<ul><li>The Union Minister of State for Culture &amp; Tourism (IC), <keyword id="2627479" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prahlad-Singh-Patel">Prahlad Singh Patel</keyword> on Monday, launched an E-Portal of Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) — ‘Digital Bharat Digital Sanskriti'. </li><li>It will enable digital classrooms that can impart <keyword id="1032457" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cultural-Education">cultural education</keyword>. </li><li>The idea is to help dropouts chase careers in cultural areas such as music, painting, theatre and martial arts.</li><li>The e-portal aims to explore unknown aspects of India’s rural and semi-urban culture. </li></ul>The Indian government is giving a digital push to cultural education across schools in the country. The Union Minister of State for Culture &amp; Tourism (IC) Prahlad Singh Patel launched an <a href="https://pib.gov.in/PressReleseDetail.aspx?PRID=1588630">E-Portal of Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT</a>) — ‘Digital Bharat Digital Sanskriti'. This enable digital classrooms to impart cultural education. It also launched a YouTube channel. The CCRT, along with Routes 2 Roots — an NGO promoting art, culture and heritage — is looking to launch a platform for dropout students. The idea is to help them chase careers in areas like music, painting, theatre and martial arts. “There is a need to identify institutions specializing in providing training in various art forms and encourage the children to join these institutions. In the coming three years, we can send children studying in X – XII standard for well planned tours of North-East,” the government press release said. The e-portal aims to explore unknown aspects of India's lesser-known places and their rural and semi-urban culture. In a bid to promote cross-cultural communication in India, the initiative also aims to encourage students to learn regional languages like Punjabis can learn Gujarati and vice-versa. Patel released a film ‘Rahas’ — Raaslila of Chhattisgarh. The CCRT also started to publish books from a series called ’Untold Tales of India's cities’. Now, dropouts can learn music, dance and other cultural arts — with government aid

Delhi boy <keyword id="3439623" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Deepanshu-Jindal">Deepanshu Jindal</keyword>, the topper of the prestigious <keyword id="1665948" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="IIT-JEE-Main">IIT-JEE Main</keyword> this year, says he wants to pursue higher education after graduation from IIT Delhi, and ultimately become an entrepreneur. 
 
"I want to pursue Computer Science Engineering from IIT Delhi. I am quite interested in Research and Development and would want to do entrepreneurship in R&amp;D," says Jindal. 
 
A student of SB Public School in the national capital, this lad took his<a href="http://www.pagalguy.com/articles/jee-main-2016-topper-deepanshu-jindal-chooses-iit-delhi-over-44532308"> IIT Coaching from Narayana IIT Academy</a>. 
 
You may be thinking he must have not taken his eyes of books, but Jindal says that's not been the case with him. He is a keen sports fan who plays cricket and football regularly to take the much-needed break from his hectic schedule. Apart from sports, Jindal also likes social networking and is quite active on Facebook, Google+ and WhatsApp. 
 He has secured 111 in Physics, 110 in Maths and 100 in chemistry in JEE Main, and 98.6% in Class 12 CBSE because of which his rank jumped from 20 to 1 after the normalisation process. Meanwhile, Pratyush Maini from Gurgaon has secured the second position, and <keyword id="1033212" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajesh-Bansal">Rajesh Bansal</keyword> of <keyword id="195874" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sanskriti-School">Sanskriti School</keyword> stood third. 
 
The rank List, uploaded at <a href="http://jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/Public/Home.aspx">http://jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/Public/Home.aspx</a> shows that boys have dominated the list of toppers. Of the top 1,000 positions, 853 have been secured by boys and 147 by girls. Ryali Gayathri from Telangana has emerged on the top among girls, securing the 11th rank. 
 The <keyword id="3439624" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="All-India-Rankings">All India Rankings</keyword> are based on their JEE Main score (60 per cent weightage) and Class 12 scores (40 per cent weightage). Admissions to BE and B Tech courses in engineering institutions like NITs, IIITs are made on the basis of these rankings. 
 
Meanwhile, in another significant move for admission to the IITs - for which scores in IIT (Advanced) exam is the basis, the first list of allocation of seats for IITs will be released on July 1. 
 
Among boards, CBSE students have done well, getting 12 of the top 20 ranks. States boards like Telangana (6 of the top 20 positions), Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra too find students among toppers. 
 Around 11.28 lakh students had appeared for the <keyword id="75235" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="IIT-JEE">IIT JEE</keyword> Main exam, officials said, adding, results were announced a week in advance as compared to last year.

IIT-JEE topper says he knows he wants to become an entrepreneur

Dipak Tatpuje 
 
With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Dipak Tatpuje, a senior lecturer at Satara Polytechnic, has pioneered technology in rural classrooms and trained over 150 rural teachers on how to use free online tools. 
 
Believing that technology can be a great equalizer, Tatpuje says that empowering rural students through technology “allows them not to spread their wings and walk further in life.” 
 
Balaji Jadhav 
 
Another rural teacher who supports technology is Balaji Jadhav. He developed a series of interactive, HTML-based online tests that are now used by over 500 teachers on a day-to-day basis. Balaji is no tech expert, but it was YouTube that helped him learn HTML. 
 After gaining expertise in HTML, Balaji launched a blog for fellow <keyword id="710486" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="educators">educators</keyword> in Maharashtra. Currently, he is playing role of an advisor for five state government departments and trains teachers in 36 school districts about how to use blogs for teaching. 
 
Sarvesh Srinivasan 
 
The next in the line is Sarvesh Srinivasan, director of Bengaluru’s Gifted Education and Research (GEAR) Foundation. He champions technology adoption for personalized learning. In order to help teachers recognise students’ strengths and tailor their teaching methods, Srinivasan ran a 10-month pilot program with Google Apps for Education for middle schools students. 
 
Sangeeta Gulati 
 The last one to champion the use of technology in classrooms is Sangeeta Gulati, the head of the mathematics department at New Delhi-based <keyword id="195874" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanskriti-School">Sanskriti School</keyword>. Her dedication towards education for more than a decade helped her receive the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching in 2011. She constantly encourages her students to be creative with technology. 
 
Sangeeta says that she finds herself “a stronger, more effective teacher who is connected with her students” using Google Apps for Education and Chromebooks.
