Allu Arjun-starrer "Pushpa: The Rise" has collected over 10 million Rubles at the box office in <keyword id="6358826" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="russia" source="Orion">Russia</keyword>, the makers said on Monday. The <keyword id="13104" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="telugu" source="Orion">Telugu</keyword> blockbuster was released in the Russian language in 774 screens across the country on December 8, said Mythri Movie Makers on its official Twitter page. "#PushpaTheRise is a RAGE in Russia. 25 days and counting of a successful run in 774 screens with a collection of over 10M Rubles," the production banner said in the tweet. Ten million Rubles amount to approximately Rs 13 crore. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, "Pushpa: The Rise" depicts the rise of a low-wage labourer (Arjun) in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of <keyword id="37102" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="andhra-pradesh" source="Orion">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> state. It was released in India in association with Muttamsetty Media on December 17, 2021, and went on to become one of the biggest money-spinners of the year earning over Rs 350 crore. 'Pushpa: The Rise' raises 10 million Rubles at Russia box office

Talking about the August release 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', Arjun said: "You can definitely expect part three, we do want to make it a franchise and we have exciting ideas for the lineup." "A sizzle reel from the Pushpa franchise is being screened on the sidelines of the Berlin European Film Market in order to seed it as a brand for international audiences. There will also be a fan screening of 'Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1', added the actor, while talking to Variety. Berlin will be Arjun's first time in Germany and his first time at a film festival. "I just want to see how people abroad are going to see this film, and try to understand how they view Indian cinema, just understand how film festivals are and what kind of films are watched and what is the mindset of the people that come there," Arjun said. "More than the theatrical reach of 'Pushpa,' the OTT (streaming) reach has been multifold," Arjun said. "A lot of people maybe during the theatrical release have only watched it once or twice. But after it's available on OTT platforms like Amazon, people have watched it multiple times. And because of the OTT platform, there's a lot of crossover audience from other languages, and other regions and neighboring countries. And also it made a noise because it was the biggest film (in India) of 2021. "I didn't find much of a difference the way urban Indians have watched the film and people overseas. And I think urban Indians are similar to global audiences. So all the things that they have liked in terms of the candidness of the film or the performances, I've got similar feedback from urban audiences in India and overseas," Arjun said. 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' is due to release August 15, during the Indian Independence Day holiday frame. "'Pushpa 2' is going to have a very different shade of Pushpa than what you've seen in 'Pushpa 1,' because it is the lower end of the spectrum that you've seen," Arjun said. "You'll see the highest end of the spectrum in terms of characterisation. So you'll see him on a very high note, you'll see him on a very high scale, in terms of characterisation, in terms of this scale and presentation and the canvas of the problems are going to be much bigger than what it was compared to 'Pushpa 1.' It's going to be a bigger canvas, and there is a different dimension to the characterisation." Towards the end of the first part, the character Pushpa assumes de facto control of the syndicate. "Till then it was playing on a regional scale, now it will play on a national and international scale," Arjun said. The news of her demise was shared by her younger daughter Sraboni Sen through Facebook at around 4.30 a.m. Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has expressed condolence for the death of the legendary singer. "I express my condolences over the death of legendary Rabindra Sangeet artist Sumitra Sen. She died in Kolkata on Tuesday. She was 89. She mesmerised millions of Rabindra Sangeet lovers through her performance for years. As a music teacher, also, she was highly regarded by her students," she wrote in her message. Sen was admitted to a city hospital for the last few days and on Monday, she returned home. According to her elder daughter Indrani Sen, despite her declining health, the veteran singer was fully in her senses and was able to recognise each who came to visit her. The legendary singer was born on March 7, 1933. From a very young age she started taking lessons in Rabindra Sangeet and received critic's accolades for her district style. She will be cremated on Tuesday. Because of theatres being shut for several months during the pandemic, Ormax Media has released a combined edition for the two pandemic-impacted years (2020 and 2021). The report analyses the impact of the pandemic on the Indian box office. Compared to gross box office of almost ₹ 11,000 Cr in 2019, the cumulative revenue across 2020 and 2021 put together stood at only ₹ 5,757 Cr (an annual average of less than ₹ 2,900 crore. If 2019 is taken as the benchmark, the Indian film industry lost at least ₹ 15,000 Cr at the box office because of the pandemic. The footfalls also came down from 103.0 Cr in 2019 to 22.5 Cr and 42.7 Cr in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The pandemic years also saw significant changes in the share of different language industries within the Indian film industries. With 29% share of box office (2020 &amp; 2021 cumulative), the Telugu language industry took the top position, ahead of Hindi, whose share declined from 44% to 27%. Four Telugu films (Pushpa, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Sarileru Neekevvaru &amp; Vakeel Saab) feature in the top 10 films across the two years, compared to only three Hindi films (Tanhaji, Sooryavanshi &amp; 83). New Delhi, Feb 21 () India's organic food market is growing at 17 per cent annually and has the potential to grow at a faster pace on rising demand for health and wellness food products across the world, Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said on Friday.Badal and Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Smriti Irani jointly inaugurated an organic food festival for women entrepreneurs at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium here. The festival with a theme ''Unleasing India's Organic Market Potential'' has been organised by both the ministries with CII as the industry partner.More than 180 women entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs) and co-operatives are taking part in this three-day exhibition organised in the national capital during February 21-23.Addressing the event, Badal said the two ministries have come together to give women entrepreneurs in the organic sector "wings to fly and reach the sky". She said this festival would be organised six times a year across India, and the plan is to make it an international exhibition in the near future. She said the entire world is looking towards organic and wellness food, which is required for both physical and mental health."In organic and health foods, India is a power house," Badal said, adding that there are many parts of India which are naturally organic such as Sikkim, hilly states and tribal belts.This organic festival provides a platform to women entrepreneurs to connect with consumers as well as retailers, Badal said."The organic sector in India is growing by almost 17 per cent every year... In times to come, the trend is going to grow much faster," the minister said.Earlier this month, Badal had said the organic food market will touch Rs 75,000 crore in the next five years. Badal said food processing, value addition and organic food would be instrumental in the government's target to double farmers' income."Under the able leadership of Minister of Food Processing, we celebrate the entrepreneurial potential of over 180 women in this segment of organic food under the aegis of this festival," said Irani, who is also the Textile Minister.The government has ensured that women entrepreneurs get Mudra loans to start their venture, Irani said.She said foreign direct investment (FDI) in the food processing sector has increased substantially under the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The government is providing sustainable environment not only to farmers but also to entrepreneurs by engaging them with latest technology in food processing, the WCD minister said.Irani stressed on providing access to latest food processing technology available globally to entrepreneurs, especially women.Apart from women entrepreneurs, the minister suggested that Divyang citizens should be part of this organic food festival from next year. Tribal produce and nutritious food supported by Poshan Abhiyan should also be included. Food Processing Secretary Pushpa Subrahmanyam highlighted that India is ranked number one in organic producers and ninth in area under cultivation for organic products.The country produced around 1.7 million tonnes of certified organic products in 2017-18. It exported organic products worth USD 515 million in the same year.To boost organic products and women entrepreneurship, the two ministries had signed a memorandum of understanding last year to help them get connect with government's financial schemes.The overall effort is targeted towards strengthening organic branding for India by enhancing direct linkage of local producers with buyers as well as boosting processing potential of organic output.During the festival, training programmes will be organised for women entrepreneurs in the area of packaging, storage, marketing, innovations on renewable energy, food safety regulations and organic certifications.
