including her foray into owning teams and so on. So, modeling and films continue to help her position her brand,” explains Srinivasan. An inspiration for other actresses The Khans of Bollywood and actors like Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, still continue to be the Top 10 celebrities. Senior actresses, on the other hand, struggle to find film projects. As they vanish from the limelight after they get married, brands stop approaching them. Shilpa is unhesitant to agree that she found her calling much later in her career arc and feels women are finally stepping up to turn the tables. “I found my calling very late but I guess better late than never. Also, times are changing. You see actresses are far more daring today. It's also a more egalitarian world now. Women are given far more opportunities. I think women today are willing to take risks. And yes, it's a different world. And I think that's the only thing that's constant - change,” says Shilpa. Srinivasan also thinks the situation is changing, thanks to actresses like Shilpa Shetty and Vidya Balan and script writers that are breaking the age stereotypes. “I think as an industry, Bollywood (and the regional film industries, in particular) have moved definitely away from age-limits for women actors. While there's always (and still) a demand for young women actors, there are scripts being written for older ages as well, who do not fit the conventional stereotypes of a leading woman in films,” says Srinivasan. He adds, “From a branding point of view, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Tapsee Pannu featured in a Horlicks ad where she was specifically called out as being 30+. Or a Kangana Ranaut playing a mother of a boy in Panga. This scenario was unheard of a few years ago when only men had the freedom to be called 30+, 40+ and still get away with conventional roles in films. 40+ Shilpa Shetty is a variant of the 30+ Tapsee and Kangana.” Chandramouli, on the other hand, feels the onus also lies on actresses. “Brands take endorsements from 53-year-old male actors endorsing colas, and 77-year-old males endorsing everything. When it comes to women celebrities, there are occasions when you will see someone like Madhuri Dixit, who is above 50 years get endorsements. But many don't get as lucky as her. And this age-related aberration is one of the strangest as many times when choosing actors playing an older role, directors tend to cast younger actors. To correct this is the responsibility of female actors as also it is of brands and advertising agencies. Many times due to the paucity of opportunities, women celebrities above 40 tend to start focusing on other areas of their interests in work and personal life. In a highly competitive world, they must continue to stay relevant in their interest areas, stay connected with audiences, and find new interests which find newer fans. Since all endorsements are a commercial arrangement, the fee of endorsement also matters, for the potential endorsers must be willing to adjust fees in line with market demand. For the brands and agencies, it is important to have greater acceptance, to try the different, reink campaigns with such potential endorsers.” While many actresses have come and vanished with time, Shilpa Shetty Kundra has never left the showbiz, setting an example for other female actors in the industry.
