The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Delhi+Metro+Rail+Corporation&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Delhi Metro Rail Corporation</a> (<keyword id="45312" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="DMRC">DMRC</keyword>) is going to give citizens of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Delhi-NCR&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Delhi-NCR</a> greenest metro line, which will also be the greenest in entire India. The DMRC is going to build 29.7 km <keyword id="6358143" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Noida-Metro">Noida Metro</keyword> line on <keyword id="70990" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Solar-power">solar power</keyword> within a year. Not only the metro line, solar power will be used to run all 21 stations along with its workplaces and train depot. 
 
Noida Metro will emerge as the most environment friendly Metro project in light of the fact that the entire system will be running on solar power. 
 <keyword id="252738" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Santosh-Yadav">Santosh Yadav</keyword>, the managing director of Noida Metro, said the target for Noida Metro will be generating an amount of 12MW of solar power everyday. In order to do so, solar panels on the rooftops of all stations, footbridges, its main office building, the depot and parking lot boundary walls will be installed. 
 
"We will also apply for a diamond rating for our buildings by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Metro's total power consumption can be reduced further with better engineering practices, sleek design, recycle and reuse,” Yadav told ET. 
 
Supplementary power connection will only be used as backup or when there will be a glitch. The corridor’s power consumption estimated by officials is less than 12 MW. . If there is a surplus, Metro will route it to the conventional power grid and claim a rebate on its power usage, cutting operational costs. 
 
"Each of the stations will be powered by its own green energy. Rooftops of stations will have solar panels and the buildings will fitted with LED bulbs. The two sub-stations that will supply power for trains running on the corridor will also support solar panels,” Yadav told ET. 
 
DMRC is building the corridor and is also recycling construction waste. "Wasted concrete is being used to make kerbstones and tiles, which will be used at stations. We are also using wasted iron for grilles and railings of stations. We are using fly ash in construction, preserving top soil. The water used in our train depot shall be 100% recycled. It will be a zero-discharge facility,” Yadav told ET. 
 Noida Metro Railway Corporation’s headquarters in Sector 29 is going to be the first building in the <keyword id="53426" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="NCR">NCR</keyword> to fully generate its own solar power. "We will generate about 30 kW electricity for the building,” Yadav said.

<keyword id="71427" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rashtriya-Swayamsevak-Sangh" source="Orion">Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh</keyword> chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed concerns over the <keyword id="1917477" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="population-imbalance" source="Orion">population imbalance</keyword> and said that India has suffered severe consequences of deteriorating population balance in history. He called for a <keyword id="968646" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="comprehensive-policy" source="Orion">comprehensive policy</keyword> to check population rise, and underlined the need for all sections of society to abide by it. Bhagwat said that the balance of population was also getting disturbed due to conversion and infiltration, "which is very worrying". Addressing RSS Swayamsevaks on the customary Vijayadashami celebration here on Wednesday at the sprawling Reshimbagh ground, Bhagwat said that due to population imbalance, many other countries of the world also broke up and separated from them, East Timor, South Sudan and Kosovo, were formed. Bhagwat demanded the government should bring a holistic control policy of population. "The population policy should be prepared after serious brainstorming and should be implemented on all. No one should be exempted from this overall policy," he said. Bhagwat also strongly advocated for women empowerment in the country, and said that men and women are equal in every aspect and respect, have equal potential and capabilities. Bhagwat pointed out that women, who are regarded as "jagat janani (mother of the universe)", but at home they are treated as "slaves". The empowerment of women should begin at home and they should be given their rightful place in the society, he said. Bhagwat underlined the importance of women's role in realizing the vision of India once again becoming a 'vishwa guru' (world leader). "If we want to build a vishwa guru Bharat then equal participation of women is also required," he said, and added that changes were also reflected in the society. The RSS chief was speaking on women empowerment in front of its chief guest, Padma Shri Santosh Yadav, an acclaimed mountaineer, who was invited for the Vijayadashami function, the first woman chief guest for such a programme in the 97-year-old history of RSS. He reminded that it was not the first time that a woman was invited in the RSS function, the veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Amrita Kaur and first Lok Sabha member from Nagpur Anusuabai Kale and others were also invited in the RSS programmes. Bhagwat said that India was fast recovering from the economic crisis due to Covid and and India's role during the Sri Lankan political crisis and also during the Ukraine war was laudable. "Our political weight has gone up in the world due to these two situations, Bhagwat asserted", he said. The RSS chief said the dialogue with the members of minority communities will continue and it has been going on for years. The violent incidents have been condemned even by the prominent Muslim leaders in the country. "We are in favour of living in peace and harmony," said Bhagwat. The results are expected to be declared on the same day by evening. During 2014 general elections for the Vidhan Sabha, BJP bagged 47 seats. The second highest score was reported by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) which could win from 19 seats. The congress which was ruling at that time could get only 15 seats. Two seats were won by the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won one seat each. There were also five independent candidates who won the elections from different constituencies. AAP could not get even a single seat during the said elections.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday signed a <keyword id="78814" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="memorandum-of-understanding">memorandum of understanding</keyword> (<keyword id="6368586" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="MoU">MoU</keyword>) with the <keyword id="44991" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad">Ghaziabad</keyword> Development Authority (GDA) for the 9.41 km long Metro expansion from <keyword id="185815" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dilshad-Garden">Dilshad Garden</keyword> in Delhi to Ghaziabad’s <keyword id="523007" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="new-bus-stand">New Bus Stand</keyword>. The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 1,770 crore. DMRC's director of business development, SD Sharma, and GDA vice-chairman, Santosh Yadav, signed the MoU in the presence of <keyword id="2347281" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-Metro-MD-Mangu-Singh">Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh</keyword> at the <keyword id="1381796" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad-Authority">Ghaziabad authority</keyword>'s headquarters. The stretch will have a total of seven stations – <keyword id="2347285" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shaheed-Nagar">Shaheed Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="2347286" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajbagh">Rajbagh</keyword>, <keyword id="63825" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajendra-Nagar">Rajendra Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="404738" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shyam-Park">Shyam Park</keyword>, <keyword id="6358206" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mohan-Nagar">Mohan Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="4414539" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Arthala">Arthala</keyword> and New Bus Stand. The corridor is expected to be completed by June 2017. 

	According to Metro officials, work will be expedited to commission the project ahead of schedule. Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh said, "Work on technical studies, including soil profiling and ensuring proper power supply for the project, will immediately start. The actual work on ground can be seen in the next three months.”
