 The soldiers of the <keyword id="3220561" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="35th-Infantry-Regiment">35th Infantry Regiment</keyword>, which was deployed in <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> between 1781 and 1784, was led by Lieutenant Colonel Paul Bury. 
 French President <keyword id="715206" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Francois-Hollande">Francois Hollande</keyword> is the chief guest for Republic Day parade. 
 The French contingent marched on the Rajpath and they followed Lt. Gen. Rajan Ravindran, General Officer Commanding, <keyword id="66" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword> Area. They were preceded by a band, including 48 musicians, led by Major Jean-Claude Leberruyer. 
 
The infantry contingent had 75 soldiers.

For the first time in India, French soldiers take part in the Republic Day parade

New Delhi, May 19 () Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's office and part of his ministry located in Krishi Bhawan building in Central Delhi has been sealed, after an official in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying was tested positive for COVID-19. "Due to one recent corona positive case found in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, it has been decided that the Department of Food and Public Distribution office at Krishi Bhawan shall remain closed on May 19 and May 20 for intensive sanitization," an official order said. There are two departments under Paswan's ministry -- Department of Food and Public Distribution and Department of Consumer Affairs. Krishi Bhawan, located at the Rajpath Area in New Delhi, also houses several other ministries including agriculture, rural development and panchayati raj. The NITI Aayog building in New Delhi was sealed on April 28 after an employee tested positive. And amidst the boom of online fitness, India’s age-old practice of yoga too donned a virtual avatar. And riding on the popularity of yoga is Ira Yoga Wellness. Ira Trivedi, who has long been an advocate for yoga and wellness in India, found herself at the right spot in the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown. Ira Yoga Wellness, which under its umbrella had physical classes along with a gamified app where people were rewarded for doing yoga, saw a sudden spike in interest. “The app actually started doing well during the pandemic as corporates offered their employees something more during work from home as a part of their corporate wellness initiatives,” Trivedi told Business Insider. Trivedi has been at the forefront of the yoga movement in India having been a part of the first International Day of Yoga at Rajpath New Delhi. While Trivedi calls the app a passion project, it was her quick decision to go online with live yoga classes that really did the trick. “We began with offering free yoga classes and everyone came online. We slowly grew from having one class a day to having six-seven classes a day. We grew along with the customer demand and kept responding to what our students wanted,” she said. Since March, Ira Yoga Wellness has launched yoga for kids, yoga for seniors, yoga for teens and more such classes to keep their students engaged. Doubling down every month Today, they have over 5000 active users and have seen a 100% month-on-month growth with repeat customers. Ira believes it is the different way in which they teach yoga that got their students hooked. For any live class, they create an ambience with soothing live music to make it as real as possible for the students. “We have teachers from five different countries and all follow the standard Yog Love format of teaching. We really figured out how to teach yoga online – every single class was interactive and it wasn’t like a youtube channel you are just following,” she said. And it is this format that got their users talking. “We have seen a completely organic growth, which is our strength. Most of our growth is from referrals where our current members invite their friends and family to come try yoga with us,” she said. A long road ahead for Yog Love They have also started live training courses to encourage more people to become yoga teachers. “It’s beautiful to see more and more women sign up for it. By teaching yoga from home, women can earn money while staying at home and all they need is a phone,” she said. Yoga might have become a favourite at-home exercise during lockdown. But Trivedi is gunning for more. During the lockdown, they even organised Yogathons which was an 11-hour event of yoga. “Yogathon is a whole day of yoga, meditation, healing, nutrition, and more for our users,” she said. While Yog Love has been profitable from the get go because they don’t spend much on marketing and instead have relied on organic growth and brand collaborations, Trivedi has left one door open for the possibilities of more. “We are very happy with where we are today, but we are being approached by many to consider expanding and we are beginning to consider external funding to go global,” she said. It was the latest show of force for a military branch that, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/after-himalayan-clash-india-prepares-navy-to-take-on-china-2021-6" target="_top">like its naval counterpart</a>, is in the midst of a massive modernization and expansion effort.Focused for decades on the threat from archrival Pakistan, India is now preparing its air force to fight another much larger foe: China.With roughly 2,000 combat aircraft from its air force and navy, China has the largest aviation force in Asia and the third largest in the world. Worse for India, China's increasingly close relationship with Pakistan is <a href="https://thediplomat.com/2021/07/the-china-pakistan-partnership-continues-to-deepen/" target="_top">resulting in closer military cooperation</a>, including joint development of fighter jets.Faced with the potential for an air war against two enemies, the IAF is increasing its size and capabilities.<h2>A significant inventory</h2><div type="image" title="Indian MiG-29 fighter jet" height="1116" width="2000" msid="85853169" hostid="261"></div>With well over 1,000 aircraft itself, the IAF is by no means small. Since India's independence, it has mostly fielded Russian aircraft made entirely in Russia or licensed for local production.Even today, the biggest fleets in the IAF inventory are those of the <keyword id="12004876" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="mig-21" source="Orion">MiG-21</keyword>, MiG-29, and the <a href="https://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/su-30mki-multirole-fighter-aircraft-india/" target="_top">Su-30MKI</a> - a version of Russia's Su-30 made specifically for and by India. (India signed a contract for the Su-30MKI in the 1990s and has built more than 200 of them domestically since the mid-2000s.)The service also has some European models, such as SEPECAT Jaguars and Mirage 2000s, which are the IAF's <a href="https://www.airforcemag.com/article/0912kargil/" target="_top">primary strike platforms</a>. But those aircraft, which were acquired in the 1980s, are showing signs of age, and the IAF plans to retire them by 2030.India's MiG-21s, first introduced in the 1960s, are also expected to be retired by 2030 - even the modernized MiG-21 Bison models. The jet has <a href="https://theprint.in/defence/11-down-in-5-yrs-3-in-2021-but-many-in-iaf-still-swear-by-mig-21s-despite-its-safety-record/663813/" target="_top">a poor safety record</a>; as of 2013, more than 480 of India's MiG-21s had been involved in accidents that had caused over 200 deaths.<h2>Threats on two fronts</h2><div type="image" title="Indian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30MKI" height="800" width="1200" msid="85853174" hostid="261"></div>The Su-30MKI purchase was more than just a general upgrade. It came after the Pakistan Air Force in 1982 accepted the first of 28 US-made F-16s, which seriously increased the PAF's capabilities a decade after it <a href="http://www.indiandefencereview.com/spotlights/1971-air-war-battle-for-air-supremacy/" target="_top">last fought</a> the IAF.The US <a href="https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/pakistan%E2%80%99s-long-controversial-love-affair-f-16-fighting-falcon-47682" target="_top">paused</a> F-16 deliveries in 1990 because of Pakistan's nuclear program, but they resumed in 2005, and the PAF now has some 75 F-16s. Their use is <a href="https://warontherocks.com/2020/08/how-americas-experience-with-pakistan-can-help-it-deal-with-turkey/" target="_top">conditional and closely monitored</a> by the US, but Pakistan would likely have no qualms about using them in an all-out war.In 2019, a <a href="https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/26836/we-cut-through-the-conflicting-claims-and-misinformation-surrounding-indias-strikes-on-pakistan" target="_top">series of skirmishes</a> between India and Pakistan included airstrikes on each other's territory and resulted in one MiG-21 Bison being shot down by PAF fighters, possibly by an F-16. It was the first time since 1971 that air attacks had been conducted across the Line of Control.During the Cold War, China sold Pakistan its J-6 and J-7 fighters, which were Chinese copies of Russia's MiG-19 and MiG-21. The PAF has also benefitted from Pakistan's closer ties with China in recent years.<div type="image" title="India Kashmir MiG-21 Bison crash" height="998" width="1400" msid="85853179" hostid="261"></div>Their air forces <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/International-relations/Indo-Pacific/China-and-Pakistan-conduct-joint-air-drills-with-eye-on-India" target="_top">re</a><a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/International-relations/Indo-Pacific/China-and-Pakistan-conduct-joint-air-drills-with-eye-on-India" target="_top">gularly</a> conduct joint <a href="https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202101/1211811.shtml" target="_top">exercises</a>, and they have even jointly developed a fourth-generation multirole combat aircraft, the <a href="https://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/fc1xiaolongjf17thund/" target="_top">JF-17</a>, of which Pakistan has over 100.China and Pakistan are now <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/china-pakistan-upgrading-fighter-aircraft-used-against-indian-air-force-report/story-BS87X5ux3Xaj8QqS6jtssN.html" target="_top">planning</a> upgrades to Pakistan's JF-17 fleet, and China has <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/chinese-pla-tries-to-psyche-indian-army-by-supplying-armed-drones-to-pak/story-tySb4UnKimFUYIxJdP3xGL.html" target="_top">announced</a> the sale of 50 <a href="https://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/wing-loong-unmanned-aerial-vehicle-uav/" target="_top">Wing Loong II combat drones</a> to Pakistan. Pakistan may also <a href="https://thediplomat.com/2020/05/is-the-chinese-jh-7-an-answer-to-the-pakistan-air-forces-deep-strike-needs/" target="_top">acquire</a> Chinese strike aircraft.China's own air force also poses a threat to the IAF. Particularly worrying for India are the <a href="http://www.military-today.com/aircraft/j10.htm" target="_top">J-10</a> and <a href="http://www.military-today.com/aircraft/j11.htm" target="_top">J-11</a> fighters and the <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidaxe/2020/08/17/chinese-stealth-fighters-head-west-to-confront-india/?sh=5f36556a1b85" target="_top">J-20</a> stealth fighter.The aerial threat from China was abundantly clear after last year's deadly standoff along its disputed border with India.India has a longer history of air operations in the area, but China is <a href="https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/41065/tracking-chinas-sudden-airpower-expansion-along-its-western-border" target="_top">rapidly building and expanding</a> air bases and defenses along its western borders.<h2>A major modernization</h2><div type="image" title="Indian Air Force Rafale fighter jet" height="1333" width="2000" msid="85853182" hostid="261"></div>Appreciating the threats, the IAF has committed to modernization.In 2016, India signed a contract with French firm Dassault Aviation four 36 Rafale multirole fighters. Twenty-six of them have been <a href="https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/india-has-received-26-rafale-aircraft-till-date-govt/article35585665.ece" target="_top">delivered</a> so far, and some have <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/current-affairs/indian-air-force-deploys-first-rafales-in-east-to-counter-china-121072900013_1.html" target="_top">already been deployed</a> to counter possible Chinese aggression.The IAF has also purchased 15 CH-47 Chinook helicopters and 22 AH-64 Apache gunships, both of which have also been <a href="https://theprint.in/defence/iaf-deploys-apache-attack-helicopters-and-chinooks-in-ladakh-increases-combat-air-patrols/445072/" target="_top">deployed</a> to the border region.India has developed its own lightweight <keyword id="12004878" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="fighter-jet" source="Orion">fighter jet</keyword>, the <a href="https://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/tejas/" target="_top">HAL Tejas</a>, and has about 20 in service. The original order for 40 fighters was supplemented by <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/rs-48000-crore-landmark-deal-india-clears-purchase-of-83-tejas-jets-for-iaf/articleshow/80251469.cms" target="_top">an additional order</a> of 83 improved Tejas Mark 1A variants, with a second production line <a href="https://theprint.in/defence/govt-clears-rs-48000-cr-deal-for-83-tejas-mk-1a-all-you-want-to-know-about-the-aircraft/584743/" target="_top">built</a> to speed up production.To meet its needs in the near-term, India is <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/after-tejas-india-moves-ahead-to-procure-more-mig-29s-sukhois/articleshow/80320199.cms" target="_top">buying</a> another 21 MiG-29s and 12 Su-30MKIs. <keyword id="44734" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indian-Government">Indian Government</keyword>’s ambitious plan to convert its ministries into <keyword id="853856" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="e-office">e-office</keyword> has hit a hurdle. Two big hurdles are excessive <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=youtube&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">YouTube</a> videos viewing in offices that clog the bandwidth and small computer monitors allotted to junior officials that hamper their ability to see digitized files. 
 
The issue surfaced at a workshop when <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+rural+development+ministry&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">the Rural Development Ministry</a>, which became the first one to become an e-office, was holding a session on how to digitize files and move to a <keyword id="3636242" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Paper-less-office">paper-less office</keyword> and showed them how to scan a 700-page file in just six minutes and how an e-file was retrieved from the system in about five minutes. 
 During the briefing, <keyword id="151047" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rural-Development-Ministry">Rural Development Ministry</keyword> Joint Secretary <keyword id="3635237" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="santosh-mathew">Santosh Mathew</keyword> highlighted two issues in his presentation. 
 "Sufficiency of bandwidth is an issue. It is said that 30 per cent of people in government work and 70 per cent watch videos on You-Tube, choking the bandwidth. Please tell your officials that logs can be pulled out to detect who is watching how much <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword>, this e-office will not succeed if this is not checked,” said Mathew, adding “Physical files have two sides - correspondence and the noting side. On a small monitor, a junior official is not able to see it properly. Senior officers don't have this problem as they have large monitors.” 
 
He added it was a challenge to encourage the junior officials to adopt e-office since they will end up being monitored. "<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=rajpath&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Rajpath</a> has the most costly real estate in the world. It will be shame if we use it to store paper," Mathew said.

70% Govt employees watching YouTube videos in office are choking e-office project. Here’s how

The national capital was today brought under an unprecedented ground-to-air security cover with thousands of armed personnel keeping a tight vigil for the 67th <keyword id="6416557" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Republic-day">Republic Day</keyword> celebrations where French President Francois Hollande was the chief guest. 
 The area around Central <keyword id="66" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword> was turned into virtual fortress in view of intelligence inputs that terror groups may target some important installations in the city. 
 
Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, central security agencies and NIA busted a module by arresting 14 militants linked to terror group ISIS. 
 
The group had planned to carry out sensational strikes at important installations and its members had also visited the national capital, official sources said. 
 
Commandos with light machine guns were deployed at 10 strategic locations and anti-aircraft guns remained positioned at two vantage points in the capital. 
 
The entire region of Central and New Delhi had nearly 50,000 security personnel drawn from Delhi Police and central security forces guarding every nook and corner. 
 Special arrangements were made at the historic Rajpath where <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>'s military might was on display. 
 Hollande was seated along with Mukherjee and host of VVIPs including Vice President <keyword id="6491214" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Hamid-Ansari">Hamid Ansari</keyword> and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
 
The enclosure of the VVIPs was put under a multi-layer security ring with Presidential Guards and officials of SPG and NSG guarding the two inner-most orbits and Delhi Police entrusted with guarding the outermost circle, said a senior official. 
 
Special patrolling teams, comprising three officials including a commando, were deployed in New Delhi area within two-kilometer radius from India Gate. 
 
Senior officials said snipers have been put on 45 buildings overlooking Rajpath besides providing a similar cover along all the buildings along the parade route. 
 Gunners have been given clear instructions to bring down any aerial object flying without permission. A 'NOTAM' (Notice to Airmen) has been declared from 10.35 AM to 12.15 PM during which no flights will land or take off at the <keyword id="6354478" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indira-Gandhi">Indira Gandhi</keyword> International Airport. 
 
"Specially trained police personnel with light machine guns have been deployed at 10 strategic spots in New Delhi area," a senior police official said. 
 
Officials said anti-aircraft guns have been deployed at two vantage points to ward off any threat from the sky. 
 
A special control room has been monitoring as many as 15,000 CCTV cameras installed across Central and New Delhi, with 200 high-tech digital cameras installed in the parade route, an official said. 
 As many as 1,000 traffic officials have been issued revolvers so that they can deal with any untoward incident amid heavy <keyword id="84008" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Security-arrangements">security arrangements</keyword> across the city involving around 25,000 police officials. 
 
The airspace will remain out of bounds for commercial flights arriving and departing out of the IGI airport here between 10.35 AM and 12.15 PM tomorrow. "Around 60 arrivals and departures take place at the IGI airport during this period, for which the notice was issued by the Airports Authority of India," a senior official said. 
 
Meanwhile, Delhi Police has set up a wireless integrated public address (WIPA) system to enhance security at croswded places and popular markets in the city. WIPA is a centralised public address system now installed at 31 crowded places and markets in Delhi, and also in 13 major metro stations. 
 
The national capital is already on high alert after inputs were received about the presence of key members of several terror groups in Delhi. 
 
In an inter-state coordination meeting held earlier this month, Delhi Police Chief B S Bassi had asked his force and police departments of neighbouring states to keep a vigilant eye on drones, as they have been perceived as a major threat to security, said a senior police official.

Massive security arrangements in Delhi ahead of Republic Day parade

<keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>'s military prowess and the country's diverse cultural heritage were on display at the 67th <keyword id="6416557" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Republic-day">Republic Day</keyword> parade on the magnificent Rajpath boulevard here on Tuesday at which visiting French President Francois Hollande was the chief guest. 
 
For the first time, a contingent from the French 35th Infantry Regiment was given the honour of leading the marching contingents and it performed with panache, preceded by a pipes and drums band and saluting in a rather unusual style with the hand held straight across the chest. 
 The celebrations began with Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> driving to the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial to the Unknown Soldier at India Gate and laying a wreath in honour of the countless Indian soldiers who have died in battles since World War I. 
 Modi then drove up to the saluting base to receive President <keyword id="6359124" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Pranab-Mukherjee">Pranab Mukherjee</keyword> and President Francois Hollande. 
 
The President's Bodyguard presented the national salute, the tricolour was unfurled and the national anthem was played to set the tone for a rather poignant moment - the posthumous presentation of the Ashok Chakra, the country's highest gallantry award in peacetime. It was presented this year to the widow of Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami of the Parachute Regiment, who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in the Kashmir Valley last September. 
 
The emotion on Mukherjee's face was visible as he presented the medal and the citation to Goswami's widow. 
 
The French apart, there was much that was different this time around. The marching contingents were fewer, as were the massed bands. 
 
Then, instead of a marching continent of ex-servicemen, there was a tableau dedicated to them in the first part of the parade, an army dog squad with handlers made an appearance after 26 years, and the camel-mounted troopers of the Border Security Force made up the rear element of the parade's military element. 
 
In another break with tradition, the young recipients of the National Awards for Bravery came up towards the end, followed by the children's pageant, a daredevil motorcycle display by the Corps of Signals, and a grand flypast by fighters, heavy-lift transports and helicopters of the Indian Air Force. 
 Vice President <keyword id="6491214" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Hamid-Ansari">Hamid Ansari</keyword>, the three service chiefs, Congress president <keyword id="689" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sonia-Gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</keyword>, cabinet ministers, a host of dignitaries and a group of women achievers seated in a special enclosure were on hand to witness the hour-and-half long parade.

India displays cultural heritage, military prowess on Republic Day

India's military might and rich cultural diversity were in full display during the dazzling 68th <keyword id="6416557" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Republic-day">Republic Day</keyword> celebrations in the national capital which had Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Chief Guest. 
 
Light rains and overcast skies failed to dampen the enthusiasm of thousands of spectators who witnessed the nearly one-and-half hour-long parade that marched down the majestic Rajpath, India's ceremonial boulevard, amid unprecedented security cover. 
 
 major highlight of the parade was 149-member marching contingent from UAE comprising personnel from Presidential Guards, the Air Force, the Navy and Army. They were led by a band comprising 35 musicians from that country. 
 Al Nahyan, also Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces, was seated next to Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> who wore a pink color 'safa' (turban). The two leaders were seen sharing some light moments. 
 
 For the first time a contingent of the National Security Guard (NSG), popularly known as the Black Cat Commandos, was part of the march past. 
 
The parade also saw the fly-past of three LCA Tejas Aircraft flying at a height of 300 metres in 'Vic' formation and the Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&amp;C) developed by DRDO. 
 
 The Indian Army's missile firing capability T-90 'Bhishma' tank, Infantry Combat Vehicle BMP-2K, Mobile Autonomous Launcher of the BrahMos Missile System, Weapon Locating Raddar 'Swathi' and Akash Weapons System and Dhanush Gun System were among the main draw in the mechanised columns. 
 Alongside the Crown Prince, the ceremonial parade was watched by Vice President <keyword id="6491214" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hamid-Ansari">Hamid Ansari</keyword>, former Prime Minister <keyword id="6359397" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manmohan-Singh">Manmohan Singh</keyword>, Congress chief <keyword id="689" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sonia-Gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</keyword> and the country's top political and military brass, besides the diplomatic community. 
 
Tableaux from 17 states and Union Territories and six central ministries and departments showcased the varied historical, art and cultural heritage of the country. Goods and Services Tax (GST) was the the theme of the tableau of Central Board of Excise and Customs. 
 
21 of the 25 children who won the National Bravery Award also participated in the parade. Four children have received the award posthumously. 
 
 The grand finale of the parade was a spectacular flypast by the Indian Air Force which displayed various formations like 'Chakra' and 'Vic' leaving the spectators spell-bound. The 'Hercules' formation comprising three C-130J Super Hercules aircraft also drew loud cheers. 
 The theme of IAF tableau was "Air Dominance Through Network Centric Operations" and it displayed the scaled down models of Su-30 MKI, Mirage-2000, AWACS, UAV, Apache and Communication <keyword id="6358065" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Satellite">Satellite</keyword>. 
 
 The Indian Navy's tableau showcased the lethal Marine Commandos proceeding for action, the indigenously built Kolkata Class Destroyer and the Kalvari Class next generation attack submarines. It also showcased a model of the P-8I Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft. 
 
As per tradition, after unfurling the National Flag, the National Anthem was played followed by a 21 gun salute.

Kumar also unveiled a 'city surveillance and dial 100' scheme under which at least 100 CCTV cameras installed in different localities of the state capital became operational. A state data centre has also been opened for storing of the 'data' collected by these cameras. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, CM Kumar announced an IT City would be developed on a 200-acre plot at Rajgir. He also said the government has in principle approved an infotech building on a plot of one lakh sq ft and another on a plot of 5 lakh sq ft in Patna. Besides, an infotech park is coming up on the outskirts of the city. 
 Kumar asked the information technology department officials to hold roadshows in select cities across the country to <keyword id="54921" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="40" keywordseo="spread">spread</keyword> awareness about the progress made by Bihar in the field of information technology. "Our state should now be the IT industry's fave destination," he said. 
 The state's free <keyword id="47655" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Wi-Fi">Wi-Fi</keyword> zone is the longest in the world since China's 3.5km zone was treated as the longest so far. The 'city surveillance and dial 100' project is first of its kind in the country as it integrates the surveillance of the city, vehicle tracking and dial 100 control centre schemes. An automated number plate recognition system has been installed on 11 roads, which will automatically note the registration number of the vehicles entering and exiting the city. "It was with this surveillance system's help that the Patna police rescued the son of a city-based trader from Ara within 24 hours of his kidnapping recently," CM Kumar said. 
 IT minister Shahid Ali Khan said free Wi-Fi facility would be provided at all the tourist spots in the state. Principal secretary (IT) N K Sinha said Bihar might be a late entrant to this sector but "we are on the cusp of IT revolution". <keyword id="6372077" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Nasscom">Nasscom</keyword> president R Chandrashekhar and Beltron MD Atul Sinha were among those who also spoke at the e-Bihar event.
