The Tarun Mehta-led company has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The proposed IPO includes a fresh issue of shares worth ₹3,100 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) component of 2.2 crore shares by promoters and investors. <keyword id="20253467" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tarun-mehta" source="keywords">Tarun Mehta</keyword> and <keyword id="19993824" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="swapnil-jain" source="keywords">Swapnil Jain</keyword> will offload 10 lakh shares each. This will make Ather Energy the second electric two-wheeler maker in India to go public. Ather Energy is backed by Hero MotoCorp, which has a 37.2% stake in the EV maker. Hero MotoCorp will not sell its shares in the IPO. Apart from Hero MotoCorp, Flipkart co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal have also invested in Ather Energy. The EV maker will use the funds raised in the IPO to establish a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra and invest in research and development. The proposed manufacturing facility in Maharashtra will come up in Chattrapati Sambhaji Nagar district. The company currently has a manufacturing facility at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Ather Energy looks to raise ₹3,100 crore, files IPO papers with SEBI

New Delhi: Ethanol plants manufacturer Regreen-Excel <keyword id="23123526" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="epc-india-ltd" source="keywords">EPC India Ltd</keyword> has filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator <keyword id="35210" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="SEBI" source="Orion">Sebi</keyword> to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO). The company's initial share-sale comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth Rs 350 crore and an offer-for-sale (<keyword id="19951016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ofs" source="keywords">OFS</keyword>) of 1.14 crore equity shares by promoters, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). The company proposes to utilize the net proceeds from fresh issue for payment of debt, funding margin money requirements for the purpose of availing bank guarantees; and for general corporate purposes. Regreen-Excel EPCR is a technology-driven EPC company, engaged in designing, manufacturing and supplying ethanol plants. Over the years, the company has built end-to-end capabilities in setting up ethanol plants, across feedstocks such as molasses/ sugarcane syrup, grains or a combination thereof, which it to provide concept to commissioning solutions to their customers. Since the company's inception to July 15, 2024, it has executed 113 projects across various feedstocks, which consist of 53 molasses-based projects, 57 grains-based projects and three <keyword id="23123527" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="multi-feedstock" source="keywords">Multi Feedstock</keyword> projects. As of July 15, 2024, the company had an order book of 64 ongoing projects worth Rs 3,452 crore, which aggregate to over 10,000 kilo litres per day (<keyword id="23123525" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="klpd" source="keywords">KLPD</keyword>) of ethanol capacity. IIFL Securities and ICICI Securities are the book-running lead managers to the issue.

She revealed that a fill-in-the-blanks template form is in the works which will simplify the process of IPO filing for companies. As a result, the entire process can be fast-tracked as only the final approval will come from an officer. For young companies, this could mean that filing an IPO is not just quicker, but easier as well as there could be set templates that they will just have to fill in. The report quoted Buch saying, "The normal track (of processing of IPO applications) would be so fast that you won't need fast track." <h2>IPO process in India</h2>In India, the process of filing an <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">Initial Public Offering</keyword> (IPO) involves several steps. Firstly, the company hires an underwriter or investment bank to guide the process. These financial experts analyze the company's financial health and sign an underwriting agreement detailing the deal, the amount to be raised, and the securities being issued. Next, the company prepares a registration statement and a draft prospectus, known as the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), as mandated by the Companies Act. This document includes definitions, risk factors, use of proceeds, industry and business descriptions, management information, financial statements, and legal details. The RHP must be submitted to the registrar of companies three days before the public offering and must comply with SEBI regulations. Following this, the company applies to SEBI for IPO approval. SEBI then verifies the company's disclosures. If approved, the company announces the IPO date. Subsequently, the company applies to the stock exchange to list its shares. The pricing of the IPO can be done through a Fixed Price Offering or a Book Building Offering, where a price range is announced, and investors bid within this range. The booking period usually lasts three to five working days, during which investors can revise their bids. After bidding, the final price, or Cut-Off price, is determined. The company's <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> (<keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>) comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth Rs 1,284.50 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of shares valued Rs 1,315.50 crore by promoters and other shareholders, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). Proceeds from the fresh capital to the tune of Rs 387.44 crore will be used for setting up new processing centres with automation and new fulfilment centres, Rs 73.71 crore for computers and IT equipment, Rs 239.23 crore for enhancing technology, data science capabilities, and cloud infrastructure, and Rs 87.92 crore for payment of debt. Also, the remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes and potential acquisitions, according to the draft papers filed on Wednesday. The company may consider raising Rs 257 crore through a pre-IPO placement. If such placement is undertaken, the amount raised will be deducted from the total fresh issue size.
