The romantic number would be shot at the famous black sand and white surf location in <keyword id="55091" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Iceland">Iceland</keyword>, and we can’t wait to see India’s most loved on-screen jodi to sizzle in this song. 
 
However, director Rohit Shetty is not the first Indian director to have thought of shooting a song in a single go. In the past, there have been songs or sequences where the director didn’t call for a cut and shot it in one go. 
 
Surely, this takes a lot of planning, rehearsal, and retakes, but what comes out in the final cut is spellbinding, and completely worth it.

This song from 2015's comedy-drama had a lot of actors, including Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Rahul Bose, Ridhuma Sud, Zarina Wahab, Vikrant Massey, Parmeet Sethi, Divya Seth, and Manoj Pahwa dancing with hundreds of background songs. Out of all the songs listed, this one has the most fast-paced beats, and is also the longest one-take song (04:38 minutes). Eight songs that ensured Kishore Kumar became a legend

A total of four movies were released on July 18 – <keyword id="1458485" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hate-Story-2">Hate Story 2</keyword>, <keyword id="1812799" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amit-Sahni-Ki-List">Amit Sahni Ki List</keyword>, <keyword id="2364604" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Pizza-3D">Pizza 3D</keyword> and finally, <keyword id="20397" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajesh-Khanna">Rajesh Khanna</keyword> tribute film <keyword id="1152105" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Riyasat">Riyasat</keyword>, released on his 2nd death anniversary. But those who expected to find a superb <keyword id="2437016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Thriller-erotica">thriller-erotica</keyword> in <keyword id="2296101" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vishal-Pandya">Vishal Pandya</keyword>’s <keyword id="753788" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hate-Story">Hate Story</keyword> 2 could be disappointed – neither the sizzle, nor the thrill matched the earlier Hate Story (a 2012 film directed by <keyword id="30014" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vivek-Agnihotri">Vivek Agnihotri</keyword> and starring <keyword id="455333" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Paoli-Dam">Paoli Dam</keyword>, Gulshan Devaiah and <keyword id="8255" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nikhil-Dwivedi">Nikhil Dwivedi</keyword>). In spite of some spirited acting by <keyword id="22533" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Surveen-Chawla">Surveen Chawla</keyword> and <keyword id="21678" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="sushant-singh">Sushant Singh</keyword>, the current movie turned out to be a mediocre <keyword id="1321184" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="revenge-drama">revenge drama</keyword> with lots of skin show, but still managed to do amazingly well at the <keyword id="827271" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Domestic-Box-Office">domestic box office</keyword>. Produced by <keyword id="24468" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bhushan-Kumar">Bhushan Kumar</keyword> and <keyword id="15260" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="vikram-bhatt">Vikram Bhatt</keyword>, Hate Story 2 netted Rs 5.46 crore on the opening Friday (trade figure stood at Rs 4.61 crore) and went on to collect Rs 15.85 crore nett in the first three days (trade figure was Rs 14.30 crore). But there was the usual Monday drop and the movie collected around Rs 2.68 crore on the fourth day (trade figure was Rs 2.11 crore), thus netting a total of Rs 18.53 crore after Day 4. 
 
Hate Story 2 hit 600 screens across the country but thanks to the fantastic business it is doing, the distributors now want it to be released in 1,200 screens pan-India, as per media reports. The opening weekend collections of Hate Story 2 were bigger than some A-list movies, including <keyword id="6377522" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="queen">Queen</keyword>, Highway and Dedh Ishqiya, and the 15th highest in 2014. It had a budget of Rs 14 crore (cost and P&amp;A), which means the flick is making profits. Interestingly, the official trailer of Hate Story 2 crossed over 4 million views on <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword> within four days of its launch, but if you ask us, it’s a total put-off in many ways in spite of earning more than the other three releases. 
 
In stark contrast, Vir Das-Vega Tamotia-Anindita Nayar-starrer <keyword id="2336494" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amit-Sahni">Amit Sahni</keyword> Ki List turns out to be a refreshing <keyword id="1636016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="rom-com">rom-com</keyword> with loads of laughter and some pertinent points about relationships. But <keyword id="664154" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ajay-Bhuyan">Ajay Bhuyan</keyword>’s directorial endeavour failed to win hearts, netting a little over Rs 3.1 crore at home after the first Monday. Pizza 3D, a remake of the 2012 Tamil <keyword id="828468" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Supernatural">supernatural</keyword> thriller, came loaded with terror bytes but earned around Rs 2.87 crore nett in the first three days. Incidentally, the Tamil version of this movie was a sleeper hit. 
 
 
 
However, the worst is Ashok Tyagi-directed Riyasat, yet another version of Mario Puzo’s Godfather and <keyword id="1076" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="superstar">superstar</keyword> Rajesh Khanna’s (<keyword id="4753" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saheb">Saheb</keyword>) last outing. First day collections stood at a paltry Rs 36 lakh and the rest of the numbers are yet to come in. But industry insiders expect it to be a box office bomb and Khanna’s listless presence is not likely to help it. Although Aryan Vaid (Shakti), the elder son and heir, and <keyword id="15984" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aryeman-Ramsay">Aryeman Ramsay</keyword> (his younger son <keyword id="3037" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vijay">Vijay</keyword>) performed well, India’s first-ever superstar was completely off-colour and looked totally under the weather – hardly a fitting tribute to an <keyword id="271" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="actor">actor</keyword> of his stature. 
 
Critically speaking, Amit Sahni Ki List still tops the list in spite of the box office debacle and the shoddy treatment of an intriguing script. Here we meet Amit Sahni (<keyword id="671" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vir-das">Vir Das</keyword>), an <keyword id="140092" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="investment-banker">investment banker</keyword> trying to find the perfect relationship and not get hurt in the process. His serio-comic vulnerability reminds one of the young gang from Dil Chahta Hai and the carefully made check list of partner’s qualities once again makes us realise life does not follow a perfect script in spite of all our efforts. But the movie loses pace in-between, loses coherence and a drab ending ultimately mars the freshness. 
 Directed by debutant <keyword id="2174779" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Akkineni">Akshay Akkineni</keyword>, Pizza 3D captures the paranormal experiences of Kunal (<keyword id="480238" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Oberoi">Akshay Oberoi</keyword>), a <keyword id="1079002" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="pizza-delivery-boy">pizza delivery boy</keyword> married to the <keyword id="2437008" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="horror-thriller-writer">horror thriller writer</keyword> <keyword id="741" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nikita">Nikita</keyword> (<keyword id="12341" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Parvathy-Omanakuttan">Parvathy Omanakuttan</keyword>). What follows is a terror fest, with loads of twists and turns, leading to a climax that is spooky enough to please horror fans. However, the 3D effects did not add much to the terror elements. 
 
Overall, an average week for Bollywood, but you are bound to experience some dhamaka when Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer <keyword id="6362088" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="kick">Kick</keyword> is released on July 25.

Story 2 Steals The Show, But Don’t Miss Amit Sahni Ki List

Seems like the 80’s have come back. After <keyword id="54635" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Fujifilm">Fujifilm</keyword> take on the retro look for their camera, <keyword id="114355" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Nikon">Nikon</keyword> has also brought a retro looking <keyword id="180940" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="DSLR">DSLR</keyword> to the <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> shores. Called the DF, this is a full-frame DSLR camera which has mechanical dials and is brilliant to look at. Similar looking cameras were seen in <keyword id="20397" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Rajesh-Khanna">Rajesh Khanna</keyword> and <keyword id="16506" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Dev-Anand">Dev Anand</keyword> movies from yesteryears. 
 However, the camera looks and outside mechanics are the only things that represent the old era here. The insides of this marvel have the latest boost. DF hides a 16.2 MP sensor that supports ISO range upto 12,800 and 39 auto focus system. The body is compact and is lighter than the usual full-frame DSLR. It weighs mere 710 grams. Apart from <keyword id="358683" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="40" keywordseo="The-View">the view</keyword> finder the camera also has a 3.2-inch LCD at the back. A50 mm lens comes in the box. 
 
Nikon has priced the camera at Rs 1,99,995 (with kit), which is on the higher side, however considering its full-frame capabilities one might want to pick it up.

Growing up in a close-to-megalomaniac environment, where people are either larger than life or puny to the extent of being non-existent once out of stardom, can have myriad effects on minds. Humans suffer in the cacophony called Bollywood, where actors and actresses are made and unmade every weekend. <o:p></o:p>

	Surviving amongst people belonging to this industry, who have fragile egos and thrive on spotlight and attention-seeking behavior, can be quite a challenge.<o:p></o:p>

	And to have a parallel interest that comes close on heels to being an intelligent, thinking person who can take a jibe at the society, which isn’t all pink, can be quite another battle.<o:p></o:p>

	But when Twinkle Khanna made ‘Mrs Funnybones’ happen, she wasn’t expected to make all the news that she made. She is the person who never wanted to be deemed as dunked-in-Bollywood bimbette who was going to live under the shadow of her hugely successful parents, or her husband <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword>, who is doing quite well for himself. Mind you, he ain’t a Khan and to top that, he excels in many genres of films such as action, comedy and thrillers.<o:p></o:p>

	Mrs Funnybones, the hilarious and cheeky bon mots, are surely a refreshing read, especially from the stable of an actress who really didn’t get much farther in Bollywood. Twinkle has found her best form of expression.<o:p></o:p>

	She has compiled her blogposts and released them in a book titled, ‘Mrs Funnybones: She’s just like you and a lot like me’. <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> ran a pre-order contest for this most coveted book.<o:p></o:p>

	So, the pretty kohl-eyed lady, who is a doting mother of two, could have been a socialite for all you would care. But, she came out with a surprise. So much that her writings have spelt out some bold things that Bollywood wouldn’t have come to admit, for its sham nature.<o:p></o:p>

	May Twinkle was destined to write as she penned several poems throughout her childhood. Her late father Rajesh Khanna called her writing ‘morose and morbid’ but still loved her expressions.<o:p></o:p>

	Writing for humour genre, laced with dollops of sarcasm and wit, can come from someone who likes P G Wodehouse. Else, you would rarely notice the ‘blimey’ stuff peeking through her lines.<o:p></o:p>

	On the day of book launch in Mumbai, to give company to her quick wit and repartee-ready-lashing-tongue, were friends and well wishers.<o:p></o:p>

	Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who was present at the event said, “All of us have different abilities. Twinkle’s ability is to insult people.” <o:p></o:p>

	That was a quick witted compliment to a friend who gave him his biggest flop, ‘Mela’. Twinkle co-starred with Aamir in the film, which tanked and left no trace. It was somewhat a turning point for both actors, or so maintains Aamir that she married Akshay only after the film went down, and that he turned into a serious actor who got committed to acting in just one film every year.<o:p></o:p>

	Looks like both friends’ decision did a lot of good to the Indian audience.<o:p></o:p>

	During the event, while Akshay doted on her with his humourous one-liners, such as “Twinkle is like my film Baby. Deadly mission with a happy ending”, Bollywood director Karan Johar, who was Twinkle’s classmate in school and her partner in few crimes during those days, said, “She sounds like she should have been banned already!”<o:p></o:p>

	On a serious note, in an industry that serves fantasy and lives by the glare lights, a thinking person can be a slight aberration. Twinkle manages her writing between her decisions from choosing Tandoori chicken or butter chicken for dinner and fleet of maids and guests. It should be noted that she is also a candle connoisseur who has done pretty well for herself in the niche segment.

Twinkle ‘Funnybones’ Khanna is more than glitter, she’s beyond clever

Can you imagine that for one whole month way back in the early 1990s no stocks were traded in Mumbai? It did not matter whether you were a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata">Tata</a> or a<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+Birla"> Birla</a> or an <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ambani">Ambani</a> or a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Godrej">Godrej</a> or a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=wadia">Wadia</a> or for that matter the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Life+Insurance+Corporation+of+India">Life Insurance Corporation of India</a>. You just did not know the value of your stocks lying in your cupboard. 
 
Not so long ago the Indian government, listed stocks, company managements and investors of all hues were hostages to a closed coterie of brokers running our financial markets. It was THE private club to belong to, only that entry was restricted to a few. 
 
They decided when the markets would open, who would get paid for shares sold and who would get delivery for stock purchased. In short, their control was total. 
 
It wasn’t a gang of people who had white skins and ran our markets from overseas. They certainly weren’t aliens either but everyone accepted their rule without murmur. 
 
Since it is August 15th today this is just the right time to check out how hard investors fought for their freedom. 
 
So, read on: 
 
Today a transaction happens at the push of button on a mobile phone. Invisible shares are transferred to your demat account or money hits your bank in less than 3 days. But imagine if you did not get paid for 3 months for the shares you sold, or worse you did not get the stocks that you purchased for as long as 6 months? 
 
Life was tough for an investor until the late 1990s. The poor fellow needed more than just luck to make money. He needed a huge effort just to keep his legitimately purchased portfolio in his name. All around him were fake share certificates, many brokers who would refuse to pay on time, if at all, and often hand out bad deliveries when pressed to the wall. 
 
The poor investor did not even have a government mandated regulator until the mid-1990s. He had just no shoulder to cry on. 
 
The world of investing was unequal. It was cruel as well. 
 
Unlike today where the dominance of the National Stock Exchange is unquestioned, Indian markets were fragmented. From the early 1900s to the 1990s there were more than a dozen stock bourses across the country even though the dominant alpha male remained the Bombay Stock Exchange. A broking ticket on the BSE could set you back by a cool 4 crore rupees and it wasn’t available off the shelf even if you had the money lined up. 
 
Right up till the mid-1990s, a broker on the BSE was like GOD: in capital letters. The broker was the ultimate He-Man. He controlled the destinies of investors, listed companies and their managements. In him rested the power to push any stock to stratospheric levels or to bring it down into the basement in a matter of a few trading days. His wealth was unimaginable. 
 
An investor would pay at least 2 percent brokerage on either side to just get his transaction completed. Since there were no screens and trading was done in a small ring, invariably the fellow was billed the highest rate when he bought the stock and the lowest price when he sold it. The misery did not end here. 
 
The world of share certificates was physical. You got a handful of dirty, greasy and torn share certificates in exchange of money paid weeks, perhaps, months in advance. They had a transfer deed attached on top of them with a signature of the current holder. You stuck revenue stamps at the back of the transfer deed and sent it to the company’s address to get the shares transferred in your name. 
 
Most investors were God fearing. They had to be. 
 
It was entirely possible that the share certificates would come back as fake, or the company could sit on them for months together to create an artificial scarcity of the stock in the market. If you DON’T have delivery, you CAN’T sell, can you? 
 
In the meantime the price would be jacked up and you couldn’t do a thing to benefit from that lovely rise in the value of your holdings because you did not get the shares returned to you! They would come back once the price settled about 50 percent lower. 
 
And if you were really unlucky, the seller’s signature on the transfer deed wouldn’t match the one kept in the company’s records. 
 
There were scams galore. You think of it and it happened here in India. IPO scams, aqua-culture companies without ponds and Timber companies without forests merrily raised money and ran away. 
 
So, how did all this end? 
 
Well, there was a massive scam in 1991 led by a broker called Harshad Mehta. No one will EVER come close to Harshad’s charisma. No one. Harshad was much bigger than Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan all rolled together. Waves and waves of investors would come to greet him when he stepped out of the BSE. Harshad mesmerised everyone from the government, to investors, to companies, to managements and the retail investors. 
 
All came under his spell. 
 
Harshad misused a local financing tool to raise funds. When the scam broke out, the government came down heavily on the coterie of brokers. It wanted someone to be punished for the crime which saw many PSU bankers losing their jobs. 
 
And how did the brokers respond? They shut the BSE for one month. No trade was done. No scrip was quoted and no one knew what his or her portfolio was worth. 
 
A government held hostage struck back with equal ferocity. The Securities &amp; Exchange Board of India was set up. 
 
The crisis also led to the inception of the government backed National Stock Exchange which guaranteed the following: Trades would be settled on each Tuesday. Money would hit your bank on Wednesday or the shares would be delivered to you within a week. Your trade was guaranteed by the NSE. It would result in either payment of money or delivery of shares. 
 
Slowly but surely investors started to move their transactions to the NSE. The BSE lost its sheen. Later, the government mandated that all share certificates be dematerialised and physical deliveries be stopped. By early 2000 all deliveries became electronic and trading was screen based. 
 
The trading ring in the BSE fell silent. 
 
At the same time Badla financing was replaced by Futures and Options trading. Slowly the BSE followed the NSE in its settlement and payment procedures. But the battle was lost. All regional stock exchanges died a natural death. 
 
It’s a rare business case where a public sector company won handsomely against a privately run giant. And it all happened in India! 
 
Today, investors and traders enjoy unparalleled freedom on Indian stock exchanges as they are the best in the world when it comes to technology, speed and transactional quality. I hope this continues well into the future. 
 
But it was one heck of a battle that the small guy won and won handsomely!
