Had it been 2010 or 2012, TV shows like Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, Jaat Ki Jugni, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji, Nach Baliye 8 would have never dared to open their seasons in mid April. No the high level of mercury or power cuts isn’t the reason for it. In 2016, TVR of IPL series was around 3.5.

IPL series don’t bother the TV producers with viewership threats anymore . Here's why

Cell phones and the digital revolution in India have impacted our lives in many ways. Today many of us would ideally prefer to Chat or ‘WhatsApp’ with our family members more often than talking to them in person. 
 To take a dig at this generation, and for emphasizing the importance of having stronger family ties sans technology, <keyword id="14750" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="SAB-TV">SAB TV</keyword> has launched the <keyword id="2716383" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="DigitalDividesSABUnites">#DigitalDividesSABUnites</keyword> campaign. 
 
The campaign features a film conceptualized by Soho Square Mumbai. 
 
As part of its #DigitalDividesSABUnites campaign, this film makes its point in Bollywood style; with the help of song and dance. The TVC smoothly dovetails the brand promise, puts SAB TV right in the centre of the solution to the growing ‘digital obsession’ malaise, and closes with the channel positioning, “Asli Mazza SAB ke Saath Aata Hai.” 
 The ad film, which went live on 31st January, is directed by Prasoon Pandey of <keyword id="546977" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Corcoise-Films">Corcoise Films</keyword>. 
 Anooj Kapoor, Senior <keyword id="373820" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="EVP-and-business-head">EVP and Business Head</keyword>, SAB TV, said, “Our film takes a light-hearted dig at how the virtual world is beginning to overpower the real world which we inhabit. The fact that the virtual world has made us individualistic and introverted is nicely contrasted with how SAB continues to make us extroverted and re-enthuses us to bond with our family through fun and entertainment.” 
 
The campaign will run across TV, DTH, Cinema Halls, Digital and on-ground events. 
 
The channel, after the recent demise of celebrated cartoonist RK Lakshman, created a program called R K Laxman Ki Duniya—it was based on the books and works of R K Laxman, attempted to capture episodes and incidents involving happenings in the life of the common man. 
The show represented the character's hopes, aspirations, troubles and weaknesses in day-to-day life as depicted by R.K Laxman over the years. As an expression of gratitude and to honour the eminent cartoonist, SAB TV brings back R.K Laxman Ki Duniya this Saturday from 11:30am to 1:30pm. 
 
However, despite attempts to grab a bigger mindshare among the Indian TV viewers, SAB TV’s ratings continue to slip. As per TAM ratings, last week, the channel’s ratings dipped to 305 million GVTs (Gross Viewership in Thousands) as compared to 318 GVTs the corresponding week.

SAB TV takes a dig at the Internet generation

Way before when reality shows became a staple of Indian television culture, <keyword id="17442" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Annu-Kapoor">Annu Kapoor</keyword> was hosting one. It went by the name of <keyword id="400" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Antakshari">Antakshari</keyword>, a singing reality show, which was conceived and directed by <keyword id="27515" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gajendra-Singh">Gajendra Singh</keyword>, the man behind many other successful reality shows. 
 The famous show, which has given us wonderful Bollywood singers like <keyword id="6574" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sonu-Nigam">Sonu Nigam</keyword>, <keyword id="5293" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sunidhi-Chauhan">Sunidhi Chauhan</keyword> and <keyword id="7185" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shreya-Ghoshal">Shreya Ghoshal</keyword>, will be back on Indian screens after a hiatus of 8 years. 
 It will be telecast on <keyword id="14750" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="SAB-TV">SAB TV</keyword>, a GEC owned by MSM Motion Pictures. Annu Kapoor is likely to be seen as the judge of the show. <keyword id="6376169" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="mantra">Mantra</keyword> and <keyword id="423078" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="sugandha-mishra">Sugandha Mishra</keyword> (popular faces of Indian television) will be show’s new hosts. In the past, artists like Durga Jasraj, Renuka Shahane, Pallavi Joshi, Shefali, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Richa Sharma co-hosted the show with Annu Kapoor. 
 
The show has been rechristened as <keyword id="2517831" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Family-Antakshari">Family Antakshari</keyword>, and would see 4 members of a family participating in the show. The auditions have begun and are underway. Interested families can send in their participation by recording an audition video sharing their happiest and saddest moments, their individual talents, and of course, playing antakshari. 
 
The weekend show starts from ​8 PM on 27th September, and will be sponsored by Karbonn Mobiles, and powered by Lifebuoy.

 Satyamev Jayate 2 on Star Plus got a grand opening on people-meters and helped the channel cross the 700-TVM mark again. As per TAM data for Week 10, the launch episode was watched by a massive 26 million viewers. When extrapolated to the all-India <keyword id="6471260" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Universe">universe</keyword>, as per standard industry conversions, it means that the launch episode was watched by 79 million viewers.
 The show recorded 7429 TVT in All-India (All 4+, All India) and a <keyword id="1929291" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="HSM">HSM</keyword> TVT of 6770 (All 4+, HSM). These are simulcast ratings of the original episode aired on Sunday morning 11 AM across seven channels (Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star World, Star Utsav, Star Vijay, Asianet and Doordarshan) along with the 1 PM original airing on ETV Telugu.

	According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 10 of TAM 2014 (February 2 - March 8) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus led the Hindi GEC genre with a distant margin followed by Zee TV at No. 2 and Colors at No. 3. By adding 32 TVM to its gross viewership, Life OK strengthened its position at No. 4. While SAB rose to No. 5, Sony slipped to No. 6.

	By adding maximum 80 TVM to its gross viewership this week on the back of Satyamev Jayate 2 and other fiction shows, Star Plus's GTVM was recorded at 717 TVM with a relative share of 26.97% (last week 637 TVM with 24.5% relative share).

	Zee TV witnessed a decline of 20 TVM in its gross viewership but held No. 2 position with a big margin. The channel recorded 528 TVM with a relative share of 19.86% (last week 548 TVM with 21.08% relative share).

	Colors lost maximum 30 TVM and dropped to 435 GTVM. It had a relative share of 16.36% (last week 465 TVM with 17.88% relative share).

	Life OK witnessed a surge in its viewership in the second consecutive week and strengthened its position at No. 4. The channel recorded GTVM of 373 against last week's 341. The relative share of the channel was 14.03% in Week 10 of TAM 2014 against last week's 13.12%.

	<keyword id="14750" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="SAB-TV">SAB TV</keyword> returned to No. 5 with 305 TVM and 11.47% relative share (last week 303 TVM and 11.65% relative share).

	Sony slipped to No. 6 recording GTVM of 301 million. It had a relative share of 11.32% (last week 306 TVM and 11.77% relative share).

Satyamev Jayate 2 Helps Star Plus Cross 700-TVM Mark Again

It seems that the GEC spectrum in India is on an expansion spree. The magic of Zee’s channel <keyword id="566945" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zindagi">Zindagi</keyword> hasn’t even settled yet and we already have a new channel in the making. This time, Sony TV has come up with a new channel, and has named it as Pal, the Hindi word for a moment. 
 <keyword id="135685" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Multi-Screen-Media">Multi Screen Media</keyword>, the company that owns Sony entertainment television and all its sister channels, has made this channel as a tribute to women, and this is evident from the promos of all the shows and the channel itself. 
 "With Sony, we are reaching out to men and women in SEC A, B and C segments in cities with a population of over 1 million (essentially the metros). SAB TV helps us reach people in non-metro markets. With <keyword id="2443105" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sony-Pal">Sony Pal</keyword>, we are targetting women aged between 15 and 34 years from the SEC B, C, D and even E segments. With these three channels, we have pretty much every audience covered by the network," says N P Singh, CEO of MSM India. 
 
Singh has currently refused to divulge the investment made in the channel. Talking of the financial aspects, the channel is presently not having any advertisers or sponsors as of yet. An unofficial statement from MSM says that advertisers are positive regarding the channel but would like to wait till the channel gets some good viewership. 
 
Juhi Chawla, ex Miss India and a popular Bollywood actress, has been roped in as the face of this new channel. She would be seen making appearances in promotional activities and on the channel, and she might even host a show on the channel later. 
 
Monday through Saturday, the channel will air fiction shows for three hours from 7:30 to 10:30 PM, while Sundays will have non-fiction content. Actor-producer Raveena Tandon will be seen hosting a talk show on Sundays, in which only women will participate. 
 
The shows start today from 7:30 PM onwards. The channel would be available across all major multi-system operators and direct-to-home platforms right from the day of its launch.

5. Shammi Aunty 
She was born as Nargis Rabadi, but has always been lovingly called as Shammi Aunty. Starting her career as a supporting actress in Begum Para and Sheikh Mukhtar starrer Ustad Pedro, she has completed more than 6 decades in the industry. She was last seen as Boman Irani’s grandmother in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. 
 
6. Tanaaz and Bhakhtyar Irani 
The celebrity couple is known for showing some dancing moves in the celebrity dance show Nach Baliye. Their stint in the third season of the popular show Bigg Boss made them a household name, with Bhaktyar Irani reaching in the final four. The couple will soon make a comeback on the television screen, with a new show Badi Door Se Aaye Hai by Hatsoff Productions. The show goes on air on 9th of June, on SAB TV. Delnaaz Irani is the sister of Bhakhtyar and is a famous <keyword id="18579" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="TV-artist">TV artist</keyword> herself, last seen in Sony TV’s Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara.
