More specifically, people are raving about part of one verse where Slim Shady begins rapping at what he refers to as "supersonic speed." 
The lyrics are really tough to make out.

What's so impressive is that Eminem spits these ten lines of lyrics - 97 words - in 15 seconds. 
That means he's averaging six and a half words per second. 
Insane.

Shortly after the news broke, Mason published an amusing goodbye letter to his colleagues.
While some of it was straight forward ("I've decided that I'd like to spend more time with my family. Just kidding - I was fired today"), other parts were vague.
Tech investor <a href="http://rapgenius.com/Andrew-mason-groupon-farewell-memo-lyrics#note-1548039">Marc Andreessen took to RapGenius</a>, a startup his VC firm invested in, to uncover the hidden meaning behind Mason's farewell memo.
Here's what Andreessen thinks Mason really meant, but didn't directly say (his comments are in red, Mason's original letter is in black).
People of Groupon, After four and a half intense and wonderful years as CEO of Groupon, I've decided that I'd like to spend more time with my family. Just kidding - I was fired today. [Andreessen: "Over the last 20 years it has become customary in business for executives to claim to be “resigning to spend more time with my family” when they have actually been fired. It has become such a cliche that it is now a sort of running joke in corporate-speak. (The additional subtext to the joke is that most executives are not liked by their families, who would prefer that they not spend more time at home and try to get them into a new job as quickly as possible.)"]
If you're wondering why... you haven't been paying attention. From controversial metrics in our S1 to our material weakness to two quarters of missing our own expectations and a stock price that's hovering around one quarter of our listing price, the events of the last year and a half speak for themselves. As CEO, I am accountable. [Andreessen: "Andrew is referring to the use of non-standard financial metrics in the company’s SEC filings, particularly in the IPO filing (S1). As someone who was in the room as an observer at the Groupon board when the decision to use these metrics was made, I think Groupon was honestly trying to provide additional information that investors would find useful, which mirrored the way management thought about running the business. However, no good deed goes unpunished, and widespread media paranoia about business metrics still lingering from the 2000 dot com crash combined with other missteps on Groupon’s part combined to make the use of those non-standard metrics highly controversial and ultimately negative for the company."]
You are doing amazing things at Groupon, and you deserve the outside world to give you a second chance. I'm getting in the way of that. A fresh CEO earns you that chance. The board is aligned behind the strategy we've shared over the last few months, and I've never seen you working together more effectively as a global company - it's time to give Groupon a relief valve from the public noise. [Andreessen: "At one point, Groupon was sort of two companies in one — the US operation that was built and run by a team of executives recruited by Andrew, and the international operation that resulted from an acquisition of a company founded by the famous Samwer brothers. The Samwers enjoyed broad autonomy to run the international operations largely separately from the US operations for several quarters. In the last year, one of Andrew’s big challenges was to integrate the US and international operations into a single global business."]
For those who are concerned about me, please don't be - I love Groupon, and I'm terribly proud of what we've created. I'm OK with having failed at this part of the journey. [Andreessen: "This is probably the one disingenuous note in the entire letter. (Versus resignation letters from most other CEOs which would be 100% disingenuous.) However, the underlying truth is that the creation and growth of the company under Andrew as CEO from inception through last year was a miracle of accomplishment."]
If Groupon was Battletoads, it would be like I made it all the way to the Terra Tubes without dying on my first ever play through. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to take the company this far with all of you. I'll now take some time to decompress (FYI I'm looking for a good fat camp to lose my Groupon 40, if anyone has a suggestion), and then maybe I'll figure out how to channel this experience into something productive.
If there's one piece of wisdom that this simple pilgrim would like to impart upon you: have the courage to start with the customer. My biggest regrets are the moments that I let a lack of data override my intuition on what's best for our customers. This leadership change gives you some breathing room to break bad habits and deliver sustainable customer happiness - don't waste the opportunity!

The Hidden Meaning Behind Andrew Mason's Charming Goodbye Letter To Groupon

Last month, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-rap-genius-2013-12">Google caught Rap Genius seeding other web pages</a> with links to its site - a no-no in the search engine business. Google only wants to see natural "organic" links from sites pointing their users to useful content.
So Google has dinged Rap Genius from its search results pages. The punishment does not just extend to RapGenius.com. It <a href="http://searchengineland.com/googles-rap-genius-penalty-results-in-huge-traffic-declines-for-the-lyrics-site-180857">covers the site's internal pages for individual songs and bands, too, according to SEO Land</a>. It is almost impossible to find Rap Genius on Google now. Google Began The New Year By Continuing Its Brutal Punishment Of Rap Genius

It's part of an enormous rebrand for the website and the company, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-inside-story-of-how-rap-genius-fired-a-cofounder--and-just-raised-40-million-annotated-2014-7#/">which parted ways with cofounder Mahbod Moghadam</a> in May <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/rap-genius-comments-on-elliot-rodger-memoir-2014-5">after he annotated the memoir of UCSB shooter Elliot Rodger</a> with a string of bizarre, insensitive comments. 
To test out its idea, the startup launched several channels, including Rock Genius, News Genius, and Poetry Genius. In addition, Genius made their features embeddable-annotated texts can now be placed on other websites, increasing Rap Genius's reach to people who wouldn't necessarily visit the startup's website.
Today, Genius is for "<a href="http://meta.genius.com/Genius-about-genius-annotated">the crowdsourced annotation of music, news, literature, history, and just about any other text you could imagine</a>," according to its site. Noting that "every text is made more understandable, and interesting, by our shared attention," the site defines its goal as nothing less than creating "the world's greatest public knowledge project."
Ben Horowitz, who invested $15 million early on in Rap Genius's development, calls Genius the digital equivalent of the Talmud, the biblical commentary produced by rabbis. The Talmud is thought to ostensibly have had more influence on modern society than even the Bible, which speaks to the power of annotation.

Startup 2013: Now Accepting Bitcoin

Google is now displaying song lyrics directly at the top of its search results with links to the Google Play store, <a href="https://www.seroundtable.com/google-lyrics-19613.html">as first noticed by SeroundTable</a>. If you search for the name of the song plus the word "lyrics," there's a chance the first several verses will pop up automatically.&#xa0;
Here's what it looks like:

This move makes sense for Google. The has been steadily increasing the amount of information it lets users see on its page without having to click a third-party link. If you search for a proper noun, like, for example, Pink Floyd, Google pulls a bunch of information from Wikipedia, the World CIA Factbook, and other sites to give you some basic information about it.&#xa0;
For Google, this will drive traffic to the Play Store and it will make finding information as quick and seamless as possible (one of Google's self-professed goals).&#xa0;
It could also wreak havoc for song lyrics sites like Genius (formerly RapGenius), the well-funded lyrics and document annotation startup, as well as a bunch of long-standing lyrics sites like AZLyrics.com and SongLyrics.com.
A lot of these older lyrics sites are plagued with really intrusive pop-ups and other kinds of ads, so it's a win for users as well.&#xa0;
It's unclear how broad this rollout is, though. For example, we couldn't find lyrics for Brittney Spears, Bright Eyes, or Van Morrison. We did find lyrics to a few Fleetwood Mac songs. &#xa0;
Tom Lehman, Genius cofounder, told Business Insider via email that he thinks Google is&#xa0;ranking its own product above one that's better for the user though, since Genius has more in-depth information and analysis. However, he concedes, it's nice that Google's page is&#xa0;free of advertisements.
"Overall we're happy to see Google take an interest in improving lyrics online," he writes, "And we'd love to collaborate with them to create the best lyric experience the Internet has ever seen."

If you do, he will adamantly respond that, although he made a contribution, he was certainly not responsible.
In fact, he's quite happy that his buddy Marc Andreessen has wound up with all the credit for the browser that started it all, Mosaic, and the eventual company, Netscape, that helped turn the Internet into the major thing it is today.
Andreessen, on the other hand, happily names Bina as the true genius behind Mosaic. In a note on Rapgenius, <a href="http://news.rapgenius.com/Marc-andreessen-why-andreessen-horowitz-is-investing-in-rap-genius-annotated#note-1105127">Andreessen wrote: </a>
A lot of people don't realize that Eric did all the hard programming on Mosaic. As far as I know, the entire time he only ate Skittles and Mountain Dew!
Yet, despite Bina's protests, and the fact that he has retreated from public life (no interviews, no tech conference speeches, no personal blog) the world insists on honoring him. Just last month, he was inducted into the <a href="http://www.internethalloffame.org/inductees/eric-bina">Internet Hall of Fame</a>. A few years before that, he was inducted into the University of Illinois Engineering Hall of Fame, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Bina">among other accolades. </a>
He found out about this latest honor only after the 2014 inductees were announced.
"I got a tweet one day, and that's how I found out I was inducted into Hall of Fame," he told Business Insider, granting us a rare interview.
Nevertheless, he's reluctant to stand up and take a bow for a number of reasons:
1. He says it was Andreessen's drive who turned Netscape and the browser into the success it was. 
"Marc is much more responsible than me for the way things happened. Marc is a strong driving force for changing the world. He is clearly driven to do that. We were friends. We worked together. He's a fun guy and I had fun working with him, but on my own I don't feel driven to change anything but my own situation," he told us.
2. He says Tim Berners-Lee deserves all the limelight and more for inventing the Web.
"One obvious thing, the web browser was invented by Tim Berner's Lee. He wrote the first web browser, and the guy doesn't get nearly enough credit," Bina told us.
3. Bina is also convinced that the web browser and web would have happened without him.
"We popularized the web browser and we helped popularize the web but there were other web browsers, besides ours, like Tim's ViolaWWW, and the MidasWWW web browser. Due to issues in the way they were written and distributed, they didn't become popular and ours did," he said.
"To say we're wonderful for inventing it is wrong. To say we made significant contributions is accurate. But there were a number of people coming up with similar things. If it hadn't been us, it would have happened anyway," he says.
But it was him, Andreessen and Netscape that succeeded, and not just because of luck. The Mosaic browser worked great and Netscape had the brilliant idea of giving it away for free. Giving software away for free to build a user base was a radical new idea in those days.
The free browser encouraged businesses to buy software to create websites. And here we are today.
As for Bina, he's always been happy to remain in the shadows. The title on his card at Netscape was "unsung hero," and a couple of decades later, he prefers to remain that way.Disclosure: Marc Andreessen is an investor in Business Insider.
