Krishnan, who started as an articled trainee at PwC India, has been working with the company for 29 years. In his latest position, Krishnan was Partner &amp; Leader - Deals. In 2006, he was made a Partner in the company and led the firm’s Transactions and Private Equity business. A graduate in Economics from the University of Delhi, Krishnan has also looked after sovereign wealth funds and stressed fund asset classes. “It is an honour to take on the Chairman’s role of this great organisation. As a purpose driven firm, we are constantly striving for opportunities to reinvent the future and help our clients create value for their stakeholders. Hamirpur (HP), May 9 () A team of health workers of Radha Krishnan Medical College, Hamirpur, which treated six COVID-19 patients, received a warm welcome by their colleagues on Saturday.The 20-member team was showered with flower petals when it reached the medical college.The COVID-19 patients which the team looked after at RCH, Bhota have fully recovered, officials said.Four of the patients were from Una and two from Hamirpur district. They returned home after recovery, the officials said.Anil Chauhan, principal of the medical college and Anil Verma, its medical superintendent were also present during the occasion.The team members, including its in-charge Sanjeev Kumar, thanked the entire hospital staff for the warm welcome and greetings. Hamirpur hospital team gets heroic welcome as COVID-19 patients recover

New Delhi, Dec 10 () CDC Group, the UK's development finance institution, on Tuesday said it has closed a USD 36 million (over Rs 255 crore) in equity investment in Ecom Express.
Warburg Pincus-backed Ecom Express is a tech-enabled Indian logistics company.
"In addition to network expansion and augmentation, CDC's equity injection enables Ecom Express to significantly accelerate job creation from about 32,000 employees to about 47,000 within the next 1-2 years," a statement said.
This will be complemented by a distinct focus on increasing the number of employed women in the workforce, bringing further diversity, it added.
The fund, as part of the initiatives, will work with Ecom Express to transit a proportion of its distribution fleet to electric vehicles and sponsor a road safety programme for its drivers and fleet operators, the statement said.
Srini Nagarajan, Managing Director and Head of Asia, CDC, said the company is "dedicated to responsibly investing our capital in India, with over USD 1.7 billion currently committed to local businesses".
"We have the same amount again to invest over the next few years and look forward to working with many more businesses that are as environmentally and socially conscious as Ecom Express," he added.
TA Krishnan, co-founder and CEO of Ecom Express, said the capital infusion will help the company further expand its delivery footprint in connecting towns and rural centres across the country.
"Besides expanding reach, the company plans to invest in technology, deploy advanced parcel sortation systems, strengthen network reliability and infrastructure, and finally, make development impact with job creation, environmentally responsible initiatives and gender diversity," he added.
Headquartered in Gurugram, Ecom Express was incorporated in 2012 by Krishnan, Manju Dhawan, K Satyanarayana and Sanjeev Saxena. It operates in over 2,400 towns across more than 25,000 PIN-codes in India. SR BAL

The tech enabled <keyword id="4331977" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Logistics-startup">logistics startup</keyword> plans to hire across roles and verticals including last-mile delivery, warehousing management, operations, information technology and data sciences. The news comes at a time when most of the companies have halted hirings due to the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This is as the company prepares to deal with the surge in demand for online shopping during the festive season. “During the last three months, due to the unprecedented covid-19 scenario, which affected every business worldwide, we too had put a temporary hiring freeze. However, with the situation easing now as well as the pent up customer demands induced by lockdown has pushed forward our hiring pace,” Saurabh Deep Singla, SVP and CHRO at the Ecom Express told Business Insider. Founded by T.A. Krishnan, Manju Dhawan, K. Satyanarayana and Sanjeev Saxena, and headquartered in Gurugram, Ecom Express is looking to hire people across locations including the metro cities and tier II cities like Patna, Indore, Bhopal and Kanpur. The salaries will differ depending on the role and position. The starting salary of a delivery associate would be nearly ₹ 2.4 lakh a year while for a data scientist, it can go as high as ₹30 lakh. “The salary packages can depend on a lot of factors, such as the posting location, cost of living and average market salary range for the roles in these cities — depending on the skill complexity,” said Singla. The eight-year old company says that the new hires would then account for almost one-fourth of the total employees. It started with nearly 311 employees in 2012. "As a provider of logistics services to the e-commerce industry, employees are paramount and a pivot to what we do. In these difficult times, we see an increase in the demand for online shopping across cities and we need to support the scale and size for doorstep deliveries. The hiring of new employees is driven by an unprecedented need to keep the supply chain running for the e-commerce industry and in ensuring safe and timely deliveries,” Singla added. The startup has investments from UK’s development finance company CDC Group, global equity firm Warburg Pincus and Peepul Capital — and claims to have reached more than 90% of the population including tier II, III cities.
