Whether it’s the hero’s charisma, the heroine’s charm or the PR machinery doing its job well, the hype created around big-budget films nowadays is commendable and often ensures a great opening. But that doesn’t mean the movie is going to be a big hit in the long run. Neither the star power, nor the publicity can save some flicks from being box office bombs. And the result? An over-hyped flop! <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> has produced a lot of these over-hyped duds and here’s a look at the top of the flops. 
 
1. <keyword id="6593120" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jai-Ho">Jai Ho</keyword> 
This one finally made us doubtful about Brand Salman, well-known for churning out mega hits that rake in big moolah. Although the man himself promoted his film unabashedly almost everywhere, the movie has seen a lukewarm response from Day 1. True, it has managed to enter the 100 crore club, but that’s no big feat for a Salman-starrer. 
 
2. Besharam 
We never had good vibes since the time this flick made its first appearance. Still, we had faith in Ranbir Kapoor. But after the gem called Barfi, the star fell flat on his face in Besharam. There’s not much of a storyline here and the rumours that the female lead was played by the director’s girlfriend also went against the film. 
 
3. Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara Here’s a victim of supreme overconfidence – a sequel that has swanky names and no storyline. While Akshay sucked as the lousy don, <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword> never looked so artificial. 
 
4. Himmatwala 
Not every remake can be a Devdas. Himmatwala, one of the most anticipated movies of 2013, turned out to be one of the biggest stumbles of the year. Directed by <keyword id="16026" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sajid-Khan">Sajid Khan</keyword>, who had earlier come up with hits like Housefull, and starring a fine actor like <keyword id="6354714" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ajay-Devgn">Ajay Devgn</keyword>, it should have been a super hit, but came down crashing due to its all-round poor performance. 
 
5. <keyword id="22939" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="boss">Boss</keyword> Just like Salman, <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword> is known to deliver hits, especially after movies such as Special Chabbis, Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786 rocked the box office. But the bubble burst when Boss was released. The audacious Akshay didn’t even have a heroine to himself in the film. But then, a bikini-clad Aditi Rao Hydari (romancing someone else) and Akshay Kumar as a Jat were not enough to churn out a hit. 
 
6. Ghanchakkar 
Just when Vidya Balan was thinking to change her name to Vidya Balan ‘Khan’ who could produce a blockbuster every time, Ghanchakkar happened. Considering her earlier releases such as Kahaani and <keyword id="512405" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="the-dirty-picture">The Dirty Picture</keyword>, all eyes were on this one but the tanked miserably at the box office. Even Vidya’s unfunny Punju accent couldn’t save it. 
 
7. Nasha India might be the land of Kama Sutra, but when it comes to watching semi-porn movies, we are still not comfortable. Every time the Internet sensation <keyword id="597184" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Poonam-Pandey">Poonam Pandey</keyword> titillated everyone with tweets about her film, Nasha, she added millions of followers. But those virtual fans never made it to the theatre to watch the flick. 
 
8. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola 
Vishal Bhardwaj is a director whose films are always looked forward to. And his last release was no different except for the fact that the film didn’t impact the audience in the same way as before. 
 
9. Heroine Kareena is the <keyword id="6377522" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="queen">Queen</keyword> Bee of Bollywood while <keyword id="6389563" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Madhur-Bhandarkar">Madhur Bhandarkar</keyword> is a seasoned director. So when the two came together, fireworks were obvious. But to everyone’s surprise, Heroine turned out to be one of the biggest disasters.

Overhyped Bollywood Films That Flopped

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 8 (ANI): Loved watching 'Housefull' franchise? If yes, then there's an update for you all. As per a source, Akshay is expected to start shooting for the fifth installement from January 15, 2024 in London. Starring <keyword id="2823" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar" source="Orion">Akshay Kumar</keyword> and Riteish Deshmukh along with other actors, the film is all set to be released during Diwali in 2024. In June this year, Akshay announced the fifth instalment of his hit comedy franchise 'Housefull'. Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared a poster of '<keyword id="8370870" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housefull-5" source="Orion">Housefull 5</keyword>' captioning it, "Get ready for FIVE times the madness!. Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala's #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!" 'Housefull 5' marks the first-ever franchise film in Indian Cinema to have five installments.The first part of 'Housefull' was released in the year 2010 and starred Akshay, Riteish, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani. The film was declared a hit, followed by another hit sequel 'Housefull 2' which was released in the 2012 and included a stellar cast of Akshay, Ritiesh, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Asin. Both parts were helmed by director Sajid Khan. Sajid was replaced in the third instalment of the film by director duo Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji. The film was released in 2016. Director Farhad Samji helmed the fourth part of the franchise which was a reincarnation comedy film. The fifth part will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani. Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it. (ANI)

Akshay Kumar to start shooting for 'Housefull 5' in January 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 10 (ANI): <keyword id="246214" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Actor-and-Dancer" source="Orion">Actor and dancer</keyword> Nora Fatehi has joined choreographer <keyword id="6361404" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Remo-Dsouza" source="Orion">Remo D'souza</keyword> as a co-judge on the hip-hop-based dance reality show, 'Hip-Hop India'. She shared her excitement and said, "Hip-Hop India are literally the words that I like to shout out loud whenever I see anyone grooving and dancing. Hip-Hop is one of the coolest and most fun styles of dance that exists. To be a judge on this show and the fact that my co-judge is my dear friend, Remo D'Souza is nothing but pure excitement manifested into reality." Nora made her debut in the film 'Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans'. She gained popularity for her item songs in films like 'Temper', 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Kick 2' and has also starred in two Malayalam films, 'Double Barrel' and 'Kayamkulam Kochunni'. She also appeared in the reality shows as a host and judge. Some of them included MTV's 'Dating in the Dark', 'Dance Deewane Juniors', 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10', among others. She also participated in 'Bigg Boss 9' and performed on the recreated version of 'Dilbar' in 'Satyameva Jayate'. Later, she collaborated with Tanzanian musician and songwriter Rayvanny to release her first international English debut song 'Pepeta'. She was also selected to feature in 'Light The Sky', a song for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, collaborating with artists, RedOne, Manal, Balqees and Rahma Riad. Nora will be next seen in director Sajid Khan's upcoming comedy film '100%' alongside John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh and Shehnaaz Gill. 'Hip-Hop India' will stream from July 21 on Amazon miniTV. Nora Fatehi joins Remo D'souza as a co-judge on 'Hip-Hop India'

Mumbai, Jun 2 () A day after the demise of singer-music director Wajid Khan of composer duo Sajid-Wajid, their mother Razina Khan tested positive for the coronavirus, a family source said on Tuesday. Razina Khan is admitted to Surana Hospital in Chembur, where Wajid Khan was also undergoing treatment. "She has tested positive. She is doing fine and will remain in the hospital for few more days till her test comes out negative," the insider said. Wajid Khan, 42, tested positive for COVID-19 and died of a cardiac arrest. Popular for collaborating with brother Sajid Khan, on superstar Salman Khan's films like "Wanted", "Dabangg" series and "Ek Tha Tiger", the music composer died early Monday morning in a city hospital here. Sajid-Wajid made their Bollywood debut with Salman's 1998 movie "Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya" and went on to create chartbusters for actor's various films including "Garv", "Tere Naam", "Tumko Na Bhool Payenge", "Partner". <ul><li>As more and more cases of sexual harassments in India have come to light through the <keyword id="5901457" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="MeToo">#MeToo</keyword> movement, the Indian government is setting up a <keyword id="6955125" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="4-judge-bench">4-judge bench</keyword> to address them.</li><li><keyword id="42851" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maneka-Gandhi">Maneka Gandhi</keyword> has also asked for extending the statute of limitations for reporting harassment to be increased to 10-15 years rather than just 3 months. </li><li>The ministry has also set up alternative methods of registering a complaint, in case victims don’t want to reach out to their respective Internal Complaints Committees.</li></ul>The #MeToo movement in India seems to finally be tipping towards action with the Maneka Gandhi, the minister of Women &amp; Child Development, stating that public hearings will be conducted to hear these cases of <keyword id="46530" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-assault">sexual assault</keyword> and harassment.

 A bench of four retired judges will be put in place by the ministry to hear out the cases that have surfaced during the #MeToo movement. The ministry’s also set up a dedicated portal for women to make their complaints, in case they don’t want to go to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), called ‘She-Box’. According to the notice by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, complainants can also reach out via email or tweet directly using the hashtag #HelpMeWCD.

 Gandhi’s also written to the law ministry to increase the time for reporting sexual assault to 10-15 years later. Currently, India’s laws against <keyword id="16048" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-harassment">sexual harassment</keyword> entailed in the POSH Act only allow victims to report harassment within 3 months of it happening. She added that “You will always remember the person who did it...Anger at sexual molestation never goes away.”

 The movement in India was started by a female stand up comedian, who accused Utsav Chakraborty of sending across unsolicited photos of his genitals. A frequent collaborator with All India Bakchod (AIB), India’s prominent comic collective, Chakraborty was fired. Even Tanmay Bhat, the CEO of AIB, stepped down in lieu of inaction despite knowing about the events that had transgressed. A number of women have spoken up there after calling out many eminent Bollywood personalities, including Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai, Nana Patekar and Alok Nath, the supposed Babuji (elder) in the industry. Allegations have also been levelled against the junior minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the political editor at Hindustan Times and a senior Tata Motors executive.
