The software-as-a-services (SaaS) platform, which solely focuses on the travel and hospitality segment, intends to raise ₹1,335 crore through fresh as well as offer for sale (OFS). The price band has been set at ₹405-₹425. The lot size has been fixed at 35 shares, meaning a retail investor will have to shell out ₹14,175 to buy the shares. RateGain’s grey market premium (GMP), premium at which investors are comfortable buying the shares before it gets listed on a stock exchange, was at ₹85 on December 6. RateGain is seeking a valuation of ₹4,537 crore (about $600 million) at the upper end of the price band. The stock brokerages, who have previously raised concerns of valuation of digital businesses like Paytm and Zomato, too seem to be comfortable with the valuation being accorded to RateGain. “While there is no listed peer available for a direct comparison to RateGain in the domestic market, its valuations at ~50% discount to unicorns like Zomato and Paytm give comfort on the valuation front. In the new era of internet and AI [artificial intelligence]-based software services, we believe the premium valuation of the company is likely to sustain,” Reliance Securities said in its latest report. A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a firm valued at or over a billion dollars. The brokerage has also recommended retail investors to subscribe to RateGain’s IPO as there is “high growth potential, unique business proposition with minimal competition and valuation comfort.” The company, however, still is under threat of COVID-19 as well as any situation that may disturb the global travel scenario. Adani even went on to emerge as India’s richest man by adding $7.67 billion to his net worth in a short span. While Mukesh Ambani reclaimed the top spot, the gap is once again narrowing. According to the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index, Gautam Adani’s net worth has now surged to $109 billion, just behind Mukesh Ambani who is valued at $114 billion, bringing down the gap to $5 billion. In the last year, Adani’s wealth has surged by $25 billion, while Ambani’s wealth has surged by $17.3 billion. Despite this surge, Adani’s wealth is yet to reach its peak of $119 billion. Adani’s new ventures will take on Mukesh Ambani’s JioMart and JioFinance, which is expected to soon begin offering payment services. For the financial year ended March 2023, SSKL reported a total revenue of ₹1,351 crore with a net profit of ₹97.6 crore. “Sai Silk (Kalamandir) is a leading apparel retail brand in India with a scalable model, which is well positioned to leverage growth in the ethnic and value-fashion apparel industry in India with a track record of growth, profitability, and unit economics with an efficient operating model,” said a research report by Anand Rathi. At the upper price band, the company was valued at P/E of 33x and market cap of ₹3,404 crore post issue of equity shares and return on net worth of 24.56%, said the research firm, which gave it a subscribe for long-term rating to the IPO.

The app will also help bring down the travelling cost for tourists, who have been complaining about exorbitant taxi fares in the coastal state, he said. It is to be noted that popular cab hailing applications such as Uber and Ola do not operate in Goa. "Tourists were complaining that travelling to Goa from Mumbai by flight is cheaper than travelling to a hotel in the coastal state in a taxi," the chief minister said. Khaunte said "Goa Taxi App" has been operational at the Manohar International Airport (MIA), Mopa since the last six months after its soft launch. More than 500 tourist taxi operators have already joined the app and are satisfied with its performance, he said. Operators affiliated with the app will get the benefits of various schemes, financial help for marriage and scholarships for their children. A proposed reduction of basic customs duty rates on goods other than agriculture and textiles from 21% to 13% is seen as another positive, while the relief in taxes is also expected to boost consumer spending by salaried consumers. Also, the finance minister said that more funds would be allocated towards scrapping old vehicles by the central government. Firstly, 91% of the cases are among those fully vaccinated but it is not severe. So much so that seven out of every ten infected with Omicron have shown no symptoms. Secondly, six of every 10 infected have foreign travel history in the near past. The development comes as the world is witnessing the forth surge in Covid-19 cases and the overall positivity rate is 6.1%. Third, the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan warned that omicron spreads much faster ⁠— number of cases doubling anywhere between 1.5 to 3 days ⁠— than the delta variant ⁠and urged the people to “not to lower their guard”. An earlier study by researchers at IIT Kanpur had <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/coronavirus/story/omicron-led-third-covid-wave-in-india-to-peak-in-feb-iit-kanpur-researchers-316718-2021-12-24">earlier warned</a> that the peak of the next wave of COVID-19 infections is likely to be February 2022.
