The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ayodhya&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Ayodhya </a>dispute to yet to settle down but one thing is coming up for sure in the holy city-Ramayana museum. 
 
Yes, Hindu hardliner and newly appointed <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=yogi+adityanath&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath</a> did not surprise anyone with his move as he cleared 20 acres of land for construction of Ramayana museum in Ayodhya. The proposal had come up during previous<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=akhilesh+yadav&amp;sortorder=effectivedate"> Akhilesh </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=akhilesh+yadav&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Yadav</a>-led UP government, but was rejected. 
 As per various reports, the Ramayana museum in Ayodhya will cost Rs 154 crore and will be a part of the <keyword id="980432" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ramayana-circuit">Ramayana Circuit</keyword> for which the Modi government has sanctioned Rs 225 crore, with Rs 151 crore exclusively for Ayodhya, which is the hub of the circuit. 
 
The move to build a museum also comes after the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=supreme+court&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Supreme Court</a> advised an out of court settlement for Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. 
 
The Modi government had increased the Ramayana museum grant from Rs. 175 crore to Rs. 225 crore so that a state of the art museum can come up in the ancient town celebrated in Hindu epics as the seat of Lord Rama’s birthplace and kingdom. 
Sources told Times Now the formalities will be completed within the next seven to ten days. 
 
The Government is planning to complete the construction of the Ramayana museum within 18 months. 
 The decision to build the museum had triggered a fierce political battle then, with the <keyword id="6354265" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="samajwadi-party">Samajwadi Party</keyword> simultaneously announcing that it will construct a Ramlila Park in Ayodhya.

The politically charged town of <keyword id="6354931" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ayodhya">Ayodhya</keyword> in Uttar Pradesh would have a state of-the-art Ram museum to promote <keyword id="6363500" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="ramayana">Ramayana</keyword>. <keyword id="6358079" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tourism-Minister">Tourism Minister</keyword> <keyword id="210147" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mahesh-Sharma">Mahesh Sharma</keyword> told the Economic Times that the <keyword id="6360789" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Modi-Government">Modi government</keyword> is coming up with the museum, which would be part of the proposed 'Ramayana circuit'. Fortunately, the ‘disputed site’, the reason for all the battles, would not be touched by the project. "This will be an exclusive museum which will be part of a larger holistic plan. The idea is to depict the mahima (grandeur) of <keyword id="353792" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Lord-Ram">Lord Ram</keyword> and Ramayana," Sharma said. "It is on high priority and the scale will depend on funds available. We will do this next year." The museum would be build on the model of the Swaminarayan <keyword id="76721" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Akshardham-Temple">Akshardham temple</keyword> in Delhi - which features a sound and light show, boat ride and a film on Swaminarayan - and house archaeological material related to the deity. 

	The minister said work would soon begin on the detailed project report. 
 

	In order to again turn Ayodhya into a major cultural hub, the Modi government plans to develop all sites related to Lord Ram in and around the town.. When asked about the political ramifications, the minister said that the museum may reach the state of completion in 2017, a time when UP elections are due. He added, "Tourism we can develop. We are not saying we are going to make a Ram mandir there."
 

	The tourism minister further stated that the government is already working on a chain of five circuits. "For every year we will declare a different circuit. Ramayana circuit will start with the centre somewhere in Ayodhya and Chitrakoot and definitely we go to Makohda in Basti, then Janaki kund in Unnao and nearby areas and places relevant to the life of Ram...that is our idea," he said. 
 

	The Centre would also host what it calls are cultural activities revolving around Ram and Ramayana at events abroad, including festivals and travel marts. According to officials of the Tourism Ministry, the government has already asked Uttar Pradesh to send a proposal for the project under the Centre's Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme. 
 

	"We have requested the state government to develop the proposal under the PRASAD scheme. Cost estimates are open-ended as of now and depend on the outline and scale of the proposal. This is actually an inter-state project as well so we will talk to other states as well," Tourism Secretary Lalit Pawar said. Rakesh Tiwari, director-general of Archaeological Survey of India (<keyword id="46215" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="ASI">ASI</keyword>), said that discussions on the Ramayana circuit are still at a preliminary stage and the ASI would help the tourism ministry with all related inputs. 

	"We will help develop the circuit in whichever way the government asks us to. Cultural bodies are also going to be roped in to bring alive the folklore and legends associated with Ramayana," said Tiwari.

The movie, based on the mythological epic Ramayana, is expected to bring in opening day collections of ₹50-60 crore for the dubbed versions. The Hindi original is also expected to clock in ₹20 crore, predicts a research report by Elara Capital. As <a href="https://www.dnaindia.com/bollywood/report-adipurush-overseas-advance-booking-bulldozes-past-rs-6-crore-mark-prabhas-om-raut-kriti-sanon-saif-ali-khan-3047559">per media reports</a>, its advance bookings have been creating buzz, especially in overseas markets like Canada and Australia. If it’s able to manage a good opening, this big budget movie will be able to breach the ₹350- crore lifetime earnings mark – unlike Prabhas’ earlier movies Saaho and Radhe Shyam whose collections at ₹280 crore and ₹150 crore, respectively, were way below expectations “The film may surpass our estimates based on good content and word-of-mouth. Ticket prices are expected to be premium, around 20% higher than the average ticket prices on a pan-India level,” says Karan Taurani and Rounak Roy of Elara Capital. Adipurush will be released across India on June 16 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, and is directed by Om Raut who had delivered the superhit movie, Tanaji. Small budget films not bringing in the moolah In spite of a few recent hits like Pathaan, The Kerala Story, Kantara and more, movie theatres have been struggling to bring back footfalls to match the pre-Covid levels. “Small and medium budget films continue to struggle as frequency of content becoming successful has dropped sharply in the North and South circuits,” the research report from Elara, which tracks PVR, says. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan's latest release Zara Hatke Zara Bachke has minted ₹37.4 crore in its first week, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The movie, directed by Laxman Utekar, saw a decent opening, garnering ₹5.49 crore on the first day of its release. In spite of the positive surprise that the movie delivered, Elara believes that the momentum was driven by the Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGO) offer. It reduces distributor-producer share to approximately 30% from 50% earlier. “It makes film production economics unviable; while it is a good promotional activity to propel audiences back into the cinema halls to drive frequency, good and consistent content is the only big driver for improved occupancy levels,” say Taurani and Roy in their note. A slow start to FY24 The first quarter of FY24 has gotten off to a slow start in terms of box office, with no surprises except for The Kerala Story and Hollywood movie, Fast X. Hindi film box office collections for the first quarter are expected to be 20% lower than what they were pre-Covid. As compared to the same quarter last year, the drop is expected to be sharper at 30%, the research firm predicts. For context, the same time last year had hit movies like Rajamouli’s RRR, Karthik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Yash’s KGF 2. The second quarter of FY24 is expected to see many big movie releases like Karthik Aryan’s Satyaprem, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Ranveer Singh’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. “Q2FY24 may be the best quarter even if half of these films report a healthy box office collection. Woes persist for exhibitors as Hindi content recovery is important to drive advertising growth, which remains under pressure,” the Elara report opines. The number of Hindi films lined up for release however remains lower than pre-Covid levels — by 30-35%.

Adipurush’s opening box office collection projections show Prabhas is back

New Delhi, The Indian Railways plans to reintroduce the Ramayana Circuit tours in March this year during Navratras with five air conditioned (AC) coaches, which will cover places associated with Lord Ram as mentioned in the epic Ramayana, after its successful run last year. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said that the Ramayana Express will run this year during the Navratras from March 28. The IRCTC in a statement said that the special train will have 10 coaches which include five sleeper class non-AC coaches and five AC 3 tier coaches. Last year, the national transporter had run Ramayana Express with only sleeper class coaches which was a huge success and the response of the general public was so tremendous that all the available seats were booked in merely seven days' time. "Considering the previous response IRCTC Ltd has decided to launch this unique product in which some AC 3 tier coaches have also been added in addition to Sleeper class coaches," the IRCTC said. According to the IRCTC, the special train will start its journey from Delhi on March 28 and passengers can board this train from Safdarjung, <keyword id="44991" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ghaziabad">Ghaziabad</keyword>, Moradabad, Bareily and Lucknow stations. The train covers important destinations connected with the life of Lord Ram in India and Sri Lanka. While the Indian leg will be covered by train, the Sri Lankan tour will be undertaken by flight from Chennai. The IRCTC said that in the 16 night-17 day tour, tourists will be visiting the places associated with Lord Ram also known as 'Ramayana Circuit of India'. "Major places covered in this journey are Ram Janmabhoomi and Hanuman Garhi at Ayodhya, Bharat <keyword id="47393" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mandir">Mandir</keyword> at Nandigram, Sita Mata Mandir at Sitamarhi (Bihar), and Janakpur (Nepal), <keyword id="491219" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tulsi-Manas">Tulsi Manas</keyword> Mandir and Sankat Mochan Mandir at Varanasi, <keyword id="7442403" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="sita-samahit-sthal">Sita Samahit Sthal</keyword> at Sitamarhi (UP), Triveni Sangam , Hanuman Mandir and Bharadwaj Ashram at Prayag, Shringi Rishi Mandir at <keyword id="122671" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shringverpur">Shringverpur</keyword> , Ramghat and Sati Anusuiya Mandir at Chitrakoot, Panchvati at Nasik, Anjanadri Hill and Hanuman Janm Sthal at Hampi &amp; Jyotirlinga Shiva Mandir at Rameshwaram," it said. In Sri Lanka, they will visit Sita Mata Mandir, Ashok Vatika, Vibhishana Temple and Shiva Temple at Munneshwaram-Munnavari among other sites. According to IRCTC, the Indian leg of the journey in the sleeper class will cost Rs 16,065 per person whereas for the AC class Rs 26,775 per person will be charged. And those going to Sri Lanka will have to pay Rs 37,800 per person with only 40 limited seats. The passengers willing to travel to Sri Lanka will be required to de-board the Ramayana Express on 15th day at Chennai on April 11 and from there they will be taken by flight to Colombo. According to IRCTC, there are 360 berths in sleeper class and 330 berths in AC 3 tier class. Considering Navratra period, all the food to be served to the travellers will be cooked without onions and garlic.

India receives less than one per cent <keyword id="608308" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="international-tourists">international tourists</keyword> annually and their average stay in the country has come down by two days, Tourism Minister <keyword id="210147" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mahesh-Sharma">Mahesh Sharma</keyword> said in today. Replying a question in <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword>, Sharma said India received just 0.68 per cent of the world tourists every year and efforts have been made to attract more and more international tourists to the country. 

	"Various initiatives have been taken by the government to attract more foreign tourists that include e-tourist visa, providing financial assistance to state governments launching 12 theme based tourist circuits," he said during question hour.
 

	The Minister said in 2011-12, on an average foreign tourists in India used to stay 20-22 days at a stretch which has come down to 18-20 days now.
 Sharma said Tourisim Ministry has launched a new scheme '<keyword id="2964753" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Swadesh-Darshan">Swadesh Darshan</keyword>' for development of theme-based tourist circuits in a way that caters to both mass and niche tourism in a holistic manner. 

	The 12 circuits are North-East India circuit, Buddhist circuit, Himalayan circuit, Coastal circuit, Krishna circuit, Desert circuit, Tribal circuit, Eco circuit, Wildlife circuit, Rural circuit, Spiritual circuit and Ramayana circuit.
 

	"A series of promotional activities are being undertaken in tourist generating markets overseas through the India Tourism Offices abroad with the objective of showcasing India's tourism potential and promoting tourism to the country," he said.
 

	These promotional activities include participation in travel fairs and exhibitions, organising road shows, Know India seminars and workshops, organising and supporting Indian food and cultural festivals, publication of brochures, offering joint advertising and brochure support and inviting media personalities, tour operators and opinion makers to visit the country under the hospitality programme of the Ministry, he said.
