One of the primary reasons for the increase in Ram’s wealth was a sudden spike in all Indian chemical stocks. The Indian doctor who became a billionaire Arvind Lal is a doctor who heads the $174 million Dr Lal Path Labs. The share price of Dr. Lal Path Labs jumped by 14% between March 30 and June 10 after the Indian government allowed <keyword id="1349548" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="private-labs">private labs</keyword> to conduct coronavirus tests in March. However, despite offering the coronavirus test at large, Lal’s company could end up making only small gains from it. According to Forbes, these COVID-19 tests will not “contribute in a big way” to the revenues of the company as the government has fixed the price of a test at ₹4,500. Dr. Lal Path Labs was founded in 1949 by S.K Lal, Arvind Lal’s father. Lal inherited the diagnostics lab from his family when he was 28 years old. The chain of diagnostics lab made its Initial Public Offering in 2015 and has witnessed a 79% increase in its share price since then. Five DU colleges were among the top 10 colleges in the rankings with Miranda House bagging the top honours for the fourth consecutive time, followed by Lady Shri Ram and Hindu College. A total of 3,771 unique institutions had offered themselves for the "Overall", category-specific or domain-specific rankings for the India Rankings 2020. Mahindra Group Chairman <keyword id="46425" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Anand-Mahindra">Anand Mahindra</keyword> has invested USD 1 million (about Rs 7.5 crore) in Gurugram-based Hapramp -- a startup working on <keyword id="28128" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Technologies">technologies</keyword> like blockchain and social media. The startup was founded in 2018 by five students of Indian Institute of Information Technology-Vadodara. "Took 2 yrs, but I finally found the start-up I was looking for! @Hapramp is indigenous, built by 5 young founders &amp; brings together a best-in-class combination of creativity, technology &amp; data protection. Look out for @gosocial_app their social networking platform," Mahindra tweeted on Wednesday. In 2018, Mahindra had announced via Twitter a funding opportunity for an Indian social media startup that met certain criteria. He had asked ex-Mahindra executive, Jaspreet Bindra to work with him to find a next-gen Indian social network start-up. "The Hapramp team is building a Web 3.0 social network. It is built on emerging digital technologies, has a solid business model which rewards content creators, protects personal data, and best of all, is built here locally in India," Bindra said. He has been signed on as Executive Advisor and Mentor to the Hapramp founding team. Hapramp has been incubated through its early days by Huddle, a sector-agnostic incubator that is based in Gurugram. It has also invested in Hapramp. In addition to its flagship social networking solution <keyword id="9376913" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="gosocial">GoSocial</keyword>, Hapramp also operates 1Ramp.io, a social media platform powered by Steem Blockchain, and Asteria Protocol. Asteria Protocol will help platforms to privately and securely treat public data. "We are honoured and excited. This is a massive approval of our mission to give creators the right to their content. We plan to use the funds to expand our platform and want to empower creators," Hapramp co-founder and <keyword id="9376924" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ceo-shubhendra-vikram">CEO Shubhendra Vikram</keyword> told . He, however, declined to comment on the valuation. Talking about GoSocial, Vikram said the platform has aleady garnered 50,000 users in less than three months. It allows users to take creative challenges designed by photographers, artists, writers, and designers and get rewarded. He added that the current focus is on building userbase and monetisation will happen eventually. The app is available on Google Play Store and will soon be available on <keyword id="481401" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Apple-App-Store">Apple App Store</keyword> as well. "We are targeting one lakh users in the next three months and 10 lakh by the end of the year in India. We also plan to take the platform to South East Asian countries, we will look at that around October," he said. The startup has 12 employees. The founders are based in Gurugram, while the staff is located across the country. "We will continue to operate a lean team but we are looking at hiring. By end of the year, we should be at 25-30 people," Vikram said. Anand Mahindra invests $1 million in Gurugram-based startup Hapramp

Admission cut-offs for <keyword id="6360099" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Delhi-University">Delhi University</keyword>'s undergraduate courses soared high as colleges released the first list. For BSc computer science, the cut-off was 100% in at least three colleges — Acharya Narendra Dev (95-100), Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm (98-100) and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (97-100). 
 
The high cut-offs are attributed to long uncertainty over the number of applicants due the abrupt scrapping of the four-year-undergraduate programme. 
 Except courses like Sanskrit, Hindi or Anthropology, cut-offs for popular courses were above 93% aggregate in best of four. The cut-off for computer science course at <keyword id="674173" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Acharya-Narendra-Dev-College">Acharya Narendra Dev College</keyword> stood at 100% aggregate this year too. 
 
The cut-offs released by the colleges also contain some additional criteria and aspirants need to carefully analyse them. Just making the cut-off may not be enough for getting admission. 
 Off-campus colleges played it safe as they may not see much action during the first round of admissions. For example, <keyword id="114895" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zakir-Husain-College">Zakir Husain College</keyword> increased its cut-off from 70% in 2012 to 90% this year for English while Ram Lal Anand (evening) lifted the bar for its BA programme by 20 percentage points at 85%. 
 
"We are aware that these are pretty high cut-offs. But colleges have to be careful because there has been no registration for programme courses and there is reduction in the seats for honours courses (as compared to FYUP). Once students come for registration and we have more data, we can work on more realistic cut-offs. We have the liberty as there will be seven more lists to fall back on," said the principal of a south campus college.
