The reporting of Intelligence Bureau is to remain with Shah, <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/amit-shah-empowers-his-ministers-of-state/articleshow/69867231.cms">according to reports</a>. The Jammu and Kashmir division was headed by Hansraj Ahir and northeast division was headed by <keyword id="638723" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kiren-Rijiju">Kiren Rijiju</keyword>, Shah’s predecessor <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword>. The key divisions of Jammu and Kashmir, the northeast, Union Territory, cyber security and counter-radicalisation, are assigned to G Kishan Reddy, while centre-state division, Police-I (that looks after transfer postings of IPS officers), foreigners divisions among others are assigned to Nityanand Rai. Shah will look after all decisions involving Cabinet matters and President’s house, besides IB. Reportedly, Shah has also tasked the two deputies with taking presentation from every division at the home ministry for better sync in their functioning. The home minister also reviewed details regarding the functioning of the MHA on the first day of taking charge at the North Block. In a first time ever, both the northeast and Jammu and Kashmir divisions have been allocated to the same minister of state. G Kishan Reddy is a three-time MLA and is a first-term MP from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana. Nityanand Rai, who won from the Ujiarpur constituency in Bihar, has also been assigned incharge of women safety division, that was created last year following the Kathua rape case. Rai will also head the Left-wing extremism (LWE) division, that looks at anti-Maoist operations, besides disaster management and police modernisation division, as reported by officials. There are 24 ministers of state in the present council of ministers and six other ministers of state with independent charge.

The government on Wednesday said there has been no infiltration along the Sino-Indian border in the last six months, while 47 infiltration bids have been reported along the <keyword id="143023" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indo-Pak-border">Indo-Pak border</keyword> during the period. The Union Home Ministry also informed the Rajya Sabha that 594 attempts of infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani militants have been reported in the last three years, of which 312 were successful. "No infiltration has been reported along Indo-China border during last six months," Union Minister of State for Home Nityanad Rai said in a written response to a question. Replying a separate question, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said 582 terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir by security forces in last three years, while 46 terrorists were arrested during the period. As many as 76 army personnel were also killed in Jammu and Kashmir from 2018 till September 8 this year, he said. No infiltration along India-China border in last six months, says Union Minister Nityanad Rai

New Delhi, Mar 12 () The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Thursday dismissed a petition by the promoters of Ferro Alloys Corporation challenging sale of the debt-ridden firm to Vedanta group firm Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd.An NCLAT bench headed by Chairperson Justice S J Mukhopadhaya upheld the order of the Cuttack Bench of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), which had approved Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd's (SPTL) bid for Ferro Alloys Corporation observing that the order was passed with "proper application of mind and conform to the proposition of law".Rejecting the plea from Ram Kishan Saraf and Rai Bahadur Shree Ram and Company, the appellate tribunal said that they "cannot question the commercial wisdom of the Committee of Creditors" in selection of a resolution plan. Earlier, the Committee of Creditor (CoC) had approved Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd's (SPTL) bid by 95.15 per cent of voting share, which was subsequently also passed by the NCLT on January 30, 2020.While, approving it, the NCLT had also rejected the settlement proposal from the promoters, which was challenged by them before the appellate tribunal.However, the NCLAT also rejected it by observing "the Appellants cannot question the commercial wisdom of the CoC in rejecting the settlement proposal emanating from the Appellants, with the requisite majority and in approving the Resolution Plan of SPTL."The NCLAT also observed that "no material irregularity in Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process before the Resolution Professional has been demonstrated.""Merely because the Adjudicating Authority (NCLT) has declined to direct reconsideration of the already rejected settlement proposal of Appellants does not impinge upon the legality and conformity of the approved Resolution Plan with the conditions stated in Section 32 of the I&amp;B Code," it said."We find that the impugned orders have been passed on proper application of mind and conform to the proposition of law," said NCLAT adding that "we find no merit in these appeals and same are dismissed."Ferro Alloys is India's largest and established producers and exporters of high carbon ferro chrome/charge chrome worldwide, an essential ingredient for the manufacture of steel and stainless steel.It operates Ferro Manganese Plant in Shreeramnagar, Andhra Pradesh to produce Ferro Manganese. The <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> candidate Ravi Kishan easily wins the constituency, securing more than 60% of the votes. His closest rival, Rambual Nishad from the SP, won 35% of the votes. Fielding a Bhojpuri actor, Ravi Kishan who is largely an outsider, was in line with the BJP’s strategy of fielding celebrities and big name candidates in crucial constituencies, like Gautam Gambhir in East Delhi for example.
