Post her breakup with actor Ranbir Kapoor, <keyword id="6354850" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Katrina-Kaif">Katrina Kaif</keyword> has kept a brave front and has not shied away from public appearances, be it for the promotions of the movie or any award shows. The latest appearance has come in the form of a picture with actor <keyword id="1320874" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sidharth-Malhotra">Sidharth Malhotra</keyword>, her co-actor from the upcoming movie <keyword id="3025287" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="baar-baar-dekho">Baar Baar Dekho</keyword>. Apparently, the actor took to his social media accounts to share the selfie that was clicked after the duo wrapped up the shooting of Baar Baar Dekho. 
 
It’s the first time that Kaif and Malhotra would be working in a film together, and they have been shooting for the movie in Thailand since a good few days.

When we heard that <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword> was making a movie based on a family with two brothers, we were reminded of the success that Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was, even though coming to think of it, <keyword id="39101" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="K3G">K3G</keyword> was nothing but an overdramatic run of emotional problems that could have ended with a round table discussion amongst the elders of the family. 
 When we further came to know that Indian heartthrob <keyword id="1320874" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sidharth-Malhotra">Sidharth Malhotra</keyword> would be starring in the movie along with his Pakistani counterpart <keyword id="2358880" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Fawad-Khan">Fawad Khan</keyword>, we breathed a sigh of relief that these two almost of the same age actors won’t be leaving us in tears, sitting on a white bench not once but twice in the movie. 
 When we came to know that <keyword id="6354526" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Alia-Bhatt">Alia Bhatt</keyword> would be the female lead of the movie, we wondered why there were two actors, who were playing real brothers, and one actress in this romantic comedy. However, since Indian cinema is at an experimental stage right now, we thought that it would be better to wait for the trailer before passing any judgement. 
 
Now that the trailer is out, we have only one thing to say, cliché. 
 
The trailer starts with Rahul and Arjun, played by Khan and Malhotra, driving on an empty road in the wee hours of night, with Khan, in his thick Pakistani accent complaining about the driver of another car who is needlessly honking at them. The scene establishes a healthy relation between the two of them. 
 The scene then shifts to <keyword id="51" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajat-Kapoor">Rajat Kapoor</keyword> and <keyword id="20894" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ratna-Pathak-Shah">Ratna Pathak Shah</keyword>, the parents of Rahul and Arjun, who are always locking horns with each other, even in front of their children. Normal for Punjabis, we think and move ahead to Dadu (<keyword id="6357910" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rishi-Kapoor">Rishi Kapoor</keyword>), the quintessential wheelchair bound grandfather of a Punjabi family, well dressed and counting the last and happiest days of his life. 
 
Next scene shows us that even the younger Kapoor lads are at loggerheads with each other, throwing things at each other which if hit the right target, would make them regret their existence for the whole life. Again, this too is normal for Punjabi siblings. 
 
Alia is then introduced as Arjun’s friend and possible love interest, who coincidentally, also knows Rahul from her past. While she has drinks with Arjun and his friends, she is seen calling Rahul hot, and even kissing him (a fake one, of course, given Fawad’s love for his people’s emotions and more than that, his wife back home). 
 
The trailer then gets intense, when it’s clear that love is blossoming in not two but three young hearts, out of which two belong to real brothers, leading to a series of questions, tears and the revelation of Kapoor family having some secrets only they know of. 
The trailer ends with Rishi Kapoor saying that all he wants is a family photo with the title Kapoor &amp; Sons, since 1921. 
 
Overall, the two-and-a-half minute trailer takes us to a Punjabi family with two sons, who both get into a love triangle and question their priorities in life, but we are not impressed. 
 
All the actors of the movie have, time and again, have proved their mettle, and we doubt if they would fail to deliver good performances in the movie, but what we don’t understand is, why weren’t better scenes from the movie chosen for the first trailer of the movie, and why have the audiences been kept in the dark? After all, it’s a romantic comedy drama, and not a suspense thriller that we should be guessing what’s going on in the minds of the actors. 
 
While the actors look promising and the posters look fun, let’s hope that the next trailers of the movie come out well planned, and are able to raise our expectations from the movie, which sadly have been lowered by the first trailer.

Vishal Bhardwaj to make OTT debut with an Agatha Christie adaptation

By Radhika Sharma New Delhi, Apr 27 () Pressing the rewind button to shows that were wholesome, fun and told their stories sans artifice is perhaps the best antidote to the stresses of today when the country is locked in to stave off a pandemic, say some of those who rang in the golden age of TV in the 1980s and 1990s.Shows such as "Khichdi", "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai", "Buniyaad" and "Office Office" are about nostalgia, of course, but are also helping the younger generation discover a gentler India.The lockdown, which began on March 25 and is set to go on till at least May 3, has led to production shutdowns and a freeze on fresh episodes of current TV shows, forcing channels to dig into their archives to bring back old favourites, including the first major TV retelling of the epics, "Ramayan" and "Mahabharat", that have been remade several times since. And it couldn't be timed better, said old-timers like filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, writer-director Asif Kapadia and actors Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. Kapadia, writer-director of "Khichdi" and co-producer of "Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai", said the progressive values of the two shows, both revolving around Gujarati families, make them relevant even today. "Khichdi" is a good natured look at a madcap joint family whose members want to sell their mansion and go their separate ways but stay put because of the patriarch. "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai" revolves around a south Bombay affluent Gujarati family whose members are often at odds with each other."These shows have been a part of many generations. So people get a lot of hope, joy, and laughter. Their return is also giving the audience freedom from the current crop of shows which glorify a regressive mindset," Kapadia told ."After watching 'Sarabhai' or 'Khichdi' with family, people will not feel that something wrong has entered our drawing room. Apart from the comedy and values, they also like the inherent innocence and fun of these shows," he added. The "Sarabhai" trio -- Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Sumeet Raghavan – said they are enjoying revisiting the show in these worrying times.Laughter is the best medicine, Satish Shah said."Just as doctors prescribe antacids with certain amount of medicines, humour too works like an antacid. What else can be better than 'Khichdi' and 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai', which have an eternal shelf life of unadulterated humour?" he asked.Ratna Pathak Shah, who plays Maya Sarabhai, said the shows remind people of happier, simpler, and more innocent times.Asserting that she is not "too much of a fan of nostalgia", the veteran actor said, "But I'm very curious to find what the younger generation is going to say about these programmes. The old and young people who have seen and loved it will enjoy them all over again, I guess. I'm looking forward to hearing some opinions and meanwhile, I'm enjoying 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai'." Raghavan, who plays Sahil, a son caught between his mother and wife's constant bickering, on "Sarabhai" said bringing a blast from the past to comfort audiences is the way to go."Except for the digital platform, there is nothing new to watch on TV because shoots have stalled. So the best thing is to get these iconic shows back on TV. All the shows are available on YouTube or other digital platforms... But television still has its own charm. I feel watching those old shows again brings a smile on our faces which is so important in these times," he said. "Office Office", which was praised for projecting a common person's woes in government offices and tackles important issues in a humorous way, will stay "evergreen", said Kapur who plays the lead role of Mussadilal Tripathi.Its comedy is identifiable. "It has always had a soft spot in my heart because we had a wonderful time working for about four and four-and-half years on this project. The show created social awareness with humour, which is its asset. It'll stay evergreen for years to come because the problems that it talked about are there everywhere. We can talk about it for years," the veteran actor said.Hemant Pandey, who plays the role of Pandeyji, a government employee, on the show, said the show is relatable and relevant, a classic comedy that can never grow old. "In these testing times, families can come together and watch a show that brings happiness," he said."This show will make people nostalgic and also make younger audience experience comedy like never before. I have beautiful memories attached to the show."Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy who directed "Buniyaad", a Partition saga told through the fortunes and misfortunes of the family of a freedom fighter, is happy to see the serial return after over three decades of its airing and hopes the younger generation discovers it now."It has been more than 30 years and the show still has recall value. People remember it even today, they associate it with the Partition. Today's young generation has forgotten all that, it has been more than 70 years. But still, somewhere in families, the stories are there. The younger generation can't look back the same way as the older generation did. But I hope they discover the show now," Sippy said.Actors Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhalia, the original Ram-Sita of Indian TV, believe their show "Ramayan" will bring generations -- old and young -- together as the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic."It is good the show is back, the timing is great for the release as everyone is at home with their family. It is a show meant to be watched with the entire family, the young generation with the old generation," Govil said."It is the right time because the scenes are so gloomy and economically we are bad, at every stage and phase, the world is suffering. However, soon after, the first song of the movie was launched, which made us take notice of the fact that it could actually be a fun film to watch out for. 
 
And now, the makers have ‘gifted’ us with another number, and our choice of words is not exaggerated, because Bolna, the song featuring the 
male cast and sung by Arijit Singh and Asees Kaur will make you fall in love, and confess your feelings to your loved ones as soon as you can. 
 
The song has been picturised on Sidharth-Alia and Fawad-Alia, which makes it a bit awkward to look at, but the dreamy voice of the actors make it worth listening to, again and again. 
 The lyrics are penned by Dr. Devender Kafir, while the composition is by <keyword id="2864780" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tanishk-Bagchi">Tanishk Bagchi</keyword>, and the song can very well turn out to be the love song of the year. 
 
All actors look dreamy, especially Fawad Khan, who outshines Sidharth Malhotra in some scenes, with his heart-winning smile and pensive look. Alia has managed to look cute, as usual, and the song ends with a kiss between Sidharth and Alia, marking the perfect end but forcing you to hit the replay button.
