To deal with the current cash crisis and an approaching deadline assured by the Prime Minister after demonetization, there has been a 3 times increase in the printing of new notes. 
 "We have enhanced printing of new Rs 500 notes from 3.5 million pieces per day in mid-November to 10 million pieces per day now. We are printing 19 million pieces of currency notes of various denominations on a daily average of which 10 million pieces are of Rs 500 notes, while the remaining currency notes are of Rs 100, Rs 50 and Rs 20 denominations," sources in the Currency Note Press (<keyword id="6452151" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="CNP">CNP</keyword>), <keyword id="42738" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nashik">Nashik</keyword>a told TOI. The Nashik press does not print the new 2000-rupee notes. 
 
Of the total 43 million pieces sent to the RBI on Friday, 11 million pieces were in Rs 500 denomination, 12 million in Rs 100 and 10 million each in Rs 50 and Rs 20 denominations. 
 
Post demonetisation, in its first consignment sent to the RBI on November 11, the CNP had sent just 5 million pieces of 500-rupee notes. In the last 43 days, CNP has sent a total of 828 million pieces of various denominations to RBI's offices in various cities across the country . Of these, 250 million pieces were 500 rupee notes. In the last three days, CNP dispatched 83 million pieces of currency notes and 37.5 million pieces of these are 500-rupee notes. 
 
The CNP is expects to print another 800 million pieces of currency notes of various denominations by January 31. The new 500-rupee notes would account for half of this number. 
 There are only four currency note presses in the country. Of these, two are of the RBI at Mysore in <keyword id="6354780" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnataka">Karnataka</keyword> and <keyword id="93097" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salboni">Salboni</keyword> in <keyword id="6356978" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bengal">Bengal</keyword> while the remaining two are of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd at Nashik and Dewas. At CNP , Sundays are no longer holidays, there's no lunch or dinner break, and a work shift stretches to 11 hours.

With the ongoing cash crunch in the whole nation, the <keyword id="6354335" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword>) has decided to further increase the printing scale of new Rs 500 notes, in a hope that it will ease the situation. Banks across the country continue to face cash shortages and most of them are running out of money. 
 Private Banks are facing a tough time with the cash problem and according to the industry data, the supply was sharply reduced. The four currency printing presses, two owned by RBI at <keyword id="6358119" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="mysuru">Mysuru</keyword> and <keyword id="93097" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salboni">Salboni</keyword>, and two government-owned ones at <keyword id="42738" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nashik">Nashik</keyword> and Devas, which were operating two shifts, have now started working three shifts. 
 
The focus now is on augmenting the supply of Rs 500 notes, the sources said. 
 
"Supply to other banks will definitely improve. We are air-lifting 500-rupee notes. There will be some pressure initially but in the next few days it will ease," a government source told TOI. 
 
RBI is planning to increase the cash to nearly four times of what banks have been receiving in the last week and it is hoped that it will improve the conditions in bank branches and ATMs of large lenders is expected to improve substantially. 
 
Banks will be using the money to make available funds in centres where they have large number of salary accounts. 
 
Private Banks have also been making arrangements to distribute funds in companies which have a salary account with them through mobile devices. 
 
"For several years now, bulk of salary withdrawals are happening through ATMs. To take care of salary demand, we have filled our ATMs with Rs 2,000 notes," an official with a public sector bank, told TOI.

Under the OFS, AP Asia Opportunistic Holdings Pte. Ltd and Synergy Metals Investments Holding Ltd will offload shares worth Rs 937.5 crore each and <keyword id="19934368" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="State-Bank-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="State Bank of India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="State Bank of India">State Bank of India</keyword> (SBI) will divest shares valued at Rs 125 crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue to the tune of Rs 800 crore will be used for partially financing the establishment of a new integrated <keyword id="23013063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cement-unit" source="keywords">cement unit</keyword> in Nagaur, Rajasthan, while Rs 720 crore will be allocated for payment of debt and the remaining funds will be allocated for general corporate purposes. JSW Cement, which has a manufacturing capacity of 19 MT annually, aims to achieve the capacity of 60 MTPA. It currently has manufacturing units at Vijayanagar in Karnataka, Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh, Salboni in West Bengal, Jajpur in Odisha and Dolvi in Maharashtra. Besides, JSW Cement through its subsidiary Shiva Cement operates a clinker unit in Odisha. JSW Group has business interests in sectors such as steel, energy, maritime infrastructure, defence, B2B e-commerce, realty, paints, sports and venture capital. New Delhi, Nov 27 () JSW Cement is aiming to nearly double its production capacity to 25 million tonne per annum by 2023 by investing around Rs 2,875 crore and be among top five cement makers.
The investment would fund the expansion plans through a combination of debt and internal accruals, JSW Cement, part of USD 14 billion JSW Group, said in a statement. 
The company is planning to expand manufacturing capacity at its Odisha-based subsidiary Shiva Cement. It is also looking at ramping up capacity at its other units to reach the target. 
"As part of our strategy to play a significant role in India's infrastructure growth story, we are revising our overall cement capacity targets to 25 MTPA by 2023," said JSW Cement Managing Director Parth Jindal.
According to him, after completion of the capacity expansion, JSW Cement will be among top 5 Indian cement companies. 
The company's current capacity is 14 MTPA.
"JSW Cement's aggressive ramp up in capacity will entail a capex investment of approximately Rs 2,875 crore (including the planned capex at Shiva Cement)," the company said.
The company, which supplies cement to various infrastructure projects including Mumbai Metro, Kolkata Metro Rail, Coal India Project, AP State Housing Projects, among others, is sensing growth opportunity in the Portland Slag Cement (PSC).
"The growth opportunity for PSC is visible in the number of infrastructure projects that now uses JSW's PSC across India," it said adding the company is becoming a preferred green cement supplier for most of these projects. 
According to the statement, in the South, JSW Cement plans to add 3.6 MTPA capacity to take its overall green cement capacity to 11.6 MTPA. 
In the West, JSW Cement plans to add 2.4 MTPA taking its overall cement capacity to 4.6 MTPA. 
In eastern India, it is adding the largest chunk of production capacities of over 5 MTPA taking its capacity to 9 MTPA. 
"The capacity ramp up will be at manufacturing units at Salboni, West Bengal where the company will add 2.4 MTPA, Jajpur, Odisha facility with an addition of 1.8 MTPA along with 1 MTPA capacity addition at Shiva Cement," it said.
According to the Cement Manufacturers Association, India's cement industry has an installed capacity of 502 MTPA comprising about 250 large cement plants.

“The printing facility in Dewas, Nasik and Salboni in West Bengal were not utilised in the initial phase,” government sources told ET. 
 As per reports, the printing of <keyword id="3826395" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rs-2000-notes">Rs 2000 notes</keyword> began in August-September and nearly 480 million notes of Rs 2,000 denomination and an equal number of Rs 500 denominations were printed. 
 
“The printing facility at Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Ltd. (BRBNMPL) in Mysuru under Reserve Bank of India was sup with the De La Rue Giori, now KBA Giori, Switzerland. A similar facility has been developed at Salboni by Komori Corporation, Japan,” officials told ET. 
 
A senior government official on the condition of anonymity told ET, "The printing at other government presses will start soon. The bank note mills set up at Mysuru and Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh will be able to meet 70% of domestic currency demand in coming days. However, we are concerned with the capping on withdrawal of Rs 2000 per day up to November 18, 2016 and it is expected to lead to chaos at ATMs."

This is pegged as the last exercise of <keyword id="4136024" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="remonetisation">remonetisation</keyword>. "For day-to-day transaction purposes, the introduction of 200 rupee notes will add to the ease of operations," Soumya Kanti Ghosh, group chief economist at the SBI Group, told ET. The new Rs 200 note will bring some respite after the government decided to scrap Rs 1000 note and re-introduce Rs 500 note. “The introduction of 200 rupee notes will replenish the missing middle, triggered by the withdrawal of the old series of 500 rupee notes,” Ghosh added. During <keyword id="3315394" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="demonetisation">demonetisation</keyword>, the government withdrew old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, which accounted for about 86% of currency in circulation of Rs 17.9 lakh crore. As on June 9 this year, the currency circulation with the public is at Rs 14.6 lakh crore, still 18.4% lower than the pre-demonetisation level. The printing of currency notes is done either in printing units run by the government-run Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd or at printing presses in Mysore (Karnataka) and Salboni (West Bengal), managed by the RBI-owned Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Ltd.

"The delay in payment is triggering dissent among workers. They are refusing to take up fresh projects unless their dues are cleared. This has severely affected works like building roads, ponds and dams and making arid land cultivable," he told ET. Singha is not alone. Hundreds of samitis across the country face the same problem. 
 Late payments and slashed budget have derailed many projects in <keyword id="20154" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword>, which has been rated as the best performing state. "Villagers are not ready to work because of delayed wages. If the delay continues, there will be a problem getting workers under NREGS," said an official, adding there was a shortfall of Rs 1,700 crore in the last quarter of 2014-15. 
 Sources told ET in the <keyword id="58906" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Karnataka-government">Karnataka government</keyword> pointed out that the peak working season for NREGS schemes starts from NovemberDecember. "Lack of funds will have a debilitating impact on these schemes as we can't keep up the momentum and meet the needs of the wage seekers," the sources said, adding the Centre was yet to clear Rs 141.5 crore wage bills. 
 <keyword id="6354915" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Assam">Assam</keyword> CM <keyword id="6364034" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tarun-Gogoi">Tarun Gogoi</keyword> also echoed the views that the cut in funds came at a time when NREGS were making substantial progress.
