External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said the ceremony will also be attended by Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Myanmar President U Win Myint, Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and Bhutan’s Prime Minister Lotay Tshering. Thailand will be represented by its Special Enovy Grisada Boonrach. According to media reports, PM Narendra Modi is likely to hold bilateral meetings with several international leaders on the following day. India has also invited the IMF Managing Director and Chairman Christine Lagarde, sources told IANS.

It was President Ram Nath Kovind who took the lead as he inaugurated the proceedings for the new Parliament session. “ Large scale investments have been made to strengthen rural India. New Delhi, Jan 31 () President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday said fundamentals of the country's economy are strong and all out efforts are being made to make India a USD 5 trillion economy.
Addressing a joint sitting of the Parliament, the President said that foreign exchange reserves were at a record high and the FDI inflow was on the rise.
 "... government is committed to attaining the goal of making India
a USD 5 trillion economy. Towards this objective, government is
making efforts at all levels of the economy in consultation with all
stakeholders," he said. 
 In spite of global challenges, Kovind said the fundamentals of Indian economy are strong. "Our foreign exchange reserves have reached a historical high of over USD 450 billion," he added.
 Inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country is also on the rise. Compared to last year, the FDI has increased by USD 3 billion between April and October this year. CS

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind have congratulated the young athlete, along with cricketers like Rishabh Pant and Sachin Tendulkar. This 19-year-old from Assam, has been a professional sprinter for the last two years. However, July has been her best month ever.
