Indian Railways RRB JE recruitment 2019: The board likely to declare results tomorrow, check @rrbcdg.gov.in

<keyword id="6355455" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indian-Railways">Indian Railways</keyword> is conducting the world's "largest" online examination to fill up over 18,000 vacancies in various categories. A whopping 92 lakh candidates had applied for the jobs, of whom 2.73 lakh qualified the preliminary exam and were called for written test on January 17¬19, said a senior <keyword id="54441" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Railway-ministry">Railway Ministry</keyword> official. 
 The online examination is being undertaken by the <keyword id="164904" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Railway-Recruitment-Boards">Railway Recruitment Boards</keyword> to fill up 18,252 graduate ¬level Group¬3 posts, including assistant station master, goods guard, inquiry-¬cum-reservation clerk, traffic and commercial apprentices and junior accounts assistant. 
 
Earlier, recruitment examinations used to be conducted manually, but the railways had to abandon the manual system and opt for online mode after a few alleged incidents of question paper leak. Describing it as the "largest online examination in the world", the official said that in order to ensure complete transparency, the railways has introduced the system of showing answer papers online to examinees one week after the examination. "We have shown the examinees the answers given by them and the correct answers of the questions. We had also given them opportunities to raise objections, if any, till January 30," he said. The next stage for selection is the psychological tests for assistant station masters and typing test for senior clerks and the appointment letters are expected to be given to successful candidates by May this year. 
 
At present, there are about 2 lakh vacancies in the railways which has about 13 lakh employees. However, all the vacancies will not be filled up as many posts are being frozen at the moment, he said. The railways will begin next recruitment drive for about 20,000 vacancies, including in the posts of assistant loco pilots and technical supervisor, in the next phase.

World's largest online test conducted by Indian Railways to fill up 18,000 vacancies

"Recently, National Testing Agency (<keyword id="19985628" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NTA" source="keywords">NTA</keyword>) conducted NEET(UG) examination on May 5, 2024 in OMR (Pen and paper) mode. Certain cases of alleged irregularities/cheating/impersonation/malpractices were reported," Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply. After review, the matter was entrusted to the Central Bureau of Investigation (<keyword id="19896633" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CBI" source="keywords">CBI</keyword>) for comprehensive investigation on June 22, 2024, he said. "No incidence/event of paper leakage has been reported in the recruitment <keyword id="20362599" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="examinations" source="keywords">examinations</keyword> conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), during the last two years," Singh said. In order to provide for prevention of unfair means in public examinations, the <keyword id="19900449" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="government" source="keywords">government</keyword> has enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair means) Act, 2024, which has been brought into force vide and subsequently rules under this law have also been notified, he added.

No paper leakage incidence reported in recruitment examinations conducted by UPSC, SSC: Govt

A statement issued by <keyword id="9255929" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-ministry-of-railways">the Ministry of Railways</keyword> said, "It may be noted that RRBs had issued three centralised employment notifications for NTPC categories, isolated and ministerial categories and Level-1 categories for a total of about 1.4 lakh vacancies for various categories of staff." "Against these employment notifications, more than 2.4 crore candidates have applied," it said, adding that the national transporter has made requisite preparations for smooth conduct of computer based tests (CBTs) which is scheduled from December 15 onwards. It said that the details of schedule of the CBTs will be uploaded on the websites of RRBs in due course. It said that the railways had notified three types of vacancies -- 35,208 for NTPC (non-technical popular categories like guards, office clerks, commercial clerks etc.), 1,663 for Isolated and Ministerial categories (steno and teaches etc.) and 1,03,769 for Level-1 vacancies (track maintainers, pointsman etc). New Delhi, Feb 5 () There were over 6.83 lakh vacant posts in different central government departments, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.Citing annual report of pay and research unit of the department of expenditure, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply to the lower house that out of the total of 38,02,779 sanctioned strength, 31,18,956 employees were in position, as on March 1, 2018. There were 6,83,823 vacant posts as on March 1, 2018, it said."Vacancies in the central government are caused due to retirement, resignation, death, promotion etc. and the posts falling vacant are required to be filled as per recruitment rules by the concerned ministries/departments/ organisations," the minister said.He said, filling up of vacant posts is a continuous process depending on the vacancies arising across ministries/departments during the year and action calendar of the recruiting agencies. During the current year 2019-20, three recruiting agencies namely, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) have made recommendations for recruitment to around 1.34 lakh posts.A highest of 1,16,391 recommendations were made by the RRB, 13,995 by SSC and 4,399 by UPSC, the reply said.Further, recruiting agencies like SSC, RRB, Postal Service Board and Ministry of Defence are in process of filling up of 3,10,832 vacant posts, including 27,652vacant posts of defence civilians, the reply said.Recently, all ministries/departments have been requested to take time bound action to fill the existing vacancies in various ministries/departments and their attached/subordinate offices, the reply said."To reduce the recruitment cycle, recruiting agencies have switched over to computer based online test, interview for non-gazetted posts has been discontinued and provisional appointment is being made pending verification of antecedents of the candidates," it said. Over 6.83 lakh vacant posts in central govt departments: Personnel Ministry

Widespread protests against the 'Agnipath' scheme for the recruitment of armed forces have spread to several districts in Uttar Pradesh. Bulandshahr, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Varanasi, Unnao, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Rae Bareli and Ballia are among the districts that have witnessed protests, with youth demanding the scheme's withdrawal. In several districts, the police had to resort to lathi charge and fire teargas shells to disperse the mob. In Bulandshahr, protesters blocked the busy GT Road. "We strongly oppose the new recruitment scheme. We want the old recruitment scheme back," one of the protesters said. Bulandshahr Superintendent of Police, Shlok Kumar said: "Some youngsters gathered to stage a protest in the morning. They later called it off on the assurance given by police officials." Ballia was the worst affected district since protesters set bogies of the Sealdah Express on fire, vandalised railway property and then attacked shops and kiosks outside the station. Job aspirants pelted stones at a government bus in Agra, triggering deployment of additional police personnel to control the situation. In Firozabad, protesters vandalised roadways buses. Youth also gathered along the Agra-Delhi highway, seeking the revival of the old recruitment policy in the armed forces. Traffic was blocked for several hours on this route. Agra Senior Superintendent of Police, Sudhir Kumar Singh, said: "A large number of students come to Agra to prepare for exams through coaching centres. These job aspirants reached here and blocked the road." In Rae Bareli and Gonda, the protesters raised slogans and blocked traffic. As the recruitment was stalled for the last two years, many were deprived of the opportunity to join the army," Singh tweeted. "Therefore, keeping in mind the future of the youth, on the instructions of the Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, the government has increased the age limit for the recruitment of Agniveers from 21 years to 23 years this time. This one time relaxation has been given. This will entitle a lot of youth to become Agniveers," said the Defence minister in a subsequent tweet. The situation continued to be tense as a large number of protesters remained in the station and on the tracks. The Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police and city police were trying to bring the situation under control. Additional forces were rushed to the area which resembled a battle zone. Authorities have cancelled all the trains. With the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses also being targeted outside the station, the corporation suspended bus services in the area. Violence rocked the railway station here as hundreds of youth went on a rampage, setting afire East Coast Express. Passengers ran for their safety. Several bogies were gutted. Raising slogans against the Central government, the protesters also torched bogies of another train on the station, stalls, display boards and other railway property. They also dumped parcel articles on the tracks and set them afire. The protesters, who were raising slogans of 'Jai jawan Jai kisan' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' ,demanded that the government scrap the recently announced scheme and continue the existing system of recruitment. The youth were angry that the government cancelled the recruitment examination for which they had been preparing for the last 3-4 years. They said their protest would continue till the Centre scraps the new scheme. Following the large-scale violence, an alert was sounded at all railway stations in Telangana. In Samastipur, the agitators set two coaches of the Jammu Tawi-Guwahati Express on fire in the Mohiuddinnagar railway station located on Hajipur-Barauni railway section. In Khagaria, the agitated mob stopped the Purnea-Ranchi Kosi Express at the Mansi railway station and demanded the rollback of the Agnipath scheme. The students are sitting on tracks at several places in Bihar and they are not ready to go home. Many of them claimed that the Agnipath scheme was suicidal for youths if they join the Army under this scheme. "An army jawan becomes trained in at least a year's time and it takes 5 to 6 years for the jawan to perform duty on the border posts. Under the Agnipath scheme, there is a provision of six months training and deployment anywhere in the country, including on the borders connected to Pakistan and China. Partially skilled jawans cannot survive on the border. This is if the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) proposed by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday (February 1), goes through. Sitharaman proposed to set up a test centre in every district to trim the recruitment process in government departments and public sector banks. “This places enormous burden on time, effort and cost of young people,” she commented on the current process. As per her proposal, job seekers will now have to take a common online exam and the scores will be valid upto three years - and can be used for notifications across companies over the years. However, the applicant can give three attempts to improve the score. In this case, the best of three scores obtained shall be considered for recruitment. The scorecard will be available to both the candidates and the recruitment agency. The move will benefit over 250 million aspirants who struggle with courses and test formats for 125,000 job postings across departments. Applicants can save on the fee needed to appear for multiple entrances. The entrance test can also be used by private sector recruiters. “The CET score can also be utilised by the private sector for consideration of eligible candidates other than those selected by government recruitment agencies, through an arrangement with NRA,” the government noted. According to the budget announcements, the government is likely to create 262,000 jobs by March next year. Meanwhile, separate CETs will also be formulated for recruitment of graduates and matric level students applying for non-technical posts. As of now, these posts are filled via Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) exams. The government also plans to expand its 'Study in India' programme.
