The government is planning to sell up to 20% stake in the company. The OFS has opened for non-retail investors today. Floor price has been set at ₹1367, which is at a 16% discount to the last closing price on December 9. <div type="image" title="ITC Share price (1)" msid="79656890" hostid="261"></div> The promoter proposes to sell up to 2,40,00,000 equity shares of IRCTC, representing up to 15% stake, with an option to additionally sell 80,00,000 shares, representing 5% of the total issued and paid up equity share capital, the company said in a regulatory filing. "Offer for Sale in IRCTC opens tomorrow for Non Retail investors. Day 2 for retail investors. Govt. would divest 15 per cent equity with a 5 per cent green shoe option," Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey said in a tweet. Shares of IRCTC on Wednesday closed at Rs 1,618.05 apiece on the BSE, down 1.55 per cent from its previous close. In all, the promoter Government of India will sell 3.2 crore shares, which is expected to garner Rs 4,374 crore for the exchequer starved of funds due to the COVID-19 crisis. <keyword id="9901399" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IRCTC-ofs">IRCTC OFS</keyword> will help the government inch forward in meeting the Rs 2.10 lakh crore disinvestment target. Of this, Rs 1.20 lakh crore will come from disinvestment of public sector undertakings and another Rs 90,000 crore from stake sale in financial institutions. The government currently holds 87.40 per cent stake in IRCTC. To meet Sebi's public holding norm, the government has to lower its stake in the company to 75 per cent. IRCTC, the only entity authorised by Indian Railways to provide catering services, online railway tickets and packaged drinking water at railway stations and trains in India, was listed on the stock exchanges in October 2019. The company had raised Rs 645 crore through the IPO. The Union Cabinet had in April 2017 approved listing of five railway companies. While four of them -- IRCON International Ltd, RITES Ltd, <keyword id="185930" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rail-Vikas-Nigam-Ltd">Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd</keyword> and IRTC -- have already been listed, IRFC is likely to be put on the block this fiscal. IRCTC tumbles 8% as government's 20% stake sale through OFS begins

<keyword id="108191" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Railway-Finance-Corporation">Indian Railway Finance Corporation</keyword> (<keyword id="153053" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IRFC">IRFC</keyword>) initial public offering of about Rs 4,600 crore may hit the markets later this month, a first by a non-banking financial company (NBFC) in the public sector. "In all probability it (IPO) will be by the third week but, if the market is not okay then we can go to the first or second week of January also," Amitabh Banerjee, Chairman and Managing Director, IRFC, told here. The company, the dedicated financing arm of <keyword id="1204894" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Indian-railways">the Indian Railways</keyword>, will be going for the anchor investment also. "The government is planning to have anchor investors in place for this IPO," he added. In January 2020, IRFC filed draft papers for its IPO. According to market sources, the IPO is likely to be worth around Rs 4,600 crore. On reasons for bringing the anchor portion, the CMD added that it is a confident market and the anchor investors would be assured of the fact that they will be able to get the desired proportion of issuance without regular bidding. "They will be able to get the amount that they want to invest in IRFC without going for the bidding route. Also, it will give a lot of confidence to other investors in the market who are sitting on the fence," he said. The issue is of up to 178.20 crore shares, comprising a fresh issue of up to 118.80 crore shares and offer for sale of up to 59.40 crore shares by the government, according to the draft prospectus. "We are the first NBFC in the PSU sector that is going public for the first time and we shall be paving the way for others," he added. On plans to utilise the funds mopped up from the offer, he added that 10 per cent of the issuance will go to the company's balance sheet and that will increase its net worth and this the firm will be using for raising more money from the market. He further said that this will add to the company's capability to explore the market further and garner more funds from the market which is the order of the day because the government is in need of funds for its capex expansion outlay requirements. "Therefore 10 per cent will come to my balance sheet and 5 per cent will go to the government of India's exchequer," he added. Banerjee said the prospect for having a good IPO is "very much bright". "Everyone (domestic and foreign investors) has a lot of interest in this particular issue. We are extremely hopeful that it will hit the market with a bang," he said. Banerjee said COVID-19 has now come as a "blessing in disguise for us" as the market is flushed with funds and investors are looking to invest in safe havens. "Indian Railway Finance Corporation happens to be one of the safest havens as far as investors are concerned," he added. Banerjee is hopeful that the IPO will be one of the landmark issuances of the fiscal. "I hope that it will be one of the landmark issuances in this fiscal which augurs well for the other issuances that are coming forward for the government of India in this fiscal," the CMD said. The book running lead managers to the issue are DAM Capital Advisors, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets, ICICI Securities and SBI Capital Markets. Asked about the purpose of this IPO, he said, one of the purposes is to unlock the value that the company has built over so many years of its existence. "We have already traversed a period of 34 years since its inception in 1986. So, it will unlock the value of the company, it will bring in better corporate governance norms in the organisation which is extremely necessary in any public sector company. That will bring in more transparency in the working of the company," he said. The company's principal business is to borrow funds from the financial markets to finance acquisition/creation of assets which are then leased out to the <keyword id="6355455" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-railways">Indian Railways</keyword>. Encouraged by volume growth, margin improvement and recovery in rural sales, India's top fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies are now back to their normal growth cycle as they step up investments as well as spending on advertising and marketing. <keyword id="84065" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fmcg-companies" source="Orion">FMCG companies</keyword> are chasing volume growth again after a gap of a few quarters, offering higher grammage and price cuts thanks to inflationary pressures softening on key raw materials for everything from soaps to food items. Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Dabur, Marico, Godrej Consumer Products, ITC, Tata Consumer Products and Nestle reported volume recovery in the March quarter and said they expect a gradual pickup in consumption in FY24. "The prospects of a sustained recovery have strengthened. After five quarters of volume decline, the sector has posted volume growth," Marico MD and CEO Saugata Gupta said in the company's earnings conference call. "Urban consumption has been steady while rural is showing some convincing signs of having bottomed out." Foods continue to drive growth for the sector, while the home and personal care segment also entered positive territory after an extended slowdown. Marico, which owns popular brands like Saffola, Parachute and Livon, reported an 18.7 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 305 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2023 while sales rose 3.65 per cent to Rs 2,240 crore, driven by single-digit volume growth and moderation in commodity prices. HUL said rural areas have shown improvement with higher value growth sequentially. While HUL's volumes continue to fall, the extent of decline has reduced versus last quarter. "The slowdown in the FMCG market is bottoming out. This improvement was led by volumes, which have turned flat in this quarter, versus a mid-single-digit decline in the December quarter," said HUL CFO Ritesh Tiwari in its earnings call. The makers of popular brands such as Rin, Lux, Surf Excel and Pond's said it expects the price-volume growth to rebalance further. "We expect volumes to recover gradually due to high levels of cumulative inflation and the fact that consumption habits typically recover with a lag," he said. For the March quarter, HUL reported an increase of 12.74 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,601 crore. Net sales rose 10.83 per cent to Rs 14,926 crore. However, HUL warned the near-term operating environment is likely to remain volatile due to global slowdown risk and uncertainty related to weather phenomena like El Nino and heatwaves. Abneesh Roy, Nuvama Group Executive Director for Institutional Equities, said the outlook for the <keyword id="495979" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fmcg-industry" source="Orion">FMCG industry</keyword> was "positive" with volume growth and improvement in margins for most companies in FY24. "As raw material prices are cooling off, companies shall start paring prices via grammage increase or gradual price reductions. Price growth shall ease while volume growth will improve," he said. Roy also cautioned about the impact of El Nino and the "aggression" from billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd, a known disrupter, which aims to be a big player in the USD 110-billion FMCG segment. Meanwhile, Godrej Consumer reported an 11.47 per cent increase in its India revenue to Rs 1,822.92 crore in the March quarter. This was led by volume growth of 11 per cent. Its home care segment, which consists of household insecticides and air fresheners, grew 14 per cent and 17 per cent, respectively. "We expect to build on the current momentum and deliver volume-led growth along with upfront marketing investments and improvement in profitability," said its Managing Director and CEO Sudhir Sitapati. Britannia Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Varun Berry also expressed optimism. "Volume growth will be certainly much better than this year," he said. On commodity prices, Berry said there is deflation in prices of palm oil, laminates and corrugated material for packing but flour and milk prices are soaring. "There are certain brands and certain packs where we have already initiated price reductions or promotions," he said. In the March quarter, Britannia reported a 47.53 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 557.60 crore. Its revenue from operations rose 10.93 per cent to Rs 3,892.02. Similarly, Dabur reported volume growth of 11 per cent during the March quarter and 14 per cent for FY23. Its quarterly net profit was Rs 292.76 crore and revenue from operations stood at Rs 2,677.8 crore. "Despite near-term concerns around inflationary pressures, we plan to accelerate the growth momentum by continuing to invest in brand building, innovation, and capabilities that will drive growth," said Dabur India CEO Mohit Malhotra. Other companies also recorded growth. ITC's revenue from the FMCG segment rose 19.34 per cent to Rs 4,951.17 crore from Rs 4,148.62 crore while EBITDA jumped 76 per cent. Nestle, the maker of Maggi, Kitkat and Nescafe, reported an increase of 24.69 per cent in its net profit to Rs 736.64 crore in the March quarter. Sales rose 20.43 per cent to Rs 4,808.40 crore. Tata Consumer reported a 21.12 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 289.56 crore. Its revenue from operations was up 13.96 per cent at Rs 3,618.73 crore. Tata Consumer said it recorded growth in the India beverages business and food. It had a "strong margin growth and strong topline growth driven both by volume and price," the company said in its earnings call. "We have started seeing volume growth coming back. The impact of inflation and monetary tightening on economic growth and demand seems to be slowing down, but I would keep my fingers crossed and monitor it closely," said Tata Consumer MD and CEO Sunil D'Souza. "In the near term, we are seeing stability." FMCG makers expect sustained recovery in volume and margins with price reduction in FY24

Info Edge Info Edge said its investee company Zomato had raised $160 million (₹1,173 crore) in funding from Tiger Global and Temasek Holdings subsidiary MacRitchie Investments, valuing the online food ordering platform at $3.3 billion. The shares of Info Edge closed 3.30% higher on September 10. HAL The state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) reported a 74% drop in its net profit to ₹148.7 for the first quarter ended June 30. The company’s overall revenue was down 47% compared to the same period last year. The shares of HAL closed 3.24% higher on Thursday. Maruti Suzuki The promoter of India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki— Suzuki Motor Corporation acquired 2.84 lakh shares from September 8-9. The shares of Maruti Suzuki closed almost flat on Thursday. Hindustan Copper Hindustan Copper reported a 40% jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹29.8 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. Analysts believe Indian railways require an estimated ₹50 trillion between 2018-2030 to strengthen its infrastructure, electrification and signaling process. “We expect capital expenditure allocation for railways to be increased substantially,” said analysts at KR Choksey. Railway stocks have been buzzing for the last one month on expectation of significant budget allocation

New Delhi, Adani Solar Energy Kutchh One Limited, a step-down subsidiary of <keyword id="4343578" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Green">Adani Green</keyword> Energy Limited (AGEL) has commissioned 150 MW solar power <keyword id="6355739" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Project">project</keyword>. In a regulatory filing, Adani Green said that despite all the challenges of global pandemic Covid-19, unprecedented rain and flood in Kutchh, Gujarat, the company's team of experts made it possible to commission the project three months prior to its scheduled commissioning date. This plant has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at Rs 2.67/kWh for a period of 25 years. With this commissioning, AGEL's total operational renewable capacity grows to 3,125 MW. "The plant will be connected to our state-of-the-art Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC) that continuously monitors and analyses performance of 80+ solar and wind plants across diverse locations in India," it said. With the commissioning of this project, AGEL has total renewable capacity of 14,795 MW including 11,670 MW awarded and under implementation projects. Speaking on this development, Vneet S. Jaain, MD &amp; CEO, <keyword id="3828442" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Green-Energy-Ltd">Adani Green Energy Ltd</keyword> said: "This is third solar plant commissioned by AGEL over a span of less than a month." "The trend demonstrates our sharp focus on timely project delivery and our long-term vision to achieve renewable capacity of 25 GW by 2025. It also reinforces AGEL's commitment to lead India's transition towards a greener future through a strategic approach and operational excellence," the CEO said.
