sleek design and comes with an aluminium unibody design, giving it a sturdy and premium feel. The tablet measures 7.52mm and weighs 568 grams. The tablet comes in two colour options - Quick Silver and Graphite Grey. I got the Graphite Grey colour variant, which comes with a dual-tone matte finish. The area around the rear camera setup has a long strip in a darker tone, while the rest of the back features a lighter tone. <div type="image" title="Back" msid="114583789" hostid="261" sizebytes="52882" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Pad Pro 5G rear design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The tablet comes with a minimalistic design, featuring two circular modules at the back – one for the camera and one for the LED. It comes with Redmi branding at the bottom. Apart from this, there’s nothing at the back. Thanks to its metallic body, you don’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges. The volume rockers have been placed considering that the tablet will be used vertically and horizontally. The volume rockers are on the right when held vertically and on the top when used horizontally. <div type="image" title="Top" msid="114584038" hostid="261" sizebytes="25798" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Power button and speakers&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The power button is on the top when held vertically and on the left side when held horizontally. I had no issues using the volume rockers and the power button. The SIM tray has been placed on the right side, along with two microphones. It works well both indoors and outdoors, so you won’t have to worry about using it in sunlight. The tablet’s high resolution and refresh make it an excellent option for watching your favourite movies and shows, gaming and more. <h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G software and performance</h2>The Redmi Pad Pro 5G runs on Android 14 out of the box, with the company’s HyperOS on top. For those unaware, Xiaomi has replaced MIUI, the company’s custom skin with HyperOS. The tablet will get two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. The tablet comes with a host of connectivity features, including the Smartphone Link feature that allows you to transfer data from your Xiaomi smartphone and tablet easily. In addition to this, you also get a shared clipboard feature, which allows you to copy text and images from your smartphone and paste them onto your tablet. In terms of performance, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. It is available in two variants – 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. I tested the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant. This is a mid-range chipset that offers decent performance and is enough to get you through your day-to-day activities. While it is not the most powerful chipset, I did not notice any stuttering or lags while gaming at default settings. The device does get slightly warm after an extended gaming session. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes with a huge 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The battery on the tablet is good, offering two days of battery life with some gaming and steaming. Another important feature of the tablet is that it supports 5G connectivity, which is great to have, especially for data connectivity. <h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G camera</h2>It features an 8MP primary camera with 4K recording support and comes with an 8MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. After the launch of Redmi Note 13 series, Oppo has now played its turn with the new Reno 11 series. Perhaps the most famous product from the brand Reno devices enjoys a cult following. To the point that I have been stopped twice in my last week of testing enquiring about the product. Fascinatingly once in Goa and then in Delhi. I have tested the last two generations of Reno Pro devices. Reno 11 Pro seems like the culmination of the progress I have seen over the last two years. So is this the ultimate Reno device? And how does it stand against the heavy weights in its category like <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/redmi-note-13-pro-review-a-new-mid-range-fighter/articleshow/106617001.cms">Redmi Note 13 Pro+</a>. It’s clean, minimal and lightweight. To the point that it will remind you a lot of the Reno 10 Pro, like it did to me. The form factor is of course similar, but I am not complaining. Considering the new additions here are commendable especially in terms of the quality of materials here. The Reno 11 Pro sports a glass back and front, with particularly the ‘Pearl White’ color standing out. I am usually not a big fan of patterns on a smartphone but the back on Reno 11 Pro has been executed beautifully. It has a matte finish to it which also encourages you to let go of a case. However, be careful since you do not want to drop it. While I am definitely impressed by the cameras I am not happy with the orientation here. Placed vertically the camera bump stands out like a sore thumb and tends to break away from the minimal design we enjoy on the rest of the smartphone. Oppo has tried to compensate by giving it a silver finish with toothed edges. And yet I have not been able to wrap my head around it. Beyond that the design carries familiar elements. We have the volume rockers and power button on the right edge, and yes they are tactile. At the bottom we have the Type-C charging port next to the SIM card slot and speaker grill. The smartphone supports 2 micro SIMs. On top we have the rejuvenated IR blaster here, a feature which has made a comeback in a big way across devices. And yes it's more useful than you can imagine. A universal remote in your pocket? I can vouch for that. Whether you're engrossed in content or merely glancing at the always-on screen, this luminous panel offers ease on the eyes, even under direct sunlight. With crisp details, natural colors, and a curved display that enhances the overall viewing experience, it's a standout feature. However, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ at a lower price offers a brighter display with 1800 nits of peak brightness. And you will notice the difference between the two devices especially while watching content and at bright outdoors. Oppo's implementation of the always-on display deserves praise. Its customisable and the wallpaper options are also commendable. However, as with curved screens, occasional mistouches remain a slight inconvenience. Despite its excellent execution, inadvertent touches leading to accidental app openings or difficulties with the volume slider in portrait mode are minor trade-offs. The display seamlessly integrates an optical fingerprint scanner. While it takes a split second to unlock the device, its consistent performance without misses is commendable. The screen truly shines in the viewing experience, especially when coupled with the 120Hz refresh rate. The standard 120Hz refresh rate offers a smoother experience for gaming and content consumption, flawlessly delivered by the Reno 11 Pro. While switching between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz may cause a slight lag, the superior visual experience compensates for it. The bright, color-accurate panel is a delight, supporting HDR 10 &amp; 10+ for HD content on OTT apps like Disney Plus Hotstar. For instance, watching What If Season 3 on the platform provides a diverse range to evaluate the display quality, from bright outdoor scenes to dark indoors. Fortunately, the Reno 11 Pro excels in these tests. The display maintains accuracy throughout, showcasing deep blacks and minimal light leakage. For content consumption enthusiasts, the Reno 11 Pro stands out. That being said, the auto brightness feature here is out of sync while watching content. With the phone really dimming down when it's not necessary. So I preferred keeping the auto brightness off throughout the day. Oppo has also prioritized sound quality, evident in the stereo speaker setup that delivers loud audio output with retained detail even at lower volume levels, albeit with potential detail loss in super volume mode. Software The Oppo Reno 11 Pro arrives with Android 14 out of the box, showcasing the ColorOS 14 skin. While the overall user experience of the skin remains consistent, there are some classic features I should highlight. Commencing with the general features, we see a considerable amount of pre-installed bloatware which stands out. Fortunately we have the ability to uninstall these apps. Notably, there are no questionable app recommendations, which is a positive aspect of the software. Visually, Color OS 14 retains its strengths with vibrant colors and crisp text, offering a user-friendly and easily navigable interface. The array of customization options is extensive, enabling personalization of various screen elements, from widgets to icon designs and color schemes. However, integrating elements from stock Android 14, especially within the drop-down menu, akin to the larger tiles seen in default Android skins like the Pixel 8, could enhance the overall user experience, in my opinion. Setting that observation aside, Oppo promotes ColorOS 14 as a more intelligent operating system with some standout features. Firstly, auto pixelation is introduced, automatically blurring people in screenshots to safeguard their identity. While it may miss some instances when operating automatically, manual blur options directly from the screenshot menu are welcomed. Another feature, Multi Screen Connect, facilitates connectivity between Oppo products like the Pad Air and enables Oppo smartphone connection with PCs. This feature is particularly useful for presentations, although the connection process might take some time. The device also supports fast pairing with Oppo Buds, a feature increasingly common in modern devices, akin to OnePlus devices and Nord Buds using OnePlus Fast Pair. The meeting assistant stands out as one of the most useful features, allowing the device to switch to a mobile network for a stable internet connection during video calls. Tested and proven practical, this feature comes in handy, especially if your router is distant from your seating area. Oppo emphasizes the future-proof nature of their devices, evident in their promised update cycles. The brand commits to offering three years of Android updates and four years of security updates for the Reno 11, ensuring users remain updated and secure over an extended period. Performance Oppo Reno 11 Pro runs on Mediatek Dimensity 8200, a respectable but older chipset. Oppo might get some flack for this decision, however I don’t see any blanket reason to complain. It’s efficient, enables SuperVOOC charging and works in tandem with the camera. Before I explain my experience let's get into some numbers. I ran a Geekbench 6 CPU test on the Oppo Reno 11 Pro. The single-core score for the device is 1220 and the multi-core score is 3516. These are respectable numbers and should satisfy both power hungry and efficient users. This is higher than the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ which scored 1121 and 2630 respectively. As anticipated, the Reno 11 Pro delivers consistent and dependable performance, thanks to the comprehensive package Oppo offers with this device. It boasts 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, more than adequate for most users. While it allows for internal RAM expansion using spare storage, I've yet to encounter a scenario where this feature is necessary. Speaking of performance, particularly in demanding tasks like gaming, I rigorously tested COD:Mobile on the Reno 11 Pro 5G, playing for at least 2 hours daily. Even with settings maxed out at HDR graphics I didn't experience any glitches or frame drops. The sizable 6.7-inch display enhances gaming, facilitating easy enemy detection and elimination. The blend of the high refresh rate and robust SoC ensures a seamless and fluid gaming experience. Compared to the Nord 3, the Reno 11 Pro 5G felt smoother, largely due to the superior SoC. After continuous gaming for about 50 minutes, the phone does warm up, but discomfort becomes noticeable only after the 1-hour mark. However, it quickly cools down, allowing swift return to gaming without significant delays. Efficient RAM utilization in the Reno 11 Pro 5G enables holding applications in the background for extended periods, including apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and heavier ones like COD: Mobile. Switching between apps is seamless, seamlessly picking up where you left off. This performance isn't limited to gaming; everyday use remains smooth, ensuring general users won't encounter issues. For basic users not heavily into gaming or pushing device limits, the specifications and real-life performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G might be excessive. With 256GB internal storage (where the system utilizes around 25GB), the remaining 225GB suffices for most users. If additional storage is needed, considering extra cloud storage is an option as the Reno 11 Pro doesn't support external SD cards. Before wrapping up, the battery performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G deserves mention. Equipped with a 4600mAh battery, it's challenging to drain, especially for light users. Impressive numbers indeed. With casual to heavy usage, I averaged around 7 hours of screen time, encompassing gaming, video calls, and YouTube consumption. For light users, the battery life extends even further, comfortably lasting over a workday. Supporting 80W SuperVOOC charging, the device excels in efficiency. The bundled 80W charger replenishes the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 35 minutes, even with mobile data turned on. Camera Now the resolution on the cameras on 11 Pro are practically the same but their is a difference in results. Especially the low light performance. With its triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary camera, a 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, the Reno 11 Pro offers a versatile photography experience. The 50MP camera impresses with its sharp imagery, vibrant colors, and exceptional dynamic range, particularly in bright outdoor conditions. Oppo's algorithm enhances these images, presenting final results that may differ from what's initially seen in the viewfinder. Even spontaneous shots retain detail when zoomed in. Utilizing the dedicated 50MP mode elevates detail and ensures accurate color reproduction. Indoor photography, however, displays limitations, notably in noise and dynamic range, particularly in challenging lighting conditions. Nonetheless, activating the night mode improves performance. The 32MP telephoto sensor impresses with its ability to capture sharp shots indoors and outdoors. Portrait mode excels in edge detection, creating a pleasing bokeh effect around multiple subjects in a frame. The 8MP ultra-wide sensor performs well by maintaining color accuracy without significant deviations. The smartphone can now record 4K videos at 30FPS from the front camera. This is a significant improvement over the predecessor, and comes in handy for video creators. Verdict Oppo Reno 11 Pro continues the legacy of what we expect from Reno devices - beautiful camera results, solid battery life and striking design. If you are looking for this trinity then Reno 11 Pro should be on your list. While there are dedicated audio brands like Boat, Boult and Mivi dominating this segment, smartphone brands have also marked their presence. I tend to shift towards well executed stick designs because my ears are outwards. Hence, no matter what TWS bud I use, it tends to fall off. This is not the case with the Buds 4 Active, since they are able to sit perfectly in my ears. However, if there are excessive moments like workouts, I find myself sticking them back in more often than not. The buds come with three additional pairs of ear tips, adding to the convenience. I have used the default tips though and they have worked well for me. Offering a fairly basic menu of gestures Buds 4 Active are easy to understand. A simple tap means play or pause, a longer tap means accessing voice assistant and a double tap lets you shuffle the playlist. The gestures work well at most times, but I did find them missing out when my fingers were sweaty. Here it’s important to mention the buds are in fact IPX4 sweat and splash resistant. A common but important expectation from a product of this category. Unfortunately, we can’t set custom gestures here, unlike the Nord Buds 2 where we get a dedicated app for customisation. The supported app situation isn’t something to bother about in this area, but it does have certain implications which I will cover in next sections. Moving now to the case, which sports a rather generic design. While purists might not like it, but I believe in - why fix when not broken? Ideology. It’s an ergonomic design, making the case portable and easy to carry around. The case is lightweight, even with the buds, so carrying it in your pocket isn’t a problem. There is a LED indicator at the bottom denoting connectivity, which comes in handy. At the bottom you will find the USB Type-C charging port, which is placed conveniently for access. Connectivity Redmi Buds 4 Active can be connected in multiple ways, of course all are dependent on bluetooth. First the more conventional way, to add the buds in your bluetooth devices on your smartphone. It’s simple: you go to the bluetooth menu and then wait for it to pop up. It works well and shows up quickly. I used this method to connect it with my iPhone and the process was a breeze. Second way is Android only - Fast Pair. It essentially means the buds will pop up on your Android device in close range. I tried it out with Google Pixel 7a and the OnePlus 9RT both worked well. While the process to connect is easy, the buds do miss out on multi-device connectivity. This means you can’t connect the buds simultaneously to say a laptop and your smartphone. This is a major dud for me. By the virtue of being a budget offering I can cut some slack here, but then again I hope someone breaks this barrier. The buds emit a powerful and remarkably clear sound. The audio output possesses a satisfying level of bass, not excessively thumping but substantial enough for you to notice and appreciate. The optimal audio experience is achieved when the volume is set at 70%. At this level, you can discern the vocals and instruments distinctly. However, raising the volume beyond this point results in a noticeable loss of detail and distortion in the audio. The lack of a dedicated customisation app starts bothering here. We do have dedicated hardware to take care of multiple profiles but we don’t have the resources to do it. This is a miss in my opinion. Yes most customers won’t require it, but having an option also helps in developing habits for the end consumer. I was pleasantly surprised by the satisfactory calling experience provided by the buds, which was on par with the Nord Buds. The audio quality was crisp, and the microphone performed flawlessly. However, I must admit that budget TWS buds still fall short in terms of microphone quality compared to high-quality wired earphones, such as my regular wired Apple ear plugs. The buds promise a battery life of 30 hours, with the case. The real time number is around 25 hours depending on the usage. In real terms for a light user, it should last an entire week before you plug it-in. I was using it to attend calls, listen to music and watch content, hence I had to charge it once every 3 days. The buds do support fast charging wherein you can get a 90 minutes of battery in 10 minutes of plugging in. This feature comes in handy more often than not, especially when you are getting late and don’t have time to plug in the buds. Verdict Redmi Buds 4 Active are a decent option in the TWS buds space. The strength of the product lies in solid audio performance, fast pair option and decent battery life. It is what I call a safe product. But if you are more open minded, and don’t mind learning a few new tricks then I suggest checking out OnePlus Nord Buds 2 as well.

I have been using the 65-inch U1S TV for over four months which is a fair amount of time to find out whether it's a safe investment or not as it’s been used for over a hundred hours. While there's no Dolby Vision support, the HDR 10 and 10+ does enhance the results for HDR content if supported. The colour reproduction and tones, sharpness and brightness are very impressive. Even for SDR content, the quality was at par with the best in this range, it shows evenly saturated colour tones and crisp details with ample brightness. There's also an option to change picture modes and other settings like brightness, warmth etc to suit your preference. But of all the modes, we liked the 'Movie' the best for watching shows and movies. It also upscales regular 24fps and 30fps content to 60fps without showing any sign of stutter with the help of MEMC. It's great to watch fast-moving content like sports and even movies that support a higher refresh rate. I did not notice any banding or clouding issue, which used to be a common trait on LED panels, but this one does a great job in that department. I would recommend you to keep the TV in a position where there's no light source on the opposite sides as you might see the reflection on the screen in dark scenes. Even with the peak brightness, the issue sustains and it can be seen in the pictures I took of the TV. If you're a gamer with any of the new consoles with support for high refresh rate at 4K resolution, this TV can do a fair job for gaming as well. it supports HDMI 2.1 with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) which turns on as soon as you plug your console. I used my PS5 to play some new titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima and some multiplayer games like Fifa 21, and Rocket League and I didn't find a reason to complain unless your expectations are supremely high. It handles 60fps well, has great black levels and doesn't miss a single particle effect. Ghosts of Tsushima is a visual treat in itself and the TV doesn't upset in showing the beautiful horizons in their full glory. Details like the blowing wind, greenery, water and even combat sequences look great. Overall, this TV is tuned well for content ranging from animated cartoons to dark DC movies. Not only that, but gamers can also resort to this one if OLED and QLEDs are out of budget and the size matters more than the picture quality. Overall, the TV has a good panel for content consumption and gaming and this is where the praises for the TV come to an end as we will now venture into areas that have some issues that could affect your purchase decision. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Audio performance" comment="subhead" text="Audio performance">Audio performance</cmsannotation> As soon as I set up this TV, I went to YouTube to check the audio and I was a little disappointed. I am not a fan of built-in speakers on affordable TVs as the content nowadays is made for bigger and better speakers just like the screens. While the U1S does a fair job at voice clarity, loudness and definition, the bass response leaves you asking for more. You won't have the best experience watching a movie or even listening to a song unless you connect it to an external speaker. It's good enough for family members who watch daily soaps, cartoons, podcasts, news or even for gaming. So, investing in an external speaker is suggested only if you wish the get a theatre-like movie watching experience at home. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="User Interface and performance" comment="subhead" text="User Interface and performance">User Interface and performance</cmsannotation> Like all OnePlus TVs, the U1S also comes with Android TV 10 with a layer of OxygenPlay on top. It's a hybrid OS, which means you can operate in either of the two with a click of a button, which is a good addition as a preferential alternative. It offers tons of customisation options, modes and features but thankfully it doesn't make the interface look cluttered or ugly. Even kids and first time smart TV users can navigate through with ease. It offers multiple casting options like Miracast, Chromecast, and DLNA. There's also a seamless Google Assistant support that is accurate and fast, but at times it wakes up even when there's an 'Ok Google' advertisement on the TV. <div type="image" title="OnePlus TV UI." msid="87667205" hostid="261"></div>Other impressive features include the data saver mode, parental control using Connect app, and also screentime monitoring. The OnePlus Connect app not just acts as a remote control but also to play media using the phone. Lastly, the ecosystem that OnePlus is building with its accessories is also promising for the future. For example, those who own a OnePlus Watch can use it as a remote control, also the TV detects the TWS buds and enables quick pair when it's around the TV. However, we expect it to be more intuitive and seamless to call it a valuable addition to the overall experience. Especially, when they're restricted to OnePlus products that might not be the best investment for a user. The performance of the U1S is one area where the affordability of the TV becomes evident. While it did work smoothly initially, it did not keep it consistent over the past three months. It has a Mediatek MT9612 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Instances like switching between OxygenPlay and Android, opening apps like Netflix or Amazon Prime wasn't seamless as it stutters in between the process occasionally. The bezels are minimal, the ports are convenient to reach. It has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, an RF port, an AV port and an optical port. The remote control has a new design, a better build quality and is very ergonomic to use. The power buttons remain embedded in the OnePlus button, which does confuse anyone who uses the TV for the first time, but it's not a deal-breaker.
