But does it stand true to the claims? And where does it sit in the market today, considering Redmi also has plenty of options in this price range. I will tell you in my full review. Although not everyone's favorite location, it's a valuable feature for those who use both Bluetooth and wired earphones. Another standout feature is the inclusion of an IR blaster, which is becoming rare in modern devices. Although not frequently utilized, it can prove to be helpful in emergencies, such as when TV remote batteries run out or when multiple devices need to be controlled with a single remote. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is quick and efficient, allowing fast unlocking of the device. While some might prefer an under-display fingerprint sensor, its current placement remains a matter of personal preference and not a major issue. Regarding fit and finish, the buttons, like the volume rockers, boast excellent quality. The panel impresses with its brightness, reaching a peak of 900 nits, ensuring a well-lit and evenly illuminated experience indoors. However, outdoor visibility can be challenging, so it's best to disable auto-brightness and manually adjust it when needed. The display supports a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz, providing smooth motion for all on-screen content. Reading articles or playing games on the Redmi 12 is a delight, thanks to the smooth and immersive experience it offers. Throughout my two-week experience with the Redmi 12, including a holiday week, it became my go-to device for content bingeing. It handles HD formats flawlessly on various OTT applications, and I particularly enjoyed watching Marvel's Secret Invasion on Disney+ Hotstar. The colors were slightly on the colder side, but it didn't significantly impact the overall experience. The sharp output allowed me to catch every detail, although the HDR performance could be further improved as black levels occasionally suffered. Regarding audio, the Redmi 12 has a single bottom-firing speaker setup, which is not its strongest aspect. At times, the audio output felt underwhelming, so I'd recommend using TWS earbuds or wired earphones to fully enjoy your content with improved sound quality. Software The Redmi 12 series comes with the advantage of shipping with Android 13 out of the box, along with the latest MiUi 13. This sets it apart from its Note siblings, which originally came with Android 12 upon release. Redmi 12 continues the brand's efforts to minimize bloatware, although there are some unwanted additions to the skin, such as the Opera browser and a suggested games tab. Thankfully, users have the option to uninstall some of these pre-installed apps. Considering the price point, the controlled bloatware on this device is commendable. The MiUi 13 on the Redmi 12 maintains the familiar and colorful animations we are accustomed to on Redmi devices. The user interface is designed to be accessible to a wide range of users, and it achieves this with its clean and straightforward layout. Customization options abound, offering a variety of wallpapers and themes to choose from. Personally, I prefer the stock skin as it looks the best to me. One common issue with third-party skins is their deviation from Google's layout, especially in areas like the drop-down menu. I find the big, chunky tiles of the Google skin layout easier to interact with and visually appealing. This observation isn't specific to Redmi but applies generally to various skins.The Asus <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/asusrogphone6review/articleshow/95862437.cms">ROG Phone 6</a> stands out as a successful example of integrating these different skins seamlessly. The UI has proven to be stable throughout my experience, and I have not encountered any troublesome bugs. I tested it with COD: Mobile, running the game smoothly on high-quality graphics and very high frame rates. The flat display and strong internet connection contributed to a fluid gaming experience, making me feel almost invincible in the game. Even Asphalt 9 performed well, with no noticeable heating issues. However, gaming with a lower battery, especially under 25% and with maxed out settings at a 90Hz refresh rate, may lead to some warmth on the device, as the vapor chamber cooling might struggle to keep up. The variant I have comes with 8GB of RAM and an optional RAM boost of 4GB, which surprisingly made a difference, especially with heavier apps. The smartphone was able to handle them for longer periods without any noticeable slowdowns. During my two weeks of usage, the Redmi 12 demonstrated lightning-fast boot-up speeds, whether launching heavy apps or lightweight ones like calculator and weather As for storage, the variant with me offers 256GB of internal storage, which should be more than sufficient for most users. However, if you prefer using cloud storage solutions, the 128GB option should also be enough. The battery performance of the Redmi 12 Pro stands out as its strongest feature, thanks to its 5000mAh battery. On heavy usage days involving camera usage, constant social media activity, and all-day content consumption, the smartphone provided an average screen on time of 5 hours. On lighter days, where activities were limited to emails and WhatsApp, the screen time increased to about 6 hours. Better yet, the camera can hold details respectably across 1X, 6X, and 10X digital zoom. Portrait shots from the device are decent, with the 2MP depth sensor adding value to the setup. The edge detection is satisfactory, and I also liked the black-and-white portrait shots from the camera. Low light performance from the camera is decent, but you will compromise on details on most days. The output can be grainy, even with the night mode on, and the prolonged post-processing of the image gets annoying. Some casual shots are not a problem, but expecting quality shots might lead to disappointment. The video output from the Redmi 12 maxes out at 1080P 30 fps, which is not stellar but not shabby either. Yes, it’s not meant for professionals to shoot videos, but coupled with features like dual video, your experience becomes wholesome. The front camera is a 8MP shooter, which holds up well. With proper lighting, the color reproduction and the details are on point, but the results dip in low lighting conditions. The AI here as well works smoothly, and the alterations here do not look fake but rather enhance the output. The edge detection in portrait mode is also spot on. The selfie camera can also record 1080P videos at 30fps, and the results are really good for the price, especially paired with the crisp audio output. Verdict Redmi 12 5G proves to be a solid entry level device for buyers looking at budget options. The smartphone gets the basics right with a big display, decent processor and an efficient battery life. However it does lag behind in terms of camera performance. However, if you can stretch your budget, then you should check out the Redmi Note 12 or the Nord CE 3 Lite. Both the devices deliver a more balanced performance without putting a dent in your pocket.

The user experience hasn’t changed when compared to other Samsung devices. It does come with some bloatware in the form of pre-installed applications, but these can be uninstalled easily. Coming to the performance, the Galaxy A54 5G is equipped with the company’s own Exynos 1380 chipset. The device is offered in two variants – 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. I tested the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. While the device can handle day-to-day tasks, there are occasional stutters while multitasking. I did notice any issues in normal usage I tried popular titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Asphalt 9 on the device. The device offers a good gaming experience, even with Full HD graphics. The performance deteriorates slightly after extended gaming periods as the device gets slightly hot after gaming for a while. The Galaxy A54 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and offers 25W charging. Despite its competition offering much fast charging, Samsung continues to offer slow charging with its devices. The device sports a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front. The selfie camera performs well and can capture good images in situations with good light. Sporting a 6.8-inch screen, it's larger not only than the Note 10, but also than any Note to date.The Note 10, by contrast, is actually smaller than the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/galaxy-note-9-review-2018-8">Note 9</a>, with a 6.3-inch screen. That's a heck of a lot of extra screen and could make a difference if you're using your Note for gaming, video editing, or art. On the other hand, casual users may appreciate the more compact model. The Note 10 doesn't feel like a giant, cumbersome phone. At 5.93 ounces, it's remarkably light and comfortable to hold. The Plus is only a bit heavier at 6.9 ounces, but I could feel the difference. As someone with small hands, I could barely keep hold of it - most people won't be able to use it with one hand. Both phones have a dynamic AMOLED+, HDR10+-certified screen made of Corning's latest Gorilla Glass 6. The Note 10 Plus has a higher-resolution screen, however, at 1,440 x 3,040 pixels to the Note 10's 1,020 x 2,280 pixels. You may notice the difference if you're looking hard for it, but most people won't. Finally, there are slight differences in color availability. Both Notes come in Aura Black, Aura White, and the iridescent Aura Glow, but only the Note 10 Plus comes in the dark Aura Blue. If you're dead set on a blue phone, the Note 10 Plus is your move. <h2>Cameras</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/1565710943567ay3n2qzt7/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-note10/buy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a>Samsung</div></div></div>Samsung slapped the same sensors and lenses that are in its Galaxy S10 on the Note 10 and 10 Plus. In other words, these phones have excellent cameras.In both devices, you'll find a triple-camera array on the back. You get a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. There's a 10-megapixel camera on the front. The Note 10 Plus has an extra sensor that helps create portrait mode-esque depth effects. Apart from that, both cameras have the same advanced features, including a Live Focus Mode that auto-focuses on subjects while you film video, and a Zoom-In Mic feature that filters out background sound while you record audio. Until we're able to test both phones more thoroughly, we can't speak definitively to the difference in photo quality. But unless you need to shoot a lot of high-end portraits, the extra sensor isn't likely to tip the scales either way. Both phones' cameras are top notch.<h2>Specs and performance</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/1565710943567ay3n2qzt7/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-note10/buy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a>Antonio Villas-Boas/Business Insider</div></div></div>Both phones are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset (not to be confused with the upgraded 855+, which will power some competing flagships, including the Asus ROG). The Note 10 Plus differentiates itself in three areas. First, RAM: The Note 10 Plus packs in 12GB of RAM, while the Note 10 only has 8GB. In theory, this means you'll better be able to multitask and run apps in the background with the Note 10 Plus. However, unless your current phone is lagging, or you find yourself constantly having to re-open apps, 8GB of RAM is likely enough for you. For context, the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-iphone-xs-max-review-2018-11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone XS Max</a> and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/google-pixel-3-xl-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pixel 3 XL</a> both have just 4GB RAM, while the Note 9 has 6GB. Second differentiator: storage. This is one area where the Note 10 is an upgrade from the Note 9: It carries 256GB, while the Note 9's base model had just 128GB. However, the Note 10 lacks a MicroSD-card slot, so you're stuck with the 256GB that you get. The Note 10 Plus comes in 256GB and 512GB variations. It also has a MicroSD slot, meaning you could add <a href="https://www.tomsguide.com/us/sandisk-1-tb-microsd-card,news-30079.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">up to a terabyte</a> of storage to it if you were so inclined. I imagine 256GB is more than enough storage for most people - but if you need more than that, get the Note 10 Plus. Finally, the Note 10 Plus is the only model that's compatible with 5G. Note, however, that the <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/biip_080919_samsung-galaxy-note-10-vs-galaxy-note-10-plus/https://www.verizonwireless.com/onedp/configuration?deviceid=dev12240067&amp;sorSkuId=SMN976VZSV&amp;contractTerm=99&amp;loanTerm=36&amp;deviceLineItemId=T01d2298e29805b0831dcc0defefd0e10_device_76217618&amp;cartEdit=false#/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Note 10 Plus 5G</a> costs $1,299 for 256GB and $1,399 for 512GB, and is a Verizon exclusive. Unlike the regular Note 10 Plus, it isn't available in blue. <h2>Battery life</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/1565710943567ay3n2qzt7/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-note10/buy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a>Antonio Villas-Boas/Business Insider</div></div></div>The Note 10 Plus has the biggest battery of any Samsung flagship yet, clocking in at a whopping 4,300mAh. The Note 10 has a smaller battery not only than the Note 10 Plus, but also its predecessor the Note 9, at just 3,500mAh.This means we can expect the Note 10 to last longer, but we can't say how much longer until we've gotten the chance to test both. For perspective, the Note 9, with a 4,000mAh battery, lasted around 11.5 hours, so you can expect the Note 10 to last a bit less, and the Note 10 Plus to last a bit longer.<h2>Pricing and (early) conclusion</h2><a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/1565710943567ay3n2qzt7/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-note10/buy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Samsung/YouTube</div></div></div></a>Arguably, the biggest differentiator between these two phones is the price. The Galaxy Note 10 is $949, a discount from the $999 Note 9. The Note 10 Plus is $1,099 for the 256GB version, $1,199 for the 512GB version, and $1,299 and $1,399 for those models with 5G respectively. My guess is that most shoppers are choosing between the $949 Note 10 and the $1,099 or $1,199 versions of the Note 10 Plus. And there's no denying that the Note 10 Plus packs in a number of improvements. The question for you is: How much are those improvements worth?Let's be clear: The Note 10 is not really the Note 10. The Note 10 Plus is the true Note 10. It's an improvement from the previous Note, the Note 9, in every way. The phone that Samsung has named the Note 10 is really the Note 10e: It's cheaper than the Note 9, and while it's an upgrade in some categories (storage, processor, S-Pen features), it's a downgrade in others (including battery, display resolution, and price). The Galaxy Note lineup has always been for power users. The Note's target customer knows how much RAM is in the phone, the screen's resolution, and the size of the battery. The power user is taking action photos, shooting and editing video, gaming, and using all the fancy augmented-reality features the S Pen has to offer.If you're one of these users, you're upgrading from the Note 9, and you want the next big Samsung flagship, you should be getting the Note 10 Plus. If you're someone for whom an extra 256GB of storage, an extra 4GB RAM, 5G, a fancy camera lens, or a half inch of extra screen space makes a big difference, the Note 10 Plus may be worth a few hundred extra bucks.I would contend, however, that this is not the case for most people. If you mostly use your phone for texting, Netflix, Instagram stories, and the occasional game of Words With Friends, you don't need 512GB of storage. You don't need a 4,300mAh battery. The Note 10's screen resolution and RAM, while not the best Samsung has to offer, will probably suit you just fine. Your Instagram stories will still look great. For most people, the Note 10 Plus offers bonuses, but not necessities.
