Safety would be given priority now. Safety features will be introduced in all variants, without any discrimination, a company official of the country’s largest carmaker <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> said today. 

	Currently, auto-manufacturers introduce safety features only in middle and top variants of some existing models. 
 "We are working on making safety features as standard feature in all existing products of ours. We are planning to introduce a model fitted with safety features ahead of the government's regulation," said Maruti <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) <keyword id="2523416" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="R-S-Kalsi">R S Kalsi</keyword>.

Maruti Suzuki to focus on safety features now

<keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> has posted 29.4% increase in its domestic passenger vehicle sales in September, others including Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, <keyword id="106216" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ford-India">Ford India</keyword> and <keyword id="118748" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toyota-Kirloskar-Motor">Toyota Kirloskar Motor</keyword> posted high single digit growth rates. 
 Thanks to a good monsoons, the <keyword id="1482858" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Seventh-Pay-Commission">Seventh Pay Commission</keyword> and reasonable inflation, the country's largest car maker’s domestic sales were at 1,37,321 units as against 1,06,083 units in the same month last year. This was the company's best ever monthly sales beating the previous best of 1,25,778 in July this year. 
 "The numbers are reflection of popularity, appreciation and acceptance of our range of models. Ciaz, Baleno, Vitara Brezza, S Cross continue to show good numbers and with customers support, they have emerged segment leaders," <keyword id="6392170" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="MSI">MSI</keyword> Executive Director Marketing &amp; Sales R S <keyword id="357155" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kalsi">Kalsi</keyword> told a news agency. 
 
The company's sales of mini segment cars, including Alto and WagonR models, were at 44,395 during the month as against 35,570 units in the year-ago period, up 24.8 %. 
 
The compact segment comprising Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno and Dzire models clocked sales of 50,324 units compared with 44,826 in September last year, up 12.3 %. 
 Utility vehicles consisting of Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and <keyword id="856840" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ertiga">Ertiga</keyword> saw sales of 18,423 units as against 6,331 in September last year, a jump of 191 %, the report added. 
 <keyword id="6374528" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Toyota">Toyota</keyword> Kirloskar Motor reported 6 % increase in domestic sales at 12,067 units in September as against 11,376 units in the same month last year. 
 "The recently launched <keyword id="3231108" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Innova-Crysta">Innova Crysta</keyword> has received an overwhelming response from the market, including Delhi and <keyword id="53426" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="NCR">NCR</keyword> region," TKM Director and Senior VP, Sales &amp; Marketing N Raja said, adding the lifting of the ban on diesel cars and SUVs with engine capacity of 2,000 cc and above has resulted in a waiting period of of 1.5 to 2 months for diesel Innova Crysta in Delhi. 
Ford India said its domestic sales rose 9% to 9,018 units last month as against 8,274 units in the same period a year ago.

Maruti Suzuki, Ford and Toyota’s increase in sale is a proof that Indians are buying cars like never before

<keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword>, India's largest carmaker is seeing a rising demand for its recently launched premium hatchback Baleno, which is why it has decided to speed up the production and reduce the waiting period. 
 
As per reports, its Japanese parent company Suzuki Motor Corp is also expected to start pilot production at the plant based in Gujarat by January-March quarter of 2017. This plant will exclusively supply vehicles and components to Maruti Suzuki. 
 
"We are making all possible efforts to de-bottleneck the lines and enhance production (of Baleno)," said R S Kalsi, executive director, (marketing and sales), MSIL. 
 
"We have wonderful products in our portfolio like Baleno, S-cross, Vitara and Brezza, which are doing very well in the market. Waiting period is also there (for these vehicles)," he added. 
 
MSIL currently has over 45,000 outstanding bookings of both Baleno and Brezza, with Baleno’s waiting period ranging from 6 to 8 months, depending on the variant. 
 
The past few months have seen MSIL doubling its production to around 12,000 a month, so that it can meet both the domestic and export demands. 
 
"It is not only Maruti Suzuki alone. There are close to 250 (company) vendors in the supply chain. They also need to ramp up their production, investments and capacities. So, it takes time. Towards the second part of the year, we would be able to increase the volume," Kalsi added.

Baleno demand is on a high, Maruti to speed up production

This reduction in rate by the RBI has assured that the growth will be achieved," said <keyword id="103788" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor-India-Ltd">Hyundai Motor India Ltd</keyword> (HMIL) Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Rakesh Srivastava. 
 
The reduction in interest rates will reduce cost of ownership and help the automakers get more customers. Automakers generally expect higher sales during the months of October and November when Durga Puja, Diwali and other festivals are celebrated. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=maruti+suzuki">Maruti Suzuki India</a> Executive Director Marketing and Sales R S Kalsi also echoed the same sentiments. 
 
“The market so far has been moving very slowly but with this (rate cut) sentiments will improve. It gives the much-needed boost to the market in the pre-festive season,” said Kalsi. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=hero+motocorp">Hero MotoCorp Chairman and MD Pawan Munjal</a> also lauded the rate cut and said it came at an opportune time as it will help in raising customer sentiment during the festival season.

Raghuram Rajan is the auto sector’s latest messiah!

Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest automaker, has declared that Ciaz, its mid-sized sedan, has crossed the golden milestone of one lakh cumulative sales in the Indian market last month. 
 
It took the car nearly two years, since its launch in October 2014, to touch the milestone of 1 lakh cumulative sales. Until June 2016, Maruti Suzuki has sold a total of 1,00,272 units of the said sedan. 
 
"Today, Ciaz is the largest-selling sedan in the A3+ segment. It has enabled us to achieve a market share of 40 per cent in the premium sedan segment," said R S Kalsi, MSI Executive Director, Marketing and Sales. 
 
A statement from the company said that the first five months of 2016, Ciaz saw average monthly sales of more than 5,000 units. 
 
Priced between Rs 7.53 lakh and Rs 9.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the car comes in varieties of petrol and diesel SHVS.

Maruti Ciaz crosses the milestone of 1 lakh total sales in India

<keyword id="6365618" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki-India">Maruti Suzuki India</keyword>’s hatchback <keyword id="1964178" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Celerio">Celerio</keyword> has crossed the one lakh sales mark the company announced today. This comes almost a year and a half after the car was launched at the Delhi Auto Expo in February last year. 
 
"Celerio is the first car in India to introduce the acclaimed auto gear shift technology and almost one-third of sales are of auto gear shift variants," Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, R S Kalsi said. 
 
Celerio offer two transmission options - manual and auto gear shift, and is available in petrol, CNG and diesel options.

Maruti Celerio sales touch one lakh in India

Relaunched in the <keyword id="47445" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indian-market">Indian market</keyword> two days ago with an aim to gain significant market share, <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword>’s <keyword id="6379565" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="baleno">Baleno</keyword> has kept to the promise. The premium hatchback received over 4,600 bookings, a top company official said today. "We have been receiving overwhelming bookings ahead of its national launch. On the day of the launch, over 1,500 visitors visited our showrooms and 600 of them booked while on the second day, 3,500 visited the showrooms and 1,200 booked. Total booking figures will be over 4,600," Maruti <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), R S Kalsi said. Stating that Baleno would be exported to 100 countries, he said, "We have invested about Rs 1,060 crore in this project (manufacturing of Baleno). We will be making exports to 100 overseas locations including Europe, Japan, <keyword id="26945" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="South-America">South America</keyword> in 2016." 

	Baleno was introduced as a premium sedan few years back, but due to poor sales, its production was stopped. 
 The car would compete with <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> Motor India's Elite i20 and Jazz from <keyword id="20630" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Honda">Honda</keyword> cars in India.

Baleno comes back with a bash, 4600 bookings in 2 days

Maruti Suzuki is going to turn India into its global manufacturing hub for its upcoming premium compact car ‘Baleno’, which will debut in India on October 26. 
 
Suzuki, which has 56% stake in Maruti, will start exporting its upcoming ‘Baleno’ to over 100 countries, including Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, etc. 
 
This is Maruti Suzuki's first attempt in the premium compact segment and will make a. Baleno was unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will compete with Hyundai's Elite i20 and Honda's Jazz, among others. 
 
Baleno will have a 1.2litre petrol engine (manual and automatic variants) and 1.3-litre diesel engine. 
 
"Baleno has been developed for the global markets and India will be the exclusive manufacturing hub for the car," R S Kalsi, executive director (marketing and sales) at Maruti Suzuki, told TOI here. 
 
This will be a big achievement for the company and workers at Manesar factory said that it was a proud moment for them as a vehicle made at Indian facility will be sold in Japan. 
 
After S-Cross, Baleno will be the second car to be sold through Maruti's premium retail network 'Nexa'.

‘Made in India’ Maruti Baleno to ply on international roads soon

Maruti is in an image revamp mode. India’s largest car maker in terms of volumes have been a trusted name when it came to sub 5 lakh cars in Indian roads. People willing to buy premium cars were earlier shying away from Maruti and were more invited by Honda, Hyundai and Toyota, thanks to their premium offering. 
 
But things are changing for better for this Indian automaker. 
 
The elites with shining wallet willing to pay for a premium car from Maruti would no more need to wait for their turns at showrooms jostling with Alto buyers as Maruti Suzuki is launching high end showrooms to market cars with a price tag above Rs 8 lakh. 
 
The NEXA-branded showrooms, which will start operating from Phoenix Mills in Mumbai, Brigade Road of Bengaluru and Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills would not sell Alto , WagonR and would only concentrate on premium cars. 
 
In a news report by The Economic Times, the upcoming premium crossover, S Cross, will be the first model to be sold through the NEXA outlets - the vehicle's launch is expected within a month. The company has already formed a new organizational structure in place led by Partho Banerjee and his team. The company will have over 100 new outlets under NEXA brand by the end of this fiscal year, a feat which has taken more than 3-4 years for its MNC rivals. 
 
The vehicles sold through NEXA outlets will carry a Suzuki logo, but won’t carry a Maruti Suzuki nameplate. 
 
It hired more than 700 sales staff with experience in the hospitality and aviation sectors - people who are trained in the nuances of dealing with wealthy customers. They have their soft skills honed further by global experts like Dale Carnegie. The designing for the showrooms is done by Hakuhodo, the Japanese agency that has worked on Nissan's Infiniti showrooms in the US, the ET report confirms. 
 
In May, ET had reported about Maruti's plans to have a separate NEXA channel to sell premium vehicles. 
 
R S Kalsi, executive director, sales and marketing at Maruti Suzuki told ET, with an eye on achieving 2 million sales by end of 2020, the company is embarking on a new phase with NEXA. Kalsi says, in the first phase (1983 to 1993) of Maruti's presence, the company offered new products to the starved Indian buyers, between 1993 to 2003, focus moved towards offering complete solution of finance, insurance, accessories, buy back along with the car, with NEXA Maruti wants to take the buying experience to the whole new level 
 
"The new channel is aimed at offering a very personalised experience of today's evolved buyers and we think S Cross is an ideal product to offer NEXA experience," added Kalsi. 
 
At launch, Maruti will have 30 NEXA outlets ready, thus covering over 65 per cent of premium end of the market. 
 
Maruti intends to offer pick and drop facility from the customer's doorstep for a NEXA visit, something common in the luxury-car market. While the company is beginning with the S Cross, it may eventually add the Ciaz sedan and premium hatchback YRA to the sales channel. 
 
Pradeep Saxena, ED at market research firm TNS Automotive told the financial daily, a separate channel will help Maruti Suzuki as the prospective buyers will be different and they will require a different kind of experience. He thinks the concept can work, people expect more attention and they will get more attention. 
"We all know Maruti because of its distribution strength, through premium channel, you are forcing people to come to a specific shop. So there could be trade off between offering better treatment and in-convenience of traveling longer. So Maruti Suzuki will have to deal with it," said Saxena, while talking to the financial daily.

Maruti Suzuki adds snob value to its India Biz

In order to maintain the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Marutis-sales-rose-16-in-March-making-it-a-good-way-to-end-FY-15-16/articleshow/51648291.cms" target="_BLANK￿￿￿￿">double-digit growth rate</a> that it had in the last fiscal, India's largest car maker <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> has decided to add one new car and a new variant of an existing model to its portfolio. Both the cars will be retailed only through Nexa, its premium dealership network. 
 
The New Delhi headquartered company will be rolling out a compact vehicle, christened as Ignis, while also launching a version of the Baleno compact which would be sold as RS variant. 
 
"We plan to drive in these two cars around the festive season," said Maruti Suzuki director (marketing and sales) R S Kalsi. As of now, the Nexa stores sell the S-Cross crossover and Baleno, because they are positioned as more upmarket and premium. 
 
The new compact car Ignis will be pitched to customers as a smart city car. Even though Nexa stores don’t have the variety of small cars, the company hopes to widen the choice at Nexa outlets with Ignis. Ignis was showcased at the auto expo at Greater Noida at the beginning of this year, describing it as a "smart compact urban vehicle". 
 
Baleno’s RS variant will come with a 1-litre direct injection, turbo-charged petrol engine, which would be more fuel-efficient, smaller in size and able to deliver a power output higher to the existing 1.2-litre petrol variant. It will carry a bold and aggressive design language, so that it can be pitched as a sportier variant. 
 
Baleno, which has been named after an earlier model from the company, has seen a sale of around 45,000 units. On the other hand, another new car from Maruti, Vitara Brezza, has seen over 38,000 bookings so far.

Maruti Suzuki is on a roll, will launch a new car Ignis and a Baleno variant this year

Country's largest car maker <keyword id="6365618" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki-India">Maruti Suzuki India</keyword> (MSI) today said its premium hatchback Swift has crossed 13 lakh sales milestone since its launch in 2005. 
 
"Over 1.3 million Swift cars have been bought in India so far, transforming the landscape of the Indian auto industry and inspiring new products, market segments and categories," MSI Executive Director (Marketing &amp; Sales), R S Kalsi said in a statement. 
 
Since its launch, the company brought in minor changes in the Swift twice in 2007 and 2014 while a full model change took place once in 2011. 
 
Swift touched one lakh unit sales mark in 2007 and it crossed two lakh sales mark one year later in 2008. In January 2010, the model touched 5 lakh units mark and in September 2013 the model achieved 10 lakh sales milestone in the country. 
 Diesel variant of the car was first introduced in 2007. Swift, which was showcased as a concept in Paris Motor Show in 2002, was first launched in Japanese market in November 2004. It made its way to the <keyword id="47445" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indian-market">Indian market</keyword> in May 2005.

After e-tailers and rental car sector, major car manufacturers including <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India, <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> Motor and <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> are offering various schemes this festival season, including discounts of up to Rs 37,000 to push up sales. 

	Market leader Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is offering cash discounts, ranging from Rs 5,000 on its hatchback Celerio to Rs 35,000 on entry level Alto800. 
 

	Besides, the carmaker is giving discounts on other models including Wagon R, Stingray and Dzire but no such offers are on recent launches like Ciaz. 
 

	"Customers are already responding very positively to our current sales promotion schemes and booking is seeing an uptrend. For the forthcoming festive season the excitement has begun," MSI Executive Director (M&amp;S), RS Kalsi told PTI. 
 

	The company has already introduced six festive and limited editions like Alto 800 Onam edition, WagonR Avance, Swift Glory, Alto K10 Urbano, he added. 
 

	"Many more festive models are in pipeline including automatic and SHVS (Hybrid). And of course, we will soon bring the premium hatchback Baleno to the Indian customers. Bookings for Baleno are due to open next week, after we share the information about the car," Kalsi said. 
 

	Rival Hyundai Motor is offering the maximum discount of Rs 37,000 on its entry level model Eon, followed by i10 and Grand i10 (Rs 27,000 each). 
 

	The carmaker is also offering discount of up to Rs 28,000 on compact sedan Xcent and Rs 15,000 off on mid-size sedan Verna. There are no discounts on high selling models i20 and recently launched compact sports utility vehicle Creta. 
 <keyword id="4581" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="general-motors">General Motors</keyword> is offering exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 on Beat and Rs 30,000 exchange bonus on Cruze. It is further giving off on other models like Sail (hatchback and sedan), multi-purpose vehicle Enjoy and Tavera. "This is a great time to purchase <keyword id="55200" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chevrolet">Chevrolet</keyword> cars, as customers will get the best value for their money along with complete piece of mind giving them a truly satisfying ownership experience," General Motors India, President and Managing Director, Arvind Saxena said. Japanese car maker <keyword id="46283" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nissan">Nissan</keyword> is also offering discounts adding up to Rs 25,000 on Datsun GO+ for orders booked in the month of October. It is also giving benefit worth Rs 22,000 on Datsun Go. 

	"We are celebrating this festive season by offering special benefits to our customers and an attractively priced Datsun line-up for the Indian customers," Nissan Motor India, Managing Director Arun Malhotra said. 
 

	Another Japanese carmaker Honda is also offering benefits of up to Rs 47,000 on its compact sedan Amaze and multi- purpose vehicle Mobilio. 
 

	In addition, Tata Motors is introducing a special festive season offer under which customers buying Tata cars between October 1 and November 15, stand a chance to win a minimum cash back of Rs 2,000 going up to Rs 50,000. 
 

	The auto major is also looking to launch celebration editions of various models including Bolt, GenX Nano range and Safari Storme, beginning October 13. This range will be on sale till November 15, 2015. 
 

	The company would also introduce Indigo model with special celebration kit and Zest celebration edition as part of the scheme.
