	Saina, who is in the country to compete in this week's Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold Tournament, said the honour has left her surprised. Interestingly, the 25-year-old had expressed her displeasure at being ignored for the award last year. 
 
 

	"It is a great honour and I want to thank the Ministry for giving me the award. I am very happy with the way the last year has gone, I have been performing well. I reached World No.1 last year and now I am World No.2. I am sure this award will give me more motivation to do well further this year," Saina said. 
 

	"It came as a complete surprise to me. I had no clue. I did not expect at all. There was no news of it at all. When I think that I am just 25 and I have received this award, it makes me feel great. But it is still a long way to go." 
 

	Saina was left disappointed after the Sports Ministry decided to reject her application for the award in January last year, citing norms. 
 

	The ministry had picked two-time Olympic-medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar for the honour last year. 
 

	Saina was bestowed the Khel Ratna and Padma Shri in 2010 and also received the Arjuna Award in 2009. 
 

	The 21-year-old Deepika, meanwhile, had also won the team silver along with Laxmirani Majhi and Rimil Buriuly in the World Championships.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Comes To India

After Iodex, Yonex, Bajaj Nomarks, India’s ace badminton player <keyword id="30618" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saina-Nehwal">Saina Nehwal</keyword> will now be seen endorsing products for Kellogg. 
 
World Number 2 in women’s singles, Nehwal, signed the two-year deal pegged at around Rs 1.5 crore, outpacing tennis star Sania Mirza and boxer Mary Kom. 
 A spokesperson of <keyword id="98896" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kellogg-India">Kellogg India</keyword> confirmed the deal with Nehwal but did not divulge any further details. 
 
"Kellogg is looking for a repositioning exercise with Saina... the advertising is likely to break next month," one of the persons familiar with the development told Economic Times. 
 
Nehwal has also endorsed Indian Overseas Bank and the Sahara group. 
 
National director of sports and live events at GroupM ESP, Vinit Karnik, told ET Saina is the highest paid woman sportsperson in India. 
“Sania Mirza's endorsement fee used to be the highest till about five years back. But Saina has been far more visible on the circuit, which is what brands look for,” he told the financial daily. 
 
However, few managers believe that gap between earnings of male and female sportstars still remains wide. 
 
Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni charges over Rs 10 crore for brand endorsement and Virat Kohli's fee is Rs 5-6 crore. 
But, talent management firm Kwan's promoter Anirban Das told ET, "It's a reflection of the popularity of the sport rather than a function of gender. The reach of cricket still hugely overshadows any other sport in India."

Incidentally, Kohli is just ahead of golfer Jordan Spieth. Djokovic is 23rd in the list, followed by Messi at 27th and 'Sprint King' <keyword id="28723" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Usain-Bolt">Usain Bolt</keyword> at 31. Notably another Indian in top-50 is tennis star <keyword id="487" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sania-Mirza">Sania Mirza</keyword> . 

	According to SportsPro, which does extensive research on business of sports, the criteria of ranking athletes from across the world is marketing potential over a three-year period from this summer. 
 

	The components they have been assessed are value for money, age, home market, charisma, willingness to be marketed and crossover appeal. 
 <keyword id="42857" type="SPORT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Formula-One">Formula One</keyword> world champion <keyword id="23008" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lewis-Hamilton">Lewis Hamilton</keyword> topped the rankings in 2014; Barcelona's Brazilian soccer star Neymar, in at No 8 this year, took the number one spot in 2012 and 2013; Olympic champion Bolt headed the list in 2011, while NBA star LeBron James was named as the world's most marketable athlete in the feature's inaugural year in 2010.

The Forbes '30 under 30 Asia' list includes 300 "young and driven entrepreneurs and game-changers" from countries including India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam and Australia who are contributing to their industries in a significant way. 
 In this list, one would find 56 Indians, with Kohli, Mirza and Nehwal along with 26-year old Bollywood actress <keyword id="89958" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shraddha-Kapoor">Shraddha Kapoor</keyword>. 
 
"At the top of India's crickculture is batting prince Kohli, who led India to clean sweep in their Twenty 20 series against Australia in January," Forbes said of Kohli. He was also named among India's highest earning celebrities in 2015, standing at USD 11.3 million. 
 
Talking of Mirza, Forbes said that she has been the "most successful female Indian tennis player ever" and one of the highest paid and highest profile athletes in the country. 
 
About Nehwal, Forbes described her as a "role model" and "Indian badminton queen". 
 
The list has a total of 10 categories, covering consumer technology, enterprise technology, arts, healthcare and science, media, social

Mumbai, May 11 () Over 80 artistes, including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Ekta Kapoor and Shreya Ghoshal have come together for the track "Guzar Jayega", which aims at spreading hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.The anthem, narrated by Bachchan, also features comedian Kapil Sharma, producer Ekta Kapoor, actors Raveena Tandon, Sunny Leone and singers Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan. "These are testing and difficult times, we all have come together to instill hope and courage through this song "Guzar Jayega", we are in this together and this too shall pass, stay home and stay safe," Leone said in a statement.Shreya said nothing encapsulates the current emotions like Bachchan's voiceover in the video, which says, "It's just time, it shall pass." "We will have a plethora of emotions to indulge in, and realise there's always a greater sunrise after the darkest of nights.
