That Entered Rs 100 Crore Club In 2013

The Hrithik Roshan-starrer was released on November 1 and noted critic-trade analyst <keyword id="107593" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Taran-Adarsh">Taran Adarsh</keyword> broke the news on Twitter. “#Krrish3 hits a ton. Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark on Mon. Fri to Mon: ₹ 108.61 cr,” his <keyword id="6354904" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="tweet">tweet</keyword> said. But there’s yet another record. The flick has registered the highest collections ever on a single day – Rs 35.91 crore on Monday, November 4. 
 
And still there’s more. Adarsh’s latest tweet says: It’s a rocking Tuesday! #Krrish3 is on a record-smashing spree. Collects ₹ 26.26 cr. Total: ₹ 134.87 cr. AWESOME. 
 According to <keyword id="175999" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="producer-director">producer-director</keyword> <keyword id="1989" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rakesh-Roshan">Rakesh Roshan</keyword> (Hrithik’s dad), by Monday, the film has collected Rs 108.6 crore in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions across 4,450 screens, an Economic Times report said. The rest of the trade contradicted the numbers, though, pegging it between Rs 85 crore and Rs 93 crore. 
 
 
 Has Krrish 3 got the better of <keyword id="1671" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shah-Rukh-Khan">Shah Rukh Khan</keyword>’s Chennai Express, which has reportedly entered the Rs 100 crore club in fastest time – again in 4 days. We are not sure at this point of time, but the third movie in the Krrish series has definitely bombed the <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword> after Chennai Express. 
 Papa Roshan’s dream flick stars ‘beta’ Hrithik, <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>, Kangana Ranaut and <keyword id="13902" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vivek-Oberoi">Vivek Oberoi</keyword> (he played the villain Kaal). The superhero sci-fi drama was made at a budget of about Rs 100-150 crore. It was sold at Rs 70 crore to some 9 domestic distributors, with another Rs 18 crore coming in from overseas rights (570 screens). Krrish 3 also struck a <keyword id="6358065" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Satellite">satellite</keyword> deal with Sony for about Rs 37 crore and sold its music for Rs 7 crore to T Series, ET reported. 
 Interestingly, it is Hrithik’s second and Priyanka’s fourth film to cross the 100-crore mark. Again, Krrish 3 is Vivek’s second success after the adult comedy Grand Masti. As one critic said, it’s definitely a bumper Diwali gift for all – actors, director-producer, audience and the ubiquitous movie industry called <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>.

The trailer failed to create a stir. But then, it’s a relatively small-budget movie and it doesn’t look like a big deal to recover the money, considering Kareena is in the lead role. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, the movie features the superstar in the role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azaad. Critics and audiences are praising the film for being an impressive blend of high-octane stunts and a politically charged narrative with a strong emotional core. "Karan Arjun" (1995) - The story revolves around the titular brothers, who are reincarnated years later to avenge their father's murder at the hands of their property-hungry uncle. The actor reprised the titular character in its 2011 sequel "Don 2". 5. "Om Shanti Om" (2007) - Another reincarnation drama, but with an ode to the Hindi cinema of the 1970s and 1980s. Shah Rukh played Om Prakash Makhija, a junior film artist in the '70s era who dreams to become a superstar one day. Om is reincarnated as superstar Om Kapoor, who sets out to avenge the murder of the love of his life, actor Shantipriya. The Farah Khan directorial also marked the Bollywood debut of Deepika Padukone, who also starred in the dual roles of Shantipriya and Sandy. 6. "Ra.One" (2011) - It may have been dubbed as a failure at the box office, but this Anubhav Sinha-directed movie has gained cult status over the years. Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik’s father, is going to produce this film, which will go on floors after Hrithik completes shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s <keyword id="1235110" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mohenjo-Daro">Mohenjo Daro</keyword>.
