<ul><li>"Action has been initiated" against <keyword id="8181189" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pakistani-drones-smuggling-arms">Pakistani drones smuggling arms</keyword> and ammunition into India, said <keyword id="15141" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Air-Force">Indian Air Force</keyword> (IAF) Chief — Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria. </li><li>He stated that the drone smuggling is a space violation issue and the necessary steps will be taken. </li><li>Three consignments of weapons, ammunition, narcotics and counterfeit currency were seized by the Punjab police in September. </li></ul>Drones smuggling arms and ammunition across the border is the new threat that India faces from its neighbour Pakistan, according to the new Indian Air Force (IAF) chief — Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria. "Small drones are a new threat and some procurements are already in process to tackle the issue. It is a space violation issue and necessary action has been initiated in this aspect," stated Bhadauria at the annual Air Force Day press conference. The heightened security on the Indo-Pak border means that terrorists have had to shift their smuggling routes to Punjab to deliver weapons, ammunition, narcotics and counterfeit currency. So far, three such consignments have been caught by the Punjab police.  Inquiry by the <keyword id="6362387" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="national-investigation-agency">National Investigation Agency</keyword> (NIA) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is already looking into the multiple cases of drones being used by Pakistan to smuggle arms into India. According to Pakistani Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, these drones are GPS-enabled and can carry upto 10 kilograms. The first consignment was caught on 12 September 2019 where the police seized four AK 56 rifles, two AK 47 rifles with 180 rounds, six magazines and 11,000 bullets. The second consignment was much larger. On 22 September 2019, the police recovered five AK 47 rifles with 16 magazines and 472 rounds, four Chinese-made point 30 bore pistols with eight magazines and 72 rounds, nine hand grenades, five satellite phones, two mobile phones and two wireless sets along with ₹1 million (₹10 lakh) in counterfeit currency. They were found in the possession of KZF terrorists. The latest consignment which was seized on 24 September 2019, consisted of four AK 47 rifles, 10 magazines and 200 cartridges. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has submitted its initial probe report on the Levana Suites hotel fire, recommending action against 22 engineers and zonal officers for allegedly conniving with the builder and turning a blind eye to illegal construction activity. The building now faces demolition since it was illegally constructed. The fire on Monday left four people dead, while seven others suffered burn injuries. The LDA has also lodged an FIR at the Hazratganj police station against <keyword id="14907942" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mukesh-jasnani" source="Orion">Mukesh Jasnani</keyword> of M/S Bansal Construction and his partners for carrying out commercial activity of running a hotel on a residential plot. LDA Vice-Chairman Indramani Tripathi constituted the probe committee headed by the Authoritiy's Secretary <keyword id="3246340" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="pawan-kumar-gangwar" source="Orion">Pawan Kumar Gangwar</keyword> to fix accountability for the incident and the report was submitted late on Monday night. 22 engineers, officers found guilty in Lucknow hotel fire probe

In a shocking turn of events, Mathura Police has arrested a first-year undergraduate student of BBA with 160 <keyword id="74492" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Fake-passports">fake passports</keyword>. Most of these passports were of Arab countries. The cops are suspecting a whole racket of fake passports, being operated from his PG room. 
 
The name of the accused is Vikas Kumar, and he belongs to Gopalganj in Bihar. According to Mathura SSP Rakesh Singh, he was arrested from his PG room once his landlord alerted cops after being suspicious of his activities. 
 
"Kumar was allotted a college hostel room, but the college administration threw him out of the hostel after finding his activities suspicious. He shifted from there and took up a PG accommodation but there too the owners found his behaviour very strange as he used to change the lock of his room every alternate day. He never contacted or talked to anyone and preferred stay inside his room," the SSP told TOI. 
 
After getting the complaint from the landlord, a police team raided his room where they found 160-odd passports both from India and Arab countries. They also recovered some job certificates and interim visa applications, along with a laptop, several mobile phones and SIM cards. 
Most of these passports belonged to people who want jobs in Arab countries, many of them in Iraq and Dubai. 
 
"Kumar earlier worked with a travel agency in New Delhi. We suspect that he runs a fake job racket. He used to monitor job vacancies in Arab countries, get fake passports made of Indian people, get them fake job experience certificates along with visa and other documents. He earned money from both companies and applicants in this manner," Singh added. 
 
The police team and IB want to know the names of the people involved in this racket, as it’s not possible to run such a huge business all alone. He would be further interrogated in custody so that the matter can be solved.

Of this, as many as 7,399 posts are for the commissioned ranks, as per data from January 2019, <a href="http://pib.nic.in/PressReleseDetail.aspx?PRID=1575742">according to PIB press release</a>. “Various reasons including accretions of posts from time to time, tough selection procedures, difficult service conditions coupled with perceived high risk involved in the services career and limitation in number that can be trained are responsible for the situation,” the minister said responding to a question by Shri Rakesh Sinhain of the Upper House, Rajya Sabha. The Army has conducted over 200 recruitment camps across the country, in the last three years. In 2019, 13 recruitment camps have been set up as of date and 80 are in the pipeline. “Recruitment in the army is a continuous process and vacancies are filled without compromising the quality of training,” <a href="http://pib.nic.in/PressReleseDetail.aspx?PRID=1575742">Rajnath Singh said</a>. To fill these posts and attract the right kind of candidates, the Defence ministry has also been spending on publicity to inspire youth to join the forces. In 2016-17, the ministry spent ₹37.887 million for publicity, whereas in 2017-18 is dipped down to ₹19.947 million. The publicity expenditure for 2018-19 was ₹21.619 million.
